Uninstall of Crystal Reports XI R2

I am trying to uninstall Crystal Reports XI R2 on a development machine and I am getting errors about missing files and registry entries. After doing some research I think it may have occurred because I previously had Visual Studio 2005 installed and uninstalled it before uninstalling the stand-alone version of Crystal. I see other posts with links to a document on how to do a manual uninstall but that link is no longer valid. Does anyone know where I can find that document?

Going by the following KBA that I got to by entering the string 'crystal silent uninstall' in the search box at the top right corner:
1893438 - Is it possible to perform a silent uninstall of Crystal Reports 2008/2011?
There is no silent uninstall for CR 2008 or CR 2011. Thus for sure there is not one for CR XI R2.

This error occurred on server side and I changed the report directory to network directory. But still got error. Please advice. Thanks.

Try this........
1. Uninstall the Crystal Report Version from Control Panel
2. Delete all the Temp Files
3. Go to Program Files--> Business Object Folder and delete this folder so that all the corrupted DLL files will get deleted.
4. Restart Machine Once again
5. Then Install Crystal Report freshly........
This may solve your problem........

Error while opening Crystal report 2008

Hi All,
I get the following error when I try to open crystal report 2008 trial version:
"Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point ?CanStackDump@SLogger@CXLib400@@SA_NXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library cxlibw-4-0.dll."
To over come this I tried to install crystal report 2008 SP1 but it didn't help,
even I uninstalled all Crystal report setup and tried to install Crystal report 2008 server even that didn't helped.
Kindly suggest some solution.

Upgrading Crystal Reports 8.5 to XI

I had developed a system using SQL Server 2000, Visual Basic 6 and Crystal Reports 8.5. Everything was working fine.
Recently we installed Crystal Reports XI. I converted all the reports created in Crystal Reports 8.5 into Crystal Reports XI version. When I call the reports from my application it does not work.
If I create brand new report exactly same as previous one it works fine.
I know Crystal Reports XI is downward compatable. WHy my previous reports do not work?
Can anyone know anything about this?

I mean by the sentence "Report does not work" report does not generate for view.
We have 2 problems after installing the Crystal Reports XI in my computer.
Problem 1: The existing reports (.rpt files created by Crystal Reports 8.5) do not work after converting to Crystal Reports           XI format.
After getting the Crystal Reports XI I did the following.
1) Uninstalled the Crystal Reports 8.5
2) Installed the Crystal Reports XI
3) Run my application and generated the reports (.rpt files in 8.5 format). Reports are generated and is viewed.
4) Open the report, did some modification (such as changed the size of text box, dragged the object etc) and saved. Following message appeared
   " This report is from a previous version of Crystal Reports. Do you want to overwrite it with the latest report format?"
   I clicked "Yes". I think the report had been converted into XI format.
5) Run my application and generated this report (just converted into XI format). But the report did not generated. It ended up with runtime error 20713
6) Created a new report using Crystal Reports XI exactly same as the previous report.
7) Renamed the report and Run my application and generated the report (report created into XI format). This report is generated and is viewed.
I have around 72 reports for my application. It will be time wasting to re-create all the 72 reports using Crystal Reports XI.
Problem 2: The software works very slow.
The Crystal Reports XI runs very slowly in the computer. It is awfully slow. It takes 7/8 secs to get focus if I click any object (text box, formula, data field etc.)
It takes 10/12 secs for any objects to be moved after it is dragged.
All other applications and software work well in my computer. My system is healthy and it meets the requirements of installing Crystal Reports XI. Following are the configuration of my computer.
Intel Pentium 4, Processor 3.0 GHz
RAM 768 MB
Operating System: Windows XP Professional version 2002 and service pack 2
10 GB free space in the C drive.
I uninstalled and re-installed the Crystal Reports XI, still it is very slow.

Not able to install crystal reporter in SAP Business One PL 42

Hi All,
I had been using the evaluation version of crystal reports. Now when the free licensed version was launched I uninstalled the version and tried to instal the new one which I have downloaded from the portal. I have uninstalled the crystal reports runtime and the SAP crystal reports from the control panel. Now in the same process as mentioned I am installing the crystal reports again. In the ADD-ON istallation part when I am click on start the system shows the following error-
"An earlier version of crystal reports is found. Please ensure that the current installation is a higher version."
Inspite of the fact that my system showed no instance of crystal reports installed after the uninstall run by me.
Please guide me.

