Uninstalling and reinstalling correctly Acrobat

I messed up and trashed my Acrobat. Problem is, APP MGR 'believes' I am "UP TO DATE" so I cannot ask to INSTALL program. (It was trashed because I ran out of space on my laptop recently, but I simply dragged into the trash all folders including the uninstaller.
So, the APP MGR will not let me reinstall as it believes I already have the program.
WHat to do please?
I now understand how to do this in the future....
Thanks,
Stan S

Stan you are correct dragging the applications to the trash can is what caused your current difficulties.  Running the cleaner tool as suggested by Mylenium should allow you to resolve your current difficulties.
Please make sure to utilize the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers in the future.

I have uninstalled and reinstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on my new machine. My new machine runs Mac OS X 10.9.5. Every time I try to click on Help > Registration it returns an error message 'Registration Unsuccessful" "A problem was encountered while trying to send information over the Internet".  I have no issue with Internet connection. Just wondering why this is happening and is there any way we can register this application.

    Hi Ksb2009,
This version of Acrobat was never tested on this version of Mac and is unsupported.
I would suggest you may upgrade to latest version of Acrobat and that will work fine. It has loads of new and enhanced features than Acrobat 8.

  • Need to uninstall and reinstall ITunes

I had to reinstall Windows XP. Now I'm having to uninstall and reinstall other programs on my computer. ITunes, it appears to be one of them. I thought I uninstalled and reinstalled correctly but apparently haven't because I still get an error message telling me that CD Covers won't be grabbed correctly. I don't want to lose all my songs also, I guess I won't as long as they are on my IPOD. I'm very new to my IPod and my ITunes so please forgive what I am sure is a very silly question.

When you uninstall iTunes, uninstall Quicktime as well, turn off or disable any antivirus/security software then download/reinstall see if that helps. Uninstalling iTunes will not delet any songs or settings you have in iTunes

I had this problem as well but found the soultion on another post from turingtest2 - it worked for me:
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selectingRun as Administrator.

  • Acrobat 9.5.5 must uninstall and reinstall.  if I uninstall will I have to buy a new product?

Chat support has sent me to the forums for help.
My Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5 suddenly will not open.
The error is that I must uninstall and reinstall.
I have run a repair, and restarted the computer, but the problem persists.
My question: if I do uninstall my Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5, will I be able to
reinstall it?  or will I need spend another $299 to buy a new product?

If you run out of activations because of a failure, you can talk to support to explain and have them increase the number of activations. You will still need the install file (I hope you backed it up) and the SN (and SN for qualifying product if an upgrade). After the install, you will still have to do the updates.

As a debugging step, try printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If that fails, repeat with print-to-file selected. Assuming the print succeeds, open the file in Distiller to complete the creation of the PDF. If you get the PDF, then check to see if AcroTray is properly working as a background task.

  • Frequently asked to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat 9 Pro

This is becoming an aggravating issue with me.  I don't mind uninstalling and reinstalling, but to go through all the updates is time consuming.  I have yet to find anything from Adobe that addresses this.  Perhaps I missed something/  Thank you in advance for any help.

Thank you for the quick response, Bill@VT.
I open Acrobat 9 Pro and an error screen appears on top of the gray portion of Acrobat workspace  that says to the effect that " the program will no longer start.  You must uninstall and reinstall the program". I did not capture the error message, but it had no number."  What I was doing right before that was trying to load a .pdf to Acrobat.
I am running Win XP Pro sp3.  This has been an on-going problem for the past year, maybe a little more.   It has happened several times since January of this year.  It does not correspond with any new programs I have installed, unless some auto update from HP or Windows Update is triggering it.  Basically, nothing has changed on this system since I first installed the program in 2008, other than hard drive upgrades and program updates.  None of which have taken place within a month or two of when the program fails to start.
When it happens again, I will be sure to capture the screenshot of the error message.  It takes a couple of hours to reinstall all the updates to get to the final 9.5.
It is difficult to recall exactly what I was doing before this happens in past incidents.  Today, an hour or two before, I had downloaded a .pdf of a meeting agenda from a trusted site (a city government website...if that can be considered "trusted"!!).  I hadn't opened any strange emails, but had just used Elements 11 to edit some photos that I saved to a file.  I use AVG anti-virus and also scan with Malwarebytes once a week or so.  There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this error.
As for the Acrobat 9 Pro updates, long ago I bookmarked the link you shared.  I download them fresh from the site even though I have copies in a folder.
For the record, I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 installed along with an older version of it, both work flawlessly.

  • Error 1328 when updating Acrobat Pro XI.  Already did what Adobe recommended and uninstalled and reinstalled from my DVD.  Still get Error 1382.

I have Windows 7 Pro with Acrobat Pro XI.  I keep getting Error 1328 when trying to update Pro XI.  Doesn't matter if I try from the Help menu in Acrobat or when I get a notice in my SysTray that an Adobe update is available.  I already tried what Adobe recommended to uninstall and reinstall from my  DVD.  I still get the 1328 error and will not update my Adobe.  Any suggestions?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times.  When I connect my iPod Classic I get the following message:  The software for this iPod is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software.  Any ideas?

Assuming you have windows, try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes.  You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful.  Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

First, for the forum view issue. Go to My Settings (on the right) and in General Settings change the Topic Page View to Flat. Click Save. Posts should show up in the order they were written.

Also, since you said that you've gone through the 5 Rs, I would assume that you used the iPod Updater to restore (since there is no other way of doing it and you don't "run" the 5 Rs).
When you restored, did you use the latest updater?
You may also want to try formatting the iPod through Windows. Connect it to the computer and when it appears in My Computer right click it and go to format. Does anything happen? Can you format the iPod through Windows?

Which operating system are you running on?
Are you upgrading from a previous version of Photoshop elements or is this your first?
Are you trying to load the organizer or the editor or do both fail?
