  • How can I disable notification for new install update for adobe??

How can I disable notification for new install update for adobe (adobe reader, flash player, etc.)
Is there way from SCCM2012 or group policy or any easy way?????
    Please help me

If you mean the built-in functionality of Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash, it's different mechanism for both.
For the reader, check this guide for example:
    http://www.adminarsenal.com/admin-arsenal-blog/bid/84409/Adobe-Customization-Wizard-XI-Tutorial
For flash, check this guide for example:
    http://jthys.wordpress.com/2012/07/07/disable-automatic-updates-for-adobe-flash-shockwave-player-reader/
After you've studied the above guides, you need to implement those to be used with ConfigMgr application deployment so that when you deploy Reader/Flash, you get the result you want = no automatic update functionality.

  • My s/n for PC to Mac Upgrade won't work for new install for CS6 on Mac

I bought CS5 in 2011 for PC, then upgraded to CS6 for Mac (HUGE hassle) in 2012.  Trying to install on my new computer, and I can't select CS6 from the list.  The serial number for CS5 don't work (probably because they were for a PC OS), and the upgrade s/n for CS6, says the s/n is valid, but won't let me select CS6 from the list.   This discussion thing is a hassle!!  I've been "discussing" this for 2 days with no luck.  Isn't there someone I can phone?  Help!

  • OS 10.5 - Boot Camp - Windows won't read Mac Disc for Driver Install

    Hello everyone.
I have been through half a dozen headaches and a dozen hours of time wasted on this problem. I've tried multiple windows discs untill finally I bought a brand new version of Windows XP Pro. I've followed all of the instructions in my printed boot camp manual and I continously run into one problem:
Once windows is installed completely and I am at the windows desktop and need to eject the windows disc and insert the leopard disc to install drivers, I do so and windows does not recognize the mac disc whatsoever. It says the drive is empty, it is 0kb of 0kb, I cannot explore the drive, I cannot do anything. If I open it it is blank. I cannot access the internet in any way on windows because there are no corresponding drivers.. so I am at a loss.
Can anyone please help me? What do I do? I really apologize if this question has been answered, but I could really use some help.

    Hi Sotaris,
It's a little vague what you mean by the "leopard disk". Do you mean the disk of drivers Boot Camp burns, or the actual Leopard installation DVD?
What you're supposed to do is launch Boot Camp while booted to the Mac OS. One of the first things it does is create a CD of Windows drivers that XP will need for your Mac. So you must have a CD-R or CD-RW on hand.
After that, Windows XP is installed. When that's done, there will be a number of hardware components that XP naturally doesn't recognize. That's when you insert the driver disk Boot Camp creates. I may have listed the order of things a little bit off here, but the main point is it sounds like you're skipping, or missing the part to create the Windows driver disk and trying to put the Leopard DVD in the drive.

  • Install and Verify throws Expected ';'  for New install

When I install Java it goes through fine, but when I click finish for it to launch the JavaFx install it gives me an error dialog that says:
    "Microsoft JScript compilation error"
    Expected ';'
I press OK and it gives me the dialog error again, after a second OK it goes away.
I went to Java.com to verify install and I get the same thing as this screen shot shows (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dustindamour/3365219657/). I thought it was a corrupt install from the update that took place, so I uninstalled all Java and reinstalled. It still gives me the Error Dialog and in addition it gives me the red x box for applets now.
My main interest is to get this working so that I can go through the new tutorials examples at JavaFx.com.
If anyone can help me resolve this problem I would appreciate it.

