Unified Key mapping Service in SAP PI 7.3/7.1

Hi All,
I'm new to the UKMS concept in SAP PI. Please let me know what are the prerequisites needed to get the functionality of UKMS in PI.
Any sap provided documents or links with detailed information what are all the files to be downloaded from service market place and configurations to be done.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jaya

Hi Venkat,
Thanks for your reply.
I have gone through these links before posting this blog. In the above provided pdf file it was mentioned what are the SAP standard UKMS tables for PI 7.0. Similarly I need for Pi 7.1 and 7.3
But I need the information like is there any sap provided standard files to be downloaded from service market place to ge the functionality of UKMS in existing PI server.
What are the SAP standard tables and function modules(for UKMS concept) for PI 7.1 and 7.3
In our existing PI server we don't have this functionality.

Jaya

  • Update key mapping via web service

    Hi ,
I have a question about edit key mapping. The problem is that we create vendors in MDM and syndicate them to different ERP systems. To decide which system a new vendor/changes must be send to, I need the Edit Key Mapping, but the users do not want to enter this information manually and I do not see how I can create key mapping automatically.
We are working on a new solution where vendors are entered in sharepoint and updated in MDM via web services. I would like to know if one of you know if key mapping can be maintained via a web service.
    Kind regards

  • SAP MDM 7.1 Vendor Number and key mapping

We are importing data for vendors whcih DO NOT have any VendorNumber now. (they have some the VendorNumber but not one which can be used in the field Vendor Number.)
We have to generate the VendorNumber during oar - better - after the import.
There is not problem creating is after the import with a simple assigmment statemen which contains some rules.
    So far so good.
The pitfall in creating the number AFTER the import is that NO remote keys are generated.
Any idea how to create these keys AFTER or DURING import IF hte venoder number is assigned during or after import?

    Hi Lutz-Peter,
Any idea how to create these keys AFTER or DURING import IF the venoder number is assigned during or after import?
During Import, if you have local keys for each of these remote system, you can maintain it using Remote key concept.
But you must have one Matching field(Global ID) for this. Since you are creating Vendor key centrally in MDM using MDM Data Manager. Are you exporting data to different remote systems after creating Vendor number centrally in MDM(which can acts as Global ID) If yes then after data created into Remote systems, you can bring Local ID of remote system with this Global ID during import. 1stly, for this your main table property Key Mapping = yes should be enabled in MDM console.
So during import you should open MDM Import Manager by selecting required Remote system, you will get one more field in target Remote Key, map this target field with with source Local ID field along with other fields like Global ID etc. So in this you will have your Remote Key for Remote systems.
However Remote Keys depends on how are you creating Local ID(remote Keys) for remote systems, i mean in Remote systems itself or through MDM Syndicator using Remote system Key Generation concept.

  • Problem with childs nodes and automatic key mapping in a Data Object

    Hi experts!
I'm doing the service order tutorial from the mobile help at [this link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/21/9b5b924c3b434fba4767731794b029/frameset.htm] and I have a problem...
In the topic "Modeling the Equipment Data Object", says you have to mark the "Automatic Key Mapping" checkbox. So when I had to create a third child node ( the location node ) the system raised an exception with the message "Deselect automatic key mapping flag for more than two-level nodes". I'm trying deselecting the flag and creating the location node, but when I want mark again the automatic key mapping flag, this is disabled.
What can I do to solve this and create the three child nodes with the flag marked? It's a configuration thing?
Any help it's very welcome. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Simon.

The thing is: Its not allowed to use automatic keymapping if you have more than two levels. This is why the message showed up, and this is why its been disabled.
What automatic keymapping does: Figures out automatically which child node belongs to which parent (by guessing from the field name and type, which fields in the child correspond to which key fields of the parent).
On three levels, this becomes more complicated => Its disabled.
How to do keymapping yourself instead of having the DOE do it automatically: Do 'Explicit keymapping' from each child to its parent. Explicit keymapping is done by clicking on the corresponding menu button in the child node. Here you need to associate child node fields (they need not be key fields of the child, but they are allowed to be that as well) to each of its parent nodes key fields (so that each child can be associated to its parent).
    Cheers

  • Remote System and Remote Key Mapping at a glance

    Hi,
I want to discuss the concept of Remote System and Remote Key Mapping.
Remote System is a logical system which is defined in MDM Console for a MDM Repository.
We can define key mapping enabled at each table level.
The key mapping is used to distinguish records at Data Manager after running the Data Import.
Now 1 record can have 1 remote system with two different keys but two different records cannot have same remote system with same remote key. So, Remote key is an unique identifier for record for any remote system for each individual records.
Now whenever we import data from a Remote System, the remote system and remote key are mapped for each individual records. Usually all records have different remote keys.
Now, when syndicating back the record with default remote key is updated in the remote system that is sent by xml file format.
If same record is updated two times from a same remote system, the remote key will be different and the record which is latest contains highest remote key.
Now, I have to look at Data Syndication and Remote key.
I have not done Data Syndication but my concept tell if there is duplicate record with same remote system but different remote keys both will be syndicated back. But if same record have two remote keys for same remote system then only the default remote key is syndicated back.
    Regards
    Kaushik Banerjee

