my friend has installed photoshop cs5 ,64bit windows 7
he liked photoshop cc for the new features , it upgrade and installed
when he finished to activate photoshop cc 64bit ,he uninstalled cs5
and uninstalling cs5 deactivate cc
in short he had to re-activate cc
why?

I just followed the font cache tech thread and dumped the Photoshop CC cache; restarted, and sadly, this did not work.
Problem still exists. Any other ideas?

The uninstaller for photoshop CS5 did not remove CS5.1
I ran the uninstaller for CS5 successfully and it's gone. But I still have 5.1 on my system and now the uninstaller is gone. How to do remove that along with deactivating it?
You should have deactivated PS before uninstalling it. To make sure it's all removed, use the cleanup scripts:

Why this error please help meThis error is generally caused by a incompatible/incomplete/corrupt font. When you select the type tool, Photoshop reads all of your available fonts to generate a WYSIWYG list. To test if a bad font is the cause of this error, go to Preferences > Type and disable the Font Preview. If the Type tool now works without error, then we know a font is the root issue.
If on Windows, uninstall (drag font files out of the Fonts folder) and reinstall (drag font files into the Fonts folder) your most recent fonts. The files will be verified on reinstall and most likely one or more will give an error. If on Mac, validate your fonts with Fontbook. -
I'm using CS5 Indesign Mac it keeps crashing when Saving As. Uninstalled and the Reinstalled program and it still crashes. Takes over 60 seconds to unfreeze. I'm using Lion 10.7.5. Any ideas?

Should I uninstall Photoshop CS5.5.1 before installing Photoshop CS6? If so, how do I do it?
You can remove the software by going to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers. You will find the uninstallers located there.

my hard drive crashed on my MacBook Pro crashed and I need to get my CS5 up and running on the new hard drive. I copied what I could onto an external hard drive but when I drag and drop I get directions to uninstall but the uninstall folder I have does says it is an alias that is no longer present. I get error 6. I would like to get my software up and running on the laptop again please
If you subscribed to iTunes match the songs are kept in icloud. If you didn't but you did save the actual iTunes library folder which should include the music, video, etc. you should be able to just drag this file back to your machine in the same place and when you open iTunes it will give you a chance to identify the iTunes library folder.
You can test this to find out if you saved the media files or not and don't need to attach your nano to do it.
You are correct that once you connect the nano it will clear the existing files from it and sync it with the new iTunes library.
If you don't have the media files i'm not sure if/how to get them back on a windows ipod. I have everything backed up regularly because of the horror stories I have seen & heard. -
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premier 10 loaded on a Dell PC. Do I need to uninstall from the Dell before I install on a recently purchased Apple Mac Pro? There are separate disks for Mac and PC in the package.
Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

I'm using firefox 3.6.11, and windows xp. I've manually searched the uninstall prompts in the firefox folder, but they do not work.
I need to uninstall firefox as it uses more of my memory, especially with the new plug-in bin container, and my little netbook just can't handle it. (Hence why I tried installing the portable version, but whenever I try to use it the main firefox starts up as well - even though I have uninstalled it).

Photoshop CS5.1 Crashes Upon Opening: "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver-"
Every time I try to open photoshop I get a window that pops up and says:
"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software.
GPU enhancements can be enable in the Performance panel of Preferences."
Then windows shuts the program down. The details of the problem are:

The error happens so quickly that I don't have time to do anything. Please help. >.< I've been on hold for *checks phone* 2 hours exactly. Wow. It is a legit copy and was working last month with no trouble. I've updated the drivers and tried a few solutions that have worked for other people that I found on Google (such as disabling CUDA and setting my "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance" on my video card) but so far nothing has worked.
Thanks in advance!It has stopped crashing because somehow it turned off "Enable GL Drawing" on its own because I could never even get a menu open. Not sure how it did that but I am grateful. I still get the error when I open Photoshop up but at least it hasn't crashed yet. I'm trying to run the CS5.5 uninstaller, but I am getting an error message.
I ran the cleaner tool, but still get the uninstaller error. I'm making the upgrade to CS6, and running this on a MacBook Pro, OSX.9.3. I can trash the apps, but I'd love to be sure that I've really uninstalled things.
The installer app simply says, "Your uninstallation encountered errors." I am advised to restart the computer, and to run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.
I've done both of those things. I can't get to the OPTIONS section of the uninstaller. -

Photoshop CS5 can be run as a 64-bit application on Mac OS, 10.5.7 and higher. Because of the changes that were made to the application, some plug-ins are not available when you run Photoshop CS5 either as a 32-bit or a 64-bit application. To work with these plug-ins, run Photoshop CS5 as a 32-bit application, then when you are done using these plug-ins, return to working in Photoshop CS5 as a 64-bit application.
If you copy old plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop, or third-party plug-ins that are not compatible with Photoshop CS5, into Photoshop CS5's Plug-in folder, you may see different problems, such as errors or crashes.
If you have set the Additional Plug-Ins Folder in the Plug-Ins preferences to a folder, deselect this option, or make sure all the plug-ins in this folder are compatible with Photoshop CS5.
The easiest way to determine if third-party, old plug-ins, or plug-ins from previous versions of Photoshop are causing problems is to move them all into a new folder called "3rd Party plug-ins."
If this folder is outside the Photoshop/Plug-Ins folder, you can use the Additional Plug-Ins Folder Plug-In preference to allow Photoshop to access or not access the plug-ins in this folder.
If this folder is inside the Photoshop/Plug-Ins folder, disable the plug-ins by renaming the folder by putting a tilde (~) as the first character in the folder name.

To run Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS as a 32-bit application, select the Adobe Photoshop CS5 application file, installed by default in the Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder. Choose File > Get Info, and select Open in 32 Bit Mode. Deselect this option to run Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit mode.
To determine if a plug-in causes an error or crash, remove all old or third-party plug-ins from the Adobe Photoshop CS5 > Plug-Ins folder, and deselect Additional Plug-ins Folder in the Photoshop > Preferences > Plug-Ins preference. -

Can I still download the free trial of photoshop cs5?
I have a computer with Windows Vista Business and I would like to install the free trial of photoshop CC but that doesn't work because it's Vista.
