    "REP-0999 unimplemented error"
    but if i generate the report from report builder ..it is generated successfully
    my report builder version is 6.0.8.8.3
    and form builder version is 6.0.8.11.3
    I am using RUN_PRODUCT method to call the report from FORM SIDE
    I request Oracle Report Team to respond me and provide with a solution..wether i have to use some other method to call my report or some settings are required.
    If any body knows please tell me in detail.
    Thank you.
    Qaiser malik

    Hi Qaiser
    The first thing to do is to upgrade Reports to the latest version.
    You may also want to try using RUN_REPORTS_OBJECT method to call Reports from Forms.

  • "Rep-0999 Unimplemented Error" while converting a report to PDF format...

    i have developed a number of complex reports with several queries and formula objects, all running successfully and converting to other formats accuratelly.
    i have report of Accounts Receivables, a complex one, running near about 10 queries and 7 formula column database functions to calculate values for each row return, this report works accuratelly and converts to other formats easily but takes full 60 to 70 seconds to run the report.
    management asked me to enhance the performace of this report,
    i had worked out and reduce the number of queries and formula columsn to one single query with 5 nested(union queries) queries. execution times reduces to 3 to 5 seconds with accuracy.
    Report displays correctelly but give an error "Rep-0999 Unimplemented Error" whenver we converts it to pdf or other sources.
    While other complex reports were still converting successfully.
    Help me out of this problem,.... im hands up at this situation.
    bye

    Thank you Piyush!
    It really works, you idea and understanding is 100% accurate,
    i have lexical variable, to whom i assign two values either "<> 0" or "is not null",
    i had omitted the space from "<> 0" and make it "<>0", now it works properly,
    only one confussion left, if i pass "is#not#null" from form, how can i can convert it on report to "is not null",
    once again thanks a lot

  • REP-0999 Unimplemented Error

    When using Forms and Reports v 6.0.8.11.3 and trying to 'Generate' report output from the previewer to a RTF file, we get the above error.
    Can anyone offer any ideas? The documentation is not much help.
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Frank,
    Interestingly enough, we've discovered that users with older machines do not experience this error. Users with newer desktops almost universally get this error.
    This suggests to me that we have some kind of driver problem with the newer releases.
    I've recommended to my customer that we upgrade our Oracle versions across the board, but now I'm not so sure that this is good advice.
    What do you think?
    Thanks in advance for your opinion.
    BTW, one of our Forms programs seems to work on all platforms. This really has me befuddled.

    Nitin Hi !
    My problem occurs when I try to generate a previewed report to a RTF file. At the same time, the "Report Builder" menu item from the "run" menu is disabled. Maybe I have to install Oracle Reports ? should I download it from Oracle web site ?
    Have a good day,

    REP-0999: Unimplemented Error.
    How can I solve it, Please help me.

    Do the column headings display ok but the data does not?
    If so it may be related to the font size. i.e. the whole report may not fit on the page when scaled for pdf output.

    I'm having a problem when I try to convert any report to any other format.
    From the report previewer I click the command at File\Generate to File, and whatever format I choose (PDF, HTML, RTF, ...), a Save dialog box appears to enter the file name. • Unimplemented method error in Date

    I am using jDev 3.0. In the entity objects set and get methods, for a date attribute, i am trying to use the functions like getCurrentDate(), diffInMonths() etc. The code is getting compiled, but when i test the application module, i get the error "Unimplemented method".
    The following is a sample code
    public boolean validateSilDateMst() throws java.sql.SQLException
    java.sql.Date x = Date.getCurrentDate();
    return true;
    Is there some problem with the code or with JDeveloper.

    In JDev 3.0, you need to use a JDBC-OCI connection and make sure that the OCI Client is installed on your machine and that the Oracle Home where the OCI Client is installed is in your path.
    In JDev 3.1, this should work OK with the thin driver.

  • ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable error & OPEN-FOR statement ...

