Uninstalled new verison of Quicktime but still can't install itunes???
I tried to install the new Itunes but it says I have the new verison of Quicktime. I uninstalled Quicktime then tried to install Intunes + Quicktime but is still telling me I have new Quicktime? What now??? Now I have no itunes.

With that one, let's first try this procedure.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:

Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
Next, we'll manually remove leftover QuickTime program files:
(1) Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
(2) Open the Program Files folder.
(3) Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
(4) Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
(5) Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
(6) Restart your computer.
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly without the QuickTime messages this time?

When I go to open up the new version of firefox it tell me that Mac OS X can't be open. I have the 2 icon on my desktop. How do I remove the old one to open up the new Icon version of the firefox
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Is it usual to take some time? I wouldnt think so. But who knows. If I click activate in the application, the software asks for a serial which i didn't get.

IPod nano needs iTunes 7, but I can't install iTunes 7
Hello there.
I got my first Mac on Thursday, and I love it.. so far. It's an old iMac DV Special Edition. It's running OS X 10.2.8, and it has 128MB RAM. Now, I went to plug my iPod nano 2G into it, and it said that I needed iTunes 7. Well, when I googled iTunes 7 requirements, too see if I could run it, it said that it needs 10.4. Now, is there any way I could get my iPod to show up on my iMac and be able to manage my music, photos, etc? Or will I have to do it on my PC. I would rather do it on my iMac, but if it's not possible without upgrading my iMac, I understand.

I bought my daughter a new pink nano for christmas but now not only her but 3 of my other children can's listen to there ipods. When we plugged the new one in it said we needed to update to the 8, but when we try it says its not a vaild win32 application, so i went to the support section, it told me to uninstall the previous version of Itunes and Quicktime, which i did, i then reinstalled the Quicktime like it stated, it works fine, but still can't download Itunes, i even tried to download a previous version of the Itunes, it tells me the same thing. Can someone please help me resolve this!;) Now i not only have 1 unhappy child but 4.

Internet Explorer should be THE browser that most internet pages are built to work with. So if you're not using that one - try it. -
Can't install itunes 10.4 on Windows 7 home premium
I am not highly technical, so please bear with me:
After repeatedly being unable to update itunes 10.2, I thought I should just uninstall it and install itunes 10.4. Wow, what a mistake. After many hours I now can't run my MS Office programs AND I can't load or run itunes.
Originally, while trying to update itunes, I kept getting the message "errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose tools > download only and try installing manually." This confused me as I could not find "tools."
After some reading online, I decided what I should do is download the Windows Installer clean up tool. Apparently this was the BIG mistake. I selected Apple items to remove with msicuu.exe, only to find that now my MS Office 2010 programs no longer run ("Microsoft Office not installed for this user"), and I still can't install itunes.
I tried installing itunes 10.2 and got a message that I must install a 32-bit version of itunes.
I used the cleanup tool once again and tried to install itunes 10.4, and got the message: could not open key: UNKNOWN\components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8\6A262021B4A79884EA585F5E86D 86338. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.
Now when I try to run MS Office software, getting message "Preparing to install", then, Configuring Microsoft Office Professional Plus, then something about the program not being installed for this user (I'm the only user).
I realize that this board probably can't help me with MS Office software, but can you help me with itunes?SOA Suite works perfectly on my windows7 pc.

can you set up a new I Tunes account, but still use the same email address, as having problems with it keep telling me it has been disabled, no matter what I do to change the passwords, I haven't used the account since 2010?

You should have no need to use the Old Sync account.
As long as device or devices are Firefox 29 or later (They should all be Firefox 30 now) you should use the New Sync.
You may use the same email address with both accounts. -
My add-ons still appear to be installed and working, but I can't install more, or uninstall, or configure them.
Try forcing Firefox to rebuild the list of installed add-ons.
# Open the profile folder, for details of how to access it see the [[profiles]] article.
# Close Firefox, then delete extensions.sqlite (you can also delete extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.rdf if they exist)
When you restart Firefox the list of installed add-ons should be rebuilt.
If that did not work, you may have an add-on that is causing the problem, try the options in the [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article.
If you type '''about:addons''' into the location bar does that bring up the list of add-ons? I have seen a blank add-ons list if Mr Tech Toolkit add-on is installed, accessing the add-ons manager by typing about:addons in the location bar is a workaround with that add-on installed. The author of that add-on is working on an update. -
Can't Install iTunes, get message Can't uninstall previous ver of QuickTime
I'm the machine administrator, downloaded new iTunes for my new iPod Classic. iTunes installer attempts to uninstall old version of QuickTime but I get an error message that Can't Uninstall Old Version, Contact Support. Tried to uninstall from Control Panel, not! Windows XP Pro. Help!

You need to click on all the links to expand them and get more info. THey show up blue on my screen.
My advice is to do those steps in order. The Microsoft tool directions are in the 3rd link named "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer". -
Updated to latest ACR 6.6 but still can't open CR2 files from Canon Rebel XSi
I updated to latest version of Adobe Camera Raw 6.6 but still can't seem to open my CR2 files in Photoshop. Can't open them in Lightroom either, no preview in Bridge or OS.
I'm running OS 10.7.2 and Photshop 12.1 x 64 which is CS5.1 I suppose.
I've downloaded Canon's EOS utility hoping that would somehow do something as well but nothing.
The images were shot on Canon Rebel XSi which is certainly supported by the newest version of ACR. So I have no clue as to what's happening... I previously downloaded these images onto my old laptop about a year ago and everything was fine, however now I'm not even getting a preview in OS. Do I have to revert to an older version of ACR (perhaps the same one I used originally?) to open these files again? These files have been stored on a hard drive, so I'm not downloading them directly from the camera-again, this probably has nothing to do with it but not sure what to do. A lot of the posts I've seen recommend downloading the latest version of ACR to fix the issue, but again I've done that and as a matter of fact the camera (Rebel XSi) has been supported for some time now...

ArthurSomething appears to be wrong with your files.
Are most of your images approx. 3.7 MB?
This is very small for a 12 MP image.
If you go back to the original file on your laptop, what is the file size?
Also the fact that the Mac OS is not showing the preview is unusual.
Perhaps these files got corrupted when they were moved to your new computer.
Can you open these files OK on your old laptop?
Is the OS showing the previews on your old laptop?
Also compare the file sizes between old and new computer.
Have you tried repairing your permissions?
Try Disk Utility in your Macs Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility to see if this helps.

I've tried everything but still can not! get rid of Babylon. Has anyone found a long term or permanent solution? I've tired uninstalling and reinstalling FF, done the about:config which also hasn't worked. I've deleted everything to go with this stupid search engine but still it reappears. It's just ridiculous. I just got my daughter a new macbook pro. She currently shares my wifes apple id for iTunes on her iTouch. I need to set up an email account for her. Is there any way to set up a new iCloud email account but still use my wifes apple id for iTunes?
No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.
