Uninstall BOE XI R2

We have a BOE XI R2 version still running on a server that needs to be removed. How can we remove  it without disturbing the other applications that are running on the same server.
Do we use the Windows Add/Remove program or is ther a specific tool to remove the application.
thx.

We have other independent web Applications that are configured and installed on the same server that are using Oracle Database.
There are no other Business Object applications on that server. We just need to do a clean uninstall of the BOE XI R2.
It is a standalone installation that is not being used anymore.
thx

  • How to uninstall BOE

    Hi,
I need help asap, im using SAP BPC 75 for Microsoft version. I need to install the CMS console from BOE in order to "manage security", however I have tried to make the proper install  but I havent succeed. I need to know how to fully uninstall BOE XI 3.1 Premium Version CPU*1 from the server because "remove programs" is not enough, and I dont know which files from the register need to be removed.
    Thanx in advance

    Hi Madhavi,
    Thanks for the response.
I tried to delete all files from registry but the problem remains... I cant enter to the CMS... my user  should me the "administrator's machine"  as well as the password right?
I cant find a valid user to get in.
Any suggestions?  I heard that the installation of the BOE - CMS  for BPC its quite tricky... and I dont know how to make it work.
    Thanks

  • BOE XI 3.1 and CE9 on same server

    Hi,
During a migration from Crystal Enterprise 9 to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 I will be installing XI 3.1 on the same server as CE9 prior to importing the data. During a test run I found that they seem to use the same ports and as a result the second installation (BOE XI 3.1) is unusable. I was surprised that the install wizard didn't pick this up. When I say unusable, I was unable to connect to the CmcApp and was unable to access the Server Configuration from within the CCM.
Question: Is this a known issue and is there a known work around?
I've searched the SAP Support area and this forum but have so far been unsuccessful in identifying similar postings. I am currently uninstalling BOE XI 3.1 so I can reinstall using different port numbers.
    Thanks,
    Mike

The reinstall using different ports resolved the issue, but it also left CE9 in an unusable state. Apparently I need to find a document named "Crystal Enterprise: Troubleshooting a Communication Error" as this talks me through the problems. I found it the other day, but I can't find it now.
Anyway, the solution was to ensure that when installing BOE XI 3.1 that you select different port numbers to those set by default to avoid conflict with previous installations.

  • Update BOE XI 3.1 from FP3.5 to SP4

    Hi.
I'd like to upgrade my BOE on SLES 10 SP2 (x86_64).  Could you please let me know the correct steps?
    <Current Versions>
    BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 Fix Pack5
BusinessObjects XI 3.1 Integration Kit for SAP SP3 Fix Pack5
    BusinessObjects Explorer XI 3.2 SP2 Fix Pack1
    <Target Versions>
    BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP4
BusinessObjects XI 3.1 Integration Kit for SAP SP4
    BusinessObjects Explorer XI 3.2 SP3
According to the 'Update Installation and Deployment Guide - SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 Service Pack 4', BOE XI 3.1 SP4 installation does not support FP 3.5.  I think I will be able to upgrade by the following steps.  Are they correct?
    1. Uninstall BO Explorer XI 3.2 SP2 Fix Pack1 (completely remove BO Explorer).
    2. Uninstall BO XI 3.1 Integration Kit for SAP SP3 Fix Pack5 (go back to BO XI 3.1 Integration Kit for SAP SP3).
    3. Uninstall BOE XI 3.1 SP3 Fix Pack5 (go back to BOE XI 3.1 SP3).
    4. Install BOE XI 3.1 SP4.
    5. Install BO XI 3.1 Integration Kit for SAP SP4.
    6. Install BO Explorer XI 3.2 SP3.
    Thank you very much,

  • BO Edge 3.0 / 3.1 : uninstalling BO platform

    Hello,
We have an Windows/Tomcat installation of BO Edge XI 3.0 (BO platform 3.0 and Data Services 3.0).
We only wish to upgrade the BO platform to XI 3.1, not Data Services.
I find in Relases notes that we must uninstall BO Edge XI 3.0 before installing BO Edge XI 3.1. So I think we'll install BO platform XI 3.1 on a new server and we'll import XI 3.0 content.
But we still want to uninstall the BO platformXI 3.0 from the current server.
Is Data Services still run after that ?
Also Tomcat and DataServices webapps ?
And Metadata Integrator for Impact/Lineage Analysis ?
Anyway can we run Metadata Integrator XI 3.0 with a XI 3.1 CMS ?
    Thank you for your responses.

