Uninstall Trial? Full version just arrived.

How should I install the full version, should I get rid of the trial first?
Any ideas.
Thanks

It really is crazy that under Windows we had all these hoops to jump through before we could actually use the computer for the task. It feels utterly weird for things to "just work" or "oh, I thought it would be more difficult than that" ... and that's after 3 years with Macs.
I still get surprised ... threw my old USB inkjet printer onto an Airport Express. I went to System Prefs to configure, but Bonjour had already found it for me. Awesome! (Meanwhile it took me a month of Sundays to get a different printer to work on my IP network under WinXP.)

ISSUE: After attempting to uninstall trial version of
Dreamweaver, I cannot install purchased full version of Dreamweaver
    CS3 because error message says:
Already Installed. There are no obvious files left.
Preferences folder has been deleted, too.
DETAILS: Prior to purchasing the full version of Dreamweaver
CS3, I downloaded the trial version to make sure it would work on
my Mac. It was an incredible program. I purchased Dreamweaver CS3
as part of the Adobe Master Collection. The installation process
for the Master Collection was very simple. When it came time for
the Dreamweaver portion of the installation, I was alerted that the
installation could not be completed until the trial version of
Dreamweaver was deleted. Being relatively new to the Mac OS, I
called Adobe Tech Support to find out how to delete the trial
version. I was advised that deleting programs on the Mac is as
simple as dragging the folder to the trash. I dragged the
executable file to the trash, and they said that should be it. I
emptied the trash, restarted the computer, and then attempted to
complete the installation process. Same error, it says Dreamweaver
is already installed. I did a search for any files or folders with
the word "dream" in it, and deleted those that appeared to relate
to Dreamweaver. Dumped trash, restart, attempt to install - same
    problem, Dreamweaver is already installed.
I cannot find any remnants of the trial Dreamweaver, and I
still can't install the purchased version! I have called Adobe Tech
Support on four different occasions and each time, I have been
transferred from one person to the next, each one not familiar with
    the Mac.
I bought the Master Collection so I could have Dreamweaver,
and now it's the only thing I can't use!
I have combed the internet for suggestions on how to fix
this. I have found detailed lists here in Adobe support files that
list each file used by Dreamweaver that must be deleted. I deleted
each folder, file, etc. There doesn't appear to be anything left,
but I still can't install. I can't use the installer program
because it was one of the things that got deleted! The Master
Collection's installer won't install, uninstall, or repair the
    trial version.
    I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

On the Mac, DO NOT drag applications to the trash to
    uninstall them. To
    safely uninstall software, double-click
    the product installer in Applications/Utilities/Adobe
    Installers.
Authenticate as an administrator, then select
Remove Components and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Trouble Installing CS4 - 32bit Win7 (Trial & Full Version)

I tried installing the full version on my laptop yesterday, and when the RIBS installer opened, it only gave me an option to install the XMP Panels CS4 or kuder - not the actual application. I thought it might be an issue with my CD, so I downloaded the trial, tried to install and the same thing happened. Even if I tried installing those two, it gave me an "Please Insert Photoshop CS4" CD error - even though I'm installing it from a download onto my desktop. What's going on? How can I fix this?
    Information that might help:
    - Windows-7, 32-bit computer
    - Using administrator account
Please help! Need this fixed as soon as possible.

Thank you guys - it looks like it must be a permissions issue, but I still can't figure it out. I have 3 accounts set up, "jaremy", which I set up as an administrator when I initially installed, "jrich", which is what I use to connect to the network (in the users folder it has a lock on it), and "Administrator", which I never set up, and have no idea what the login is.
I did the windows install myself, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't have permissions to my own directories, but I've tried installing on both "jaremy" and "jrich", and both have the same issue. I tried running the program as an administrator with windows defender off, and it still did not work. Any other suggestions?
Mylenium: I also cannot find my local Temp directory (there's no "AppData" folder within my local user name).

  • Can I download and install CS3 (NOT TRIAL - full version)?

