Uninstalling Acrobat Trial on MacBook

I am trying to install a paid version of Professional X but cannot complete the installation due to another version being on my computer.  I installed and trial 76 days ago and it has long expired, but I cannot seem to uninstall so that I can download the paid version.

Hi Rita,
We dont recommend to have two different versions of Acrobat installed on same machine. You need to uninstall Trial version from your computer and then install Acrobat X.
What is the problem you are facing while uninstalling Acrobat from your machine?
Try steps mentioned in this link, manually uninstalling Acrobat from Mac: Installing, uninstalling Acrobat X | Mac OS

  • I downgraded from CC to CS6, and Acrobat XI is now in trial mode. How can I use the Acrobat X that comes with the CS6 Master Collection disc? Should I uninstall Acrobat XI then install Acrobat X? What about de-/reactivation?

I've read about deactivating/reactivating with Photoshop. If applicable, how is that done?

deactivating is done by opening a programs > click help > click deactivate.
that's not applicable to cc apps.

  • Issues after purchasing CC Photographer, Adobe Acrobat Trial cannot uninstall

CC Photography version, downloaded CC Desktop to Windows 7 64Bit with Lightroom 4 already installed.  Downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro Trial.  All programs worked in Trial version.  After i signed for membership the following isn't working: most critical - Acrobat is not compatible with Outlook 2003.  Cannot use Word or Excel, had to fix Chrome Shockwave problem in Chrome Admin Editor.  I CANNOT UNINSTALL ACROBAT however i have tried.  Secondarily, I PSCC opens, but I cannot open any menu items, same in Lightroom. I have 4MG Ram and external HD. Need to uninstall Acrobat immediately.  Thanks!

Thanks Jeff - Thought that is where i put it..  Getting further on my on.. at least i have PSCC working correctly now.

  • Uninstalling acrobat x pro = trial version

Sorry if I am in the wrong place but the search wouldn't take me anywhere!!! :-(
I need to uninstall a trial verson of Acrobat X Pro but it gets all the way to the uninstall but says that it can't continue b/c the Program Manager is open. I tried to click ignore but nothing happens.
Please help me get this off my machine.
    Heidi

First I would reboot the PC into safe mode (press F8) while booting the computer.  Try uninstalling that way.  If that doesn't work, search Google for "revo uninstaller"  it's a nice piece of software that will literally uninstall anything you can think of.

  • How do I uninstall Acrobat Pro XI after the trial period has elapsed?

Buying is not an option for the moment (company processes to follow first - could take weeks!!) and the "readme" files give instructions that cannot be followed because there is no menu available now that the trial period has expired. Right now, I cannot open pdf files at all, even though I still have the free Acrobat Reader software installed.
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
It seems to me that Adobe Reader is not set as the default to handle pdf's but Acrobat is, and hence after the trial expired you are not able to view the pdf's.
Please follow the steps below to change the default program for viewing pdf's
    Launch Acrobat / Reader.
Click on the 'Edit' button in the toolbar, and then select 'Preferences'
A new window would come up. On the left column, higlight the 'General' Tab and on the right hand side at the bottom there's a button called 'Select Default PDF Handler'
Click the button and select 'Adobe Reader' as the default for PDF's.Click on 'Ok' now to save the changes.
Alternatively, you can simply right click on any pdf file and then select 'Open With..' > 'Choose Default Program' and select 'Adobe Reader' from the list of programs.
Make sure the option at the bottom is checked that says ' Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
Click on 'Ok' now to save the changes.
To uninstall Acrobat you can simply uninstall it from the Control Panel > Programs or use the Acrobat cleaner tool : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Unfortunately no, It says "Adobe not responding" as well when I try to open a pdf. It has done this a few times where I had to uninstall and reinstall. Also, Illustrator tells me to uninstall/reinstall as well.

  • Problems after uninstalling Acrobat 10

I recently installed and then uninstalled a trial version of  Acrobat 10.  Now when I try to make a pdf in Acrobat 9, I get an error message that the distiller cannot find a file in an Acrobat 10 folder (which has been deleted).  How can I get the distiller in 9 to work again.  I already tried uninstalling and re-installing it, as well as running it in repair mode.  Nothing seems to work.

Sorry to hear about the trouble.  We've heard some reports of similar issues with files not opening after the 11.0.01/10.1.5/9.5.3 updates were installed.  I would suggest uninstalling Acrobat, the reinstalling and patching up to 10.1.4 again as an immediate solution.
To help us figure out what may be going with your particular files, could you open one in Acrobat and choose File > Properties.  I'd like to know what it says next to the PDFProducer and Application lines.

  • Problem uninstalling Acrobat 9

I had a long expired trial version of Acrobat 9 on my computer. I may have inadvertently deleted the installer recently, and have run into propblems. Every time I try to open any file on my computer, Windows Installer wants to run the installer, but it can't find it, because a file called Acropro.msi is not available. I tried to uninstall Acrobat 9, but I got a message saying that it cannot be removed. When I realized the problem was likely due to having deleted the installer, I thought that, if I installed a trial version of Acrobat 10, it would include uninstallation of the old program. That didn't work either, because Windows installer again is looking for AcroPro.msi to complete the task.
So, I now have a downloaded trial version of Acrobat 10 that won't install, and an old trial version of Acrobat 9 that won't uninstall, as well as a very annoying dialogue box that opens every time I try to open a file.
    Help. please!