    Hi,
if you uninstall BOE 3.0 your tomcat deployment gets lost and also your DS Webapps.
    Following ideas:
    1. Disable all BOE 3.0 Services except Tomcat. The binaries will last on the HDD but the Services wont require and more RAM. If you have enough Disc Space, this wont be a problem.
    2. Uninstall BOE 3.0 with Tomcat. Re- run the DS 3.0 Setup and chosse only to install the Tomcat and deploy the webapps.
About Metadata Integrator i have to pass, not quite sure. Isnt that a stand alone installation with also a WebApps and a own Repository?

  • Upgrade or re-install?  CE9 to BOE XI R2, new server has BOE XI old version

We have an old server that's running Crystal Enterprise Reports version 9 and it is the current production machine.
We also have another server that was purchased a couple years ago and BOE XI was loaded on it and the CE9 stuff was migrated to it.  But the migration was never completed and the person in charge of this left and the project has sat since then due to resource issues.
I am now tasked with creating a plan for getting BOE XI R2 loaded on the "new" server and migrating the information from the CE9 server.  There are 2 options that I can see.
    1) Upgrade the existing BOE XI in place to R2.  Would doing this preserve configuration that had already been done?  What problems will be presented by the fact that information was already migrated once from CE9 and everything will need to be re-migrated?
    2) Completely uninstall BOE XI and then reinstall BOE XI R2.  Start from scratch with configuration and migrating information from the CE9 server.
Also, I saw mention in another thread of obtaining the services of a consultant.  We typically do not do that unless it's absolutely necessary.  Would like your opinions on whether this is really complicated enough to warrant hiring outside help or if we should be able to learn what we need from documentation.  The person that did the original migration took training classes and we did not use a consultant.  Thanks for your help.

Well you said the XI environment is old, but if you wanted to an upgrade will keep what you have. We usually recomend migration vs upgrade if a production server is installed but in DEV if all goes wrong, your other option is to reinstall anyway, so might as well try it out.
What I think you will end up doing is migrating from CE9 to XIR2. It's a pretty tall task for anyone to assume they can guide you through a migration of 3 product versions in a simple forum post. This is why it's recomended to use a consultant, as they will get to know your existing environment and all the possible "gotcha's".
The import wizard is your tool for migrating reports, users, groups, folders, and even instances from CE9 to XIR2. You are welcome to perform this on your own and if you have a contract you can always open a message with support if you get stuck.

as "starting" and taking a LOT of cpu..
So,, next step to uninstall and maybe,,reinstall, but NO:
Followed the tid to first uninstall BOE = OK

Then ( which no tid states though ) uninstall the reporting server
    from add/remove program.s... = NO,
    the logger for the uninstall simply states;
    " exceptionjava.lang.illegalargumentexception" regopenkeyex returned 2
tried both commandline and through add/remove = no difference...

Please help, need this to demo the client...

OK what did you use as your system DB in XIR2? Guessing mysql, which is also used for XI 3.1. This could be a conflict as the uninstaller in XIR2 didn't remove this if I remember correctly. This would prevent the CMS from getting installed/configured properly.
You have to correct that 1st and it may be difficult. possibly remove everything and then use SAP notes or open a case with the deployment team to help clean up the OS of any left over software.
If you are able to correct that the issue with designer/deski is that the last successful login info will be cached by default, and until you are able to login successfully again it won't change. Somehow it must have picked that up from the previous version
SP2 won't likely resolve any of this and shouldn't be added until you get your CMS fixed.