    Hi,
    I have a procedure that opens a cursor which returns a result set based on a dynamic SELECT statement. The IN clause
    in most cases needs to handle more than 1000 expressions. So to avoid the ORA-01785 error, I use a function to
    convert the comma separated list of ids (which are unknown) into a collection which can then be used in the sub query
    to process each expression or id. I assumed that the maximum string length I could use for these list of ids was
    32767, i.e. VARCHAR2. But f I attempt to open the cursor with a list of ids where the string length is greater than 4000 bytes , the cursor is invalid
    and it seems to throw the following Oracle error:
    ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion ...
    Note that anything less than 4000 bytes is fine. I have attached some of the code below and would appreciate if anyone
    could tell me what im doing wrong! For example, can a varchar2 variable greater than 4000 bytes not be used when
    executing dynamic SQL in the context of the OPEN-FOR statement?
    -- Create type to hold collection of identifiers.
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE IDList IS TABLE OF NUMBER;
    -- Function which converts a string of comma separated list of identifiers
    -- into a collection.
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION fnConvertIDListToCollection(
         varList IN VARCHAR2,
         varDelimiter IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT ',')
    RETURN IDList
    IS
         varString long := varList || varDelimiter;
         varPos pls_integer;
         varData IDList := IDList();
    BEGIN
         LOOP
              varPos := instr(varString, varDelimiter);
              EXIT WHEN (nvl(varPos, 0) = 0);
              varData.extend;
              varData(varData.count) := trim(substr(varString, 1, varPos - 1));
              varString := substr(varString, varPos + 1);
         END LOOP;
         RETURN (varData);
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE MyTestProc
    myCursor OUT SYS_REFCURSOR
    AS
    varListOfIds VARCHAR2(32767);
    BEGIN
         -- Hard coding this for now but this will be an incoming parameter containing a list
         -- of unknown ids, separated with commas.
         varListOfIds := '1,2 .. , 5000';
         OPEN myCursor FOR
         'SELECT     DISTINCT val1, val2, val3
         FROM TABLEA
         WHERE     val1 IN (select * from table(cast(fnConvertIDListToCollection(:ListOfIds) as IDList)))' USING varListOfIds;
    END;

    APC,
    Many thanks for the suggestion and yes I could possibly implement an alternative solution, certainly for some cases but I need to investigate further for others. I'm migrating some SQL Server logic over to Oracle and that was simply the approach taken on that platform.
    Could I trouble you with one further question as a newbie to all of this. I hinted in my last response that I was somewhat confused over the limits with the use of varchar2 variables in PL/SQL. If I were building up a piece of dynamic SQL (e.g. SELECT statement including a WHERE clause) using an incoming VARCHAR2 parameter for the WHERE clause, can this parameter contain more than 4000 bytes if necessary. I assumed it could be as big as 32767 bytes but an earlier response suggested a maximum of 4000 bytes. Really sorry for probably a fairly basic Oracle question but it would be very appreciated if you could explain this to me.
    Again, many thanks.

  • Error Type 102, Unimplemented Trap, Will not initialize...

    Among a lot of eight iMacs that were donated to us, there are a pair of them each with their own issues. Both are old CRT iMacs from 2001 with 266MB of RAM.
    (#1)
    This iMac initially was advertising an "Unimplemented Trap." I could boot up with the shift key or the C key down, but not otherwise.
    By the recommendation of a number of websites, I tried altering the extension expression with the extension manager. Even if I unchecked every box in the extension manager, the reboot would not be successful, requiring either shift or C to be pushed to get past the "OS 9.2" boot screen.
    With the computer not responding to the alterations in the extension manager, I put in the OS 9.2.1 disc and ran a complete install. During installation, it warned me that the Remote Access 4.0 required Open Transport 2.0 (or something to this effect).
    After the install, I am now getting an "Error Type 102" at start up. I can still restart with the shift or C key, but I remain unable to have any positive effect on booting even after unchecking every conceivable box within the extension manager.
    Any suggestions?
    (#2)
    This iMac boots successfully in the sense that it gets beyond the start up screen to the Desktop. Once it gets there, mouse inputs are received with respect to movement, but neither key strokes nor mouse clicks have any effect.
    When a CD is not in the drive, it will load a window labeled "Launcher" with nothing inside at the moment the computer stops initializing.
    When a CD is in the drive, it will load a window displaying all of the CD's contents at the moment the computer stops initializing.
    When I boot with shift, the Extension Manager can not be opened, "because it is locked."
    When I try to boot with C, I get an icon of a disk with a flashing question mark at the initial gray screen.
    Problem with the CD drive? Any ideas?
    Thanks a million. Getting these computers working would be a huge help: we need them to be working when school starts in two weeks and we don't have the money to purchase new computers.