I have the original CDs and serial #s but no optical drive on my new laptop. I have it installed on my iMac, and it may be on my OLD laptop, which is dead. I understand you may only have Adobe products on two machines, so I would want to deactivate it from my old MacBook somehow. My new laptop is a MacBook Pro with no optical drive. I tried to put the discs in the optical drive on my iMac, but they couldn't be read for some reason and it spit them back out. I think I have a problem with the CD drive on my desktop. I was going to try to install them in the new machine over the network, but since I have no working optical drive, I can't do that.
Would I be able to download and install my full CS3 Design Premium software if I give the serial numbers? I purchased it back in December of 2009.
I am not interested in the trial versions, since I own this software - that is all I've seen posted as "answers" to similar questions - a link to a site with trial version downloads.
I'm not interested in upgrading at this time, either - I just want to be able to use the software I already own, which works just fine for me.
    Thank you.

That's right – entering a valid serial number into any Adobe trial version will always convert it to a full working release, even for old software.

  • I have just bought VAIO Fit 11A and it come up with a bundled PSE12. is it trial or full version?

I have just bought VAIO Fit 11A and it come up with pre-loaded PSE12. In the first time I ran it, PSE request the Abode ID so I created the Adobe ID.
Then, it run and work properly but today it show the notice that the software is trial version and can be used for 30 days or enter the key.
So, My question is the bundled PSE12, is the full version? If it's full version, how can I find the key? Should I contact Sony support or Adobe support team?
    Thank you.

You will need either a serial number or a redemption code (which lets you get a serial number). For bundled versions, whoever bundled it (in your case Sony) is responsible for distributing the serial numbers, so you'd need to talk to them, or else wherever you bought the computer.

  • I just purchased the upgrade from trial to full version. It does not work. It asks for my orginal serial key and when I paste in the trial key it says invalid??

Downloaded trial and then purchased the activate the full version option. The activation keys don't work. It wants an 'original' key. When I use the trial key it rejects it as invalid! Have I just been robbed of 75 quid?

    lanceblack,
You know, I had seen your similar post in other forum with same issue. This itself is confusing for other participants including myself to keep track of forum discussion regarding same issue.
It would be nice if you keep your issue in proper forum in one place, less confusion for others.
Corky02 said better than I did yesterday. I am not quite sure why or what impresssion that you'd easily upgrade from try-out app into full-license. For many people are aware that what it means or what does this having to do with upgrading qualification with any applications. Why did you think you would get to upgrade that easily from trail try out app to licensed one?
I don't think the Apple's ads are misleading. I just think you got yourself confused. Sorry I can't help you. IF I am Apple employee, I would love to help you and get this resolved for you. I am just one of those participants helping others.
Once again, I am sorry that you get your view all wrong and lead into thinking that you are entitled to do so. But you need to understand that once if you had purchased a full license app from try-out app. Most people know what does that mean with try out app for the first time. And most people know that if they wish to purchase an application, this means purchasing a boxed (or electronic downloaded file) from Apple retail store (or online store). Plus, new venue at Apple offering Mac App store. I think that is a little confusion for some people who are not familiar with the difference.
I do believe that if you purchase from Mac App store, it doesn't require to put in license serial number. I think it is a different approach for some reason. I had bought some other Mac apps (not Aperture) from Mac App store few times. I haven't purchased Aperture updated version straight from Mac App store online. I bought mine from Apple retail store in Canada in person.
I still don't understand why you still think Apple is misleading you all the way. I don't think it is. In case if you haven't notice... there is way for you to get in touch with Apple called Apple Support Express Lane. Give it a try.

  • I have the trial version of LR5, do I need to buy full version or just the upgrade?

I have the trial version of LR5, do I need to buy full version or just the upgrade?

If you have a paid-up version of LR4 or earlier, you can pay for an upgrade licence.  When you install LR and it asks for a licence, if you give it an upgrade licence then it will ask for the previous licence that you're upgrading.

  • Lightroom: upgrade from trial to full version, how to enter license key?

