Uninstall of LabVIEW Student Edition 2013 on Mac

I recently installed LabVIEW SE 2013 on MacOS 10.9.2. My goal is a working install of ROBOLAB for LabVIEW which is currently not working properly. My next idea is a complete uninstall and careful reinstall of required software.
The NI resources on the subject of uninstallation recommend using the uninstall.sh file on the install media to complete an uninstallation. My install media was a downloaded .mpkg file that includes neither an uninstall.sh file or an uninstall option in the installer. Any advice on how to proceed with a complete uninstall?
With the exception of the driver packages, can I assume that all the LabVIEW files end up in /Applications/National Instruments or are there other locations that end up with LabVIEW files in them?

According to this KnowledgeBase article the Uninstall script should be in the Extras folder. I have attached the file from my LV 2013 for Mac disk.
There are quite a few files in Library/Application Support and Library/Receipts as well as Applications.

  • MathScript and LabVIEW Student Edition (Mac OS X version)

    Hi,
Am I right in thinking that in order to "import" or run Matlab .m files in a LabVIEW VI, I need to use the Mathscript feature?
I have LabVIEW 8.5.1 Student edition installed on Mac OS X 10.4.11 and can't find the Mathscript feature anywhere in the functions pallet - do I need to install something else in order to get this?
    Thanks for the help.

    Hello,
The support for Mathscript on a Mac OS X 10.4 (and higher) for Intel-based machine (only) is available for version 8.6. That is the reason you can't find this in previous versions.
    Hope this helps,

  • LabVIEW 8.5.1 Student edition - differences between Mac and Windows version?

    Hi,
I've just bought the student version of LabVIEW 8.5.1 and am using Mac OS X 10.4.11. What are the biggest differences between the Mac and Windows versions since the box came with a Mac installer CD and a Windows installer DVD?
    Cheers

Looks like you got the LabVIEW Student Edition Software Suite DVD.
It comes with 6 toolkits, and from the product spects, some (or all?) of those are windows only (at least in 8.5), e.g.:
    Digital Filter Design Toolkit
    Modulation Toolkit
    SignalExpress
Since you have 8.5, you are also missing a few basic things that only recevied MAC support in 8.6, such as Mathscript, Control design and Simulation, and Native 3D graphs.

  • LabView student version registration on Mac OSx

    Hi,
I installed the latest version of LabView student on my Mac a few weeks ago, so I've 5 days left to "try" this version. I have the latest version of OSx too, so I had to boot in 32 bits, but that's not the problem there...
I would like to register because I'll have to work on LabView during the 3 months to come, but I really don't know how to do. I looked for an answer on this forum but I didn't find any answer. My school gave me a key for LabView for Windows, but I don't know if it works on Mac too, and anyhow I don't know where to type it.
So, what are my options ? I wanted to download the profesionnal version and enter my school's key, but I didn't find the Mac version on NI's website.
Maybe it's very easy and I'm too stupid to understand that. In that case, I'm sorry for the stupid question... If someone can help me, it would be really nice !
Sorry for my approximate english, it's not my native language...
    Thank you !

    Hi smiley.lips,
Your english is just fine.  Your best bet will be to dual boot into windows os.  Licensing is different for that of a Mac, and the key that you received from your school will only work on a Windows OS.
If you would like, you could purchase a Mac OS version from Studica for around $20 USD.  You will only be able to use LabVIEW Student Edition, Control Design & Simulation, and Mathscript RT on a Mac OS though.  Also, you will have limited access to hardware such as myDAQ.
Again, this is why it is recommended to dual boot into Windows.

  • On how many computer can i install labview student edition?

I intend to purchase labview student edition in a near future, and i was wondering on how many computer may i install it. All for personnal use. I currently have 2 desktop, and one laptop. But I will soon get a surface 2 pro and my laptop start to be old so I will also replace it soon, and I was wondering if I could get the student version work on all those.