That probably won't go away without heavy surgery on the Windows registry. You'd have to manually delete acouple of keys like the relevant Adobe keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and other such places as well as the file type handlers in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT branch. Other than that the simple solution would be to reinstall Acrobat 9, then uninstall it...

  • Regretfully, I uninstalled Acrobat on cloud

  • Can't Uninstall Acrobat 9

The Acrobat PDF Maker Add-in for Office got disabled and I can't seem to re-enable it. I've tried the suggestions in http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401734&sliceId=2 except for uninstalling Acrobat. I can't uninstall it because when I go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs Acrobat isn't listed there. When I run the Acrobat installer it doesn't give me an option to uninstall, and I can't find an uninstaller.
Any ideas on how to remove Acrobat?
    Windows XP SP3
    Office 2007
    Acrobat Pro 9.4.4

    Thanks for the link!
I took a look and read the following:
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
So, to make sure I undersand the process:
--- I use this windows utility to remove the installation files form my PC
--- What next?   Will I need to reinstall the Acrobat Pro Trial edition just to immediately run the uninstall?
Even if this is the correct process, I'm not sure this will work because the trial version is limited to a 30 day period that already expired on my computer.  So I doubt I would be able to reinstall it.  I suspect I would get an error saying that I now have to purchase the official version.
Thanks again for your help with this.

  • Should I uninstall downloaded trial version first?

I have Photoshop CS installed on a G5, and purchased boxed versions of Photoshop CS4 Upgrade and Lightroom 2 Full for a new MacBook Pro.  Prior to the boxed versions arriving, I downloaded trial versions of both on the MacBook Pro.
When the boxed versions arrive, is there any reason to unstall both trial versions first rather than just entering the serial numbers on the trial versions downloaded?  Are there any extra things that will install during a typical install from the boxed versions that were not downloaded for the trial version installation?
    Thanks,
    John

    Thanks for both answers.
I did call Customer Service, and the rep said I could do either, and could not elaborate on any advantages either way, so I had the impression she was not knowledgable in this.
I think I read somewhere on the site that the trial version could be converted to a full version by entering the serial number, which led to my question.
Anyway, I will follow both your suggestions and completely uninstall the trial versions when I receive the media.
    Thanks again,
    John

Please refer to the following link to select the desired flavor and you can license it by typing in your serial number.

  • Uninstalling Acrobat XI

I treid the trial of Acrobat XI and liked it but I'm holding off purchasing it until I upgrade from XP.  So for now, I need to install my previous version of Acrobat.
However, I can't uninstall XI.  I keep getting a error message--"Error 1338.  There was an error creating a temporary file that is need to complete this installation.  Folder:  D:\Config.Msi\.  System error code 112."
I tried Remove & change from the control Panel and Adobe's uninstall.  Same error message.
When I try to reinstall my previous version, it recognizes a newer version on my computer and stops installing.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Keith G.Nichols,
As suggested by Rave correctly, you may also uninstall Acrobat XI by following the steps mentioned below:
Step1: Click on Acrobat XI icon and click on Help then Deactivate.
Step2: Use the Add Or Remove Programs control panel (XP) or the Programs And Features control panel (Windows 7).
Step3: Click on Acrobat XI remove program.
Let us know if that helps,
    Regards,

  • Adobe Acrobat trial version installation suggeded somehow, but I cannot save a file I have changed from Word to PDF.

The installation of Acrobat trial version for 30 days seemed to succeed but after making a pdf file I could not save it into my own libraries on my computer. In the first case the system told that the trial time is over! How come? I had just installed it. Then I tried again, but now the system is requiring a "serial number". Then it said that I can find it there and there. I tried to log in there but it did not accept my password which I had just used. Ok. I changed the password and it was accepted by Adobe. But I never got any serial number anywhere. Then I tried to install Acrobat through another way. I have had Adobe Cloud and Premiere already for years. I tried to load Acrobat through there. I succeeded, but same problem again: "The trial time is 00 days". Then I also noticed that my old Adobe Reader has vanished somewhere. I could not open any pdf files I have received and opened before. I tried to re-install the Reader. No success because "the trial time is over" !!! What should I do? Maybe I can try to ask my friends to change the Word files into the pdf-versions but I need my Adobe Reader!

    Hi, Ashish,
I do not understnd what means “through CC package under exception folder”. I
think I went to Google and found this page:
    https://www.acrobat.com/en_us/free-trial-download.html . After the
installing, which seemed to be successful, I brought in a Word file and made
the exchange into pdf. It seemed to be ok, but I could not save it anywhere
into my own libraries or maps. The system told me that the trial time is
over (!). Then I went into my Abobe Creative Cloud because I have already
Premier Pro and Premeir Pro CC. Through the list overt there I tried to do
the installation again. I do not remember anymore what I got in the first
place, maybe it was the same “Your trial time has 00 days” or something like
that. Then I was asked to get the “serial number” I clicked the “button” but
the reply was the same “Your trial time has 00 days”, or maybe there was
some other demands before that. Impossible to remember anymore.
Then I also noticed that I don’t have Adobe Reader anymore; I could not read
any pdf files I had before. Everytime jumps up the message “Your trial time
    has 00 days”.
    regards
    Erkki

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
