Uninstalling CS3 with CS5 already installed (Master Collection)?

I have both CS3 (Master Collection) and CS5 installed and would like to uninstall CS3. May I safely do this with no impact on my CS5 installation, or must I uninstall both and reinstall CS5? I'm on Vista Home Premium (64-bit).

You’re quite likely to break file associations if you do.

  • Installing AE cs5.5 on a computer with cs5 already installed

I have already Production premium cs5 installed on my computer, but I am really eager to try the new Warp Stabilizer plugin.
So my question is if it is possible to download a trial version of only AE 5.5 and try it out without it messing up my already installed 5.0 version.
And if I then maybe uninstall the trial version, will it mess up my original 5.0.
    Is there a way around?
Thank you, I hope I made my self clear.

Separate versions to not inetrfere with each other, so there is nothing to consider here. The only thing that has come to our attention is some weird issue where MPEG CoDecs will not work in the CS5.5 trial (even though finally they should), because their licensing is tied to the older version of AE. Doesn't affect all users, oddly enough, so you won't know unless you try.

  • Installing cs6 software with  cs5 already installed?

    can run both cs6 and cs5 ?
I currently have cs5 design premium installed and would like to check out the creative cloud cs6
trial software without messing up my cs5 install?

Yes you can run both versions.  As long as you run the proper uninstallation process it should not affect your Creative Suite 5 installation.

  • [Win]: Can't install ExtendScript ToolKit 2 - Problems with an already installed E'Script T'Kit 2?

    Hi
I have problem to install ExtendScript ToolKit 2. I had installed ExtendScript ToolKit 2 and removed it with the Uninstaller. Now I want to reinstall it but it doesn't work. The setup says there is a conflict with the already installed ExtendScript ToolKit 2, but I have removed it.
    What can I do?
I have searched in the registry about keys with the ExtendScript ToolKit 2 and removed it, but no success. I have searched in the file system for ExtendScript ToolKit 2 and removed all, no success.
How can I force the installation?
    Thanks
    Hans

I have just had exactly the same problem and I ended up telephoning Adobe support - officially free products such as the ExtendScript Toolkit 2 do not get telephone support.
The person I spoke to at Adobe suggested I run the CS3Clean utility, and that worked for me. See http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402767
BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN FULL FIRST
In my case I only needed to run level 1 in the utility. Bit of a pain though to have to uninstall everything and re-install.

  • Invalid Serial number for Adobe CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection

I bought a macbook pro off of Kijiji the other year and it came with the Adobe CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection. Just the other month I upgraded my system to OS X Yosemite and now every time I try to open my products, it asks for the serial number which, when entered is said to be invalid. Also, I don't have much information about the Adobe Products because the guy I bought it from didn't send the information with my computer. Can anybody help!

  • Is gtx770 and gtx780 compatible with 5.5 adobe master collection?

Is gtx770 and gtx780 compatible with 5.5 adobe master collection?

This is because the last released update for CS5.5 came out before the introduction of the GeForce 600-series GPUs. And Adobe usually tends to completely cease updating older software (CS6 is currently one of the few exceptions - and only for critical bug fixes, not to add new support) once the newer version is released. No driver version for the newer GeForce GPUs will ever fix or change that.
So, basically, your CS5.5 is considered "EOL" (End Of Life), in the eyes of Adobe, once CS6 came out in May 2012.
On the other hand, you can force MPE GPU acceleration to be enabled by default in CS5.5 or CS6 by simply deleting or renaming the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file. Do not simply blank out the contents of the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file without actually deleting the file; otherwise, the exact opposite would occur: Premiere would become locked to the MPE software-only mode even with a GPU that's officially supported for MPE GPU acceleration in Premiere.

  • Installing Master Collection CS6

I am trying to install Master Collection CS6 from a netowrk install, each attempt ends with only four programs beening installed: Photoshop, extension manager, extendscript toolkit and bridge. I have been told that there is something that is blocking the complete install, but no one knows what it that is blocking the install. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi jamsallen,
Please try copying the entire CS6 Master Collection setup on your local hard drive and then try installing it. It should work.