I installed Lightroom from Creative Cloud (CC) trial on Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. The version is LR 5.6. I do not want CC, so I purchased the full version of LR on DVD. I was going to reinstall LR from the DVD, but see that it is only version 5.2. I have already done a fair amount of work with the trial LR 5.6 and am worried about losing the catalog that I have created.
So I thought I could apply the full version license key to the trial install, but there is no place to do that within LR. When I bring up the CC master application it shows that I have 5 days left with LR, but still has no way to apply a license key.
I had a very long and frustrating chat session with tech support. In the end I was advised to uninstall the trial, then install the full version. I might be able to download LR 5.6 full and simply install that.
So let me summarize my questions:
Is there any way to apply the license key for standalone full version of LR to the trial version that was installed using CC?
If I uninstall trial version, will I be able to install LR 5.6 download and apply license key?
If I cannot install from download and instead have to install from purchased DVD, will version 5.2 be able to import the existing catalog? Will subsequent upgrade(s) to 5.6 go smoothly?
What about the catalog? Will the existing catalog simply be found during a new installation? Or do I have to manually import?
I've found the community help in the LR forum to be very good - and that is why I am abandoning ACDSee after many years Thank you all for your help.

You should just uninstall what you have installed for LR 5.x, now, then download and install the LR 5.6 update from the Adobe Updates page, and enter your standalone serial number, and things should pick up where you left off.
You might want to go into LR’s preferences (if LR is still opening for you) and see where the catalog (.lrcat) file actually resides on your computer in case you have a problem and have to double-click on that .lrcat file to open your catalog, but my experience is that nothing will seem different after you’ve installed the new version other than the version number will be newer.  The preferences, catalog, and pictures are somewhere different than where the program is installed so uninstalling and reinstalling shouldn’t affect any of it.
LR 5.6 update is here:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
FYI, the CC-LR is licensed by logging into CC, the standalone version is licensed by entering a serial number.  That is why you have to uninstall the CC_licensed version and install the non-CC-licensed version.
It also probably wouldn’t mess anything up to install LR 5.2 from the DVD, but then you’d have to turn around and immediately download the LR 5.6 update, anyway, and it would waste time, so why not start with the latest update.  The update is a fully function program, not a patch to an existing program.  It’ll either find your existing licensing information if you’ve already entered the serial number or ask for a serial number if it doesn’t find anything—which sounds like your situation.

  • Converting PM from trial to full version

I had asked in another thread whether I could download and install the current tryout version of PM, and then use my old serial number from a PM 7 upgrade I had registered with Adobe back in 2002.  I was under the impression this process would work for InDesign, or at least since ID required "activation," but PM dates to another era and my memory is not that good.  No one answered, so I went ahead and installed the Tryout, and can now report that the Tryout version does not allow conversion to the full version by adding a valid serial number; in fact, the Tryout installs itself in a special Tryout folder, suggesting that it expects to be un-installed before the full version is installed.
I kept searching through old stuff  and eventually turned up my original PM 7.0 CD -- an upgrade -- but not the carton it came in.  I uninstalled the tryout, installed PM7.0, and found that because it was an upgrade I needed a valid serial number from an earlier PM.  The only serial number on Adobe's cardboard sleeve for my PM6.5 Plus was for the bundled Photoshop, but having registered my purchase with Adobe I could still retrieve the number, a string of 15 digits.  PM 7 upgrade rejected this, as well as the 15-digit serial number for PM5 (not to mention the PS serial number from my PM6.5 CD).
I had done a cautious un-install of the tryout: when the un-install process said there were elements that might possibly be shared with other programs, I let it preserve those lest I disrupt the CS2 software I still use occasionally.  After my valid serial numbers were rejected, I threw caution to the wind and re-installed the tryout so I could zap it completely.  Not surprisingly, the re-installed tryout found traces of its previous incarnation, reporting I had just 7 days remaining in my 30-day trial (I thought I'd started the day with 8).  I un-installed again, this time telling it to take everything.  I then tried installing my PM7 upgrade again, and this time it accepted  the serial number from my PM5 carton: the same 15 digits preserved in Adobe's registration, but this time broken up by hyphens, NN-NNNN-NNNNNNNNN.  I think I had tried the hyphen-less version first, and thus that the hyphens made the difference, though they key may have been the complete un-install.
A quick test of suggests IDCS2 is happy as ever on my XP machine.  Perhaps I should add that I have carefully avoided upgrading the OS to XP SP3, dimly recalling that SP3 can complicate ID's ability to read PM files.  For what its worth, I turned up the box for my Mac PM6 which shows the serial number as a single string of 14 alphanumerics, two of which are letters.

InDesign CS2 will not be able to open PM files on XP SP3, Vista, or Win 7.

