  • Is it safe to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 after installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?

Is it safe to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 after installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?  I just upgraded from 10 to 12 and wanted to know if it is safe or if there would be any issues with uninstalling and removing Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.

Yes you can, if you are happy with the way PSE12 is running.
However both apps will happily co-exist, and there is no duplication as both use the same images on your hard drive.
PSE10 also has some features now removed from PSE12 as Adobe transitions towards 64 bit applications. See my PSE12 first look link:

  • Unable to uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS5 12.1.1 via Control Panel (Win7)

I was wondering if anyone can help me we currently have at least 100 users of Adobe Photoshop CS5 12.1 and it is deployed via SCCM 2007. I was able to patch Adobe Photoshop CS5 to v 12.1.1 using AAMEE and we are on the process of having it scripted so it can be pushed to our end users running Windows 7. I was successful in creating a new package using AAMEE but I cannot uninstall photoshop from the Control Panel (Programs and Features) the right click uninstall is disabled. Please note that I am a local admin on the Windows 7 machine that I am working on. Is there a registry key that I need to modify to enable the uninstall feature?
Is uninstallation disabled from the control panel by default when photoshop is packaged using AAMEE?
As of the moment if I need to uninstall Adobe Photoshop I need to run this command ‘msiexec /qn /x ‘Photoshop CS5.msi. I have tried to research on the internet but I was not able to find any solution. I am hoping you can help me when you get a chance
    Thank You,
    William

I have found a solution to this problem. Install the files in safe boot mode. Here is the how to guide:
    Part One:
With past attempts or even previous versions of Adobe CS can be still lying around on your mac, in order to remove the bits and bobs needed in order for a clean install you need to download the 'CS5 Cleaner Tool' by Adobe. This can remove all previous version of CS right back to CS3. This could be the problem effecting you download. This tool can be download from here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/829/cpsid_82947.html
YOU MUST USE THIS TOOL BEFORE MOVING ON TO PART TWO.
    Part Two:
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), do this:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    (Source: Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455)
    Part Three:
Now that you have let your machine boot up in Safe Boot.
        1. Locate the .dmg installation file. This can take a while to load, but be patient.
        2. Click to open the .dmg.
        3. Carry on with the installation as you normally would.
        4. Sit back and enjoy until its 100%.
Once it has installed you can now restart your machine and boot up as normal. Log in and then it should be there in your applications to use.
I have spent nearly 2 days myself trying to figure this out, and finally i have found a solution. I hope this helps anyone who has come across this problem themselves.
    Good Luck,
    John

  • I am trying to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and receive a 1316 error.

I am trying to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and receive a 1316 error.  The account already exists.  What?  I purchased and installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 and want to remove the older version.  Nothing works.

Downloaded the trail versions and installed.  Had to do the trial versions because I no longer have the serial numbers.  Once I reinstalled, I was able to uninstall with no problems.

  • Can't Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0

Thats the error... If anyone can help out with this, i will be much oblidged.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Ok, I have reinstall it, but it still comes up with the same problem.
When i say my key has expired, i meant when i go to activate the software, it tells me access denied. It says the number of activations have been used up so i must activate by phone. I did that, but on the phone, that didnt work either. Acess Denied. So now i want to fully install it off my PC. There is no option for me to unistall it from the folder, theres no drop down from prgram list, and when i do it from add/Remove Programs, it gives me that same error from up above in the first post. Its so strange. I dont understand why its doing this. Usually with a program, i can just click remove, and then its uninstalled. I just dont understand...
I think photoshop has also corrupted my adobe premiere but ive already posted that additional problem in the other forum.

  • Uninstall Adobe Photoshop 9

trying to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and get the dreaded "Erro 1327.Invalid Drive:F:\" - have read a few posts on this but can not seem to get any of them to work.  Any help would be appreciated to identify what I am doing wrong on this uninstall

Not sure if this is going to help you:
    <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327763>
It is a very old solution for Windows 2000 but your case is slightly different because you are uninstalling a product while the solution is for installing a product.
Anyway you can still try it.  Nothing ventured; Nothing lost.
    Good luck.

  • Uninstalling Adobe Photoshop Elements 10

Today I tried to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.  I have Windows 7 on my computer, but I mistakenly started with  Disc 1.    I started to uninstall so that I could start over with Disc 2 as directed for Windows 7.  However, partway through the uninstall, the directions stated that, before uninstalling, I should make sure that I had deactivated and removed any serial numbers used when installing the software on this machine.    HOW DO I DEACTIVATE AND REMOVE THE SERIAL NUMBERS???

    Hi,
This link will guide you through the deactivation process: Deactivate your product.
    Hope this helps.

  • Uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 on Snow Leopard

How do I do a complete uninstall of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.O on iMac and Snow Leopard 10.6.7? Can I do this via some feature within Mac OS?

    And, in general:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead.  Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
    AppZapper
    Automaton
    Hazel
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

This is the command I’m using to uninstall Adobe:

anyone has any idea please please please let me know!

This command will uninstall PSE10 silently -
To uninstall ESTK or other plug-n use Step-4. [These steps are for PSE10 ,apply version as 9 accordingly in commands]

(Windows XP) Choose Start > Run. Enter cmd in the Run window, and press OK.
(Windows 7 and Windows XP) Click Start (Windows-Logo), and type "cmd". Press [Shift]+[CTRL]+[ENTER].
