Uninstall Media Encoder CC and CS6?

After running the uninstaller in the drop-down menu for Adobe Media Encoder CC (OS X 10.10.2), I am still left with a the Adobe Media Encoder CC.app and a Configuration folder (1.89 GB). O.K. to just delete the whole thing?
I also have Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (721.4 MB), which if I remember correctly did not have an uninstaller. O.K. just to delete the entire folder too?
Thank you,
David

As I mentioned I did use the uninstaller for Adobe Media Encoder CC, although I don't think there was one for Adobe Media Encoder CS6.
Maybe Adobe Media Encoder is required for some of the other applications? (I only have Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop installed.)

  • How to uninstall Media Encoder CC in Mac OS (after Media Encoder CC 2014 is installed)

    Hi,
I would like to uninstall Media Encoder CC as I now have Media Encoder CC 2014 installed.
It is nearly 2GB and I need the space.
There isn't an uninstall shortcut as there is for most of the other CC apps?
I could try dragging it all to the trash but have read that adobe apps should be uninstalled with an uninstaller?
    Thanks,
    Alan.

Thanks, but which applications (and versions) do use it?
And once they are removed how do I uninstall it as an uninstaller is not listed here as shown in the link you sent.
    (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html#Uninstall apps)
Open Finder and go to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers

  • How to uninstall Media Encoder and Bridge CS6?

I'm using the CC 2014 version of all my Adobe apps, except I still need Encore CS6 because there isn't a newer version.  I uninstalled Premiere CS6, but I still have Bridge and Media Encoder left over in my Applications folder.  Neither of these has an uninstaller, like the other apps do.  Are they required for Encore to function, and if not, what's the best way to remove them?  I wanted to hear from someone at Adobe before I just throw them in the trash.

I doubt that you will hear from an Adobe person, since this is not a very active forum
NOTE - I do NOT know if these links lead to "selectable" uninstalls... use at your own risk !!!

  • Media Encoder crash in CS6. Could not read from the source. Check if it has moved or been deleted.

I'm having a problem getting Media Encoder to get past the dynamic link portion of encoding a time line sequence.
I can send it over to Media Encoder, but it crashes consistently after the yellow bar saying something about dynamic link.
I have CS6 installed in my computer here at work, it previously had CS5.5 installed on it.
I read some answers about CS4 having this problem and tried to create a shortcut and put it in the dynamic link folder, but that didnt work.
I would hate to have to reinstall the software here at work as the IT department is a pain- but I can't encode video on one of the computers we use here.
Any ideas on what may be happening and how I can solve the problem?
    Thanks!
Its a Dell Workstation with Windows 7 Ultimate installed dualE5620 processors at 2.4GHz. .
only 6 GB RAM, and a RAID 5 hard drive setup with 3- one gb drives giving the C drive space of 1.8Gigs
Its got an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 420 video card.
I'm upgrading this computer to better work with editing video, so this is a good time to get this all cleaned up.
Im adding RAM (24GBs)- replacing the video card to a GTX 780 3GB running 3 monitors.
I'd also like to either split up the RAID (ugh)..or just add 2 internal SAS HDDs. to split up the video and the cache and the OS/programs as is usually done with editing video.
Thanks for your help in advance...
    Mike

    ...more information...problem still not solved....
After searching more in the forums, I tried a couple more things:
I tried to restart AME and clearing the preferences. This didnt help.
I also deleted the ...appData/Roaming/Adobe/AdobeMediaEncoder/6.0 folder and all subfolders   No help here either.
I also tried to import the sequence via AME rather than export via PP. This worked. The sequence loaded immediately and processed perfectly.
When I export via PP, I hit the queue button, it hangs for about 3 mins, then the yellow bar appears saying "Connecting to Dynamic Link server"
it then hangs for approx 3 mins again and then I get the Failed alert.
    the error log reports:
    Encoding failed
Could not read from source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.
    any help available here????

  • Uninstall media encoder cs5

I have no idea how I got Media Encoder CS5 on my machine (maybe playing around with 10.1 Flash in Labs?) but I'd certainly like to get it off (since it doesn't work on my Windows machine) and re-establish the automatic bootup of Media Encoder CS4 from Premiere Pro CS4.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Encoder CS5  installed with either flash catalyst beta or flash builder
I have no idea how to uninstallit other than to uninstall catalyst
I can run Encoder CS4 by itself and then choose my premiere cs4 seq (from project) and that lets me render my premiere pro cs4 seqs

  • How do I uninstall Media Encoder?

