Uninstalled Gadget Clock, How do I get it back?

I mistakenly uninstalled the default gadget clock that comes with Windows 7. It no longer shows up in the Gadget program. It appears to still be on my computer in the Windows Sidebar folder in Program Files. How do I restore it... THANKS

Kusaywa,
I was going to suggest just re-downloading it from the gadgets website, but as I looked, didn't seem to find the original Clock gadget.
That being said, I worked out a very simple work-around. Basically, go to the Program Files/Windows Sidebar/Gadgets/Clock.Gadget directory. Now select all the files in that directory (Ctrl+A), right-click, Send To>Compressed (zipped) Folder. A message box will tell you it cannot create the Compressed Folder here, and asks you if you would like to place it on the desktop instead, Select "yes". Now go to the desktop, it has probably made a file called "drag.zip", rename the entire name (including file extension) to "Clock.gadget", it will ask you if you are sure you wish to change the entire name, and you answer "yes".
Now you have basically recompiled the original installer, just double-click on your newly-created "Clock.gadget" file, and it will ask you if you wish to install. A few clicks later and you are back in business.
I know it kind of looks complex, but it is very, very easy. I hope I have been of assistance to you.

  • I accidentally uninstalled quicktime. How do i get it back?

The other day I completly removed QuickTime from my computer by mistake.  I went to the apple website to try and download it but there is no link for a .dmg.  Instead there is a message that says "Use Software Update to keep QuickTime up to date on your Mac".  Does anyone know how I can get QuickTime back?

If you have a package unpacker such as Pacifist, and you kept your Lion install download package, you can open this in Pacifist and explore your way to the quicktime installer package. I did this recently as QTX was giving me stuttering problems in playing back mpegs. Reinstalling didn't solve that problem, but at least I now know how to get it back!

As long as you use a recent version of Pacifist it works fine.

  • Google Chrome killed Firefox. I uninstalled Chrome. How can I get Firefox back. Reinstalling doesn't do it.

I was using Firefox as my primary browser. After I installed Google Chrome, I could no longer open Firefox. It would appear to open, but immediately disappear. I reinstalled Firefox, but it did not solve the problem. I like Firefox; so I uninstalled Chrome. Now I cannot use either Chrome or Firefox. I simply get a blank window when I try to activate firefox. I have had to revert to IE in order to browse; however, I prefer Firefox. How do I resolve this problem?

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Can't think of anything else to add, just want to download Firefox. The older nor newer versions will not load, I click where it says if downloading does not start, just stays at 0%.

  • Smart Menu: I accidentally uninstalled this. How do I get it back?

I was uninstalling some malware which had piggy backed its way into my computer.  I believe this is what gave me a gear shaped symbol in my lower left hand corner providing easy access to my documents, systems, etc.  I would like it back.  I located what I thought was the program on the internet and twice tried to reinstall it, but no luck.

Most programs and drivers can be reinstalled using HP Recovery Manager in your Start menu.

  • I uninstalled safari accidently, how do I get it back?

I've looked in the downloads section, and all I could find was the Safari 3 Beta which won't install.

If you still have your installer disk you can extract it from the disk using Pacifist: http://www.charlessoft.com/
Or you can try this: http://www.macworld.com/forums/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Number=317594&p age=&vc=1

    Hi edhones,
Please update Acrobat to v11.0.09 and check.
You might want to repair Acrobat from the 'Help' menu and check if it installs the pdf printer back or not.

i had photoshop elements on my laptop but had to uninstall it how do i get it back for free?

You use your original install media. If you have PSE 11 you can download the trial and enter your serial number into that. For recent older versions, if you bought a download from adobe, if you go to the main page of adobe.com and click on My Adobe, you may still have a download link there. If your laptop came with PSE pre-installed, check your recovery partition to see if there's an installer there.
