Uninstall from Mac

Can someone tell me how to uninstall Adobe Reader 11.0.06 from my Mac (OS 10.8.5)?  All my PDFs downloaded from Safari 6.1.2 are opening in Reader and I don't want them to.

I found the plug-ins, Test Screen Name, thank you!  I was in my user library and apparently that was incorrect.  I've gotten rid of the plug-ins.

    I've just used Adobe Connect 6.5 for the first time
    on Mac OS 10.4. It's a disaster for two reasons: first, I was
    unable to share anything; each time I tried the system crashed.
    More importantly, the installer seems to have hidden
    something on my disk that brings up my Mac in grayscale mode. I
    tossed the two connection files in the trash, I've checked system
    preferences, but I can't find what Adobe did to my system.
    I want to uninstall this software, undo the damage it's done,
    and return my MacBook to its previous working condition.

    Well, that's pretty clear. The problem is that Adobe
    enables but does not cause the error.
    Symptoms: after log in and password, the Mac suddenly changes
    from color to greyscale. I did as complete an uninstall as I could
    by searching for "connect" and removing files and directories
    related to "connect65."
    However, when Adobe installed the "sharing" plugin, it takes
    me to the "Universal Access" system preference panel; it told me to
    enable Universal Access. While that panel was open I managed to
    accidentally check the "grayscale" checkbox on the display page.
    So this isn't strictly an Adobe error. It's more of an
    "enabling" error, in that Adobe didn't tell me which checkbox to
    check on the panel and I managed to hit the wrong one on the away
    to the right one.

    I have adobe premiere elements 9.  I have 2 copies on mac and one on pc.  I have had issues with one mac and have tried to deactivate or uninstall.  I have opened a project to access deactivate and get an error.  I have tried to uninstall with adobe uninstall and get a message to download and run the cleaner tool and am still unable to deactivate or uninstall.  I can't reinstall and uninstall because the DVD player is not working.  I rang phone support to be informed that there is no longer phone support for this version.  Can anyone help me please as I need to install on the new computer

    With one license you can have 2 installs normally. I have one PREL9 on Mac and one on my PC laptop.
    When my PC crashed 3 months ago, I had the same issue as I wanted to uninstall the Vista install and
    the PC had crashed. So I contacted the support by chat (I am in Europe), and they verified my license number then
    modified temporarely their database to allow me to install PREL9 on my new laptop.
    Things worked fine. I encourage you to try this way to solve your problem.

    Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

    I installed a Virtual PC (7 version) machine on my mac system yesterday but I found it cannot work because the compatible issue, my system is OS X mountain lion. It is always saying "Power PC applications are no longer supported". Now what I want is just uninstall Virtual PC from my mac and I do not want to bother using it. Because what bothers me is that the panel show in the Finder is not like previously shown. There are not the left favoraties column shown any more. I cannot go to the right folder to see files and it create so big trouble! I just want everything back. Another thing is that everytime when it starts up, there will be a box pop up saying like "the virtual machine cannot start up because the setting is not right" things like this. I guess the Virtual PC disorder some settings in OS X system.
    So I only want to unistall this Virtual PC. I guess it can not be remove by just simpy delete the icon in applciations, am I right? I find the "Uninstal Virtual PC" icon in the dmg package, but when I dounble click it, it also shows "You can't open the application "Uninstal Virtual PC" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported"! which drives me crazy. Does anyone know about how to uninstall Virtual PC from mac for this situation? I appreciate your help.

    I just followed the instructions and clicked contunue.  I guess I just finished part 1, the installing part. The details are:
    section 1: installing virtual PC
    section 2: setting up virtual PC
    section 3: setting up windows
    In Section 1 you will install the Virtual PC for Mac application and supporting files. You will need to restart your computer at the end of Section 1.
    Section 2 covers personalizing Virtual PC for Mac and the installation of Windows.
    In Section 3, you will configure Windows."
    I clicked continue to let it install (section 1). After that, Mac restarted and it never asked me to set up virtual PC. All the problems aboved mentioned came up afterwards.
    Did I do anything wrong?

    Depends on how you do it
    If you create a partition with Boot Camp and format that partition correctly
    Then install Windows your data should not be touched
    If you do anything wrong or there is any mishap during the whole procedure you could lose everything
    Hence the reason I suggest that you backup first

  • Mac App Store keep request for update an application that I already uninstall from my MBP?

