Uninstall new iPhoto update

I just downloaded an update on iphoto, not thinking it through. How can I get rid of it? it says that photos will not be readable by previous versions. I've not updated the library yet but it cannot be used now. What about all the older photos I have backed up that are not in the library? Will they no longer be recognized. I HATE this. I blog and DO photography. I do not have time for this! It will take hours for the library to update then when I go to pull something off an older disc is it going to be unreadable??? Why would they write such a program. It should be backwards compatible. Who do I call? I want this thing gone. Can I pull if from time machine and make it go away???

That would be true only if you were try to open your newer, upgraded library with iPhoto on your laptop. Getting individual photos out of your laptop's iPhoto library and putting them on your iMac woud not be a problem.
To restate: older versions of the iPhoto application, i.e. the one on your laptop, would not be able to open the iPhoto library on your iMac. Photos exported from your laptop can be used by iPhoto on your iMac.

Terence, I was trying a way to message you directly - jumping on a recent thread seemed to be the only way (sorry, DEW45).
Terence, you seem to be the foremost expert on apeture and iphoto and have helped me many times in the past (thanks). I have a question that you may be able to help with (anyone also feel free to take a stab). I use blogger to upload my photos and host my blog (www.sippingespresso.com). I spend hours organzing and editing photos - namely, I will enhance and sometimes alter an image in Apeture. It always saves over the orginal file (at least for viewing purposes), which is fine by me. But then when I go to upload the photos onto blogger it seems to always pull my dull, original image. Obviously, I want the newer, bright, enhanced photo.
I'm one step away from importing them, dragging them out of iphoto and into Photoshop, then editing the files and dragging them back into iphoto, deleting the originals and uploading from there. There HAS to be a better way - please help!! I've already posted far too many boring images without the beauty of Apeture's "auto enhance".

Moments are the new Events. All of your events in iPhoto are not Moments in Photo and were also brought over as an album. Open the sidebar with the Option+Command+S key combination and look in the folder titled "iPhoto Events". There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When the library was first migrated there was a folder created titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events are represented by an album in the folder.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.

New IPHOTO UPDATE

Problem with the newest IPHOTO update today, photos don't loop around to the beginning, they freeze and don't move at all, only backward. Anyone else having the same problem?

If you double click on a photo in an event you'll get this window:
When you click on the right arrow in the upper right hand cornder you will scroll thru your photos and with continued clicking return to the beginning to continue thru again.

You can All go to the App store on the iPad anmd go to the updates section and it should be listed as an available update. Tap the update button to download/install the update.

You're referring to the new Photos application and its library, right.
Control (right) - click on the photo you want to delete and select Delete X photos from the contextual menu:
Next, use the File ➙ Show Recently Deleted menu option to go a window with all of the deleted photos that haven't been finally removed from the library.
Either use the Delete All button or select just those you want to finally remove completely.
This window is a safety net so you can undelete photos that have been accidentally deleted.

New iPhoto update just trashed one of my Facebook albums

Hi, I've never really used iPhoto for Facebook uploading due to the thought of this happening but I did upload one holiday album last year using iPhoto before I knew of any dangers.
I've now upgraded to the new iLife '11 and my entire album is gone from Facebook!!! All those captions, tags, comments, gone!!
Why has this happened???

There is no iPhoto 9.0.2 - iPhoto '09 is version 8.x.x - the latest version is 8.0.4

Uninstalling iPhoto Update from iLife

Does anyone know how to uninstall the iPhoto update from iLife (and even for iMovie too)? I really don't like the new iPhoto as simple things are now more difficult or aren't available anymore. The changes seem more superficial as I haven't found any new tools or processes that help. Don't even get me started on the iMovie problems. Please tell me there is a way to go back.

iPhoto 7 did not make things harder to do, in fact it is virtually identical to the previous version!
I generally agree - But a few things are different and there is a requirement that a user LEARN how to use the new features and those that have changed - for doing that you get a greatly expanded capability so IMHO it is a great trade off - but for a user who is unable or unwilling to learn a few new things it can be difficult - as can ANY new version of ANY new software

I'm not sure why but my computer says it will not accept the new iPhoto update....why is this? Also, I burned a disc of cd's from my friend who had the iphoto update and tried to then upload these into my computer but it said I couldn't becuase I didn't have the latest version..

What version of iPhoto are you running? To find out, when iPhoto is open, go to the menu bar and click on iPhoto/about iPhoto. iPhoto 2 was the last free version of iPhoto. You now have to purchase the iLife suite which includes iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, iDVD and Garageband. You probably downloaded the update to version 5 of iPhoto and it will not install unless you have iPhoto 5 already installed on your computer.
Next, if you want to burn images to view or import into iPhoto from your friends computer, this is what you need to do.
Creating a CD or DVD to be viewed in Windows or by a photo processing company
I am thinking that the way you did it was within iPhoto. The disc you get from burning that way, is a mountable iPhoto Library. Meaning if you insert the CD into your computer, it will open iPhoto and mount in the source column for you to view the images.

IPhoto Update Gliche

I have just downloaded and installed the new Iphoto update, all 1.2gb of it, yet the Mac store still shows it as an update available, even theough the little grey box says that it is already installed.
Support has told me to clear the Updated Folder in the library, which I have done, but the update still shows as available.
Anyone else with the same issue or anyone with a solution ?

I scoured the web looking everywhere for a solution to this.
Exit Code 15
OSX 8.5 with Work@Home DVD media for CS6
I followed instructions to run 3rd party cleaner software
I tried the adobe removal tool
removing all copies of adobe software manually
installing from a new account, safe mode, plist everything suggested that i found did not work.
A colleague suggested that removing the below folder would allow the installation:
/Library/Application Supports/Adobe
They turned out to be correct, so i am passing this on, because this took far too many hours of my time.

The new iphone update *****. How can I uninstall it?

The iOS7.0.2 update is terrible.
The icons for the built- in apps changed. I can think of no good reason for this. It's now more difficult to find what I am looking for as I don't recognize the app icons. The background in the phone app is now gone so there is no contrast between the address book info and the screen making the info harder to read. It looks like apple just made the cosmetic changes because they got bored. There was no intelligent thought put into the changes.
I used to be able to open the notification center with a quick flick down but now the notification center only comes down halfway. It now takes a much more deliberate downward swipe to open.
The task bar of open apps (or whatever they call it) is bigger and clunkier. It used to be simple and quick. Somehow apple found a way to ruin a good thing.
If they are going to make stupid changes part of an update then they should add them as options in the Settings, such as "Use the simple and fast interface or use the new more difficult, hard to read interface that we thought would look cool."
Is there any way to uninstall this horrible update?

Updates from previous ov iPhoto '11 are free - upgrades from older versions like iPhoto '08 are purchases - you can run your current version under Mavericks if you do not wish to upgrade