    Hi,
How do I uninstall Adobe Media Encoder? I have the latest CC updates but can't see it in the uninstall folder?
    Sami

    Hi Sami,
    "Welcome to the Adobe Forums"
You need to use installers and point to the new install path (SSD drive in your case) via the installers.
Adobe Media Encoder gets installed with several host programs like Premiere Pro, After Effects and Flash.  So, You may need to uninstall all those Adobe apps first that includes Adobe Media Encoder if you have any of them in your system.   Then, please try installing those apps into your SSD.
Let me know if it helps
    Thanks!

  • Media Encoder CC and GPU

Does the new Media Encoder CC automatically use GPU and CUDA encoding when available? I tried to export H.264 from After Effects CC, but I found that you have to send it to AME for this, and then I'm not 100% sure if the GPU is used? I see that the GPU is only used about 1-2% when encoding.
I have a GTX 570 card installed, so I know that GPU is available, since it's working fine in Premiere Pro CC.

  • Best quality HDV to DVD using Premier Pro CC to Media Encoder CC and Encore

I have been struggeling to create a decent looking DVD from my HD video.  I am a newbe.  And I have read many, many forum posts trying to learn the best practice and have come out even more confused.  Many posts are back in 2009 and I don't think they apply.  Some recommend dynamic link which does not appear to be an option for me.  So I am hoping to get a clear answer to my problems.  I am including alot of info because I don't know what is really important.
I have 2 types of video that I am merging into my sequences.
    Sony:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 11.5 Mbps
Maximum bit rate                         : 16.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 440 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
Scan order                               : Top Field First
    JVC:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 16.3 Mbps
Maximum bit rate                         : 17.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 920 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
Scan order                               : Top Field First
I set my sequence in Premier Pro CC to
    AVC-Intra 50 1080i
    29.97 fps
    1440 x 1080
    HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.3333)
    30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
Hopefully I set up my sequence correctly???
Dynamic Link is not available to me, so I export the sequence.  This is where i get confused.
I export to MPEG2-DVD.  Preset NTSC DV Wide
Some forum posts say to tweek the video setting for better quality, this is what I have read:
    quality to 100
    minimum bit rate  4
    target bitrate 6
    maximum bitrate 7
    click maximum render quality
Since my source has upper field order but PP defaults to lower field order, should I switch to upper?
    I encode in Media Encoder.
In Encore, I have my dvd settings:
    MPEG-2
    720x480
    29.97 fps
Lower fields first  (should this be upper??)
I have an i5 processor, 8G ram, I am using Mecury GPU accelerator.
I listed a lot of stuff and I appologize.  I just think the quallity I am getting isn't there.  With these setting and what I am doing, is this as good as the quality gets?
    Help

    Use a 1920 x 1080, 30i sequence for the editing, not 1440 x 1080.
Start with the MPEG2-DVD option and the NTSC DV Widescreen preset.  Change the Quality to 100.  Change the Field Order from Lower to Upper.  Change the Min, Target and Max bitrates to 5, 7 and 9 respectively.  If you have hardware acceleration turned on, export away.  If you're running in Software Only mode, check the Maximum Render Quality box and then export.
Bring the resulting video and audio files into Encore for authoring.

  • How do I export on Media Encoder CC and play on Premiere Pro CC without affecting the export?

I can export on media encoder and play on Premiere at the same time if I save my project > Close premiere pro > open Media encoder > import premiere pro sequence > start export > and open my project on premiere again.
But I`m having some issues with the playback quality (sometimes it stop and the audio starts getting out of sync), and the export gets slow.
Is there anything I can do to export and play at the same time?
I need the full quality of preview.
    Working with codecs XDCAM HD 422 and ProRes 422 on Mac Os X 10.7.5 (2 X 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon) wiht 24GB 1066 DDR3 RAM
    Hope u guys can help.

You can just queue up the export right from PP, start the encode and then go back to PP to continue working.  No need to close anything.
Doing this will slow down the export process, as PP will steal whatever resources it needs to run, often pausing AME to do so.

  • Premiere cc & media encoder update and it doesn't use anymore 100% of cpu, why?

    hi
i don't like always to update programs
but yesterday i update premiere to version 7.2.2 and adobe media encoder and others , in short i updated everything
well i started to render a video and i noticed that adobe media encoder (during the rendering) did not use all my cpu
in the prev , i used the 90% of my cpu
my cpu it's the last intel 4 core (8 vitual) 4Ghz
but the new verstion uses not more then 50% , don't know how much gpu does it use , can't find a program to monitor under w8.1 pro 64bit
    what's wrong?
is there a way (option) to let media encoder to use all my 100% cpu?
is there a way to check how much gpu does it use?
    thanks

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for your reply.
It doesn't appear to be the problem though. The encode I have running at the moment has been going for the last 13 hours and in the last two hasn't once got any further along!
Current elapsed time for a 30 minute film going to MPG2 is 13 hours and 18 minutes! Seems a touch excessive for just muxing!
Any other ideas? Would be really grateful for any advice as Adobe Media Encoder is becoming very unreliable and I have tonnes of encoding to do!
    Many thanks

