Uninstall all cs4 apps. except Indesign?
Hello.
I'm running cs4 on mac osx 10.5.8
I would like to free up room on my HD.
I only use Indesign......and would like to keep past projects and create new ones.
I went to start the "uninstall" feature on one of the other apps and it looked like certain adobe things that might be needed for Indesign were listed so I cancelled.
The question is can I uninstall ALL the other apps in cs4 without it effecting past or future indesign projects???

I forget where, it was 4 or 5 yrs back, and the gentelman said I need indesign.............which has been working out for me, I'm not sure if at the thime I could have just did indesign or if the gentleman talked me into cs4..... maybe that. I was probably thinking I could also put out my own stuff on the internet....
also, I play a bit of music so I thought I would be able to you the other apps one way ore another..... I think at the time also,,t here was a sale if you had students...which I did.
Why do I want to make rid of them...
As mentioned I do music also... the pro tools, logic, reason and plugins...well the mac pro I have has a 250g hard drive...........In the readings over the years it was mentioned not to over load the hard drive with apps over a certain percentage.......that turned into haveing 100 g of free space.
I was at about 86g of free space and thought about house cleaning to try to get it to 100....I got it to about 93 g free.....
I'm not having any issues, so I may as well keep the cs4... as Bob mentioned, how much am I really going to free up....

Oh my, before I fade away...........if I removed the mentioned apps, do you think I would pic up 7 g?
And again, if I decided I wanted the apps back, couldn't the discs I have put them back in.or it doesn't work that way anymore???

How to uninstall all CS6 apps at once
Hi there
Since the update yesterday to Creative Cloud my InDesign CS6 crashes on startup. In the CC-aqpp I see both the CS6 and CC version. I can't uninstall all CS6 apps at once & make a fresh start with the CC version do I? I can only uninstall the apps individually. And that costs me a lot of time!

If CS6 is a suite like Design Standard CS6 then you can uninstall all the apps at once from Control panel>> Uninstall a program in Windows or Applications>> Utilities>> Adobe installers in Mac.
However, if the software's were stand alone then you would need to uninstall all of them once by once from the same locations mentioned above.

Running Mavericks on an iMac 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, I've been trying to install Adobe CS3 Design Premium. All components install except InDesign. Is this an installation disk problem, or is there a compatibility problem with the OS?
I fear that you are trying to download OLDER Software on a newer Operating Sysytem Meaning that you need to Install the Latest Version of Adobe on the Newer Operating System for it to work Properly. Be sure to always check the minimum System Requirements.

Print dialog crashes - all mac apps except Adobe despite 10.6.8 v1.1 + supplemental update
When trying to print from e.g. Mail, the usual dialog window appears:
when I hit the blue "print" button, the dialog changes to the following:
an Mail (or Textedit or any other depending on the original Mac OS print dialog) freezes. No printing happens.
Once Mail crashed fully with the report below (scroll down to end of thread).
What I tried so far:
Usual suspects: reset parameter ram, repaired access priveleges, reset print system, tried with a different admin-user => same problem
Further I reinstalled the Mac OS 10.6.8 Combo-Updater version 1.1 and the additional supplementary updater fpr 10.6.8, either brought no healing…
Meanwhile I can not start Safari anymore (crashes without opening).
Only application currently printing is Adobe Acrobat X (obviously avoiding OS' built in printing dialog)…
I have used Onyx for Mac to clean up clutter from my System two days ago, but I did that before without (bad) consequences. Other than that, I only worked as usual…
ANYONE AN IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

I've tried everything I can think of.. resetting print system.. removing.. re-adding.. deleting all of the xerox drivers.. reinstalling... removing ALL preferences...permissions...etc
It does seem to work ok in another User so I'm trying to nail this down inside the Users home folder. -
My laptop hard disk had to be replaced and now I can restart all CS4 programs except Acrobat 9 Pro ?
My laptop hard disk died and had to be replaced recently. I could restart all programs from the CS4 disk with the exception of Acrobat Pro 9? Can anyone advise if there is a different process to restarting Acrobat Pro 9, as it is odd considering there were no issues with the other CS4 software components?
By restart, I assume you mean reinstall. For CS, the installation for Acrobat is somewhat strange relative to the rest of the CS package and requires other parts of CS to be activated or some such aspect. One of the announcements at the beginning of this forum addresses this issue (or used to). Otherwise, I suggest you check in the CS forum.

Documents print from all PC apps, except FileMaker Pro; any clue to fix this?
D110a printer; windows XP; no error, just no action I am learning FileMaker Pro. Nedd to print to labels. Everything prints fine from other apps, but NOTHINg prints from FMP. Anyone have a suggestion?

I went to the apple store and they did a reset on my iPad...I was able to restore all my apps Except Pages and Numbers...those don't appear on my purchased apps at the App Store...how do I restore them...without paying for them again..of course.
If you go into iTunes and sign in and then try to download them again it will let you redownload them. Just make sure you're signed in with the apple ID you used to buy them in the first place.

