Uninstall/reinstall Soundtrack Pro

Many apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I tried searching for the topic to no avail.
I have problems with Soundtrack Pro and I want to uninstall it and reinstall it.
Any recommendations as to the simplest way forward would be welcome!
All other Logic Studio Applications are fine.
Many thanks

Thanks for your input. Soundtrack is hanging on launch, although strangely all the menus are available and I can quit the application using them. It is simply that the main application window never appears, and the launch graphic remains.
Trashing preferences has not helped.
Does anyone out there know if I can just drag the Sountrack App to the trash and then re-install it using the Logic discs? Or will this be asking for trouble?
For what it's worth, the "console" utility shows the following regarding the problem
21/10/2008 17:55:48 Soundtrack Pro[1235] Exception raised during posting of notification. Ignored. exception: 'Invalid parameter not satisfying: m_mainWindow' invoked observer method: '* -[LoopAppController applicationDidFinishLaunching:]' observer: 0xfb3590 notification name: 'NSApplicationDidFinishLaunchingNotification'

  • REINSTALL Soundtrack Pro. How ?

After getting " Main window missing messages ERROR " i decided to try an reinstall
on my SP that i use syncing video after producing music in Logic 9.
But since the app was uppdated my installer now wont allow me to install this program.
I dont understand at all. I have gotten rid of the library files in all user accounts as well as
the program. And still the install disc wont let me even click on the Soundtrack Pro in the meny.
Funny thing is that i CAN choose to reinstall Logic studio again that has the SAME updates as SP.
    Any ideas ?

  • If I uninstall/reinstall PP pro cs5.03, will I need to reactivate it?

My PP is having a problem (see my other post) and Ive got to the point where a reinstall is my only hope of a cure, Will I need to reactivate it when I reinstall? not a prob if I do, but the workstation does not have a net connection at the moment and will involve moving it to an access point to activate - which is a bit of a faff.
    Im on version 5.03 CS5
    Thanks

REinstalling does not affect existing activations, but sßpecific circumstances may still trigger a validation check and require an online connection. You won't know until you try.

  • How to uninstall Soundtrack Pro

    Hi,
I've upgraded to Logic Studio 2 and I only use Logic Pro. All has been fine but my disk is near to be full, so I want to recover some space uninstalling Soundtrack Pro ( v3.0 ) and the contents associated with it.
I have not found any reference to a customized uninstall in the documentation from Apple. Is there any 'official' procedure to uninstall only Soundtrack Pro ?? Or delete all apps to do a clean install ??
    Regards,
    Joan

The app for STP3 is not very large. It is in Applications folder.
Other content like Apple Loops and sound beds are used by Logic too. You can find these here -

  • Soundtrack Pro crashes every time!

    Hello!
I've read that many people in here had problems when starting Sountrack Pro. I've just bought Logic Studio 8 and installed everything in the package. All seems to be working fine, but Soundtrack Pro crashes when I try to start the application. The main window appears on the screen, but then It freezes and I can't do anything until I force application to finish. I've reinstalled Soundtrack Pro, deleted the preferences, uninstalled Compressor and then reinstalled Soundtrack and Compressor... no one of this actions solved the problem. What can I do? I'm desperated! I'm using Leopard 10.5.2 and I've downloaded software updates.
    Please help!

Oh my god! Finally I made it work!!
What I've done is this: Right click on the Soundtrack Pro icon at the Applications Folder, select Explore the package and search for the executable on the directories below. Then, execute that file, and then it will launch a terminal session while Soundtrack is initialiting. In the terminal window appears the message error that made Soundtrack Pro crash. In my case, there was a file from a plugin I uninstalled so long ago that was causing conflict with Soundtrack. I deleted it and then Soundtrack launched perfectly!
I'm so happy I think I could dance!

Hi. I'm having the same problem. I just did a complete wipe and reinstall of my MacBook Pro and installed a fresh copy of Logic Studio. I've been using Logic Pro quite happily for a week or so but tried to open Soundtrack Pro for the first time last night and it barely bounced once in the dock then it said that Soundtrack Pro quit unexpectedly. I tried a couple of times including resetting the application but still no joy. I then reinstalled Soundtrack Pro only from the Logic Studio installer DVD but it still isn't opening. Any ideas would be much appreciated. My whole machine is up to date via software update and I have also run Disk Utility and there are no problems. There is basically nothing on my machine at the moment either having done a complete reinstall. Are there any library files that could be deleted to fool it into opening fresh again? Plists etc perhaps? My error log brings up the same thing at the bottom saying that no image was found.
Will keep digging around the archives and see if I can come up with anything.

  • Soundtrack Pro crashed. Now can't open or create new audio files.