    I updated my mbp to 10.6.6 which come with mac app store. I was so happy to get myself some apps there. eg: DropCopy (free) and some games of course. After given some try, i decided to uninstall DropCopy from my mbp, and also the related .plist files. Few weeks later, when DropCopy come with an update, i found that there are an update notification from mac app store. I've tried to update then uninstalled it again, the update notification still there! I've write an e-mail to the developer, they replied that's a bug come from mac app store and they can't do anything to solve that. So i decide to wait for an update from Apple. When it come with an update to 10.6.7, I get my mbp updated for sure. However, the problem still there! The mac app store still appear an update of DropCopy even I've already uninstall it from my mbp. How can i solve it or remove the update notification?

    iTunes is currently having problems in reference to the apps. If you have icloud, then toggle contacts off/on. If not then restore from itune backup

    I am getting a strange behavior on the Mac and see if anyone

    First, I deployed a
    "version 1" application and installed on the machine with
    customeUpdateUI=true, when the app install, it will attempt
    to update using
    Updater.update() in the following manner,

    The problem I have is re-install.
    On Windows, if you uninstall "version 1", then install
    "version 2", works great
    On a
    Mac, if you uninstall "version 1", then install "version 2"
    fails, error message for "version mismatch".
    It seems there is still something left behind on the Mac when
    uninstall the app, such that when I launch "version 2" install, it
    is still attempting to run update from the local installed app,
    rather than the update from the new installed .air file.
    Anyone have similar issue? How to uninstall an AIR app on the
    Mac? Do I just trash the App directory, or do I need to perform
    additional clean up?
    Besides trashing the app directory, I also tried to delete
    anything suggest to me is Adobe AIR related info, including,
    /User/Library/App Support/Adobe
    /User/Library/Preferences
    /Library/App Support/Adobe
    Please don't hesitate to let me know if anything I can
    provide to identify this issue.

    The case is on the Mac, suppose my app is call myApp.air
    1. Run myApp.air, install version 1, works great
    2. Make a new myApp.air, name it version 2.
    3. Run myApp.air, upgrade version 1 to version 2, works
    great.
    4. Uninstall version 2 by delete the installation folder. For
    example, if I install on /Users/MyApp, delete the folder and empty
    trash.
    5. Install version 2 myApp.jar, error message complains
    version mismatch.
    On windows, I can uninstall from Control Panel. On the Mac, I
    don't know how I should remove an AIR app, and so I just went ahead
    and delete the app install folder.

    Can you please describe what happens when you try to install Skype? I've found one common issue people have is that they don't actually fully install it - a lot of people download it, open the downloaded image, and run it from there - and dont actually ever copy it to their Applications folder, so next time they look for it, it can't be opened. Try again from scratch - go to the Skype website, download the file, if it doesn't automatically display the Skype disk image on your Desktop, go to your Downloads folder, locate the Skype download and double-click it to open, then, open a new Finder window and drag the Skype application from inside the disk image to your Applications folder. Once that's done you can trash the disk image. Go to your Applications folder, find Skype and launch it. Let me know if you get stuck.
    As John says, it would be very helpful to know exactly which Mac you have. If its a laptop, you probably have a MacBook Pro, not a Mac Pro, which is a very large, heavy silver box and not amenable to being dragged around Australia!

    I think I resolved this! I had the same issues you have been having for a few months. I am actually running Vista. Here is what I did...
    1. While booted to Windows I uninstalled boot camp
    2. Re-installed boot camp from Leopard DVD
    3. Installed boot camp update 2.1 (downloaded from Apple support, i know this is for XP only, but I updated anyway.)
    4. Downloaded the realtek drivers (high definition audio codecs) from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/
    5. DO NOT use the Realtek installer to install the drivers...instead extract the contents to a folder.
    6. Go to the device manager, locate the High Definition Audio device and updated the drivers from here (point to the folder where you extracted the drivers).
    I now have sound out of the rear jack!! Hope this help someone

    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums. I see you are running into some fax issues with you HP Officejet 8600 since upgrading to the Mac Yosemite 10.10 Operating system. Please go ahead and get started below:
    Scrub/ Uninstall
    • Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
    • Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
    • * Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers. Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
    • Click uninstall.
    Reset Printing System
    1. Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
    2. In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.
    3. Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
    4. Click OK to confirm the reset.
    5. Type the correct Name and Password.
    6. Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
    Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol..
    Repair Disk Permissions
    1.On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    2.Double-click Disk Utility.
    3.Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
    4.Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
    5.Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.
    Restart the printer. Now you can download and install the printer software and install it. Click on the link below to begin the download and follow the on screen instructions:
