Uninstall labview manually

Ok so here is another thread to add amongst the sea of other uninstall issues.  I have attempted to locate a similar issue, but I didn't turn up anything that could help me.  As a disclaimer, its ok to laugh at this one.
This thread also starts similar to some others.  I made a boneheaded decision to delete the main folder "National Instruments."
(The reason for actually doing so is because I have a professional edition and a student edition.  I wanted to keep these both separate by their respective licenses but my first pass at installing didn't work.  I let them both install to the main folder and figured that they would use their own serial numbers :: WRONG ::.  So then I decided that I would put the system into SAFE mode, move that folder, and reinstall the professional version (which sucks to have the STUDENT version watermark when it will be used to create files for customers.  This installation failed ... and well the end story is that I ended up deleting both the folders <new and old> and wanted to start fresh.  I am aware of the registry, but thought everything would just "over-write" itself.  Wrong wrong wrong.)
So there ya have it.  I'm sitting on top of a pile of #### I made for myself.  I have nothing in the add/remove program list, no uninstaller, a mess in my registry, and nothing will install (since it thinks its still magically there!).  So, essentially MAYDAY!!  This is a brand new computer and I ultimately want to have both versions of labview (and kept separate by their serial numbers).  I would appreciate any and all advice.   I've learned my lesson, so please don't remind me .
Thanks.
I currently run windows 7.  The labview versions are 2010 (professional) and 2011 (student).

Hi Jared,
Those methods did not help...
The KB article basically said "Try uninstalling the right way".  The "Right Way" was broken.  Windows just popped up and said that the NI software was no longer installed, and adsked if I wanted to remove the link in the menu.
MS Fixit might work.  However, when you load it, it lists all your NI installations separately, and doesn't let you choose to uninstall more than one at a time.  As I installed the Dev Suite (ALL OF IT), I don't have the time and patience to walk through that process for all 50 (or 100? 200?!) installs.  Clearly more than just part of LV2011 was not working.
As this was a new windows installation, I chose to reformat and start over.
A quick note:  System Resore is no help here.  Each install element creates a new System Restore Point.  As you only have a limited number of SRPs, the NI installer quickly blows away the previous good one.  If you turn off SR, Windows deletes the existing SRPs.  This is also unhelpful, although it makes the installation process move faster.

  • Can't Uninstall Labview Run-Time engine 6.0

I've uninstalled Labview 6.0 however, Run-time engine is still listed under the Add/Remove wizard in windows. I've manually unistalled it successfully but, it reappears, even after reboot.
How do I uninstall it for good?
    thanx,

    J-Tek,
I would suggest re-installing the Run-time Engine and then uninstalling it after a reboot. Also, you can download a program called Msicuu.exe (for NT, 2000, XP or Msicu.exe for 9x) to help clean up the registry for uninstalled programs.

  • How to completely uninstall labview from one computer and avoid to occupy the licence

    Hi,

use NI License Manager to de-activate the license.  That will free up the NI database entry so that you are OK to activate the same license on a new machine (you really don't need to uninstall LabVIEW- the lack of activated license will prevent use.)  As I remember reading the License Agreement, you can do this up to 4 times per year.
If you do not have access to the old machine (say, because it fell off the roof or something like that) call NI service and they can manually delete the activation.

  • Uninstall LabVIEW but leave run-time engine and DAQmx

Hoping there is an easier way to do this, basicall we are developing software on a customers computer that we buy and will eventually ship to them. However we can't ship them LabVIEW so we make an executable and just keep the run time, DAQmx and MAX. Is there anyway to do this easier than uninstalling LabVIEW and reinstalling everything else?
    Windows 7
    LV2013

Under Windows, try going to Control Panel | Programs and Features and find National Instruments Software. You might be able to select all except the run-time, DAQmx and MAX, then select uninstall. If not, then perhaps consider just making a full installer for your LabVIEW executable solution, this will clearly install only the necessary components for your code to work (if it's LabVIEW 2013).

Try removing the current Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, then install 11.0.07 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • How can I uninstall Labview run time engine from the machine?

I understand that Labview has not given any provision to show customized 'License Agreement screen'. Isn't it? This is the main cause of my problem. Since I want to show our own license agreement (LA) screen, I made the one using Labview. To show this license agreement screen, I first install a small application which has only this LA screen with Labview run time engine. The customer can see License Agreement Screen with Labview Run Time Engine on his machine. If My customer accepts the LA, I will install the main application further by calling another setup.EXE file.
If my customer selects 'Do Not Agree' to the LA, I will quit the installation process. Here I also want to 'uninstall' Labview Run Time Engine
from his machine since he doesn't accept License. I would like to know how to uninstall Labview run time engine from his machine?
Another way which I could think is to run the LA screen from the CD with Labview run time engine on the CD. I will start installing the main S/W to the customer's machine with LABview Run Time Engine only after he accepts License agreement. I would like to know how to run the Labview application from CD without installing run time engine on the target machine?
Can anyone suggest solution to my problem?
    Thanks,
    Chander

  • How to uninstall Labview 8.5 once 8.6 has been installed

How do you uninstall Labview 8.5 once 8.6 has been installed with windows XP as the OS.

You should be able to remove the programs with 8.5 in the title from the Add/Remove Hardware sections. However, the recommended method would be to do a complete uninstall and then install 8.6 fresh. This will make sure you have the most complete and stable installation.

  • Error 1612 when uninstalling LabVIEW 2009

    Hello,
I'm trying to uninstall LabVIEW 2009 from an Acer tablet running Windows 7.  Whenever I attempt to uninstall it though, I receive error 1612.  Also, I'm not doing any weird methods of uninstalling; I'm following what the NI website says to do!  When looking at previous topics that discussed this issue, none really seemed to come to a clear solution and I'm not sure yet if using a 3rd party program is the way to go.  Have any new solutions to this problem appeared?  I need to uninstall LabVIEW 2009 so I can install the 2014 version on it.  That way I can move a program that I wrote on my personal laptop to my lab's tablet.
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Amy

You don't need to uninstall 2009 to install 2014.  That said, it sounds like something is corrupt.  As counter-intuitive as it may sound, you might try installing 2009 from the command prompt using the command:  setup.exe /reinstall
That will force the installer to overwrite registry entries and the such.  After that's complete, you should be able to uninstall.

    Hi AI996,
Thanks for your post and I hope your well today.
If the add/remove programs didn't successfully uninstall LabVIEW. Then you could try using the MsiBlast.exe.

Just make sure you don't have it open or any code running (check Task Manager to make sure no LabVIEW tasks are running).
    Hope this helps,

  • Uninstalling LabVIEW after an application (EXE) build

    Hello,
I couldn't find any instructions for this. I have a LV project and build specification application.exe ready made. Now I want to uninstall labview and delete all VIs but keep all necessary components which are needed to run the application.exe. How do I know which are needed and which not when I start the uninstalling procedure? I use at least DAQmx and Vision Builder AI components. I can see items under Dependencies that VIs under a target require but it doesn't tell me what I need to uninstall.
    Best Regards,
    Jick

I don't want to sound rude, but it takes you under 1 min to create an installer. Removing LabVIEW will take minutes, if not an hour, since the uninstaller remove module after module after module.... and so on.
In your project window, right-click on Build Specifications and select Installer.
In the Installer window, fill in desired information and where you want your build to be created.
Then add your source files (your .exe file) and where you want it to be installed.
Then add the run-time engine under Additional Installers.
Then remove your whole Labview if you want. And as mentioned in a previous post, run your installer after. You then install your .exe file together with the run-time engine. Note that if you use DAQ you should add the driver too, together with the run-time engine.