I was editing an audio file in Soundtrack Pro v1.1. I also had Flash, Parallels and a few other applications open. I plugged in my USB headset. Parallels crashed. Then Soundtrack Pro hung up. Then I had a complete system crash and needed to restart. After restarting I can no longer open Soundtrack Pro files or create new files. All other applications including Final Cut Pro seem to be working fine. I tried reinstalling Soundtrack Pro, but that didn't help. I don't get passed the Soundtrack Pro spash page. I can select menu items such as preferences, help, and even new. However, when I select create new file nothing happens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I deleted the preferences file (soundtrack.plist), then restarted the application. That didn't work.

  • Soundtrack Pro 2.02 will not open

I purchased Logic Studio as soon as it was available. When the update came out I loaded it just fine. Logic Studio works perfectly. Soundtrack Pro will not open at all. I clicked on the alias in the dock, the icon bounced one, and then just sat there. Removed the alias from the dock and tried to open from the apps folder. Same thing. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Not sure what the problem was but I reinstalled Soundtrack Pro and all is working now. If anyone else is having similar problems, try a clean reinstall.

I went to the Apple Store and asked about this, and they said I should reinstall Soundtrack Pro. I tried trashing Soundtrack Pro, and popped in the installation disc for Logic Studio 9 (upgrade from Logic Express 9). I tried, but the button for Soundtrack Pro was disabled. The Apple Store told me I should go to Genius Bar and get my iMac fixed, but before I do that, I wanted to ask here. Please Reply!
P.S. I do have the latest Logic update.

Soundtrack has crashed for me as well. I went to Digital Rebellion, took out Soundtrack, deleted Soundtrack in trash, reinstalled from originals TWICE and come up empty handed. I have to do a hard shut down of Soundtrack just to get out of the program- that's where you shut the computer down at the CPU.
It's really looking like Soundtrack is a dead program. It's very depressing to a voiceover with lots of saved tracks that can only be opened in Soundtrack. I use a Mac Pro 8 core (Snow Leopard) and all of my other programs work fine. Anyone know a solution or have a suggestion for a multitrack program that can do what Soundtrack once did for me?
Hey Studio X. Been a while. It was going well for me but it seems like the end of the road. Any sage advice?

  • Does Soundtrack Pro 3.0.1 work with Mountain Lion?

    Hi there,
I purchased my iMac (Lion 2.7 GHz i5) and Logic Studio Pro 9 at the same time, everything installed fine but Soundtrack Pro did not open with Lion.
Since updated to Mountain Lion and obviously still not working.
Is there anything I can do to get this working as it might be usefull in the future?
Should I try reinstalling Soundtrack Pro or the full Logic Studio?
    Many thanks,

    hi Karl:
here's my follow up to your question "Do you know if I'll need compressor at some point after using soundtrack?"  i'm not sure, since i don't really know what you'll be doing on your projects w/ LogicPro.  but here's my suggestion which help you gain some insight.
go to support.apple.com/manuals/   ...find the .pdf manual for "Compressor 4" latest should be Jun2012.  might be about 6MB.  just read thru & see what features it does, & how certain steps can help you in your project.  this ought to help you foresee if you'll need Compressor or just want it, in the future.  Chap 12 seems to discussing Dolby digital professional outputs, Surrouand sound, & spatial mxing.

  • Soundtrack Pro freezing with plugins issue

When I try to open Soundtrack Pro it freezes whilst trying to load the plug ins on one plugin in particular. Yet when I open Logic it has no problems with this plugin.
Is there any key I can hold down to prevent Soundtrack Pro scanning my plugin folder?
I've opened Logic's audio unit manager and disabled the offending plugins, but this doesn't seem to have changed anything as Soundtrack Pro still freezes when it scans the same plugins. I've also reinstalled Soundtrack Pro, but the problem still occurs.
    Any ideas?

Here are a few places to check:
    STP preferences for sync:
    STP preferences for recording
The System Preferences for audio in and out
and then the app: Audio Midi Setup

  • Uninstalling Soundtrack Pro and Loops

With the recent purchase of a MacBook Pro I also acquired the Final Cut Studio HD. I have run out of space on my local hard drive and in the process of cleaning it off and moving programs and files to an external I am looking to delete Soundtrack Pro and all of the Loops that come with that program.
What I am wondering is the best and safest way to remove these files without affecting the rest of the Final Cut Suite.
So if someone can clue me in on the best way to uninstall Soundtrack Pro, Soundtrack Loops, Motion and any program with Final Cut HD without affecting the others I would really appreciate it.
In a related question are the bundled software programs such as iPhoto and GarageBand located on any discs that come with the computer or would uninstalling them leave me without the option to reinstall them at a later date?
    Thanks!
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo/2 GB SDRAM

iPhoto and GarageBand are on the Install discs.
Get the external drive and move your Final Cut files (not the app) there.
I imagine it uses lots and lots of space when editing. so make sure you clear out everything after you finish a project.