  • Premiere / Media Encoder CS5 and deinterlacing

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not at all happy with the deinterlacing results from Premiere CS5 and Media Encoder. I've been using Premiere since CS3 and hoped for improvement in CS4, but no. And now with CS5, it's still just not good...
This is what I do in an nutshell: I edit 1080i HDV video in Premiere (using 1080i timelines) and export it to several formats, including 720p for Youtube. Now, whatever I do, I alway get some staircasing / aliasing on deinterlaced output. Not really bad and hardly noticable on video, but very noticable on logo's (which - ironically - are progressive to start with). Preview in Premiere looks fine, but as soon as I put the content through media encoder: staircasing. Even with the new "Use maximum render quality" option enabled.
When I output my 1080i timeline as 1080i MPEG2 video everything looks pristine (motion adaptive deinterlacing is then done upon playback by my nVidia graphics card). When I leave all rendering options the same and export 1080p or 720p - leaving deinterlacing to media encoder - staircasting is easily visible on logo's and detail is lost in the video compared to real-time deinterlaced output by my graphics card.
I guess my main question is: Why can't Adobe get this right? nVidia and ATI can do it very well and in realtime on their graphics cards (and have been able to do so for several years now) and freeware filters such as the ones used by ffdshow do a far better job too.
Why can't a high-end and expensive video editing solution like CS5 get this right? Hugely disappointing

    Hi Todd, Steve,
    I'm running CS5 a Cuda enabled system  (Intel Core i7 965, 12 GB DDR3, MSI GeForce GTX 285 with 2GB memory and a secondary GeForce 9400GT 1GB, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit).
Cuda support is enabled in premiere CS5, as my timelines are yellow even when I enable cuda accelerated effects such as color correction. So no problems there.
I work with 1080i50 HDV and AVCHD files, which I normally use in a HDCAM EX 50i timeline (I use HDCAM EX because that enables me to render all effects and graphics in 1920x1080, instead of a HDV timeline which renders everyting in 1440x1080). I have tried using native HDV timelines too, but that reduces horizontal sharpness on our logo and on sceen graphics, while the deinterlacing problems I encounter are exactly the same.
The problem is that when I export an HDCAM EX timeline to 720p, I get noticable degradation in image sharpness and visible jaggies on our on-screen logo. The same applies when I export to 1080p. When I export to 1080i (so no deinterlacing is done by Premiere or Media Encoder), the file looks great on playback (deinterlacing done in real time by my nVidia card).
For the last few weeks I've been working a round the problem in a way which is not ideal for me, but which does seem to provide better results:
I now work with HDCAM EX 25p timelines instead of 50i, and I set the 'field options' flag for all my clips to 'always deinterlace'. This results in a loss of temporal resolution on my timelines (which I don't really want, since I also export to PAL 50i) but it results in noticably better sharpness and less aliasing on 720p output.
I'd love to share my on-screen logo title if you wish to have a look at it. Our logo contains a circle which shows easily visible jaggies when deinterlaced incorrectly. Please let me know how to get the files to you.
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • Premiere CS4 Media Encoder AVIs and Encore Encoding Errors

For some reason, I'm having trouble creating DVD's in Encore from AVI's exported from Premiere CS4. When encoding starts, Encore immediately pops up with an "encoding error". I now, all of a sudden get this identical error on two of our systems.
Most of the time Encore works if I export an "MP2" file from the Premiere CS4 timeline.
Any of you guys having trouble with Encore CS4? To me it has been a lot more buggy and unreliable than any previous version. The program also seems sluggish on our Q6600 4gGB RAM computers! Kind of like the program is straining just to open its windows.
Another thing that is annoying. Earlier in the day, I exported a Flash Web video for a client's review. A few hours later I had to make a 1 hour and 46 minute DVD with chapters for a client that had to be Fed Ex'd overnight. It took forever to complete and I soon realized that Encore defaulted back to the last export...FLASH! cr@p. I would prefer that the program defaulted to standard DVD creation. After all it is Encore DVD.

I'm having major problems with Media Encoder CS4.
When I try to create an AVI file (for example) from a section of my Premiere Pro CS4 timeline, the encoder opens, takes forever to load the project, and then, after I hit start queue button, it again takes forever to load the project in the small window at the bottom of the display.
Finally the "waiting" message in the queue list turns to an orange exclamation mark with the message that encoder "could not read from the source. PLease check if it has been moved or deleted." Which of course it has not been.  THis happens even if I preview the section in advance in Premiere.  material.
If at any point I hit the settings button it simply reloads the project