The following is the Instructions Extract from "SAP_CRYSTAL_InstallInstructions.pdf":
Un-installation of previous version:
If a previous version of the Add-on exists , it is highly recommended the previous add-on be fully uninstalled before installing the new version. To uninstall the add-on, follow the 3 simple steps below.
1. Using SAP Business One Administration | Add-Ons | Add-On Administration: remove and un-register the add-on.
2. Log off SAP and Log back in for the un-installers to run.
3. Using Windows Control Panel | Add-Remove programs: uninstall the u201CSAP Business One Crystal Reportsu201D ( Do not un-install Crystal Run time )
Installation of New Version:
1.The Add-On runs using the compatibility licence of SAP Business One.
2.Copy the installation files to a suitable location.
3.The installation disk or folder will contain a file called SAPCrystalSetup.exe.
4.Log on to the target PC as an administrator or admin type user (windows).
5.Copy the SAPCrystalSetup.exe to a convenient location on the target PC and run SAPCrystalSetup.exe (confirm all overwrites - you may keep the CrystalDesignerPath.txt intact if the path specified is different to the defaults).
6.SAPCrystalSetup.exe will install the add-on components on the local PC. It is recommended that you keep the path selected by the installer. The default installation path for the Add-on files are C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\SAP_CR.
7.Locate the folder u201CDotNetFramework_3.5u201D , make sure the PC is connected to the internet and run the u201CdotNetFx35setup.exe u201C. An automatic download will occur, to get the suitable files for .Net Framework 3.5. This will take several minutes depending on the bandwidth. The installation of the .Net Framework will happen once the download finishes.
8.Locate the folder u201CCrystal_2008_Runtime_exeu201D and run the u201CCRRuntime_12_0_mlb.exeu201D. if a product ID is requested, leave the Text Box blank and proceed with install. This installs the Crystal Reports Runtime for Version 2008 on the local PC.
9.Once the setup.exe has completed, log on to SAP as manager or any other superuser.
10.Using Administration | Addons | Add-On Administration, register the Crystal Add-On, set the desired settings and restart SAP.
11.Log on to SAP, as a super user.
12.Run Account setup from Administration | Crystal Reports Administration | Account setup
13.Type in the sa password for the SQL server that holds SAP databases, and click Update. ( this process needs to be performed for each new PC, Once. )
14.Click the Create Ext tables button. Add-on will now create the additional tables (this process must be performed for each new SAP company once u2013 and can be performed from ANY PC). This creates the External SQL tables needed for the add-on.
15.THE TASKS 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 17 WILL NEED TO BE RUN ON ALL PCS THAT NEEDS THE CRSYTAL ADD-ON.
16.Crystal add-on is ready to use. A help file is provided and you may test the add-on with the sample reports found in u2026\ SAP_CR\SampleReports. The help file can be found in u2026\SAP_CR\Documents\UserHelpFile
17.If the Crystal Designer has been installed on the local PC, the following file needs to be edited ( or checked to be correct). The file gives the path to the Crystal Reports Designer exe. The add-on will read this file to launch Crystal Designer.

CRVS2010 Beta - Crystal Reports 2010 with VS 2010 Pro fr

Hi,
I fisrt use CR 2010 with Visual 2010 RC US. it works fine.
After the offcial launch of VS 2010, i uninstall my VS 2010 RC to dowload the VS 2010 Pro French.I'm not able to use Crystal Reports 2010 anymore, even after uninstall/install Crystal Reports 2010 !! I always get the .mht file invinting me to dowload Crystal Report.
Any help will be appreciate.

Do I need to uninstall Crystal Reports Server 2008?

We recently installed Crystal Reports Server 2008 and began migrating reports off the CR Enterprise 9 platform and things were going pretty well.
One of our other locations began moving over their reports that are ran against an Oracle database and cannot get passed a connectivity issue. We found the following:
Oracle connectivity issues
If you are installing Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 on a 64-bit Windows
platform, Oracle database connectivity issues may occur. If Crystal Reports
Server 2008 V1 is installed to a location that contains brackets in the folder
path, for example, C:\Program Files (x86)\, it will be unable to connect
to an Oracle database. Certain Oracle database clients such as version
10.2.0.2 or 10.1.0.2, may not function properly with any application that
has brackets in its folder path. When installing Crystal Reports Server 2008
V1, select an installation path that does not contain brackets, such as
C:\Program Files x86\ or contact Oracle support for an updated database
client.
We of course have everything installed in the default (x86) folder. My question is, is there a way to move the installation, or do I need to uninstall/re-install? If I need to re-install, is there a way to back-up and reload all of my existing jobs?

