Uninstall an OBIEE patch

Dear All,
We have migrated from the OBIEE 10.1.3.2 to 10.1.3.4 by applying a patch. Unfortunately we are encountering numerous critical bugs.
I would like to know how can we unpatch/uninstall the patch and get back to the v10.1.3.2.
I am not familar with this area, all precise idea would be appreciate are welcome. What is a war file ?

Normally, it must be written in the installation instruction.
Of you can go back from a backup.
Of you can simply try to install the last version of OBIEE and transfer the configuration files and the metadata (ie the webcatalog and repository).
You can also ask a little support on the Oracle Support Website : http://support.oracle.com
A war file means Web application ARchive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAR_%28Sun_file_format%29). It's an archive file that you use frequently when you want to deploy an application in an java application server.

Could someone shed some light on the reason that so many of the OBIEE patches found on support.oracle.com are password protected? Is it because they're not yet fully tested?

Uninstall 10 Recommended patch

How can I uninstall Solaris 10 Recommended? I can't found from tech notes and metalink.

Check the log files for the patches installed in /var/sadm/install_data and remove the patches manually. No ready made tools avaiable.

Uninstall Reader X - Patch package could not be opened.

I am trying to uninstall Reader X in hopes that when I reinstall it some other issues will clear up. However, when clicking remove or update in Control Panel, I get the same result. "This patch package could not be opened...." Same message I have seen in a host of other postings.
Can I follow the same general instructions for manual uninstall that are in the knowledge base for Reader 8? Are there any additional steps/registry modifications? I am running XP/SP3.

You could try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove all traces of any existing versions of Reader. This utility is no longer supported by Microsoft because it can conflict with Win 7, but you can still find it in sites like http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459

Uninstall VIA USB-Patch

Hello everybody,
I've got big trouble! After installing the VIA USB-Patch and rebooting all my USB-Devices don't work anymore.
I'm using a 2000 Athlon XP on a KT2 Combo Board with 384MB Sdram PC133.
My Operatingsytem is WinXP Prof. with SP1 installed.
How can I uninstall this patch?

Yes, all USB-device have been worked before I install the Patch.
Some of them are connected to a active USB-Hub.
When the PC boots all USB-Ports incl. Ports of the Hub are active.
Just before the lock-in Menue is shown all Ports shut down.
I think at this time the driver will be activated.
I try to deinstall all USB-Device and reboot.

OBIEE Patches - Weblogic Upgrade also necessary?

I'm working with 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 and I'm planning to upgrade to 11.1.1.6.5 and also to the next releases when they are published.
What I'm asking me. I never thought about patching WeblogicServer. So I use the version which came out of the box with the 11.1.1.6.0 release.
Am I also intended to upgrade Weblogic from time to time. How do you handle that?

enhanced deployment view, diagnosibility and management etch
if you wish fix bunle weblogic bugs then you proceed weblogic upgrad
weblogic 10.3.6 i had some issues: creatting application strip bug, application role mapping with users part issue etc

I am not sure I am following you. How did you determine that +"everything is there?"+ What did you do, exactly, to "reinstall" OS X?"
There are ways to reinstall the previous version of OS X, but I do not want to suggest things until I am sure exactly what you have done and where you are.

Uninstalling Corrupt Software Update Patch

Hi,
I was checking for the method to uninstall any software update patch in case need be. I came across one of the switch to use with the task sequence as below to uninstall any specific patch from systems :
C:\Windows\System32\wusa.exe /uninstall /kb:2781197 /quiet /norestart
where KB number is any patch which we would like to remove. The task sequence gave up the below error in TSAGENT.log but execmgr.log is clean without any errors :

I tried creating a package just to check if that works, however several users have reported that task sequence is the only method that works but as that was not working in my case, so tried the package with a batch file using the same script as mentioned
above but that came up with the below error :
EnterRsRuningState failed to run script PatchRemoval.bat 0x87d01106
If i try to run the same script using the CMD prompt manually on client machine, it successfully removes the patch silently.
Not sure why this is not working as a task sequence.

I am just wondering if i have used the command right (i believe i have), because one of the errors says
On another system where this patch was already installed, there were not eventviewer logs generated for today. There were old logs and one of them was as below :
Windows update could not be installed because of error 2147942487 "The parameter is incorrect." (Command line: ""C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" uninstall KB2914218 quiet norestart ")
Any idea about the below ? What does this mean ?

Please double check your looback adaptor configuration
The issue has been identified as that for some reason there is a hardcoded machine name mistakenly placed in the Solaris version of OBIEE, which is being sent out to be resolved by DNS. This machine name is an internal oracle machine, and so DNS can not find it.
This has been reported as the following bugs:
Bug 12804924 - OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 INSTALLATION FAILS IN CONFIG PHASE WHEN STARTING COMPONENTS
Bug 12790815 - AFTER WHAT APPEARS TO BE A GOOD INSTALL CANNOT RESTART ANY OBIEE SERVICES
Solution:
As a workaround, Add the following entry to the end of your hosts file with a dummy IP address (e.g. 127.0.0.1) and then reboot:
127.0.0.1 stafas12.us.oracle.com stafas12
This should prevent timeout while checking DNS to resolve that non-existing address.

How to Uninstall the RP342 of Tux 8.1 ?

I got a error when I tried to unstall the RP342 of the Tux8.1. Do anyon known how to clean this problem ?

More details on the specific nature of the error would be required in order to advise you what to do.
The most common error when uninstalling a rolling patch occurs if the patch backup files have been removed or tampered with.
When installing a rolling patch, the old version of the BBL would be copied from $TUXDIR/bin/BBL to $TUXDIR/bin/BBL.pbk and the new patched version would be installed in $TUXDIR/bin/BBL. If the patch is ever uninstalled, then $TUXDIR/bin/BBL.pbk will be needed so that it can be renamed as $TUXDIR/bin/BBL. A similar process would occur for each other file that has been patched.
If there is a problem with uninstalling a patch, the best solution is to reinstall the base Tuxedo release in a different TUXDIR and then install the patch level (if any) that you want to install on top of this new directory. If this is successful, then the new installation directory can be linked to the previous TUXDIR you were using or you can set TUXDIR to the new directory.
