  • Cannot view PDF files with Reader once we uninstall Acrobat X Professional

Our office recently installed Acrobat X Professional on all of our computers. One of our groups uses Adobe Reader to view documents in a medical records system. The documents are imported into the system via an interface that converts them to PDFs. Before the installation of Acrobat X, the documents were viewable with Adobe Reader. We were told that the medical record system is not compatible with Acrobat X, but it is with Acrobat 9. After we uninstall Acrobat X, the documents are still not viewable with Adobe Reader. We were told to unistall all Adobe products, but we are unable to uninstall the Reader. We are running Window XP Professional SP3. Is there a way to completing uninstall Reader? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Here's my problem, running 10.7.3 and Safari.
I installed the 10.1.3 and have been running in 64 mode. If when viewing a PDF I choose File>Save As... I get a dialog saying "Export as... and upon trying to do so I get an error message that it can't export.
If, however, I choose the little floppy icon in the popup at the bottom I get a "Save a copy as..." and everything works as expected.
If I delete the Adobe plugins as specified in earlier posts, I get the Preview view of PDFs in Safari and Save As works normally.
I tend to like Adobe's viewer because it defaults to a bigger view, otherwise it's apples/oranges, er adobes.

  • Can't uninstall acrobat

I am trying to install acrobat 6 standard.  I can't unless I uninstall acrobat 6 professional upgraded version.  It says I need the original cd with acro pro on it. I don't have it.  Why would I need that to UNINSTALL a program?

You can disable that plugin. Open the add-ons manager (select Add-on in the Tools menu). Now go to the Plugins panel, select the Adobe PDF plugin in the list of plugins and click the Disable button.

  • Activation key for Acrobat 8 Professional has stopped working

I uninstalled Acrobat 8 Professional in the process of finding why it would not print pdf documents received over the internet (prints garbage). When I re-installed it, I found that it does not accept the activation key.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional - will not uninstall

I tried to install this program with Windows 7, 64-bit numerous times and it would not work 100%.  I even downloaded the "patch" file for windows 7, but the program would freeze every single time I opened it.  I have since reverted back to just using Adobe reader, but CANNOT uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.  The uninstall completely freezes about 60-65% of the way through, and I just end up closing it down.  However, I cannot install any new software on my computer because the installer application keeps saying that another program is being installed (Adobe) when in actuallity it is NOT!
Pleeease provide any help as to how I can uninstall this program.  The program is still listed when I got to the control panel and uninstall a program.  I have tried Modify, Repair, & Remove all unsuccessfully.  I have deleted all files from the C: drive except the "Resource" folder, which I keep getting Folder Access Denied and that I "require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this folder."  Well, I am the administrator and the ONLY user on my computer, so I don't know what that is all about.  I am beyond frustration with this, the microsoft forum told me to check here for assistance.

  • Acrobat 7 Professional Uninstall

The Acrobat 7.1 update says that it includes all previous updates and that all you need is 7.0.0.  I have Acrobat 7 Professional on XP Professional that is giving me all kinds of fits.  I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and manually apply updates.  I cannot open the program or any associated with it, distiller, etc.  I am able to apply update 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 and 7.0.3 without error code.  There is no 7.0.4 and when I apply 7.0.5, which is supposed to have previous patches included, I get error message, "No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches."
I get error message, "Internal Error 2716. Comp_PDFmaker_Office" every time I turn on the computer or try to open any window, browser, My documents, Control panel.  The list goes on.  I have uninstalled Office.  I believe I need a cleaner to get rid of all instances of Adobe on my computer.  Any Suggestions? or links?

Do you have Acrobat Reader also installed on your system? If so, you should also remove it using the Windows Install Cleanup Utility. Adobe strongly recommend that you not have Reader installed on the system where Acrobat is also installed.

  • Owner of CS6 Master. Unaccidentally installed Acrobat XI Professional. Was always trial - not upgrade. Uninstalled Acrobat XI Pro. Can I just download the Acrobat X Pro and install it using the CS6 Master License number ?