If you are a student, you can get a renewable 6 month license for free here. no need to purchase anything.
As for the number of computers you can install it, you need to read the Software Agreement. Look for section G(1). The software can be installed on up to three computers but can be used only on a single computer at any given time. If you get a new computer, just deactivate on the computer to be retired and activate on the new computer.

  • Labview student edition

I recently bought labview student edition. How many computers will the license allow me to download to? I want to have it on my school and personal computer.

This is an excerpt from the general license file previously mentioned:
If the SOFTWARE is a student edition (including SOFTWARE acquired
pursuant to a student install option license), you must (i) be a Student or an Instructor; (ii) have acquired
a student edition license; (iii) only, if you are a Student, use the SOFTWARE for your personal
education purposes and not for any other purpose, including research, professional, commercial, or
industrial purposes; and (iv) only, if you are an Instructor, use the SOFTWARE for your preparation for
classroom or lab coursework and not for any other purpose, including use in a classroom or lab,
research, professional, commercial, or industrial purposes. The SOFTWARE may be installed on up to
three computers. However, only you may use or otherwise run the SOFTWARE, and the SOFTWARE
may not be run concurrently (i.e., it may only be launched on one computer at a time).
This agrees with what is mentioned in the README FIRST document for the LabVIEW Student Edition:
    Installation is
restricted to your personally owned computer. http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374075r.pdf

  • DAQ with LabVIEW Student Edition

I am in between to choose either LabVIEW 2013 Student Edition and LabVIEW 2013 student Edition Software Suite. The difference is around 40 bucks for me. If the former lets me control devices through serial port and some data acquisition using NI-DAQ-6008, then I can save some money. I have read some other threads and the answer seems positive, but I just need a little more confidence before spending student earned cash!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

For serial communication, you need NI-VISA and for using the 6008, you need DAQmx. Both drivers are free and available from the Support page. The student suite is not at all required if this is all you are doing.

  • New VI function token in Labview Student Edition

    All experts out there,
This VI mod_qam transmitter.vi token is not available in Student edition. How can i be able to create/find one? I am not able to search one in the Function Seach option.
My objective is to create a M-ary QAM communication system and i am currently using the following vi:
    1) MT Create System Parameters
    2) MT Modulate QAM
    and others.
From the look of the VI token, it seem that the token is not from the library.
    Please kindly advice.

The LabVIEW 2009 Student edition software suite DVD actually contains the modulation toolkit.

  • How close can I come to Realtime with Labview student edition and an Arduino project?

    Hey everyone,
I'm really new to Labview and just recieved the Labview 2012 student edition and I plan to do a project. It came to my concern that after asking the Labview interface for arduino forums, they suggested that it cannot provide realtime. My project in generalwill consist of two arduinos, one with many sensors close to 30 and the second will have many actuators. My question is whether I can come to develop a realtime crucial system or fast processing speeds. Please provide any input.Your time and responses are much appreciated.

    MustafaMX5 wrote:
Thanks for replying, but if I may ask, are you implying that when the arduino is programmed it will run in realtime, however when labview interfaces with it isn't. Then if so would you suggest I just program the arduino and then monitor the system using Labview as my GUI.Lastly say I had the two arduinos already programmed with sensors and actuators and they communicate independently without labview, would labview impede on this time critical system.
     Thanks A Lot
Anything on a Windows machine is not real-time.  The micro on the arduino is.  You can still program in communications between the micro and LabVIEW and not impede on the real-time operation.  It will take some cycles away, but probably not enough to worry.

  • I have LabView Student Edition, how can I make work a USB 6008?

