Uninstalling Beta

I'm not real happy with the kind of random organizational structure I've got now for the files I've imported into lightroom beta. What I want to do is completely uninstall the Beta before installing V1.0. What would be the best way to go about it? Additionaly, I assume that since my data has been saved in the sidecars, any photos that get imported will bring their sidecars along with them.

Uninstall it, and delete your Lightroom library directory. As long as the side car files only go with RAWs (not JPEGs, TIFFs or DNGs) they'll get imported into 1.0.
If you do have those types of files (non-RAWs) with edits you want to save, you are going to want to let LR 1.0 upgrade your library, then you should save out the XMP data from 1.0, then kill the library and re-import.

And i don't know how to uninstall them, i cannot find any creative drivers when i go into the set up programcan u help me please?

Hello LA,
The window that I have is different from the one you posted. Please see attached for mine. When I clicked on REMOVE, a message popped up and disappeared within a couple seconds. And the message is as following: "The installer is verifying the installation, please do not reboot while this dialog is being display." This same message popped up every time REMOVE is clicked but I have no luck on removing MAX.
This test PC is for legacy testing and it was with Windows 98 and have an ISA DAQ card installed that requires DAQ driver 6.9.3. Can upgrading the test PC to Windows 2000 corrupt the installation?
Looking forward for your advice. Thank you.

• Uninstalling beta CS6 in mac

Running under Lion 10.7.3 my Photoshop CS6 beta probably expired because it starts no more. But Bridge surprisingly does...
In fact there are not 60 days transcurred from 21 mars untill now 29 april...
When I try to uninstall with the uninstaller this one does'nt open and stays in the dock as open but without response. Trying to launch it again a second icon shows in the dock...
What shall I do? The cleaner tool is not designed for the CS6 version. I was tempted to try a new installation and then uninstall...Can someone help me?

Falling in temptation is sometimes the right solution. Probleme solved, beta working again and uninstaller able to do his work. Where was the problem?

• Uninstalling Beta iWorks from Snow Leopard

A colleague with a 2009 unibody MacBook Pro needs to install the latest iWork version, of which he has already purchased the retail box. However, sometime in the dim, dark and distant past he tried some beta version and now the installer says an error has occurred and to contact support. Anyone know exactly which files to eliminate to return the cat to a virgin, pristine and iWork-free state?

Greetings,
There was never an iWork Beta that I can recall. There are trial versions but the full version would overwrite that.
To completely uninstall iWork applications and support files remove the following files to the trash and restart the computer and then attempt an install:
Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > iWork
Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iWork*
Macintosh HD > Library > Receipts > anything iwork, pages, numbers, or keynote
Macintosh HD > Applications > anything iwork, pages, numbers, or keynote
Hope that helps.

• Help uninstall beta version

Have been using Dreamweaver CS3; downloaded beta version of
CS4 some weeks back. Forgot about it. Ordered upgrade to CS4 on
DVD. Cannot upgrade without uninstalling the beta version already
on my HD. Can't figure out how to uninstall it - I'm using Windows
which is new to me... since I am a Mac user at home. Thanks.

Haven't installed DWCS4 beta but am sure it would show up in
the Windows
list of programs, so do this:
Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or
Remove Programs. Double
click on that and, in the list, scroll to the Dreamweaver
Beta program and
click the Remove button.
Hope it helps...

• Installed/uninstalled beta 4 and now 3.6 display permanently 80%

I tried ff beta 4.* a month ago. Uninstalled it. Still had both directories in Program Files, so kept the 3.6.13 version. Now display in ff is not full page size, displays submenus in black (can't easily read them), and toolbars sometimes show as black bar with only icons visible.
I have tried reinstalling 3.6 again, no luck. I read thru your "Troubleshooting extensions and themes" and don't think I can do the safe mode thing as I don't have experience to try it. Help?!

Did you use the same profile for the Firefox 4 beta version and the Firefox 3.6.x release?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

• Can't Uninstall Beta

I recently downloaded the 4.1 beta which totally screwed up Lightroom -- incredibly slow--crashes. (windows XP Pro) I tried uninstalling and it no longer appears in Add or Remove Programs.. but it is not uninstalled and still opens, then freezes.
Before I buy 1.0 I want to clean this up-- what can I do to completely uninstall the beta?
Thanks

Try this site

• Can I uninstall beta without losing settings?