CS4 Apps not launching after install
Hi,
I have an imac running OSX 10.5.6, with CS2 installed on it. This morning I received my CS4 upgrade discs. The installation ran without a problem. I opened CS4 Photoshop with no problem, then I opened CS4 Acrobat...a window popped up asking for a serial number (odd I thought) so I put in my CS4 serial number, but it didn't work. I decided to restart the machine. After restart none of the apps would launch, they appear in the doc for a few seconds and then close up. Acrobat will launch briefly, but it asks for my computer password, after that it says I need to launch another CS 4 app bc it is part of a suite and acrobat closes. CS4 Bridge is the only app that will launch and stay opened. So with the exception of Bridge and Acrobat (which doesn't really open in the end) all the other apps just appear on the doc for a few secs and then close.
I was on and off the phone with tech support for about 6 hours, installing, uninstalling (CS2 and 4 using maccs3clean) making new user logins, using safe boot, more uninstalling and reinstalling. Then they tell me they are out of ideas and will need to do research and since it's Friday, I won't hear from them again until Monday. Obviously this is a bit aggravating.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I'd almost say the discs were duds, but after that first installation I was at least able to open PS without a hitch, but the trouble seemed to start when I opened acrobat, and it asked for a serial number.

Thanks for chiming in. After several hours of phone time with tech support, they had no answers and said that would have to get back to me Monday. But I’ve found the solution on a forum and it literally took me less than a minute to do. I removed the "FLEXnet Publisher" folder from the Preferences folder that’s within the Library folder. All CS4 apps opened right up without a problem. -
My itunes has stopped playing music. I recently downloaded more music and now it has stopped playing, it says it is playing but there is no sound and the time bar does not move from 0. I have uninstalled all apple apps on my laptop and reinstalled and then updated the software. I have tried 'repair' aswell but nothing has worked.

Downloaded CC for desktop.
Noticed that not all the apps could be downloaded.
Checked my Account details, there were some fields empty. Filled in the missing info.
All apps now could be downloaded from CC desktop.
Downloaded Apps. When I opened them they all are starting in trial mode.
I think I had done all your suggestions you have on your help pages.
Still no joy.

Downloaded them again.
When I open them, same problem.

This is a screen shot from the pull down you'd get if you right clicked on the image in Lightroom 5. I'd like to uninstall all of those listed except the Exposure apps.
Okay - but after that..
I followed the instruction in the tutorial and did the following:
Click Import (Existing Files)
Select source - (pictures appear in grid)
include sub-folders if appropriate
Select “add”
File Handling - Changed build preview to standard
Apply During Import - Nothing added
Add keywords - Added keywords
Import (Tutorial says to click “Import” but import is greyed out and not available)
What am I missing? The destination information does not appear. I tried selecting that before I clicked "Import" but that didn't help.. -
All my CS4 apps crash on launch
I've been running OSX Lion for about a week now with pretty well no problem (except for the Java runtime issue but got around that pretty quickly).
I was happily using Fireworks this morning, closed and restarted it so I could use a font I'd just installed, and found it was crashing immediately upon launch - almost straight after I clicked the dock icon, it would close down again and the crash reporter would appear.
I thought at first that it had to do with the font I'd just installed - so I trashed that and rebooted my mac for good measure. Made no difference. I then tried the other apps and found that none of them were working any more - same thing happening, they'd crash straight after launching. Next thing I tried was creating a new user account to see if this was something to do with my profile, but the same thing happened under a new account as well.
At this point I've pretty well accepted that I'll have to take the time to uninstall/reinstall the suite, but just thought I'd post here to see if anyone else had any ideas before I go that far? I'm also a little concerned about licensing - the uninstaller says that you should deactivate your license before uninstalling the product, but to do that you have to launch one of the apps, which obviously I can't do. While interesting, the information in that article mostly pertains to determining which specific function within the application is causing the crash - which would only really help if the app was launching in the first place and I could avoid using that function
However, I have just had a bit of a breakthrough. I was going through each CS4 app comparing the crash threads for each. I got to Bridge (which I normally never use) and found it launched successfully. Now, the rest of them are launching normally too I'm guessing Bridge works a little differently to the other apps as it probably doesn't have to load so many components to deal with graphics drivers etc. After launching successfully, it corrected whatever condition was causing the other apps to crash.
Very strange, but I'm happy I'm back up and running without having to dig out my install discs

i just recently upgraded my itouch from 4.1 to ios 5, and updated to itunes 10.5. but when i synced my music files,ebooks and other apps, all is working except when im trying to sync my video files. it says, canot be synced as cannot be played on this ipod. but those are the same files that i have when i was using the old 4.1 version and its syncing just fine.. the itunes advanced tab "create iphone or ipod version" is not working either so i cant convert it to be xferred and synced. what can i do to have my video files synced?
i had the same problem but i just got a new video converter and made it convert videos to ipod/iphone format and then put them into itunes. i would suggest GOM encoder as the encoder can convert them and then once they're finished converting, put them automatically into your itunes for you. from there you can just sync them to your ipod.