The Student edition it doesnot have many Vi's that there are necesary to work with a USB 6008, I would like to know how can I make work the Usb 6008 with LabView Student Edition

    Hello Jorge,
When you say "NI-DAQmx configuration" do you mean the NI-DAQmx Base Configuration Utility?  Are you using NI-DAQmx or NI-DAQmx Base to communicate with the 6008?
NI-DAQmx 7.5 added support for the USB-6008.  Therefore, you can use either NI-DAQmx or NI-DAQmx Base to control this device.  Make sure that you are setting the USB-6008 to NI-DAQmx before trying to use the NI-DAQmx VIs in LabVIEW.  To do this, Open Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and select Tools >> NI-DAQmx Configuration >> NI-DAQmx USB Driver Selector.  Your USB-6008 should appear in this window, indicating which driver your device is configured for.  Make sure it is set to NI-DAQmx before trying to use the NI-DAQmx VIs.
When your 6008 is set to NI-DAQmx, you cannot use NI-DAQmx Base or any of the DAQmx Base examples.  Likewise, when the 6008 is set to NI-DAQmx Base, you cannot use any NI-DAQmx VIs.
If you would like to use NI-DAQmx with your USB-6008, please set the driver by following the steps above and verify that "USB-6008" is listed under "Devices and Interfaces >> NI-DAQmx Devices" in MAX.
I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you continue having trouble with your USB-6008.
    Regards,
    Sean C.

  • N'arrive pas à installer Labview student edition

    Bonjour,
J'essaie actuellement d'installer Labview 8.2 student edition.

  • LabVIEW 2011 Student Edition on Mac Installation

    Hi
I installed LabVIEW 2011 Student edition on my Mac with the OS Mac OSX Version 10.7.1 Lion edition.
At first it wouldn't install (I had installation failure because Lion OSX is 64 bit and not 32)
I used the intructions as demonstrated in the link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773
as I found in the forum thread of:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Installing-LabVIEW-2011-for-Mac-OS-X-10-7-Lion-fails/m-p/1653742?req...
After I changed to 32 bit, the apple terminal warned me by doing so I wouldn't be able to save stuff correctly.
The software installed after I used the directions for 32 bit mode, but for some reason it did not say I was in 32 bit mode on the Apple activity monitor, it said 64 bit.
I went to the terminal and used the instructions to turn the operating system into 64 bit (even though it already say it was in 64 bit, despite LabVIEW installing, which requires 32 bit). I rebooted the computer, and I was able to use LabVIEW 2011.
    My question:
Once LabVIEW 2011 Mac student edition is installed in 32 bit mode, can it be operated when the computer is in 64 bit mode?
    thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi JoeGanser,
Booting your Mac into OSX 64 bit should still enable LabVIEW to run, even though it is a 32 bit program. You will encounter problems however when using NI-DAQmx Base, NI-VISA or NI-488.2 drivers while running in 64 bit mode.
I have found a KnowledgeBase Article, which explains why this is the case.
Please let me know if that answers your question, please post back if you have further questions.

  • CS5.5 and CS6 coexisting on my Mac (student edition).

    Hello.
I already have CS5.5 Design Premium (student edition) on my Mac installed.
I am about to install CS6 Production Premium (student edition) and I was wondering if I am allowed to do that? And how do I properly uninstall the softwares that are available in both packages (like Photoshop) while retain the ones that Production Premium does not have (like Dreamweaver)?
Do I just drag my CS5.5 software into the trash (the ones that will also be in the CS6 Production Premium Package) and then install the new software?

Do I just drag my CS5.5 software into the trash
That would be - well - stupid and cause a ton of issues. Use the proper uninstallers.
And how do I properly uninstall the softwares that are available in both packages (like Photoshop) while retain the ones that Production Premium does not have (like Dreamweaver)?
There is no such thing. You uninstall the package completely, then reinstall it with a custom install only including the programs you need.
I am about to install CS6 Production Premium (student edition) and I was wondering if I am allowed to do that?
Yes. In your case, being a student, their 2 separate and independent licenses, anyway.

  • 2013 student edition

I am a college student trying to purchase labview 2013 online. I found a website selling labview 2013 which has a really good price. http://www.studica.com/National-Instruments-students-ni-labview-mydaq/labview-student-edition.html   I just like to make sure it's a real deal. Any comment?