Hello,
CR must have the Oracle client installed. Unless you use a Wired Driver, which has the client engine built in, CR requires a client to be installed. It never has worked without the client installed.
Also, I've found that if you have more than one Oracle client installed it causes problems. Make sure the first one in the PATH statement points to the latest version of the client.
And yes you are correct, ODBC is a layer on top of the native client so it will be slower obviously because it has to go through one more layer of dll's to get to the server.

Crystal Reports version XI Rel 2 Evaluation Copy Uninstall

I downloaded the evaluation copy of Crystal Reports XI rel 2, after satisfying myself that it would do what I needed, I uninstalled it. Now my version of Visual Studio 2005 will not function when a Crystal Report is to be run, I re installed the Crredist.msi that came with visual studio 2005 but it still produces an error when trying to print a Crystal Report. This is the error that is produced. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not able to uninstall "Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 (x86)u201D from my Vista 64 bit machine. I'm uninstalling from the Control Panel and it goes through the procedure of the uninstall, but the listing is not removed and I can't install an updated version. Any ideas why?

Yes same admin account (I only have one).
I did update to "Windows Vista Service Pack 2 for x64" lately. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

We are installing crystal reports on some clustered servers using the CRRedist2005_x86.msi so that a web application which uses Crystal Reports will run properly. (Visual Studio is not installed on these servers.)
If there is any problem caused by running the CRRedist2005_x86.msi program, how could we back out the installation/uninstall this version of Crystal Reports? Our server administration group wants me to provide an "uninstall program" just in case running the .msi file causes problems for any of the other applications on the server. However, I have not been able to find any information on this on the Business Objects web site (apart from some manual uninstall directions).
Can anyone help?

XMI is XML with a specified format.
Looking at the XMI format definition for the XML, it doesn't appear if it will automatically be consumed by Crystal.
Crystal expects relational, rather than hierarchial, data - so you'd need to find a way of exposing the data within XMI as a relational dataset.

Crystal Reports for VS2010 Beta Uninstall

When trying to install the release version for Visual Studio 2010 I was prompted that the beta version was still installed. I attempted to uninstall the beta version using Add/Remove Programs but nothing would happen when I tried this...I just got an hour glass for a few seconds and then it went back to the default. After reading through another thread I did the following:
- Deleted the "SAP Business Objects" folder from Program Files
- Deleted the registry folder: HKLM\Software\SAP Business Objects
- Deleted the registry folder: KCU\Software\SAP Business Objects
- Looked for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall{2D87DD11-EAE0-4F05-BF92-A96A7CDC186B} to delete it but did not find this specific item.
After doing the above I was able to successfully install the release version of Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 but when I went to add a Crystal Report Viewer control to my form I noticed the control version was still 14.0.2.
What else do I need to do to get rid of any trace of the beta version?

Crystal Report 2008 SP3 and BO XI 3.1 conflict

Hi every body,
We have a BOE system:
BO XI 3.1
Oracle db 10g
All running successful and can create some types of WebI report.
But we also want reports with Crystal Report.
1> So we install Crystal Report 2008 SP3 (without knowing the conflict error between BO XI 3.1 and Crystal Report 2008 SP3 and overwrite some .dll file). After installing, we can not create WebI report any more. And a error message box display: "DBDriver failed to load: C:\Program File\Business Objects\BusinessObjects ENterprise12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\dbd_oci.dll ".
2> We uninstall Crystal Report SP3. But this is not the solution. Still error because of missing .dll files.
3> We open BO XI 3.1 setup and repair BO XI 3.1. Even we uninstall BO XI 3.1, delete all of its components and delete in regedit key. We install BO XI 3.1 again. Now we have full .dll file, not missing them any more. But when we open universe and click on Table browser, cannot fetching any tables.
We set rights for Oracle DB user again. But still error: cannot fetching.
4> We searched the solution for this problem on the internet. But not worked, no answer.
Can somebody help me bring back the BOE system state again ? pls :"<

