Uninstall Bridge CS5.1 or Photoshop CS5 w Bridge in Windows

How can I uninstall Bridge CS5.1?  I have tried to uninstall it everyway I know and all I get are error messanges stating that I cannot uninstall bridge or Photoshop CS5 because I get the error message that the file is open in another application and so cannot be deleted!  I closed everything and still cannot delete or uninstall either program.  I have tried renaming it etc....  I have even tried using administrator override and still cannot delete it. Any help would be appreciated.

That is absolutely NOT the case.  All Adobe upgrades are FULL INSTALLERS.  They will always install the full version without regard to any previous version(s) you may or may not have on your disk.  They do not build on older components, they install the entire new version from scratch.  They leave older versions completely untouched.
The only thing they do in regards to an older version—whether that older version is activated or not—is to read the older serial number.  If they find no prior versions on disk, they will simply prompt you for the old serial number as well as the nwew one.

  • How can I uninstall Bridge CS5 after purchasing Bridge CS6

    Hi,
I have downloaded photoshop CS5 trial. It came with Bridge CS5.1. Now, I have subscribed to Adobe Cloud with Photoshop and bridge CS6. But I still have Bridge CS5.1. How can I uninstall it please ?

You need to uninstall PS CS5.1 and then reinstall CS6 to fix file associations.

  • Uninstall Bridge CS5?

I feel really stupid, but is there any way to uninstall Bridge from CS5 Master Collection?  I've looked everywhere in the Programs and Features module in Windows 7.  I've tried Googling it to no success.  I've easily uninstalled previous Bridges with no problems, but removing Bridge CS5 is driving me insane!
Is there a way to do this, or is Adobe just forcing more bloat on me?

Bridge is, and never was, a seperate program.  It comes bundled with PhotoShop.  So no, you can not uninstall it seperately.

  • Error: Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working (Windows 7)

Photoshop started throwing this error message yesterday out of the blue, I've no idea what, if anything, on my computer has changed to cause it to happen - it's been working uninterrupted for over a year.
I've tried a few things mentioned in other posts and on other forums (removing possible problem fonts, renaming plugins) but my problem seems to be slightly different - Photoshop crashes as soon as it's finished loading, not when opening a file or an image, so I can't get into any menus to disable OpenGL, filters, or change any settings.
That also means that I can't deactivate Photoshop, and I can't uninstall it because Adobe Application Manager throws the same error. Illustrator CS5 now also throws the same error when I start it.

i uninstalled illustrator cs5 yesterday because it was acting funny...it will not install now
Windows 7. just tried Photoshop and it wont open now???

    Tom,
Have you tried reinstalling in the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger)?
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

  • Can't uninstall PS CS5

I've recently purchased an action that uses the oil paint filter included with the Pixel Bender, so I'm trying to learn to use it before I upgrade to a PS CS version that has it. I want to see if it's something I can really get some mileage out of before I shell out on a recent version of PS. With that aim:
I installed PS CS5 as a trial (Windows 7 64-bit), but couldn't get PB installed. So uninstalled CS5 and then installed a trial version of CS5.1. More problems trying to install PB, including installing the wrong version (PB CS4) by mistake. Eventually I got the correct version of PB installed into CS5.1. I also removed the wrong PB.
After using CS5.1 for a day or two my computer crashed, and to get it back up and running I had to go to a previous restore point. I let Windows choose the restore point, so I don't know precisely where in this history of events I got back to.
After the system restore the computer wouldn't run CS5.1. The list of programs under the Start menu shows CS5 as installed (!!), but I can't run it either. I got an error message when I try to uninstall CS5. Immediately after the system restore I couldn't even attempt to uninstall CS5.1 because CS5.1 wasn't listed in the Control Panel Uninstall Programs list.
To re-cap: CS5 was listed as a program in the start menu even though before the system restore I'd uninstalled it, AND it was listed in the Control Panel Uninstall Programs list but wouldn't uninstall.
CS5.1 was also listed in the Start Menu, but NOT in the uninstall programs list. It wouldn't run.
As instructed by the Control Panel, I restarted the computer and tried again. No success.
As instructed in the Control Panel, I then downloaded and ran the CS Cleaner Tool, to get rid of CS5, CS5.1, and the Pixel Bender. The Cleaner Tool reports that it has succeeded.
However, both versions of CS5 are still listed in the Start Menu, and now both versions are also listed in the uninstall programs list.
Neither will run, and neither will uninstall.
Can anyone help? If nothing else, how to get these programs OFF my computer? I really want to see if the oil paint filter is something for me. If I need to I'll try out CS6, but I don't want to proceed with anything Adobe until I can first clean up the Adobe programs I've got, in hopes of avoiding more computer crashes and non-working software.
    Thanks in advance!

