Unified Communications Network Management Licensing

Hi,
i have purchased all 4 VOIP Network Management Software (CUOM, CUSM, ecc...) with their PAK. Now i'm going to register the 4 PAK, but i have a doubt: Cisco requires the MAC address of the server that hosts the Management Software. I have installed the Cisco software on 2 HP dl380 servers with 4 NIC's and, on each server, i configured 2 NIC's in load balance (with embedded HP network software): the other 2 NIC's are disconnected.
Is there someone that can tell me which MAC address i must provide to Cisco PAK registration ?
Thank you,
Roberto

Interesting question. When you configured the network team, the MAC address of one of the physical interfaces was grabbed and assigned as the team's primary layer 2 address.  If I recall correctly, this would normally be the first (lowest numbered) ethernet interface.  But it is likely more complicated than that.  But, the point is I would lean to using the mac address reported for the team by the network configuration utility (NCU).
A good doc/pdf on the topic: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01415139%2Fc01415139.pdf

  • Cisco application networking manager license file - unable copy to server

    Hi all
We tried all the options like ftp, tftp, scp, etc., to copy cisco application networking manager license file from my pc to its server which has CISCO ADE OS .But unable to copy .can anybody know correct method to copy ??
    Thanks & Regards
    Sanjeevi

    Adrian,
In order to install the license you must have a license file on the ANM server and install it through the command line:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/application_networking_manager/4.1/installation/guide/IG_config.html#wpmkr1120937
No other way to do it.
License file can either be copied to the ANM file system, or you can create a new empty license file on it and copy paste the license file content.
If you have no access to the ANM server through CLI, then a workaround might be:
         - install a new VMWARE machine where you have CLI access.
         - install ANM on it
         - copy license (other you copy the file through any means or you create a file and edit by copy pasting the license file content)
         - install license with the command  /opt/CSCOanm/bin/anm-license install /path/ANMxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.lic as described in the link above
         - save the VMware image
         - deploy the same VMWare image to the ESX where it has to be installed and where you have no access to CLI neither you can copy a file.
    Hope this helps,
    Domenico.

  • Unified Communications Operations Manager 8.0: How can I get rid of exlamation marks in Service Level View?

    Hi all,
In Operations Manager I open the Service Level View and there are 3 exclamation marks visible for some devices. I acknowledged all alerts & events and they are already cleared now, but I'd like to know if I can get rid of the exclamation marks in Service Level View too. Is this possible?
    Kind regards,

    It worked!
    Thanks.
I have a dumb basic question which is sort of related to your shambles comment, which I don't deny is true.
I am confused about whether style.css files get affiliated with each separate HTML page or whether there is just one style.css file that is affiliated with all my HTML pages. If they are separate CSS files, how do I separate each style.css file?

    Hello Robert,
Apologies for a delayed response, some days get very hectic.
In CallManager, we only define the SRST reference, and CUCM version and SRST version are independent of each other.
The only thing, which is related and will change with CUCM upgrade is Phone F/w version.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/compat/ccmcompmatr1.pdf
You may just want to check your, phone f/w compatibility with the SRST version running on your ISR G1 Gateways:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2169/products_device_support_tables_list.html
    For Example: SRST version 7.1
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/vcallcon/ps2169/data_sheet_c78-520521.html
You may want to do some lab testing with CUCM 9.1 and an SRST supported f/w on your phones.
If you decide to run the old Phone/F/w to support the SRST version, you may not be able to take advantage of new features.
Also, you can try and upgrade your phones(Wih CUCM 9.1) and test them with your SRST version.
It should work fine, but from a troubleshooting perspective, TAC may request you to come into a Cisco Supported combination.
Please, let me know if this clarifies your doubt or we can have a quick phone call.
    Regards
    Amit Singh

  • License Migration for Unified Communications.

Hi guys. I need assistance for migrate the existing licenses for Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection and Cisco Unified Contact Center Express devices to be valid in the new version installed.
    The existing versions are:
       * Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5.0
       * Cisco Unity 4.0
       * Cisco Unified Contact Center Express 4.5
    The new versions are:
       * Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.6
       * Cisco Unity Connection 8.6
       * Cisco Unified Contact Center Express 8.5
I tried to use the licensing tools such as "Cisco Licensing" ([email protected]) and "Product License Registration" (https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/LicensingUI/lookupLicenseRehost) but I have not obtained satisfactory results.
The Product License Registration requieres the following information but I don't know this:
    UDI Product ID:
    UDI Serial Number:
    Device Credential:
Someone knows what is the best way to migrate licenses for UC applications?
I appreciate any cooperation in this case.
    Thanks a lot.
    Ernesto Gonzalez

    Hi Ernesto,
For UCCX 4.5 to 8.5, as there is no direct path available for upgrade , you need to use an intermediate version 7.0 to restaore the 4.5 data. From UCCX 7.0 with latest SR you have to perfrom one more upgrade to reach the version 8.5.
You can use the ordering guides to get to know about the license migration.

  • Unified Communications on UCS C-Series through 6140 UCS Manager

I have a customer that has decided to provision their UCS C-210M2 using a PALO card to an existing 6140.  They intend on using UCS Manager to provision the server and serve network connectivity.  This is supported right up until the Unified Communications comes into the mix.  UC requires two RAID arrays, RAID 1 (2 Disks) for VMware and RAID 5 (8 Disks) Virtual Machines.  UCS Manager does not allow more than 1 RAID type per service profile.  How do we make this work in a supported model?

UCS Manager is not able to provision the RAID arrays (Feature request - PLEASE).  Cisco UC BU has the TRC#1-3 yet is flexible.
    Two solutions are as follows:
    1. DAS - Use CIMC to configure the RAID arrays (2 disks RAID1) for VMware + (8 disks RAID5).  Create a service profile in UCS Manager that specifies that the Service Profile will not apply any local disk policies.
    2. Diskless - Qualify the SAN environment, provision C210M2 using TRC#3 specs.  Build service profile in UCS Manager as needed.

  • Migration Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1 to Cisco Small Business Edition 5000

    Hello,
I want to know two things:
    1) I want to know if I have 1000 dlu. how many licenses would be in the new licenses for Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business edtition? Because i have Cisco Ip Communicator, Cisco Personal Communicator, Video Advantage and unified Messaging.
2)To migrate data from my current CUCM what tool should I use? DMA?
    Thanks

I can't assist on #1 but #2 is pretty much a regular upgrade. The only CUCMBE before having the 3 flavors we have now, has turned into the 5K option.
There's no DMA as that's from Windows to Linux. It's either DRS (EXACT same source and destination version) or BAT.

  • Broken Cisco Unity / Unified Communications Manager association

We have several Cisco Unity Connection users with the following status in their profiles:
"This user's association to the co-resident Cisco Unified Communications Manager user has been broken.
Please Click Here to reassociate the orphaned user."
Clicking on the reassociation button does not show any of the users with broken associations, just a few resource users.
Is there any way to reassociate these users with CUCM without having to delete them in Unity Connection along with their mailboxes?

These are the steps I took to resolve the issue. I was particularly concerned about users losing saved messages in their voicemail. The posted solution did not give much detail on what to do.
    1) Create a new user in CUCM. For example, I have a user called 'John Doe' in the system. I created a new one called 'John Doe2'.
    2) After creating the user I associated 'John Doe2' to the phone in use by 'John Doe'. Then I set the Primary Extension as needed for that user. Hit the 'Save' button and verify that the 'Create Cisco Unity User' option shows up in the drop-down box in the right hand corner.
    3) Log into Cisco Unity Connection Administration, and select 'John Doe'. Click on the link to re-associate and select 'John Doe2'. This links the Unity user to the CUCM user.
    4) Log back into CUCM and select 'John Doe' from the user list. Remove all device associations from the user. Hit Save, then delete the user.
    5) Select 'John Doe2' and rename the user as 'John Doe'.
These steps fixed my problem. I had to do it for all the users whose association was broken. One note to make is that the voicemail PIN is automatically reset to the default I believe, which is 0000. Other than that voicemail continues to work normally and users don't have to redo their greetings and such.