I hope I read your question right!
Yes, It is possible to run XIR2 and 3.1 on the same server although it's not recommended by BO. You will need to make sure they are both pointing to different CMS databases and different FRS repositories, like you already mentioned you will need to specify different ports for the CMS db and Tomcat.
Why not uninstall Business Objects XI R2 in your BO development environment or a spare server (if you have one), and do a clean install of XI 3.1 SP3.
Tip: If you were already having performance issues with your XI R2 environment, I would seriously consider upgrading the hardware. XI 3.1 needs a bit more RAM and CPU than XI R2

SAP Crystal report on Windows Server 2012

Hi,
Let me explain my situation first.
I have Windows7 dev box with VS 2010, 2012 and 2013. My application backend is Oracle 10g.
I have an old application build in VS 2005 which I migrated to Framework 4.0 from 2.0.
I downloaded CR executable from "http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_9.exe" and it worked fine locally.
But when I deployed the same code on Windows Server 2012.. reports didn't appear.
Please assist.

Well, let's get the easy one out of the way 1st
Licensing of the runtime. The runtime is free for win apps. For web apps it is also free - as long as the app is used within your organization. If the web app is used external to your org, you do need to obtain additional licensing. And for that you will have to contact sales: 866-681-3435
Now, the actual issue:
Normally, the runtime is deployed using the MSI, MSM or CLickOnce, Nothing wrong with you installing VS on the server and then CR, but I suspect you're using up a VS license for that (expensive(?)), but that is a decision for you to make. E.g.; uninstalling VS and running the CR SP 9 MSI should suffice. To actually get the viewer working, I'd like you configure the viewer as per the direction in this blog:

Crystal Report Taking too much time to load

Dear Support team,
Every time I open an existing Crystal Report, it is taking me about 5 minutes to load (Even if its a new and Blank report). Also after one report has loaded for the first time, Loading further reports would take the same long time.
Please note that I was not facing this problem earlier (Same Crystal Report version), this issue started occurring after I came back from a leave, and our IT guy have told me that he had uninstalled the Visual Studio in my absence (License issue), and no further relevant changes that he can think of.
Appreciate your help on resolving this issue, I work with a large number of crystal reports on daily basis, and this problem is killing my time.

I just found out more info about this problem that might help us troubleshoot it:
My colleague and I were both using the Old Crystal Report version 10 (Before SAP) till about a month ago. Afterwards, I have installed the new SAP Crystal Reports 2013 Trial version to test it, and i faced no issues there and ordered to purchase the product. One week ago, my company bought for me and my colleague two licenses which arrived in two boxes containing two DVDs and we re installed the software using the DVDs. Since then we BOTH are facing this delay issue when opening any Crystal Report. (The delay is unbearable, it is truly about 3 min without exaggeration).
For the record, we both have high spec PCs.

Crystal Reports Server XI R2 - RAS service will not start

We had a copy of Crystal Reports Server XI R2 running on a Windows 2003 SBS Server and the database running on SQL Server 2000 on the same box. We were forced to upgrade this server Windows 2003 SBS Server 2003 R2 with SQL Server 2005. The upgrade worked fine however after the upgrade we could no longer open reports in infoview.
We soon realised that the RAS(Report Application Server) service was stopped however we could not start it.
We tried doing a full uninstall(deleting the directory and registry info) and reinstall several times on the same server pointing to the existing database and trying to create a new database in both MYSql and SQL Server but again the same problem. While our licensing agreement means we can only install it on one server we tried on another and again we had the same issue.
We see several errors in the event viewer of the server, these are:
-Unable to create the Corba OSCA factory and register it on the eBus (Source:BusinessObjects_crystalras)
-Failed to register with the CMS 'Server Name'. Please make sure the CMS is up and running. Attempting an automatic retry. (Source: We see this error show on a fair few of the service after stopping and firing up services, but they seem to disappear)
-An error occurred while creating a Page Server subprocess.(Source: BusinessObjects_pageserver)
If I try firing the crystalras executable just for interest sakes I get a "No valid license found for this product" error.
We thought it may have been a license issue caused by the upgrade but have been told that the license key still appears to be valid.
Any help is appreciated.