Hi, I believe I made a mistake when installed Acrobat XI Professional over the CS6 Master version Acrobat X Professional. The result ended up with running a trial version of Acrobat XI Professional. I wanted to upgrade but not using the subscription version, but rather buy the software and own it, like with my CS6 Master Software. Well, I now uninstalled the Acrobat XI Professional and wondering if I now can download the Acrobat X Pro software, install it and use the CS6 Master license number to get going ?
    Kind Regards
    Gunnar

Well. After downloading the separate full version of Acrobat X Professional, it could not be installed using the serial # for CS6 Master Collection. I started the installation for CS6 Master Collection and ONLY selected Acrobat X Professional. Voila! Now everything is working.

  • I tried to uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional big mistake.

I tried to uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional that came on my computer Windows Vista. I did this because every time I wanted to view a document a screen pops up saying I have to buy it. I do not wish to purchase this. I now get an error 1310.  I tried to install the Adobe Reader and it stops with a major problem notice. Says to reinstall. I do not wish to purchase this. I have even blocked all Adobe from the start up menu.

Can you check out the solutions discussed on this thread and let me know if they helped?

  • Error Deploying Adobe Acrobat X Professional over Standard

A while back I deployed a customized installation of Adobe Acrobat X Standard. I used the Adobe Customization Wizard X to generate a MST file that omits things like speed launch and arm and disables some features in the help menu (like updates, repair, etc.) and deployed the MSI via Group Policy. Everything worked fine, Acrobat X Standard is now on every workstation. Later, we discovered that some users needed the 10.1.1 patch, so we patched some systems as necessary.
Due to decisions out of my control, management has now decided that they want to replace Acrobat X Standard with Acrobat X Professional on all workstations. Great! So I generate another MST with my trusty Customization Wizard and make sure to UNINSTALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS. When I try to deploy the new package I get an error on each of the patched workstations...so I try to run the setup manually to discover the following error during the installation of Adobe Acrobat X Professional:
Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate.
I'm no expert on Adobe, but I do know that management shelled out more money for Professional than they did for Standard and according to the website Pro is more "featured" than standard...so with all due respect, Adobe installer you are WRONG!
I don't want to touch each workstation to uninstall Adobe Acrobat X Standard so I can install Adobe Acrobat X Professional. Can someone please tell me how to get around this installer error please? Some registry key that needs deleting perhaps?
    Many thanks in advance,
    David Vielmetter

Well,  you are attempting to uninstall the same code version of Acrobat X Standard with Acrobat X Pro.  That won't work.  You say that you purchased an upgrade from Acrobat X Standard to Acrobat X Pro that doesn't sound right either.  If you decided to get Acrobat X Pro after already purchasing Acrobat X Standard the process should have been to get the full DVD media or the full ESD (electronic service download) from Adobe of Acrobat X Pro and then destroy or return the old software along with a very long legal form that says you are doing just that process.  That's a procurement issue from both ends I would think.  Needless to say the correct way would be to get the full media with the full serial number for Adobe Acrobat X Pro from Adobe.  Then uninstall Acrobat X Standard from your user machines and then install the full media of Acrobat X Pro.

  • Outlook Word editor warnings after installing Acrobat 9 Professional

I recently upgraded from Acrobat 8 Professional to Acrobat 9 Professional. I have Windows XP Pro SP2 and Office 2003. My email writing settings are set to use Word 2003 as my email editor. When trying to generate an email (new, reply, forward), I get the following error message:
A program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this?
You can choose to allow for 10 minutes but when this time expires, you get the same message if you try a new email or if you have one that you are still writing. If I uncheck "use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages" then the problem goes away. I have renamed mfcm80u.dll to try and fix another adobe problem of lifecycle crashing but it did not fix either problems. My main frustration is not being able to easily use word as my editor without warnings every 10 minutes and I know this is directly related to Adobe as it worked fine minutes before I upgraded.
More info - This was part of an enterprise install package and I noticed that it errored out on the uninstall of acrobat 8 but when it rebooted it was gone. My only thought thus far is that it is corrupted but I would like to try some fixes before I go that route.
    Thanks for any help.