  • I bought JPEG mini full version back in Jan2013, its reverted back to a trial version, I shouldn't have to buy this again, I would like it returned to my account please

Apple products r suppose to b great, since I've had my new big screen MAC my bought products & accounts w $$ in it has been just disappearing or Apps purchased r reverting back to trial apps. How do I get this fixed. I'm not paying for my apps again.
    Shadow59

The Mac App Store doesn't offer or even allow "trial" versions. What probably happened is that you had a trial version directly from the software developer and when purchasing and downloading the app from the Mac App Store the limitation in the trial version wasn't removed. You usually have to uninstall the trial version, using whatever uninstall procedure the developer prescribes, and then download the full version from the Mac App Store.
As to redownloading, uninstall the app as per the developer's instructions, then go to the Purchases area of the App Store app. You can redownload anything you've purchased there.
    Regards.

  • Color shift going from trial version to full version CS5

Hi guys, I have just gone from trial version of CS5 master collection to a full version of master collection CS5 on my PC.
My trial expired so I uninstalled it completely, then reinstalled fresh from the CS5 DVD. I also updated all of the programs straight after the install. (something which I don't think I did with the trial version).
My problem now is though I am experiencing quite a big color shift from what the trial version was showing me to what my full version is showing me. (Yes I have checked the color settings, they are all pretty much default North American General Purpose 2)
In the trial version the colors were correct, but now my file I am working on my "mouve blue have moved into almost a purple appearance."
Also if I go into acrobat and open the PDF version of the file I was previously working on the colors are also displaying incorrectly when opening the PDF that was created in the trial (which was displaying correct when using the trial). So I guess its not just PS related.
I have a laptop which is also running a trial version of master collection, and when I copy my file to this machine and open the colors are spot on how they should be (just like they were prior to me going full version) which tells me something has definatley changed in this installed full version of CS5 for me.
Not sure what I should do, unstall the software and reinstall it without doing the updates?
PS. Under color managment / advanced, windows color system defaults, my Device profile is: System Default (sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
Viewing conditions profile: System default (WCS profile for sRGB viewing conditions)
I havent changed anything there anyway in any install.
    Any help would be great

Some key points to help understand why you might be seeing what you are:
When color-management is set up properly with a wide gamut monitor, sRGB images can seem dull and lifeless compared to wider gamut images such as those expressed in Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB.
Not all apps are color-managed, so with e.g. a wide gamut monitor you'll see a significant visual difference between the same image displayed via a color-managed app such as Photoshop and a non-color-managed app such as Internet Explorer 8 and earlier.  Even though the color-managed applications may be displaying accurate color, many folks feel the inconsistency is "wrong" as compared to when more different apps display the same colors, which will happen with sRGB as the monitor profile (which is the Windows default).
People often consider more vibrant, saturated color "better".
Color management often does not actually work properly.  Not all profiles are created equal, even properly formatted monitor profiles may not accurately express the monitor's capabilities, and not all color management in applications is done properly.  You're not the first to report problems with a canned Dell monitor profile.

  • Trial version affecting full version install??

    Hi guys.
I installed the trial version of Photoshop Cs4 extended then i bought the standard verion of Cs4 and uninstalled the extended trial.
Now when i try to install Cs4 it asks for a serial code on startup and the header bar says Cs4 extended. it also says extended in the startup box(with the creators names in)
I have tried the Cs4 clean up script as well as revo uninstaller to try and get rid of the trial completely but when i install the full version it still says extended.
Just wondering of there was anything else i can try? or whether this problem should be occurring at all?
    Thanks
    John

The trial version is the same as the purchased version.

  • Trial and full version

I have had the trial for 2 days and really like it. I would rather buy the retail version so I can have the manual and the DVD (or CD) rather than just paying for the serial number online.
Once I have the software should I uninstall the trial version and then load the retail full version from the DVD (CD)...or just take the serial number off the retail version I will buy tomorrow at the apple store and authorize the trial version. I don't have anything on the program yet that cannot be deleted. I just took some random pics to test it.
I guess my question is: would the retail version be a cleaner install.
    Thanks

Retail version and Trial are binary identical at a given version level, so there is no point reinstalling. You may want to download the latest update (2.1.3 combo update) from the download site if the trial version is older, after entering your serial number. I tend to prefer the download approach although I've only had one hiccup that may have been due to swupdate.