    To Apple Discussions!
    *Unimplemented Trap Error*
    Probable Causes: There are several.
    Can involve the Macintosh's ROM (read only memory), where core operating system routines are stored. The error can occur when a request made for a routine that's in ROM could not be completed because the routine was unavailable. Typically, this error is caused by older software that assumes an older version of ROM. The software in question could be an application or a system extension.
    Unimplemented Trap error can also occur when the Macintosh model or the system software is too old for your application(s). While most software is written to be backward compatible (i.e., designed to work with older hardware models and system versions), it is not possible to be compatible with every Macintosh and system software version.
    Possible Solutions:
    Make sure your software is current and is compatible with your Macintosh model and system software.
    Most software applications include system requirements in the documentation or on the outside of the box. If your configuration does not meet the minimum requirements, upgrade your configuration as necessary.
    Similarly, if you are using an application that is more than one major version older than the current version (major versions being 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and minor versions being 2.01, 2.2, 2.2.3, etc.), but your Macintosh model and system software are current, upgrade your application to the current version.

If not, you can get replacement System Install & Restore CDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. • MDD FW 400 won't boot OS 9 | System error "Unimplemented Trap" Huh?

    Hey guys, I need help with a weird problem. I recently bought a MDD dual 1.25 with 1.5MG RAM, CPU Type:PowerPC G4 (3.3), Boot ROM Version: 4.4.8f2. It came with a single 60 gig drive in it with OS 10.2.6, and it used to boot directly to the OS 9 system folder just fine. I took out that drive, installed it in my old Blue & White POS, gave that to my wife and now have: a seagate 80 gig drive (originally in the B&W), as well as a 160 gig & a 200 Gig.
    All three drives have 9.2.2 on their own partitions, as well as on the 2 master drives with OS 10.3.8 & 10.3.6 respectively. I can’t boot directly to 9 from any of them.
    The 200 gig drive was the only one of the 3 formatted directly from within the MDD, clean install, with OS9 drivers selected on install.
    When I select ANY of the OS9 partitions, even the OS9 system folders on the OSX partitions for that matter, I get:
    1. a grey screen (for a little too long)
    2. then a happy mac box (and the cursor appears)
    3. Then an empty floppy disk icon
    4. Then a “?” inside the floppy disk icon
    5. finally a system 9 style “bomb box” and:
    “sorry, a system error occurred. Unimplemented trap. To temporarily turn off extensions, restart and hold down the shift key” .
    There is a restart button. Perhaps I should mention the error dialog is apparently blocking what appears to be the “Welcome to Mac OS 9.1” screen before the icon march.
    Maybe that 9.1 means nothing, but I HAVE NO 9.1 system folders on any disks. They are all 9.2.2... Well that part just bugs me.
    The issue is that when I click “restart” and hold down the shift key as directed, the same actions above 1 thru 5 happen, and I’m back at the bomb.
    The only way out of the cycle is to “option restart”, and all my partitions show up EXCEPT the OS 10.3.8 partition I had begun the process from. Since I have another OSX partition on one of the disks, I can select that and boot to it no problem. I am then able to select the original OSX partition on the “main” drive, and return to square one, where the cycle began. All the OS 9 system folders can be used to “boot” classic mode, and Tech Tool, Disk Warrior, all are run regularly and report minimal issues. The machine works fine, except for this one issue.
    So, why is my MDD preventing me from booting directly into OS9? I read somewhere on another thread that the boot ROM is system specific, so that might answer why the drive pulled from the B&W won’t boot to 9, but the new drive was formatted by the MDD disks, and I even tried a reinstall of OS9 to that disk in an attempt to “unstick” the system. All system 9 folders reside on master drives (so slave is not the issue).
    But none of the 9.2.2 folders when selected will bring me anywhere but the bomb, apparently “TRYING” to boot OS9.
    WHAT am I missing here? Any ideas?