Keywords are stored on the image so they will automatically be read by CS6 or any other program.

Can anyone help me with uninstalling the CS5.5 trial version. I thought I had uninstalled it, but it appearst to still be present in my applications folder. I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer.
    Cheers,

When the new version comes in you should be able to simply activate it with the new license key you get. I have never done this, but it is what many others suggest. That means you do not have to uninstall and reinstall. Be sure to do the updates after you have things working.

  • How to uninstall Bridge to do a clean install?

How best should I uninstall Bridge (CS2) and all the other Adobe applications that might have anything to do with Bridge so that I can make a completely new clean install?
I have Photoshop CS2 (with ImageReady CS2) and InDesign CS2.
Separately I have Adobe Lightroom 2.3 but that does not use Bridge at all as far as I know. It even uses a different Camera Raw version.
Thanks for the assistance. I am trying to fix a problem where Bridge will not show me any thumbnails except a bunch of white boxes that are not even the correct number of thumbnails for the folder I am trying to display.
I asked a separate question about white thumbnails with no solutions be found.

    Hi John,
Tried all that - no luck in getting it fixed as the other discussion mentions.
Need to get rid of everything Bridge related so that I get a good fresh clean install. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop trying to get this fixed but to no avail, so thinking I need to really wipe out everything to do with CS2.  Photoshop and Bridge worked for several years, then something happened - probably having to do with the reinstalll of Win XP.
    Thanks for your reply.
    VB
I thought that might be the case.
So your best bet as you say is to uninstall normally from the Control Panel and then manually remove all files and folders related to CS2.
Remember this is not just in C:\Program files
    but also in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0
    and possibly C:\Program Files\Common Files.
I would then run a registry cleaner like CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/

I have to force quit Bridge to get out of it. I tried to uninstall Bridge and re-install it but it did the same thing. Any ideas where to go next?
The fact that I uninstalled Bridge and reloaded it has me concerned as to what to do next.?

You need to force quit all other (real or fake) instances of the Application Manager.  Instructions differ between Mac or Win.
A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CC", but something like CC2014.v.2.2) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
    etc.,

  • Uninstall Bridge CC

As Bridge CC was installing, I found the options button on the CC manager to change the default installation into a folder instead of loose into Applications.  Now I would like to do a proper uninstall/reinstall before installing the other applications from Creative Cloud because I want Bridge to be in the same folder with the others, but don't see how to uninstall.      ~ Jane Mountain Lion

THere should be an uninstall program option in the Win OS, not sure where it is in Mac OS…
There are no uninstallers at the OS level on the Mac.
Adobe, however, has been installing Uninstallers as part of the default Photoshop installation in recent versions. Up until Photoshop CS3, the Adobe Photoshop Uninstaller was installed only in the Applications/Utilities folder.  As of CS4, an alias of the Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS4 application is installed inside the Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS4 folder.  It's still in the Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6 folder.
Up until the CS6 Perpetual License release, there was no Bridge uninstaller.  You have to uninstall Photoshop in order to uninstall Bridge.
I have no clue what happens in the Cash Cow subscription model, though.  Just though you'd find this interesting.  :-p

…No matter where you install it there will always be some files on the C drive, or root drive on a Mac…
It's not the "root" drive but the BOOT drive on a Mac, usually called "Macintosh HD" unless and until the user re-names it.

  • Is it possible to install Adobe Web Premium CS5.5 on a Windows 8?

I have purchased Adobe Web Premium CS5.5 as a Student version.
Currently I run it on a Windows 7 PC.
I want to buy a new notebook and wonder whether it is possible to install my Adobe Web Premium CS 5.5 on a Windows 8 PC?
Alternatively, is it possible to use my Adobe Web Premium CS 5.5 on a MAC?

    Dear Eshant_Jindal,
    thanks for your answer.
And is it possible that I use my current license for a MAC? I am not sure whether I have bought a WIN license or a general license?
I know that the system requirements of Adobe Web Premium CS 5.5 do not specify Windows 8.
This is why I have contacted you. So there is no better answer than “Try it”? Does it work on an average Windows 8 computer? Which system constraints need to be regarded?
As I have not bought the new computer, I could pay attention to any system constraints that could endanger the installation of Adobe Web Premium Cs 5.5.
    Best regards
