Uninstall CS6 to use CC?

Do I need to uninstall CS6 to install the same programs via CC?

No and if you need to work with anyone still on CS6 you should leave it in place and use it for those jobs.

I have just purchased a new iMac and have uninstalled cs6 from my old iMac. Do I just install CS6 as normal or do I need a new code. My licence is for one user

Yes, just install as you normally would using the serial number you originally used.
You did not have to uninstall on the old machine - with your single user license you are allowed to have two activated installations.  So feel free to reinstall it if those are the only two machine you plan to have it on and you'd like to have a backup installation.

  • Uninstall CS6 applications

As part of the troubleshooting to install Creative Cloud apps, it was suggested by Adobe staff to uninstall CS6 applications, download CC apps, and re-download the CS6 apps.  Although hesitant, I tried uninstalling a CS6 app I never use (Dreamweaver).  Going to through the Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS6/uninstall Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 path, I started the uninstall.  Adobe Application Manager and then became unresponsive.  What is going on with these Adobe products that I can not install CC apps and now I can not uninstall CS6 apps?  With all of these issues I am having, I am becoming very discouraged.  I love using Adobe products, but this is getting to be a bit ridiculous.  I am so fearful that if I am able to uninstall the CS6 apps, I will not be able to install CC apps or reinstall CS6 apps given the recent history of problems I have had.
Here is a list of things I have tried thus far.  May not be in order since they are from memory and some have been tried multiple times.
    Deleted folders/files in /tmp folder
    Uninstall Adobe CC apps
    Uninstall/Reinstall Adobe Desktop Manager
    Run Cleaner tool
Rename suggested folders to old_OOBE and etc
Tried direct downloads of CC apps
Tried download from website, app downloads through manager, stalls at 42%; setup using 100% CPU
Tried terminating Adobe CEF Helper (all 4 of them) during setup, none will terminate.
Verified and repaired disk using disk utility
Verified and repaired permissions using disk utility
Deleted HEX folder containing Adobe CEF Helper files and tried install again.  (did this on a whim since I tried just about everything else)
    Cleaned up Adobe ID credentials
Tried uninstalling CS6 app (Dreamweaver) to test if I could reinstall CS6 apps.  Failed
I have no idea what else I can do.  Any ideas, suggestions, step-by-step guides, anything that will help me get CC apps on my MacBook Pro will be greatly appreciated.
Just some additional information.  I was able to download/install LightRoom 5 and I did download/install 3 fonts.  Sync works fine.  Just can not install/uninstall any apps.

Bstouff I would recommend reviewing the installation log files to determine the exact error which is preventing the installation from occurring.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret that installation log files at Creative Cloud Help / Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC.  The process is the same for both CS6 and CC 2014 Adobe applications.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover.

  • Uninstall cs6 CS6servicemanager win7 error

Hi after uninstalling CS6 premiere and encore and all others...even using the cleaner tool.
I got the same error message after every boot (WIN7) CS6serviceManager.exe could not start... missing file: VulcanControll.dll
I do not want any Adobe Software on this computer right now...
    What happens here?

Run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

  • How to uninstall CS6 suite when moving to CC

So I downloaded all the CC apps and installed them and now I was to uninstall the CS6 apps to free some space on my HDD.
I had CS6 with creative cloud subscription, and not a disk version, so when I go in the application/utilities/adobe installers folder I don't have a uninstall cs6 icon but only icons to uninstall the software one by one, like uninstall photoshop, or uninstall after effects...
So my question is; has anyone in that situation found out a way to uninstall all the CS6 apps at once instead of doing it one by one.
    Thanks.

    Hi antoinefromparis,
If the CS6 installed on your machine is a part of subscription and not a part of Suite and has been installed using Application Manager then you will only have the option to uninstall it one by one. We can only uninstall CS6 at once if it has been instaled as a part of suite.

  • Can't uninstall CS6 (PC)

    Hi Folks --
So, a year ago I ordered CS6 InDesign but found it locked up/froze when using a critcal library (1000+ items) I had in CS2 InDesign.
Adobe was kind enough to refund my purchase and I tried to uninstall CS6 without complete success, but I was able to go back to CS2 so I didn't care.
Now, I'm really biting the bullet and regenerating the library. I've deleted CS2 successfully but not CS6. I get this...
...and I've run the Cleaner Tool (several times) but not luck.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks...Cris

Hi Mylenium. I don't know how to get you the exact config. OS is Windows 7 Home Edition, 64 bit.
I don't think I have install logs as I'm trying to uninstall it and had installed it a year ago. The error shown in the screen shot happens after just a second.