Can I uninstall 4.0 Beta 12 and reinstall 3.6 without losing my settings (bookmarks, add-ons, etc.)?

When you uninstall Firefox make sure that you do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data", this will then leave you Firefox user data intact (bookmarks, passwords, preferences, cookies etc). This data will then be used when you install another version of Firefox.

• 4.0 Beta 12 Will not print properly. Is there a fix? How do I uninstall Beta 12?

After installing the latest patch NOTHING will print as it should. Every site, every file, everything is not spacing properly when sent to the printer. Previous version worked fine and all other browsers print properly.

I downloaded the suggested file and it fixed the problem. Thanks.

• How do I uninstall Better Experience software / program ?

I can't seem to get my Windows 7 format to remove this unwanted program

Did you download Firefox from the official Mozilla site? Sometimes if you search on Google or any search provider, they sometimes have "Advertised links" which are sometimes Firefox bundles that have been slightly modified/shipped with malicious software.
* https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
If you did download from a different website and believe that to be the cause, you can report the link here:
* https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/legal/fraud-report/
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer that you may not be aware of. First check your home page settings to make sure nothing was appended (if there is a | followed by another link, that tells Firefox to open another tab with that link):
* Tools (or ) > Options > General
Also check your add-ons for any suspicious extensions:
* Tools (or ) > Add-ons > Extensions
Check your list of install programs in Windows - Control Panel > Programs and Features. Usually malware comes bundled with other applications, so if you sort by date and see several applications installed at the same day, it may be easier to find suspicious applications that way.
You can also check to see if your shortcut has been tampered with. Right click on your Firefox shortcut and select Properties. Check the target line under the Shortcut tab for any web pages after the "firefox.exe".
You can also try the Reset Firefox feature which can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information. Note: After resetting Firefox, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems article for more information.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

* AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)

• I upgraded from 3.6.13 to Beta 4.0 and now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing.

I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

• I installed Beta 2 and it froze on the epub add on. I uninstalled it installed again same thing. unistalled then installed 1.1 removed epub then uninstalled and reinstalled beta 2. just freezes on 1st page. can I COMPLETELY remove to reinstall?

I have installed the FF4 Beta 2 and intially it worked well. I then went to add ons and it froze on full screen with epub. I have the screen shot if its any good. It sfull screen and has rss feed symbol in top left of screen then underneath Whats new - epub reader underneath Version 1.3.0.3 then underneath that its says bugfixes in some cases FF4 crashed when an ebook with epub reader was loaded and tabs where switched.
Anyway I uninstalled beta 4 then installed 1.1 and removed epub reader. Then reinstalled FF4 B2 but it just freezes on opening.
For the short whle I used Beta 2 it looked great speed wise compared to earlier versions.
I think if I was to be able to completley remove firefox and do a claen install it may work.

It sounds like you are using Firefox for Maemo (Nokia N900).
If you want a completely clean install, you can get rid of your old profile by typing this command into the X Terminal app before starting Firefox:
cd .mozilla; mv fennec fennec.bak
(That will move your existing profile to a backup location, so a new one will be created. This will hide all your bookmarks, history, cookies, and add-ons, but you can restore the old profile from the backup if you need to.)

• Uninstalling Flex 4 Beta 1

This is my first time working with a beta copies of software. I would like to upgrade to Flex 4 Beta 2. I do not see an uninstall for Flex 4 Beta 1. Will Flex 4 Beta 2 install in the same directory as Flex 4 Beta 1?

Are you on a Mac or PC? If on a Mac, you can look in Applications > Adobe Flash Builder Beta (or whatever your version is) > Uninstall Adobe Flash Builder Beta. Run the Uninstall from there. If you're on a PC just go to the Control Panel and uninstall using the Add/Remove Programs dialog.
Also, Flash Builder Beta 2 will install in a separate directory than Flash Builder Beta 1, but I think they still recommend that you uninstall Beta 1 first.