    B&W G3, Mirrored Drive Door G4, Beige Tower   Mac OS X (10.3.8)   Atto USB card, combo drive, super drive

    AJ,
    Consider me dyslexic about the MDD. I don't know how
    to reset the PMU on it. My beige G3 had a button on
    the motherboard
    there is a button on the motherboard of the G4. Location and color may vary. Usually black or red, mounted on a raised silver or black square...typically about 1/4" square
    the B&W had a "programmers button" on the front faceplate
    That's also known as an 'interrupt switch' With the appropriate debugger software, programmers could push that button and call up the debugger, which would allow them to trace their code and issue low level commands. Sometimes useful to break out of a crashed program without pulling the plug.
    I know what I know from doing & reading and yes I have a
    system folder or two that began in a 6320CD Performa
    I think that was one of the machines that required a special file to boot - which is the file I cannot recall the name.
    If that file still exists in your system folder, then it may be the culprit.
    I'm certified dangerous because of knowledge gaps....
    Aren't we all?
    such as CDEVs are control panels?
    CDEV is ControlDEVice, otherwise known as a control panel.
    init's are mostly extensions?
    Yes.
    and what are TSR's?
    Terminate and Stay Resident. Actually a DOS term for a program that runs, quits, but remains loaded in memory.
    Apple calls them inits.
    Many of the icons that appear during the OS9 boot process are functionally TSRs.
    Init conflicts usually were the result of two or more of these programs fighting over the same block of ram.
    It sound like you're asking me to search the system
    folder for some invisible files correct?
    No. The files should be visible. Since you can't yet boot to 9 (thus might not be able to get to use startup manager), I gave you the hard way to find and disable them.
    Recall the OS9 startup mananager, which allows you to selectively enable and disable startup items? When you use startup manager, active items (with a check) will be in a folder named, for example, Control Panels. Inactive items, those without a check, will be in a folder named Control Panels (disabled)
    To activate the startup manager at boot, hold down the spacebar. It should be the first thing to load. You can select OS9 only, none, or selectively tunr items on/off. Startup manager will automatically move items from the active to the disabled folder.
    If you know the file names, you can manually move things from one folder to another, (which is the process I described)
    All those files load in alphabetical order. Some of those items want to be loaded first, so the file was named with a leading space, period, or similar. ( Adobe type manager, for example)
    There are a couple that are named such that they will load before startup manager.
    Since your crash is almost immediate, I'm betting it's one of the first to load TSRs thats causing the problem.
    The 80 gig resides in the B&W, so you're suggesting,
    pulling it, installing it in the MDD & dragging the
    system folder from there?
    That is one method. Or mount the BW with Target disk mode and copy it across. Or copy the system folder to CD.
    or if the machines are networked, copy across the network. Or USB memory stick, depending on the size of the folder.
    The object is to get a known working drive with a known working/bootable OS into the new machine. Since I know my machine will not see either the 200 or 160 when boot to 9, and on some machines, 9 will not see anything over 128gb, I suggest getting a known good copy of 9 on a drive physically smaller than 128gb (not a sub 128 gb partition of a much larger drive)
    Temporarily disconecting the larger drives has no purpose beyond helping eliminate the complexity during diagnostics and troubleshooting. You know they work as intended, and are not part of the problem.

    Yer darn tootin' I do, pardner.  Compressed audio should never, EVER be used in AE.  It has never worked well.
    I forgot that compressed audio could even be imported into AE many, many years ago.  Thus, I never use it and never have problems.  Of course, I rarely even render audio, even on lip-sync video: it almost always exists elsewhere, such as in my NLE.  I use audio as a handy reference for for my work, and little else.  Why render it if you don't have to?
