Uninstall PSE 9 with Windows 8

I am trying to uninstall photoshop elements 9 after installing PSE 12. I am using Windows 8 and all the instructions I have found to manually uninstall are for Windows 7 or Windows XP. I keep getting an error message like the one shown below.

PSE 5 with Windows 8 problems

I've already posted a couple of problems with my PSE 5 with Windows 8, the main being it won't connect with my camera even though it is in the menu. I also wonder why when I click on updates, the box states it is unable to check for update for this product. How strange is that? This elements 5 worked perfect with my Windows XP even opening automatically to get photos. I'm not very good with all this tech stuff, but am ready to just uninstall it for good. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it get the photos and updates?

Yes. I never used it to edit or really ever learned about using it! I only
ended up using it to grab my photos and organize them. I never like my
pictures, so maybe the new windows version will be better. I have my canon
rebel which I can use to get the photos. I just like the elements as I am
used to it now. It's weird that out of 5 times, I got it to get my photos
once! But ever since I added the service pack suggested to me, it has done
nothing and even disappeared from the task bar icons. Guess it's no meant
to stay! Thanks!

PSE 6 with Windows 7 - three cursor images

This is a new problem. I have PSE 6 and Windows
7. Everytime I use the move tool, it shows up as three cursor images
on my work page.
To be sure it isn't the combination of the PSE6 with W/7
I downloaded PSE 9 trial.
I am still having the same problem with a fresh new download.
Anyway to correct this?
Other tools look normal on the page.

Adobe PSE 8 with Windows 8

I have Adobe PSE 8 on our laptop with Windows 7 but we got a new laptop with Windows 8 and my software won't load on the new laptop. I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong or if it isn't compatible. I don't mind upgrading to Adobe PSE 13 but am concerned I will have trouble with all my existing PSE files. Please advise.

I can't be certain, but I can't see any reason why PSE 8 shouldn't be compatible with Windows 8.1.
Do you get any error message when trying to install PSE 8?
If you were to upgrade to PSE 13, there should not be any problem with your existing files. It would be best to use the organizer's Backup Catalog to hard drive on the old computer and then the restore catalog on the new computer. That way both the catalog information and the photos will be transferred across.
I suggest that you make sure that there are no missing files in your current system.

In Photoshop Elements12 (with Windows 8.1) added titles to my pictures do not appear in Windows. Formerly, in PSE 6 (with Windows Vista) added tiltles also appeared in Windows.

Formerly using Photoshop Elements 6 with Windows Vista I could add (or change) titles to my pictures in the Organizer and find the same titles afterwards also in Windows. Nowadays using Photoshop Elements 12 with Windows 8.1 and adding titles to my pictures in the Organizer I do not find these titles in Windows any more. That makes me sad because I want to have the titles in Windows but adding the titles is much more comfortable in Photoshop Elements than in Windows. Please tell me: Is there a help for me?

I have a Dell U3014 as well as a couple of older Dells turned up sideways as "ears".
Other than supplying the desktop "theme" (if you can call a complete lack of style along with a fair bit of inconsistency a "theme"), the OS really shouldn't be causing you to have a washed-out desktop experience. That's more a
matter of your display driver not really doing its job. What video card do you have?
FYI, one of the reasons I like Aero Glass for Win 8.1 (a 3rd party package) is that it allows me to make the desktop more pleasant to use and helps set the client areas (i.e., where work gets done) apart from the window chrome.
From what I can see, the color-management logic in Windows 8.1 is essentially unchanged from what it was in Windows 7. That there has been NO progress in this area is really a disappointment. It's an area where Microsoft has again just stopped
trying to make improvements.
If it's at all interesting to you, here's a screen grab of a REALLY cluttered up desktop. I don't normally work this way; this was an exercise to see how much I could get running. I finally gave up starting more stuff as I grew tired
and it just kept working fine...

PSE 6 with windows 8

I am trying to send an email in Photoshop Elements 6 on PC with Windows 8. The email will not go through. I have tried both options. I checked with AT&T and they said that Windows Mail is not compatible with Windows 8.1 right now. They suggested that I download Mozilla Thunderbird but still couldn't send email with Elements. I tried using the Adobe Email Service and I never get a code in my email to input. Does anyone have any suggestions or a workaround to make this work?

Try again with the Adobe email service. Sometimes the servers are just busy and it’s woth making several attempts. I’ve found it usually works best with web mail via Adobe after obtaining verification. I know some email services block bulk email completely and I’ve only tested it with Gmail which works fine. Should also work with other web mail e.g. Yahoo and Hotmail. Give it a try. Before you start it will help to check your internet security settings. If they are set to High, reduce the settings to Medium temporarily. Then follow these instructions.
1. Log in to your mail provider on the web and add the following email to your address/contacts book. [email protected] 2. Open Organizer and on the menu click: Edit >> Preferences >> Sharing 3. Choose Adobe Email Service from the client dropdown menu.4. Add your name and email address to the fields provided and click OK5. Test the system (first use only) by selecting a photo in organizer and choosing Share >> Photo Mail then click Next (Mac users should use attachments)6. Choose a contact then click Next7. Click Next Step, then click Next - the sender verification dialog will open.8. Check you have spelt your email address correctly and hit the Resend E-Mail button.9. Go to your inbox (also check spam) and when the Adobe mailer message is received copy (Ctrl+C) the long verification code.10. PSE 7 with windows 7 cannot get edited pics just not back in Org ?

