Uninstalling Acrobat 7.0 and installing Acrobat XI

I just purchased Acrobat XI, and it came in the mail last night. I'm trying to install it, but I'm running into a problem - every time I try to install it, it needs me to uninstall Acrobat 7.0. I go through the steps for that, everything seems to have gone fine, and then it asks me to restart my computer. When I restart, everything goes well until I type in my password to log into my account. At that point, the screen goes black, and it never logs me in. The only way to resolve it is to boot in Safe Mode and restore my system to an earlier point. This only happens when I try to install XI and/or uninstall 7.0. I need XI for work, so I really need to get this figured out as soon as possible.
I am running on Windows 7.

Will it crash the system or will there just be glitches or inconsistencies in the performance of W8? I’m willing to live with the latter, but definitely not the former.

Please have a look at the two attachments (there seems to be a problem with uploading jpg files).
Obviously Bitdefender manipulates the certificate (probably to be able to scan the mails via SSL connection). But I'm not sure.
Would you recommend to confirm an exception for this certificate (permanently)?

I found out that after disabling SSL Scanning in Bitdefender, this issue no longer exists.
Maybe this can be considered as confirmation that this certificate really belongs to Bitdefender. Because that's actually what I'm concerned about, i.e. how to validate this certificate to make sure that Bitdefender is the issuer.

Yes installing only the Illustrator trial would use the trial for Illustrator. If you have installed the Master Collection though then your trial of Master Collection has already begun. I would recommend using the remainder of your Master Collection trial for the moment.

With Windows Vista, the most recent Itunes update 1/30/2014 has caused Itunes not to work, with a Mscvr80.dll not found error. Uninstalled all Apple programs, and installed fresh Itunes. Same problem. Tried to reinstall using an older install exe nogo

Recent ITunes update has caused ITunes not to work. Tried uninstalling all Apple products and reinstalling fresh. Still doesn't work. Tried reinstalling from an old install.exe. Install went nicely but program won't start as it says it can't open the library file.

Now that I have no way of accessing any of the products I have purchased from ITunes, I will most certainly never use ITunes again for any reason. Why throw good money after bad? I will use another MP3 player that is not as cumbersome or proprietary.
Lesson learned.

I am running Win 7 and about to purchased a new computer with Win 8.1.
The USGA wrote a Tournament Program which is used nationwide called TPP (Tournament Pairing Program). It was developed prior to XP but it is updated every time you run the update. It runs on XP without any adjustments. To load the program
on Win 7 or Win 8 you are instructed to remove Microsoft SQL Server 2005, which I did. The program loads SQL 2000 when it is installed. I am concerned when I uninstall the TPP program that it will also uninstall SQL 2000 (which it installed) and
then there will be no SQL server on my Win 7.
I was going to make sure that I could install the TPP program on Win 8 (before buying another computer) by installing it on a friends new Win 8.1 computer. But I am concerned about removing the preinstalled SQL Server program.
1) How does one get the original Microsoft SQL Server back once it has been removed and the recycle bin has been emptied? Does the SQL program even get sent to the recycle bin when it is removed?
2) Is there any harm done by removing the original SQL program be it 2005 or a new one?

whenever you uninstall SQL Server, databases files are not deleted. So you can move them to safe location. if they are delete by you then you have very less chances to recover the data.

Can I uninstall a cloud program and install it on a different computer?

I installed Prelude on a work computer mainly because I had never heard of it and didn't know what it was, so I wanted to see... now that I know it is video related, I actually need to move it over to our work computer that is dedicated only to video work. I know that you can install the cloud programs on up to 2 computers, but I also do quite of bit of work for the office on my home computer, so I don't want to have my second copy of Prelude hanging around on a computer where I will never use it. I'd like one copy to be on the computer I use at home for work and one copy to be on the video computer at work.
Is it possible to uninstall it from one computer and install it on a different computer?

Want to uninstall Reader 8.17 and install 9.2

I currently have Reader 8.1.7. I want to install 9.2. It is my understanding that I must uninstall the old version before installing the new version. However, in my add/remove programs I have 2 Adobe Readers--Adobe Reader 8.1.7 that can be deleted. Adobe Reader 8.1.7 CPSID 50029 that says it cannot be deleted. How do I procede and if I am able to update, do I install 9.1 and apply patches or just download 9.2.