  • Preparing for new install

I am getting ready to prepare my powerbook to upgrade to Tiger from Panther. I am looking for opinions on the best way to prepare it. I have had some speed issues and want to wipe the computer clean and start from scratch. Right now I have Tech Tool Pro with a E drive. Should I get rid of the E drive or keep it? I also want to use the Wipe Data feature with Tech Tool. There are 4 different wipe types and I don't know which to use. The choices are:
    Binary 00000000
    Binary 11111111
    ASCII Garbage
I am already starting to copy all important files to my external drive. I really appreciate any opinions.
    Thank you
    Matt

    Matt:
It is not necessary to wipe your drive to upgrade your OS. You can make sure the volume is in order by running Repair Disk from the install disk and, if necessary, run Tech Tool Pro, then use the installer to do an Archive and Install preserving your preferences and settings.
However, if you prefer to completely wipe the drive then install from scratch, here is how I would proceed:
    • Since you have an external HDD (hopefully a firewire drive), I suggest that you clone the entire volume on the internal HDD to the external HDD using SuperDuper. This will give you a full bootable backup should things go awry and you need to return.
    • Having made a full clone, I would then reformat and erase the HDD using Disk Utility (step by step directions follow).
    • I would then do a full install from the install disk. (step by step directions follow).
    • After the installation for the setup I would use Setup Assistant/Migration Assistant to move everything needed to be transferred from the cloned volume.
    Here are the directions promised:
Formatting, Partitioning Erasing a Hard Disk Drive
Warning! This procedure will destroy all data on your Hard Disk Drive. Be sure you have an up-to-date, tested backup of at least your Users folder and any third party applications you do not want to re-install before attempting this procedure.
    • With computer shut down insert install disk in optical drive.
    • Hit Power button and immediately after chime hold down the "C" key.
    • Select language
    • Go to the Utilities menu (Tiger) Installer menu (Panther & earlier) and launch Disk Utility.
    • Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left side bar.
    • Select Partition tab in main panel. (You are about to create a single partition volume.)
    • Click on Options button
    • Select Apple Partition Map (PPC Macs) or GUID Partition Table (Intel Macs)
    • Click OK
    • Select number of partition in pull-down menu above Volume diagram.
(Note 1: One partition is normally preferable for an internal HDD.)
    • Type in name in Name field (usually Macintosh HD)
    • Select Volume Format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    • Click Partition button at bottom of panel.
    • Select Erase tab
    • Select the sub-volume (indented) under Manufacturer ID (usually Macintosh HD).
    • Check to be sure your Volume Name and Volume Format are correct.
    • Click Erase button
    • Quit Disk Utility.
    Installation Process
(Note: You need not shut down and reboot after the reformat and erase. After you quit Disk Utility, simply being at Open Installer etc.)
    • With computer shut down insert install disk in optical drive.
    • Hit Power button and immediately after chime hold down the "C" key.
    • Select language
    • Open Installer and begin installation.
    • Select installation option
    • Choose to Customize and deselect Foreign Language Translations and Additional Printer drivers.
Optional: Check box to install X11 (Tiger and later) BSD Subsystems (Panther & earlier).
    • Proceed with installation.
    • After installation computer will restart for setup.
    • After setup, reboot computer.
    • Go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
    • Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left side bar.
    • Select First Aid in main panel.
    • Click Repair Disk Permissions.
    • Connect to Internet.
    • Download and install Mac OS X 10.5.5 Combo Update (Leopard) or
Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo update (PPC) (Tiger) or
    10.3.9 Combo Update (Panther)
    Computer will restart.
    • Repair Disk Permissions as previously.
    • Go to Apple Menu > Software Update.
    • Install all updates.
    Computer may restart after updates.
    • Go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
    • Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left side bar.
    • Select First Aid in main panel.
    • Click Repair Disk Permissions.

  • Sell old mac pro for new mac pro?

Ok, so I have a mac pro, 3ghz quad, x1900xt, 4 gb ram. I figure I could sell this for at least 2799.
question is, will the base model (2.8 octo) be faster that my 3 ghz quad. I am not talking about the video card. But if I were encode a 5 minute video in quicktime, which would be faster, and by how much.
my quad has a higher clock speed, but not by much.
the 2.8 is octo, and has a higher front side bus.
Basically, would you sell a 3 ghz quad, to get the 2.8 ghz octo. I am willing to do it if i get the feedback saying there would be a noticeable difference. Let me know what you think