  • BOE SAP integration kit issue - Java connector

I am trying to install BO applications on one of the TPC system (TPC5).
BOE XI 3.1 Sp3 (using tomcat)
SAP Integration Kit SP3 win for IA32bit
For java connector i am using files from sapjco-ntintel-2.1.8 (tried using 2.1.9 and 3.0.5 as well)
BOE installation goes thru fine and Java Info view, CMC all works fine
Now when i try installing the integration kit it gives some problem during identifying the java connector
I did save the sapjco.jar file in C:\program files\business object\tomcat55\shared\lib folder as specified in all installation guides
But still it do not identify it properly and says Java infoview might not work properly.
So i still go ahead and see that Java infoview doesn't work. Neither does the CMC.
Though WebI still works fine and can acces data from SAP BI system properly.
I have looked a lot into forums but couldnt find the reason other than placing librfc32.dll, sapjcorfc.dll and sapjco.jar files in respective places.
    (i did register the librfc32.dll using regsvr32 librfc32.dll)
I have tried installing and uninstalling this couple of times.
Also when i only uninstall the integration kit. Somehow the CMS server stops and doesnt start again.
and hence have to uninstall BOE as well. Any trick here will help too.
Could it be the SP3 version of BOE or SP3 version of the integration kit?
    Or
Could I be missing some step?
    Thanks
    Ritesh

    Hi Ingo,
I have installed it couple of times and since it didnt work I uninstalled it along with BOE and Crystal reports.
Now, I again installed only BOE and crystal reports.
I did try installing the integration kit but since it donot recognizes the Tomcat Web application server in the 3rd step
    I donot proceed ahead.
The SAP Java connector file (sapjco.jar) is placed in a folder
    C:\Program Files\Business Object\Tomcat55\shared\lib\
When running the integration kit, in the 3rd step when is asks for configuring the tomcat server it
    has a default path of
    C:\Program Files\Business Object\Tomcat55\
On clicking next it says files not found.
So i change the path to
    C:\Program Files\Business Object\Tomcat55\shared\lib\
On clicking next it brings up a pop message saying
    No Compatible Web Server found.
I stop there and exit the setup process
I tried verifying the version of librfc32.dll which is installed along with the installation of the SAP GUI (710)
Then for the SAP connector i download it from the service.sap.com\connectors the 2.1.9 version for 32bit
And copy sapjco.jar file into the above mentioned folder and
    copy sapjcorfc.dll into C:\windows\system32 folder.
And then run the integration kit.
    Thanks
    RItesh

  • Reporting Services? - sorry, none here

Okay, I updated my Windows 2003 server to ZEN 10.1. I have just the one
server and all of my data and my database are here. The install went
great, very smooth. I've got a couple of issues that I'll address under
    different topics.
Now, I followed the instructions and removed BOE after I did the install
and installed the new version. It failed. Really, not just the error
message that if you dig into the documentation you are told to ignore -
that should really be in the install documentation, not just the admin
    documentation.
Anyway, It looked like the previous install had left some junk behind so
I renamed the ..\boe and ..\boe-publish folders and deleted the old
shortcuts that hadn't been deleted and did the install again. This time
it actually installed some stuff. Lots of stuff but the error message
that the install had failed came up again. So, I ignored it this time.
Restarted the server and had a whole boatload of BOE errors in the Event
log. Opened the Central Configuration Manager tool and discovered that
my CMS and a handful of other services were not running. So, I started
the CMS and the others and restarted again.
.... More BOE errors but the CMS is started this time. Based on the
Event viewer messages, it looks like the SQL service did not though.
And, ZEN still tells me in the Console that 'There is no ZENworks
Reporting Server configured in the Management Zone.'
So, I'm stuck again with reporting. It seems to me that some of this is
WAY more complex than what I need but that there isn't really an in between.
Some of the error messages that are in the event viewer are:
The CMS Server and the Crystal Reports Cache server both started but
    then....
CMS startup: component MySQLAuditDBSS could not be loaded.
Failed to register with the CMS D4Z8BX41. Please make sure the CMS is up
and running. Attempting an automatic retry... (there are several of
    these for different processes).
Some guidance on this would be appreciated.

Grrr... I just read in the instructions to uninstall the old version
after the server upgrade. I did it through Add/Remove programs but it
didn't remove the folders so I renamed them and then did the install.
Obviously this didn't work. I was getting short on nerves the other day
too so I apologize for 'venting' in the forum.
For now, I've uninstalled BOE again using the zrsuninstall.exe and am
going to leave it at that. We don't have Asset Mgmt and so I'm not sure
I want to run all of that on a server that I'm already stressing out
with the rest of ZEN. I can still get some basic query type reports as
    it is.