  • Error 1722 when uninstalling Labview run-time engine 7.1.1

I have been trying to uninstall all NI software so I can start off with a clean slate. I have been going to the control panel under add/remove programs to remove the NI stuff. Everything is gone except the Labview run-time engine 7.1.1. Everytime i try to remove it, i get teh 1722 error followed by the 1603 error. I've tried repairing it but I still get the same results when i try to remove it agian. I've also tried removing it with MSI Blast. This did not work either. I've gone through the registry and manually deleted anything related to NI and that still didn't work. Is there anything else I could try?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hey Steve,
I have tried repairing it through the control panel.
I tried reinstalling just the run-time engine and it said it was already installed. So I reinstalled Labview 7.1 and repaired the 7.1.1 run-time engine through the control panel. Then I uninstalled everything. Thanks for all your help
    Thanks again,

  • Uninstalling Quicktime Manually

I just jumped through a hundred hoops trying to get my iTunes to work again after an update. There was no error message, but there was a message that said an old version of Quicktime (7.0d.0) is installed and iTunes requires a newer version.
The problem was, that when I installed iTunes the newest version of Quicktime came with it and was installed the same time as iTunes.
So, writing over top of the older version did not work. I went to Add/Remove and Quicktime was not listed. I tried installing the stand alone version of Quicktime, but that did not work either.
There was no uninstaller in the Quicktime folder in Program Files either.
I did without Quicktime and iTunes until today, when again I tried to get them working. Neither of them would work after much work. I even tried manually deleting anything to do with either of them from the registry, but they still would not work, because somewhere in the regisrty an old version file for Quicktime was still registered.
I was going through my Start menu and burried deep inside several folders I found the only uninstaller for Quicktime on my system and ran it. That did it. It unregistered the old version allowing the new version to function.
This has happened to me before and I could not remember how I came across a fix.
In case this happens again, and while all this is fresh on my mind, I want instructions on how to properly do a manual uninstall of Quicktime, that I can stash away for a rainy day.

  • Install crystal repport 2011 client hungs and how to uninstall it manually

    Dear Experts,
i want to know whether there are some way to uninstall crystal report 2011 client manually?
IT has re-image my OS to win7 with crystal 2008 viewer on my laptop, and when i installed crystal report 2011 client i didn't notice that i have crystal 2008 installed on my laptop.
After i click on the setup program of crystal report 2011, the install window didn't tell me there is an old version, so i continue to install it but stuck at "tp.microsoft.msxml-4.0-core-32,14.0.0.760" steps for most 5 hours( no error messages, just seems stopped at there). I wish to cancel it, but the cancel button is greyed so i have to kill the process in task manager. After that i re-tried the installation and use remove feature to uninstall my crystal 2011, it succeed.  I reinstall it again and it stucks at .microsoft.msxml-4.0-core-32,14.0.0.760 again(i suspect maybe the 2008 impact the installation, still don't know which can impact here. I found one post SAP CRYSTAL REPORTS 2011 installation error has problem while install cr 2011, but i didn't get any error.)
Then i found i have a crystal 2008 viewer installed so i uninstalled it , and reinstall crystal 2011, but i got errors like runtime error.
Could any one help here how i can manually uninstall the crystal 2011? The setup program is not working for me anymore.
    Thanks a million.
    Sophie

As far as I know, there is no seperate uninstaller for Crystal Reports. You can try couple of options as below:
    1) Download Microsoft Windows Installer and Cleanup Utility, install and try to remove CR 2011 using this utility
    2) If option 1 doesn't work, you could try the following steps at your discretion:
Uninstall the Program using available method
Go to Registry Editor and remove any Businessobjects or Crystal Reports reference under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > " and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE >"
Go to Program Files and delete any folders on Crystal Reports. Also check under Common Files

  • Crash deploying library after uninstalling LabVIEW 2009

I have been running LabVIEW 8.6 with the DSC module. Recently I briefly installed LabVIEW 2009 for evaluation, then uninstalled it. Now version 8.6 crashes every time I deploy a library. I have tried repairing, uninstalling and re-installing 8.6 with no success. The crash message says the problem is in msvcr71.dll. There are many copies of various versions of msvcr*.dll all over my computer and I am not sure where the problem lies. Can anyone help?