    jb5023 wrote:
i also am thinking of doing it now, because I think if i wait i won't get as much off ebay. You should definetely do it, because you have the 2.66 quad, so you are definitely stepping up. I have the 3 ghz quad, so I don't know if i am stepping up. I think I will list my current 3 ghz quad on ebay tommorrow though. hopefully i can get at least 2799 for it.
well yes and no, since alot of the new MacPros probably havent shipped just yet....there is still of Quadcore stock out there, and youll be competing with alot of others doing the same thing, so it depends on timing and pricing.
also factoring in condition of the unit and accessories you can include to up the ante from the othe rsellers. maybe give it some time and see?
im in t he same position, i got my MacPro 2.66 and didnt realize it was already 9 months since they came out and i suspected some sort of revisions soon and couldnt refund it or anything as it was BTO w/ ATI
if you do do it soon, let me know how it goes. im just hesitant since im still liking Tiger, and alot of my stuff runs perfectly fine under tiger, i just dont want to regret having to focus on a whole new OS that still isnt patched things with alot of Programs/Apps.

  • Correctly installed Flash Player 11.5, prompted for new instalation

    Hello everybody,
I have a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and running a IE9, latest Firefox and Google Chrome.
I installed Flash Player 11.5 correctly, checking the version on Adobe.com.
Now, after using Flash Player on Youtube and other websites, I started getting prompted to install Flash Player 11.5.
First I canceled the process, but then the window came up again and I reinstalled the latest Flash Player 11.5.
At the same time, all the websites using this content were still working.
Please tell me what to do, because that Pop-up Window keeps on showing up to tell me to reinstall, while the Flash Player keeps working without any problems.
    Thank you

I'd experienced it on both Mac and Win 7, after second or third installation, it stopped popping up. It must have been a bug.

  • Encoder optimized for mac intel?

Flash 8 video encoder on current mac machines with intel
processors seems 6 times slower than on a pc - it's not optimized
    at all for mac intel.
Has anyone done perfomance tests with the new encoder? mac
intel for now is not mentioned anywhere on Flash CS3 product
    pages.

I've just downloaded the flash cs3 trial to try out the new
    encoder.
Although it looks like it is intel (you can use flv.component
with intel quicktime pro/final cut export) it is only using one
    core.
I did a quick test of a 2 min 720p hd file and it took more
than 15 minutes to encode. CPU was only showing 1 core active, that
was on 2ghz core 2 duo. Ill try it later on a G5 but if its not
using the other cores I cant see it being much better.
I was hoping it would be faster, i've tried ffmpeg &
    thats no better.
Anyone tried through parallels - is windows quicker?

  • New mac air for old mac air.

Hi. i bought a mac air last month and now i see that new mac air is coming out in the market. so can i exchange my mac air for new mac air?? what is apple exchange policy/?? help me please.

    Hey Everyone,
So today I went to the Apple Store to return my late 2010 model MBA, that was purchased on July, 2nd 2011, to buy the new MBA. It was very easy, and everyone that was involved was very kind. All I had to do was bring my receipt & the original packaging and they took it without any questions being asked. I was also able to upgrade to the 13" model with 4GB memory and 128GB flash storage (for a fee). So to answer the original question, through my own experience you should be able to return & exchange your MBA to the newer model if it was purchased within 30 days, good luck!

*Hi Donald, Welcome (Back)* to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
There was a thread on this issue a few days ago. There is a KB on Apple which lists OS w Build # and what Apple installed on it. The build # is at Blue Apple / About this Mac. IIRC if they installed Tiger and then it was Dealer upgraded to Leopard then you can install Tiger, a system specific Disc. Apple would be the best source—stay away from ebay as there are too many errors. Apple Care is probably your best source of info.
    Good Luck, JP

  • How long to recive new install disk

can anyone tell me how long you have to wait for new install disk as ive been waiting over a week now with a imac icant use. im glad i kept my windows pc im not very happy with apple having said that its nice looking paper weight.

On August 24 I requested one 15" PB G4 battery replacement and two 12" PB
battery replacements. Received two e-mail confirmations from Apple.
Within about three weeks I did receive the 15" PB replacement battery.
The two 12" PB replacements have never showed.
It would be nice if Apple could put up an announcement giving some indication when these batteries will ship.
BTW, I've continued using the bad batteries because I don't have another option. So far their behavior is 100% normal.
