Unified inbox question

Hello, I have received several questions about the unified inbox in iOS4. If one has several email accounts can a specific one be left out of the unified inbox? Looking through the settings, I didn't see much but could be missing something. Thanks!

In what I believe is a related question, can you reorder the presentation of the inboxes/accounts in the unified inbox interface? I have multiple accounts but have preferences as to which is listed first.

Yosemite Mail - cannot see or erase deleted IMAP messages in unified inbox view

Recently upgraded to Yosemite from last release of 10.7 and Mail isn't handling an IMAP account quite like I'm used to.
In 10.7 I *used to*: Hit the delete key on an IMAP message or several messages while in unified inbox, those message(s) would turn grey, then I'd hit Shift-Cmd-Delete to erase/expunge permanently.
*Now* in Yosemite: In unified inbox, I hit the delete key and the message instantly disappears from view (no grey status at all) on the Mac. On my iPhone I can see they're still there. I try Shift-Cmd-Delete to erase/expunge permanently and nothing happens. I look in that account's specific inbox, and *there* they show up, greyed out. And *there* I can Shift-Cmd-Delete to erase/expunge. Also, notably when you're in unified inbox, the View menu option to show/hide deleted messages is greyed out and unavailable to be selected.
This just seems strange. It has turned (what I assume would be) a routine task for IMAP users from a couple keystrokes, to keystroke>navigate>click>keystroke. Is this a bug, known issue, intentional design? Know of any workarounds? Thank you!

dug deeper and have had a look in the /users/.../Library/Mail/V2 Folder (thanks osx for hiding "Library" again ) and found the two Folders of these two accounts in Question.
It seems true - all Messages have been wiped of my drive. The only messages in there are the ones, retrieved this morning.
There is no apparent reason to me, why a System update would want to touch downloaded messages at all. I consider this quite a bug.

TB show all my inboxes but will not show the emails in my most recent account in the unified inbox.

Thunderbird successfully displays all of my e-mail accounts in the list of accounts and displays all of the inboxes correctly however it doesn't display the e-mails at my newest address in the unified inbox. To see them, I have to click on that particular e-mail accounts inbox. In every way, this account appears to be set up the same as the all the other ones. The newest e-mail account is a second account through Zoho. What do you think is the problem?

Thank you. I had to select the search from the menu instead og by right clicking but it worked just the same.

How do I add a work email and keep it separate from unified inboxes?

I have multiple personal accounts and love using the unified inboxes feature.
Now I want to add my work email so I can check it once in a blue moon. I'm afraid that means I won't be able to use my unified inbox to check my personal email without seeing the work email I want to avoid 99% of the time.
Is there a way to add my work email without it being included in the unified inbox?

Yeah, I know multiple people with similar complaints. None of them are willing to do anything about it, though.

Duplicates in Mail.app Unified Inbox (10.6.4)

Since updating to 10.6.4 I've notice duplicate messages in the unified inbox. Anyone else?

H-m-m-m-m .. well, there are folks on this Forum with a _*lot more*_ experience than I. Have you checked with Apple .. like AppleCare if still under warranty or subscribed. Another friend on-line had the problem after upgrading to 10.6.4 but after using Utilities>Disk Utilities and going through the hoops he says he hasn't had a relapse. He had also suspected .Me and made a couple of changes as I did.
As the saying goes .. I've fired all I had at that target but sure wish you a quick and complete recovery

IOS 4 - How do you turn off unified inbox?

How does one turn off unified inbox when running IOS 4 on a 3Gs phone?

Your don't NEED to turn off unified mailboxes but if #1 you have a long list of multiple mailboxes #2 like to look at your mail separately and have no need for a unified email box , it would be nice to save a row of space onthe screen by getting rid of it. I have work and personal email on my phone but never the twain shall meet so I don't do unified email boxes.
Its not a huge deal it's not even on my top ten most wanted featured but it would be nice.

IPad 3 Mail always defaults to iCloud inbox instead of unified inbox?

Fairly new to my iPad 3, but a long-time iOS user with an iPhone 4S. I have an iCloud email account along with my work Exchange account. iClous is the defaul email account. For some reason, any time I restart the iPad, Mail opens only in my iCloud inbox, and not in my unified inbox. Can't find any setting relating to this action. My iPhone 4S consistently opens in the unified inbox, with the exact same email accounts running the same 5.1.1 system with the same settings. A small bug, but kind of driving me nuts anyway. Am I missing a setting somewhere to fix this issue?

Do you really use the icloud mail?? I removed it and it does not happens with other accounts

It appears it was a temporary glitch. Seems to have recovered on it's own

I have numerous inboxes and would like to remove one that I seldom use but need access to from showing up in my unified inbox.
I'm pretty sure that should be possible but checked under the account settings and the mail preferences and couldn't find it.

After searching before posting I found some references for previous mail versions. It seems my wish is not possible. Has this maybe changed for lion. Since this also affects the badge on the dock in terms of unread messages it would help to be able to choose which boxes it combines.
I know that I can look at each inbox individually but wanted to try using the unified inbox.

Anyone using the Unified Inbox in a Production Environment yet?

Hi,
I am currently assessing the different SAP Workflow Inbox options, with the Unified Inbox being the first choice.
With it being so new, it still seems to be a bit of a "Work in progress" from SAP's side.
With the BSP application (/IWPGW/TGW_UNIF_INBOX) and Gateway service (/IWPGW/TASKPROCESSING version 2) still evolving in the latest Support Packs and the UI5 Inbox API still being expanded with each release.
Not to mention the fact that the Inbox API has a very clear warning "Experimental API:Since version 1.5.2. API is not yet finished and might change completely" in the API Reference Documentation.
Just wondering if there are any SAP customers out there who are using it in a Production Environment yet?
If so I would really love to get some feedback regarding the following points:
Performance
Stability
Functionality
Or any other feedback will be appreciated.

We waited patiently to upgrade to IW_PGW SP06 which contains all the improvements and latest functionality you are referring to. As it had a dependency on SAP_GWFND SP08 which was released only 2 months (Mid September) after. Where as it was available for Gateway add-on IWFND SP09 in July.
It really does contain massive improvements to the Unified Inbox with the extra features you're referring to. The /IWPGW/TASKPROCESSING version 2 Gateway service is way more complete now and the /IWPGW/TGW_UNIF_INBOX Unified Inbox BSP has been completely re-written using UI5 Components approach which has proven extremely useful in our case in order to enhance the Inbox by re-using the Unified Inbox component and not needing to modify anything SAP standard.
I'm really impressed with it so far! I'm a big fan!

Feature Request: Unified Inbox (or if not, then skip to inbox if new items)

I'd like to see a unified Inbox for iPhone Mail similar to the OS X Mail app's. If that weren't forthcoming, I'd at least like to see a tweak when navigating mail accounts so that when an account has new mail, selecting the account goes straight to the inbox instead of requiring the extra step of selecting the inbox. The reasoning is that if one selects an account with new items, chances are they want to view them, not select some other folder. On the way out it goes back to the list of folders (mailboxes) from the inbox. Also, if there are no new items, then selecting the account goes to the list of folders (mailboxes). For the rare occasion when one does not want to go straight to the inbox when new items are in it, the cost is an extra tap to go back (then again, a preference could be provided to defeat the jump navigation for new items).

Iphoto/aperture unified library question

I have just bought a new iMac to replace an ageing one. I succesfully copied my iphoto library to the new machine (via a separte hard drive). I checked the library opened fine in iPhoto and everything was there (all fine). I then bought and installed Aperture on the new machine and pointed it the the iphoto library which it opened (after first upgrading it) with no problem. So I now effectively have a "unified" iPhoto and Aperture library, although in practice I do not intend to use iPhoto any more, I will always be working in Aperture.
I now have a simple question, my photo library in the Finder (sits in the Pictures folder) is still identified as "iPhoto Library", does this matter?.
Now I believe I can (if I want) simply rename this to "Aperture Libary" or whatever else I want to call it but this made me wonder whether there is any distinction between a unified library that began life as an iPhoto library (as in my case) or a unifed library which began life as a Aperture library. Specifically, is there any change I could or should make to my library given I only ever intending using it with Aperture - or once you have a unified library is there really no differance at al between a library labelled as an "iPhoto Library" and a library labelled as an "Aperture Library" - other than in name?

It's in iOS 4, which I'm using on my iPhone. The unified email inbox is incredibly useful. Every time I go to my iPad, I get all frustrated, since my iPhone works so well.
I'm not sure when iOS 4 will show up on the iPad, but, if I may speculate without running afoul of the forum cops, I bet the upcoming September announcements will include the iOS 4 for the iPad. I'm hoping!
So, I guess my only advice is "be patient!"

Hotmail and Inbox Questions

Anyone having a hard time getting incoming mail on their hotmail account? I've deleted it and set it up. It will work once, but doesn't after that.
Also, I have 3 email accounts and I notice when I tap the mail icon it always goes to the first acct. instead of "All Mailboxes."

I'm having the same problem that jamesusf03 describes. I have 2 email accounts set up, a Gmail account and a Work account. I have the Work account set as my default account.
Everytime I sync the iPhone (or restart it), the first time I tap the Mail icon on the homepage I am taken directly to my Gmail inbox. It bypasses the "Mailboxes" screen that lists both the Gmail and Work accounts. It's a little annoying because I use the Gmail account less than the Work account, and because I have the Work account set as my default account.
Any solutions? Again, this only seems to occur the first time I tap the Mail icon after a sync or reboot.

NForce2 Unified Driver Question

I have an MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR with an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ mounted on it with 2 sticks of Mushkin Cas 2 DDR (1 meg total) running in dual channel. My OS is XP Pro. I downloaded nVidia's newest nforce2 unified driver and installed it a few days ago, after first uninstalling the old driver. If I go into device manager and click on the plus sign next to System Devices, and I look at the resulting list, I see 4 entries in the list that read NVIDIA nForce2 Memory Controller, and one entry in the list that reads NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 Memory Controller. If you highlight each one of the 5 entries (one at a time) and right click on them, and then click on properties, you will see that it says under the General tab "No drivers are installed for this device". However, if you click on the Driver tab, it lists a driver for each of the 5 entries (in this case it is the 3.3.8.0 driver version). Is this normal? Common sense says that if it says no driver is installed, then XP shouldnt be telling me the driver version that actually is installed. Please advise.

I just had a look at the Memory cotrollers in my computer and there are 5 listed . The first has a driver and the other 4 read like , drivers are not needed or installed .
From past browsing through my computer I remember this as normal , but wait for the expert and my opinion is , yes normal .