I called Adobe and the idots told me to turn off Word as my email editor.  That was not an answer so I googled it and found this.  It appeared to work for me.  Good luck.  Now if Adobe would get their act together.
    Edit Registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\
Outlook\Addins\PDFMOutlook.PDFMOutlookChange the LoadBehavior value from 3 to 2
    Restart
OutlookThe PDF functions will still be available in Word and the other Office

  • Can't uninstall Acrobat 7 in Win 7 XP mode

Badly in need of some advice...
I have Win 7 Professional edition, which has XP mode. I have Acrobat Standard 7.0 installed in XP mode, which very badly in XP mode. So now I've bought Acrobat Pro XI -- but haven't tried to install it because I can't find any way to uninstall Acrobat 7.0 -- it isn't listed in Add/Remove programs (in fact, NO programs that I installed in XP mode are listed).
I've searched (a lot) online and can't find anyone posting about this problem. Does anyone have any idea how to uninstall Acrobat 7.0 when it is installed in Win 7's XP mode?
If nobody knows the answer to this, does anyone know whether installing Acrobat Pro XI with Acrobat 7.0 already on my computer will create problems? -- Will Acrobat XI automatically uninstall 7.0 (even if 7.0 is installed in Win 7's XP mode?!)?
Thanks very much for any help!!

SOLVED! And I can't believe how dense some people can be -- and here I'm referring to me. For anyone who may have this problem, this is the solution I found:
When you've started Win 7's XP mode, you get a plain-Jane desktop screen with icons of the programs you've installed in XP mode. I have searched for a way to get to Add/Remove XP programs, but never could find it. The reason is, at least on my monitor, that I couldn't see the Start button in XP mode. Putting the cursor on the bottom of the screen just makes the Win 7 start button visible. I had to click -- just once -- on the scroll bar in order to make the XP start button visible.
Once it was, I easily got to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs, and there, lo and behold!, Acrobat 7.0 was listed. I uninstalled it easily.
I hope this can help someone else. It sure was frustrating!

  • Slow print from Acrobat X Professional to RICOH Aficio 2018D RPCS printer

    Hello.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Our network printer, RICOH Aficio 2018D RPCS, takes 20 seconds to print each sheet from a PDF document generated by Acrobat X.
It seems the printer considers each sheet as a new document so starts the whole process of warming and so on.
These PDF documents were previously created by Adobe Acrobat X Professional (version 10.0.1), from scanned documents by BROTHER MFC-9840CDW Printer (also network printer), with a laptop running under Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.
    (All legal software, licensed.)
The PDF documents have about 4MB & 140 pages each one.
We tried to fix the problem by changing all these parameters:
    - saving file as "Reduced Size PDF",
    - saving file as "Optimized PDF",
    - saving file as "PDF/A",
    - saving file as "PostScript",
    - printing as image,
    - printing in low quality,
    - opening and printing the document from Adobe Reader X (version 10.0.1),
    but nothing works.
(Adobe Reader was not installed when troubles started. It's uninstalled now and troubles keep going on.)
The RICOH Technician also tried some updates, but troubles are still there.
He printed a PDF downloaded from Internet (similar size as ours) and the printer worked at normal speed!
We also can print the documents at normal speed in the BROTHER MFC-9840CDW Printer.
    I really appreciate any suggestion
(Message in progress. Adobe Reader it's not the problem either.)

    Thank you so much, GilliganBT
... but... I can´t find that option ("Render print jobs on client computers") in my Sharing tabs.
I just have "Do not share this printer" or "Share this printer".
Anyway, I´ll tell that to the printer repairman and I´ll let you know