  • BO 3.1 installation on Windows 7

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone has installed BO 3.1 successfully on a Windows 7 system. If not, are there any plans to make BO compatible with Windows 7 in the near future?
    Thanks.

Ooh, I wish it was that Simple. Yes indeed Win 7 is just another Client OS as far as BO 3.1 is concerned. But so far for me the two have not been able to co-exist happily so far.
Here's the story so far. I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on this box with Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB Ram. I am trying to install BO XI 3.1 Engage Server on this machine.
    Attempt 1 -
    1. Installed Java 64 Bit.  Installed Tomcat 6 64 Bit. Installed MySQL 5.5 64 Bit. Tried Installation of BO 3.1 with the preexisting MySQL and Tomcat. The Tomcat deployment was successful. CCM showed me only the Web Proxy Service. NO SIA. Manually adding SIA wasn't successful. I discovered that with default install BOE installed Mysql 3.51 32 bit. So it wasn't able to connect to my MySQL 64 bit install. Uninstalled BOE completely including Registry and folder. Kept Tomcat as getting it to work with the 64 bit Java was a chore. Removed MySQL too.
    Attempt 2 -
Let BOE install run its course. Let it install MYSQL 3.5 32 bit too. Pointed it to my Tomcat install. Once again Tomcat deployment was successful but no SIA. No Errors but in the log there was error message that translated meant it was not able to lo.ok up my localhost Entry. This was despite th0e fact t.hat My LO0CALHOSTS file .had 127.0.0.1 COMPTER_NAME Entry. Uninstalled BOE Again. This time uninstalled MYSQL completely too.
    Attempt 3 -
Same as above except Let it install its own Tomcat too. Totally shut down my 64 bit Tomcat 6 but did not remove it. Same result as above. Now everything removed again. Will be trying another attempt.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Uninstall DS 3.0 also uninstalls BOE XI 3.0 MYSQL.

    Hi All,
I had an issue where the DS 3.0 repo was pointing to the default BOE XI 3.0 MYSQL installation.
The issue was when I updagred DS 3.0 to DS 3.1 I went to uninstall DS 3.0, the uninstallation processes also went and removed MYSQL that was installed fro BOE XI 3.0.
Could you please confim that this is the correct workings of the unistallation processes of DS 3.0.
    Thank you
    Kind regards
    Hai.

I can confirm that this is what will happen during the uninstall. That bug did cost us some grieve. Fixed in 3.1 (DI 12.1).

  • XI 4.0 Server (Beta), SIA not appearing neither its getting uninstalled

    Hi,
We installed BOBJ Enterprise XI 4.0 Server (Win 64-bit) beta on a Windows Server 2003, Enterprise x64 Edition, SP2 machine.
Already had BOBJ XI 3.1 Server & Crystal Reports 2008 installed & working perfectly fine on this m/c.
    1. The installation finished successfully. BUT SIA is not at all appearing in CCM. Only Tomcat and BW Publisher Service is appearing.
Checked in Task Manager, cms.exe32 & sia.exe32 are running and services.msc console has BOE120MySQL listed & running there. But I believe all these 3 entries are w.r.t already present & working XI 3.1 Server as they would appear earlier also. Moreover setup wizard named MySQL database as BOE140 this time with XI 4.0 installation.
Also, could successfully launch login screens for CMC & BI LaunchPad, but entering login credentials returns No CMS found error.
PS: Did stop XI 3.1 Servers at the time of installation, but had'nt stopped BOE120MySQL service.
    2. Now when I am trying to Change/Remove SAP BOBJ XI 4.0 from Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs, I am getting this error-
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\S...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Am not sure if this is some registry got corrupted problem or what which is not allowing to either Repair or Uninstall the program.
I also think these might not necessarily be XI 4.0 installation issues. Might also be the generic issues with having 2 BOE server installations on same m/c.
    Requesting to please advise.
    Many thanks.

You are better off posting this on the collaboration workspace for the Beta since most people don't have access to this release yet.
Sounds like this is a known issue in Windows already.
AIX/Linux doesn't have these issues, that's my preference.