  • Is it okay to uninstall CS6?

I've been using Photoshop CC happily. However I'm not able to change file type associations to CC: it keeps defaulting to CS6.
Is it safe for me to uninstall CS6? Will I then be able use CC as a file type association?
    Thanks.

Do be aware that if you go to DVD or BluRay you MUST keep Encore CS6 since there is no Encore CC
CS6 is the final Encore http://www.adobe.com/products/encore/faq.html
Also be aware that Encore is NOT supported for Mavericks (see note inside above link) and some people are having problems

  • How to uninstall CS6 Indesign and Photoshop silently?

    Hello,
We have a situation where we have to uninstall CS6 Indesign and Photoshop from dozens of computers. I would like to do this silently using Psexec or SCCM. So far I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. We have installed both using a msi file and I have tried command "msiexec.exe /uninstall C:\Temp\Build\indesigncs6.msi /quiet" for indesign but nothing happens. When taking the quiet command away I get an error saying "This feature can only be used to programs that have been installed". The error message has been roughly translated from Finnish so it probalbly isn't excatly the same in English versions. Obviously this computer has Indesign installed.
    I have also tried the PDApp.exe, but haven't been able to run that silently either. Command I've tried is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDApp.exe --appletID="DWA_UI" --appletVersion="2.0" --mode="silent" --mediaSignature="{CFB770D7-8D43-1014-922B-CC2715FADE3F}"
Is there a person who has successfully been able to silently uninstall Adobe Indesign or Photoshop CS6? If there is can you please tell us how to do it?

Thanks for answering. I tried to contact Adobe Support, but could not find out how to do that. I went to the Adobe Contact site and filled in what kind of problem I have and it just suggests that I ask from the community. If I try anything else it just leads me to the beginning.
You are absolutely correct that the CC Cleaner Tool is the way to do this. I have been able to generate cleanup.xml and used it. The problem is that the tool only finds Adobe Photoshop CS6 Driver version 13.0, Adobe Indesign CS6 Application Base Files version 8.0 and Adboe ID Credentials. It deletes these very efficiently and quietly. Problem is that it does not uninstall the whole program. For example all Adobe programs are still in the Start Menu and the Indesign folder is still found where it used to be. Have you any experience on this kind of problem?
    Thank you in advance
    Regards

  • Do I really need to install/uninstall CS6 (keeping Encore) to burn my Premiere CC project 2 DVD?

Do I really need to install/uninstall CS6 (keeping - super secret does not exist on the radar - Encore) to burn my Premiere  Pro CC project  to DVD?  Is Adobe f**king serious?

Yes... except you do not NEED to uninstall PProCS6
There is NO EncoreCC, so it is use EncoreCS6 or a different program

  • How do I move from a box license version of Adobe CS6 to a cloud license? Do I need to uninstall CS6

    Hi All,
We have a user who currently has a box (serial key) version of Adobe CS6 installed on his machine. We now have a number of cloud licenses available and I want to move hm to a cloud license so that we can install the apps available from the cloud.
Do I need to uninstall the previous version of Adobe CS6 and then re-install from the cloud or can I just re-license the software using the creative cloud for desktops application?
    Many Thanks
    Paul.

There is no need for it. You can run CS6 Perpetual and CC on the same machine without uninstalling CS6.

  • Installing CC, uninstall CS6?

Just installed my first CC app (Dreamweaver), went well.  I am a CS6 Design Premium convert.  Compliments to the designers, launched Dreamweaver CC and all my sites were there, no need to re-enter all the info.  I have a question, may be a simple one, but don't want to go forward without asking.  Now that I've made the leap to CC, should I unstall CS6 completely?  I'm tending to do it one app at a time to make sure all goes well but that's using a lot of disk space to do it that way (not hurting for space, BTW).  They (Adobe) may have made some mods already because this install seems to have gone smoother.
    Thanks for any input.

    Hi Tom,
You may uninstall CS6 if you do not want to use the version and to save the disk space.
However, you would not face any issues if you have both the versions installed together.

Thanks.  Now that I've successfully done it I don't know what my hesitations were.  After the uninstall there were still some files/folders of the CS6 apps.  I tried to be careful when deleting as some include files used by other apps (according to AppCleaner).