There is no real requirement to uninstall 8.x before installing 9.x; the upgrade should automatically uninstall the previous version. (Not recommended if the previous version is very old, say 6.x).
You don't need 9.1 and upgrade to 9.2; you can directly download the full 9.2 installer.

Just go ahead and install DIAdem on the new PC, using the CD you should have received with your DIAdem purchase. You can use the same license file on the new PC. Once DIAdem is installed, verify that it works properly and uninstall it from the old PC. You don't have to worry about DIAdem being installed on two PCs at the same time, as long as you only use it on one PC at a time ...

Uninstalling Quicktime 7.5 and installing 7.4

I bought a MXO and an addition Apple monitor to color correct in FCP Color. I found out that I cannot calibrate my new monitor with MXO with Quicktime 7.5. They say that if I install 7.4 it will work, then reinstall 7.5. When I uninstall 7.5 and try to install 7.4 it will not let me. It says I already have a higher version installed.
Does anyone know how I can do this?

They really should not put these updates up until they have really tested them..
They have tested them. It is up to you not to update unless you verify that it will work with any third party hardware that you have...such as the MXO. Matrox told you that it wasn't compatible with QT7.5...something you could have found out before you updated.
When using professional software, one must be very careful when it comes to updating.

After auto update from 3.6.3 to 3.6.13, "proxy server refuses connection". I have to uninstall 3.6.13 and install 3.6.3 in order for it to work again.

I have been very satisfied with Mozilla Firefox until recently. I have Firefox 3.6.3. Every time a box appears with "installing updates" it installs updates then the screen goes to "problem loading page" and "the proxy server is refusing connections". The only way I can get internet access is to go to "control panel" then "add or remove programs" then I have to "uninstall mozilla firefox 3.6.13. Then I click on my "Firefox Setup 3.6.3, and I install that version. Once I do that, everything works fine again. It is such a headache because I can't prevent the "installing updates" from happening and once it happens, it does not work, as described above.

Problems uninstalling iPhoto 9.5 and installing 9.4.3

The problem is that I don't want 9.5 due to the removal of the ability to share photos between different computers. Would like to install 9.4.3 on an Air running Mavericks.
1) I downloaded 9.4.3 and try to install it but am informed that a newer version is already installed (duh).
2) I delete 9.5 by dragging icon from applications folder to trash. Try installing 9.4.3. Am informed that this is an update and I need 9.1. at least
3) I download 9.1 and this fails to install too, telling me that it is an update of an earlier version as well
So what do I do?!? I just want 9.4.3 so I can share photos between our existing Pro (not upgraded to mavericks yet and not planning to, really), and this brand new Air.

Here's the deal: see, this is a brand new Air and it has no photos on it. I have no need to downgrade the library since there are zero photos here. I just want to do two things:
1) Uninstall 9.5 (drag it from the app folder to the trash, got it)
2) Reinstall 9.4.3 <- this is what I can't do, as stated in more detail above.
I simply can't get through the install of 9.4.3 (or any earlier version) since each version is considered an upgrade.
Checking out the fatcat software link you attached above doesn't really apply to me, I think, since it seems to be geared to people with actual photo libraries, instead of a brand new machine. Also, this line is really confusing to me: "You will want to be running iPhoto Library Manager on the machine that has the older version of iPhoto you want to convert the library to."
See, my issue is that I can't install the older version of iPhoto!

HI. I recently purchased the final cut studio upgrade package, but when I tried to install it, it would not allow me to because my version is academic (i was a student and am no longer one). Cut to:
NOW- I bought an older version of final cut but when I install it, it keeps using my old academic key info, even though I deleted academic from my computer. I deleted it completely (so I thought)... I got an uninstall software and did it that way.

My Firefox will not pull up, even after I uninstalled the old version and installed the new version. What is wrong with it? It only had this problem recently.

I am having problems getting Firfox to open. I have unistalled the 14. version and then installed the 15. version hoping that it would fix the problem. It didn't. I have even tried restarting the computer, which also did not solve the problem. I know it is not the computer, because all other applications open properly, except this one. I would like to know what is going on and the problem to be fixed please.
