Uninstall PSE 10 (to install 12)

I had PSE 10 and Premier 9 installed in Win.7^64. Bought PSE 12 and Premier 12.   PSE 10 is not listed in Control Panel for uninstalling.  (Noticing after its long use only when  I wanted to UN-install).  PSE 12 won’t install unless PSE 10 is gone.  No idea how to UN.install PSE 10. So far, feel screwed.  Premier 12 won't install, either.

For manually uninstallying PSE10, please see the article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/manually-remove-photoshop-elements-10.html
Just to let you know: Any two (or more) versions of PSE/PRE can co-exit. For intalling PSE/PRE12 you don't need to uninstall PSE/PRE10.

You might also ask for help in the Lightroom forum.
What I have found is that when I upgraded from PSE12 to 13, my Lightroom 5.6 still selected PSE12 in the list of external editors. I had to use the preferences menu to select the right PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 13 folder. I got a message stating that Photoshop Elements was already selected as external editor. In that message box, there is a button with the option to 'change anyway', which I did. Now LR correctly opens PSE13 when I choose Edit in Elements.

  • Uninstall PSE 11 Before PSE 12 Install?

Ready to upgrade to PSE 12 from PSE 11. Have lots of photo files in the Organizer. Do they import automatically in the same folders/albums as in PSE 11?  Easier to uninstall PSE 11 and just re-import the files from my cam cards? I want a trouble-free install. Thanks!

Okay, so, fast forward from July to now -
    - I've visited my closest Apple store's genius bar twice now. (Over an hour and a half away.)
    - My computer spent at least 8 hours behind their closed doors in the workshop
    - Several complete erases of the harddrive have taken place
    - Most of the Apple geniuses I dealt with were nice and very knowledgeable, but they were and still aren't 100% sure exactly what is wrong with my computer.
    The good news is:
    - They were able to at least get it running again, with a clean install from their servers of OS X Lion 10.7.5
    - They believe that my problems stem from either 1 of 2 things:
            - Faulty Hard Drive (even though it is brand new)
             - The wrong build of software being installed.
Now, while the wrong build does seem like it could be the problem, it doesn't make sense in the aspect that all of the initial problems began when the first hard drive failed. The same problems continued when I changed out the failed hard drive with the brand spanking new one, and only slightly improved when I was able to successfully install the OS that came with the original disks for my computer. I'm not convinced this thing is back to normal, but hopefully I can make it last through getting a shiny new retina Macbook Pro in the coming future. Thank you so much to everyone who read and replied to this post!

  • Uninstall PSE 10 manually due to windows re-install?

I have Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 10 installed on my "D" drive - windows 7 64 bit is installed on C.  I had to reinstall windows due to a crash and now have to reinstall all of my programs that I had installed on the other drive in order for them to work.  When I tried to re-install PSE, it said a version still exists (which it does on the D drive) and that I have to uninstall it first.  It does not show up in my start menu or in control panel to uninstall.  Must I completely uninstall it manually first?  Only other option I thought of was to install it in a different folder on D, but I'd rather not have 2 PSE programs installed - not even sure if that would work!
Do I need to do anything with the license?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

That depends how you reinstalled Windows; did you do a clean install, or a repair install?
If a clean install, then your Adobe applications are no longer installed, and you can just delete the files from the D: drive.
If a repair install, then your applications may actually still be fully functional.

  • PSE 10 install failed during organizer install...now cannot uninstall either...

Tried installing a download version of PSE 10 and PE10. PSE10 installed and was followed by PSE Organizer that failed half way through, then system reverted back and uninstalled. When I tried to install again, system tried to uninstall PSE 10 but fails due to empy directory message. Need a cleaner for PSE10 to wipe out and start again...

You can try utilizing the cleaner tool.  Complete instructions can be found at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

  • How do I uninstall and then install PSE 9 w/o losing one license?

I'm still unable to open the PSE 9 Organizer. Message: "Elements 9 Organizer has stopped working." My only alternative is to uninstall PSE 9 and re-install and hopefully that will solve the problem. But how do I do that and not "lose" one of the 2 licenses that comes with PSE 9?

OK, I uninstalled PSE 9 and reinstalled. I'm still unable to open the Organizer. I still receive the message: "Elements 9 Organizer has stopped working."
My next question is probably going to be: How do I send PSE/PPE 9 back and receive a refund. This is just crazy and very frustrating.

  • How do I uninstall PSE completely so I can install on a new computer?

How do I uninstall PSE completely so I can install on a new computer?

First go to Editor>Help>Deactivate. That's really the only thing you have to do if you've used both of your two installations already. If you want to uninstall PSE, then do it via Control Panel in Windows, or on a Mac use the uninstaller in the PSE  folder in Applications.
If you have a version of PSE prior to PSE 8, no need to deactivate unless you bought a serial number for the trial via the Buy It Now button in PSE. Otherwise there's no activation on earlier versions.

uninstall pse 10 (properly using the adobe uninstaller).
clean - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then try reinstalling using the adobe installation file(s).
if you see an activation count error while trying to reinstall contact adobe support, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html

  • I had to uninstall PSE 12 can not reinstall it, how do I do it???

Since I bought the paid version of PSE12 I have had nothing but problems. So folks said uninstall it, of course I was hesitant, since it did not seem to work well when my IT guy installed it.
Si I did today, have a disc and the # and it almost is finished, when this shows up:
The following applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup.
Close the applications and click retry,
It will not go any farther.
Called customer service, who kept me on hold for 20 minutes, barely could understand her, than she sent me to forums.adobe.com

    Can someone please help me.

Uninstalling PSE does nothing to your pictures. They are stored separately from the catalog.
What exactly does the message tell you to close? Which programs?

I'm having trouble installing a copy of PSE 10 on a Macbook Pro (Intel 2.4 GHz) with Mac OS X version 10.6.8.  I've tried downloading the software twice and get errors on both copies.  Here is the latest error:

The second downloaded version made it farther than the first on the installation.  It makes it to the installation of PSE 10 and then jumps from 60% installed to 98% and shows the above message.  This is getting really frustrating given that it takes me several hours to download a copy of this software.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the advice.  Unfortunately, it didn't work.  I deleted (and emptied the trash) of the Adobe folder in the Hard drive>library>application support folders, uninstalled the partial install of PSE 10 using Adobe's uninstall, turned off the antivirus software, and tried installing from a new administrative account.  Here is the error code from this most recent attempt.

This computer has had some previous Photoshop versions migrated to it over the years (Photoshop 4.0 for OS 9, and Photoshop 7.0).  Photoshop 7.0 stopped working after I upgraded the OS from Tiger to Snow Leopard, and I no longer have the disks or serial number so that is why I'm trying install PSE 10.  Could these old versions (which I tried to delete, but did not have a specific uninstall version for) be a source of this issue?  If so, is there a way to make sure they're all gone?
    Thanks

  • In trying to uninstall PSE10 and then re-install, got error message 2343:specified path is empty.  I can't continue uninstall or re-install.

Hello.  I couldn't get my Topaz plug-ins to work (kept crashing without saving the image), so I uninstalled/reinstalled, and no improvement.  So I decided to uninstall and re-install PSE 10 to see if that would help.  I got an error message: 2343: Specified path is empty, and then the uninstall quit. That's where I am now.  Can't find it in my Control Panel Uninstall programs list, but it is still in the programs file.  Not sure if I should delete all the folders and .dll's in the program folder.  (It wasn't showing up in the Control Panel before I tried to use the disks, either.)  I'm using Windows Vista.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

Nevermind.  I found it by searching Google. "Error 2343.Specified path is empty" | Install | Windows