    You are right Kaushik,
I have not done Data Syndication but my concept tell if there is duplicate record with same remote system but different remote keys both will be syndicated back.
Yes, but if they are duplicate, they needs to be merged.
But if same record have two remote keys for same remote system then only the default remote key is syndicated back.
This is after merging. So whichever remote key has tick mark in key mapping option(default) , it will be syndicated back.
Pls refer to these links for better understanding.

    uncomment #KEYPMAPFILE=CGICMD.DAT. remove the #
    then for development set
    reloadkeymap=yes (same file - rwservlet.properties).
Now it should reload everytime. (otherwise for every change u need to restart oc4j_bi_forms)
(For * production* may be you want to set reloadkeymap=no once all testing is done)
see cgicmd.dat for many examples of using keymap file

    Hello -
I am not sure on that coding part. but is it like are you trying to retrive Key Mapping from Memory accelerator. Here this information always needs to be read from Database.
I am sure you also maintained  the required attribute for key mapping as in Property in Console should be set as "Yes" and other relevant things properly .
Here also go through the below link for more insight from tools perspective.

  • Key mapping to extension.

    Hi,
I have setup Exchange 2010 with Unified Messaging role and Lync 2010. They are integrated and working fine.
I also have a prompt that says: "Welcome to CompanyABC. If you know the extension number of the person you wish to speak to, please dial now. Alternatively, press 1 for Group1, 2 for Group2, 3 for Group3, 9 for Group4 or hold the line".
Each extension has 3 digits and what I need to achieve is if the user press 3 digits on the main prompt, he gets transferred to the extension. However, this seems not to be an option on the UM Auto Attendant because the key mapping only accepts
    one digit.
Does anyone know how to implement this scenario on Exchange UM?
    Thanks in advance,
    Giancarlo

you are probably trying to acheive both DTMF key mapping dialing AND extension dialing at the same time. Exchange UM AA cannot do this. Below is a work around:

I registered the addon in the databases, Installed the Intercompany integration solution scenarios. Everything ok. I also configured settings in SAP Business One with the Intercompany Initialization Wizard in all companys
I have the next problem. When doing key mapping, i try to continue mapping PaymentTerms but i click the button with ... dots and try to choose an option, it appears blanck, cannot select any optiion from the other database. I mark the button i prese and see the seleccioction window empty

    Hi Hector,
Please ensure that in your Payment Terms code, no such special character has been used that are reserved by XML.This may cause conflict with the XML format and may lead to this issue.
Moreover, for analysis, you may provide with the list of common Payment Terms across your Intercompany participating companies.

  • Key mapping with rwservlet

    Hi,
I am working on running reports through the web using html forms and rwservlet. The trouble comes when I try to use cgicmd.dat to do key mapping. The utility "showmap," that is used with rwservlet, shows the file has changed, but under "Parsed map file entries," my new keys are not displayed. How can I get these new key entries to work?
    Thanks
    Sarah

    Hello,
Here is an extract from Reports documentation:
Oracle9iAS Reports Services Publishing Reports to the Web
    Release 2 (9.0.2)
    Part Number A92102-01
3.3.2 Reloading the Key Map File
Use the RELOAD_KEYMAP parameter to specify whether the key map file
(cgicmd.dat) should be reloaded each time the servlet receives a request.
    For example:
    RELOAD_KEYMAP=yes
This is useful if you frequently make changes to the map file and want the
process of loading your changes to be automatic. Runtime performance will be
affected according to how long it takes to reload the file.
Typically, this parameter is set to no in a production environment and yes in
    a testing environment.

  • Key Mapping in Syndication Port

    Hi,
Scenario -- Syndication through mdm outbound port (automatic mode) :
What will happen after XI successfully created data in R3 ? How MDM will get key mapping?
Do you need to execute import manager externaly to update key mappings or it will automatically take care?
    Regards,
    Ram

There are several options here :
    1) If the Client system allows external numbering, the key can be generated on MDM, and would be transferred in the XML-File and once a new record is created in the Client system, it would takeover this key. When you look in the Console in the Remote system section, there's a field "Key-Generation", which cen be used for this.
    2) Internal numbering on the CLient system. When the client system creates a key, this needs to be transferred back to MDM. This can be done e.g via calling a web-service "MDMAddRemoteKey".

  • Key Mapping MDM

I am interested in knowing if anyone has interest in the ability to visualize graphically and manage key mapping external to the MDM.  Would you want the capability to automatically update the MDM from the graphical model?  Is there a similar capability offered by SAP or another organization?

    Hello Rama:
First you have to create Client Systems on the MDM console, of type Inbound/Outbound.
Then Enable the Keymapping feature for the table you are using (on MDM). Choose your repository, on the right pane choose the table, and on Table Details, choose Keymapping = Yes.
When importing data on Import Manager, map the desired source field into the Remote Key field on MDM.
When syndicating, depending on your client system, the right key will be retrieved, if for instance, customers are duplicated on both systems (r/3 and sql server) you'll get the corresponding key for each one.
    I hope that helps
    Regards
    Alejandro