Since installinng windows 7 I have not been able to edit pictures and have them back in Organizer just have a blank icon this happend after
installing windows photo gallery. went to default tried to put defalt as Adobe photoshop elements organizer but it will only show
editor. if I go to windows gallery the pic can be opened but why can't we have it stay in pse?

Try making a direct shortcut to the Organizer.
Right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)
Select it and click OK
Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.

CAN'T UNINSTALL ALL FILES WITH WINDOWS

In trying to move Photoshop Album 2 Starter Edition from my "C" drive to my "D" drive it became corrupted and the Uninstall file became disconnected from the program. I downloaded it from the web again and was able to use the Windows XP uninstall to remove it. But, after doing so I ran a search of my computer and found the following two files still on my "C" drive: Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition and Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition.msi. When I click on the program file I get an error dialog box noting:"Photoshop Album cannot start or continue because of missing file(s). Please reinstall."
The second (.msi) file appears to be an installer file located in: "C\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations\{30F65707-62BC-4443-BB21-86DA6E7F8A55}"
My question is: can I simply click on delete for these two files or do I have to go into the registry to remove either of these. And, if so, which registry keys do I need to change/remove?
Now that there is a Photoshop Album 3.0 Starter Edition, I want to download and install it, but on my "D" drive.
If anyone can help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it.

Uninstalling software does not always remove all the files from the system, Decent software manufactures often inform you that not all files have been removed, and suggest that they can be deleted via Windows Explorer.
If these "left behind" files are non executionable, that is, they don't start the application, then there will be no problem sending them to the recycling bin.

Pse 7 with windows live mail

I just upgraded my vista version to windows 7 and now using windows live mail. I use pse7 for my editing program. When I go to send an email attachment from my organizer I now must use adobe email since windows live mail is not an option. My question is this: Why doesn't adobe email show that I have sent the email in my sent box? It always did in outlook and windows mail. It is nice checking my sent box to make sure it went through. Any explanations would be appreciated. Thank you.

Because the email wasn't actually sent by Windows Live Mail. PSE sent the message directly to Adobe's email servers, which then delivered it to the recipients, and it was never handled by Windows Live Mail. If you want a copy, you'll need to cc yourself.
Many people have complained that PSE 8 doesn't support Windows Live Mail, but Adobe doesn't seem to care.

PSE 10 with windows XP editor

I select a picture from a catagory, click on single view and click the dropdown box for edit. It does not matter which I select full, quick or guided. the tools come up on the left as they should in full or quick but the selected picture does not appear. Am I doing something wrong or has my program taken a holiday. Very frustrating. I have shut down and rebooted to no avail. HELP. Thanks in advance, Tom

As a process of elimination try a quick test.
Open Full edit and click File >> Open
Then navigate to your folder and choose your image.

Quicktime needed for PSE 13 for Windows 7?

Do I really need Quicktime for PSE 13 with Windows 7? I did a trial version and did not have Quicktime and it seemed to work fine without. I now have Quicktime 7 on my Windows 7 computer, thinking that I really needed it.

Here is something to try -- I have no idea what "Error:1" means, but ...
Go into "Program Files/adobe/Photoshop Elements 8.0".
There you will find separate .exe files for the Organizer and the Editor,
try running either one directly and see what you get -- might point
you a bit at least.
If all else fails, uninstall, reboot, re-install and try again.
These are just generic attempts to fix a problem, I don't know
PSE8 much I use PSE7.

InDesign CS6 with Window 8 Won't Launch

Had been working fine, last launch was 3 days ago. Today tried to open InDesign CS6 (Windows 8.1) and get the following InDesign.exe error box: "CAnot load InDesign.exe because it requires Paragraph Composer. Please install the Paragraph Composer plug-in and restart InDesign." How do you do this, where do you get?

I would certainly try just doing ID first. If that's not successful you can remove the whole suite, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) then reinstall.

Problems with PSE 8.0 (windows 7)

Hello,
PSE 8 doesn't work anymore on my PC with windows 7
Organizer opens well and also it is possible to import images, but it is not possible to give tags to images. So I cannot organize my images.
When I try to edit an image in Editor, Editor opens well, but no image is shown in Editor, so it doesn't work anymore.
I did repair the catalogue (no faults were detected) but I don't know what to do.....
It do not look like a complete crash? No blue screens or warnings.... and so I don't know what this is!
Yesterday I made a complete backup, inclusive all the tags en properties of the images.
Please help and thank you in advance!!

I did not use the trial version of PSE 7 but installed directly from a purchased CD. The "registration" option under the help menu of the editor is not highlighted and there is no option to deactivate the serial number under help in either the editor or the organizer. Therefore I must assume that Ankush is correct that there is nothing that I need to do prior to uninstalling PSE 7.
Also, am I correct to assume that since this original post was marked as a discussion and not a question, I do not need to close it in any way?

Why does new PSE 8 and 9 both crash on my new Toshiba laptop with Windows 7?

I bought new PSE Elements 8 and 9 and both crashed immediately on my new Toshiba Satellite P 755 laptop with Windows 7 64 bit OS. I tried going into Properties of PSE 9 and going to Compatability and putting in Windows 7 but it didn't do any good. Please help!

Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.
