Well, you need to be careful about syncing between Intel and PPC Macs. If it's just data then that won't be a problem. However, system files are another matter because there are two separate versions of OS X - an Intel version and a PPC version. As long as you are aware and take care not to sync anything other than your data you will be OK.
I use Synchronize! Pro X to handle both my syncing and backup needs. It's shareware and a bit expensive, but I find that it easily handles all the chores needed. It does full and incremental bootable backups, file and folder synchronization, and can sync multiple folders and files at one time. It syncs between any mounted device including network drives. About the only thing it cannot do is backup over multiple CDs/DVDs. It handles scheduled backups/syncs as well. The only other backup solution that does more is Retrospect Desktop.
In addition to Synchronize! Pro X you will find lots of support for SuperDuper and Deja Vu. I use both and they are also good products, but my preference is for Synchronize! Pro X.
You can maintain the two systems by using an external Firewire drive to transfer data, set up a local network and use Ethernet, or connect the two via Firewire cable and use IP over Firewire (consult your online Help by selecting Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search on "Firewire".)

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

Yes and no. Why ? because it will work with the right driver, won't work if can't find the right driver. How can we know you can get a right driver when we don't know your computer. HP has dozens if not hundreds of models/products called Touchsmart.

Your problem is caused by the Ask Toolbar which you have installed. There are compatibility issues between Ask and Firefox at the moment.
Please do the following to ensure a clean installation.

There's a reported bug among iDVD '08 users where burning
large projects are resulting in audio synch problems near the
end of the burned DVD.
In other words, the audio slowly goes out of synch towards the
end of burned projects.

I tried uninstalling iDVD '08 and replacing with '06 but it doesn't
work. You try that and iDVD will not launch at all.
Even tried to partition my drive and install iLife '06 to the partition
but the system will not let me.

I upgraded to iLife 08 from 06 (bad move). I couldn't install iMovie because my Mac is too old (must be Intel-based or comparable). iDVD didn't work--the document window was always black, even with a theme selected. The Virtual Band function in GarageBand did nothing whatsoever. I trashed the '08 applications, moved all Preferences files to my desktop, reinstalled iLife '06. Now, iDVD won't launch--just flashes the menu bar and exits back to the Finder. So, I have several DVD projects on my system that I cannot finish because I cannot reinstall iLife '06 (like the originator of this problem, "How can I uninstall iDVD '08 and install iDVD '06?") I hope someone has an answer as this is frustrating and costly to my small business.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?

As a debugging step, try printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If that fails, repeat with print-to-file selected. Assuming the print succeeds, open the file in Distiller to complete the creation of the PDF. If you get the PDF, then check to see if AcroTray is properly working as a background task.

Correct Procedure for uninstalling v4.2 and installing v4.1

Sorry to bother you with a concern I and others have currently, but I'm trying to find out the process to uninstall a newer version of lightroom (4.2) and revert back to 4.1. I have been searching for this info and have found some info that tells me to uninstall 4.2 and install 4.1 via this link http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5392 but I have a question regarding the uninstall process.
If I uninstall 4.2 does that uninstall the entire program? Would I need to reinstall it completely after the uninstallation of 4.2? Or could I simply re-install 4.1 via the link?

Aliciaverde88 for Photoshop Lightroom each of the updates is actually installing the entire program. So once you have uninstalled the entire program you can then reinstall from the link which you posted.