You need to tell us more about your system. We don't even know what operating system you are using, so this is slightly pointless... Also have a look at the install logs and pick out the information we may need.

  • HT3423 How do I find my original serial number if I bought my macbook with logic already installed?

I recently bought a new macbook. Previously I had been using my c.2008 macbook which I bought with Logic express installed. Since then I upgraded to Logic 9. I've restored my new macbook with my time machine. When I open logic it wants the serial number. I put in the upgrade number but it then asks for the original logic serial number. As I bought my mac with it already installed I don't know it. What can I do?

Apple does not pre-install Logic before delivery so either you purchased the laptop used from an individual or a store installed if for you. In either case, you should have received ALL the paperwork and install disks. The serial number for Express is in the paperwork. If you did not get that material, you were running a pirated copy.
If this does not describe your situation, you should call Apple Care and plead your case.

  • Installing Master Collection CS5 ?

Yes, this is a cross-post from the Suites forum, but it's because I respect all you serious PS users (and I'm nervous!).
After the absolute torture I went through with loading up my CS3 MC over the years on previous pcs I'm curious. I have a Dell / Vista 64 workstation / 10K Raptor boot disk with plenty of space and the previously mentioned CS3 MC on it - everything working great. I now have a shiny new full version of CS5 Master Collection I'd like to put on the same machine. What's the best way to go? I can't afford days of downtime because of incompatibilities between the two installs. My intention is to keep only Photoshop CS3 from the older MC (until I get up to speed w/CS5) and at some point uninstall everything else CS3.
    I'm thinking -
    1. Uninstall the CS3 MC, all of it - run some cleanscript like the last time (is this needed? available for this version?), install CS5. Then re-install PS CS3 from the CS3 MC disks (a real PITA).
    2. Forget the CS3 setup and just try installing CS5 MC and see what happens. If it was anything like some previous times this could take hours, with no assurance of success due to some random error popping up while I'm falling asleep. Then do the CS3 uninstall, maybe app by app if it will let me?
    Your thoughts are welcome!

Uninstalling CS3 will leave quite a few folders on the drive. I think this is in case you have things like actions, swatches, etc. that you created. Installing cs5 takes quite awhile so don't do it an hour or two before bed unless your will to let your system run all night.
I recommend uninstalling cs 3 before installing cs5 so no file associations break.  Also CS3 does give you the option when uninstalling to pick and choose which programs get uninstalled. I personally have not tried it though.
I am still on a 32 bit system so to my surprize I found out that after effects and premeire are cs4 for 32 bit as cs5 is 64 bit only. Something I think was let out in the promotions, or at least I did not see it. At least I have them I guess.
My video card is getting old by the software on the market already, but still works for photoshop. But I think some features still require a newer version for a card. As the 3d features are just too slow to use, not even worth having until I can upgrade.
Funny thing is some of the apps that were slow to boot are faster now but some of them that were fairly fast are now slower. I think thats due to the mind set of Adobe aiming at 64 bit systems with more than 4 GB of ram. I could be wrong on that, but thats my impression.
Anywho, good luck with the install some of the features are quite cool.

  • Best way to install Master Collection CS5

Hey thanks for the advice. I ended up going 'all in' and uninstalled everything Adobe CS3, Flash, Air and Reader (after saving all my PS settings, actions and the like on a different drive), running the CS5 cleanscripts, copying the CS5 files to a desktop folder and installing from there. Everything installed just fine on the first run (!) and yes, I went to bed while everything updated itself. I haven't gone through everything yet (that might take a year) but all the biggies fire up and that's a good thing. Photoshop, Acrobat and Dreamweaver are my big three for the moment.
I do have one little problem - the darn pc won't reboot properly (?). This started up right after I uninstalled everything and of course the uninstaller demanded a restart. It will boot through bios, then the little scrolly thing and then when the little animated logo is supposed to go on to the login screen - nothing! It just sits there with a blank screen and the HD light going blip, blip, blip. Now, if I kill it with the power switch and then cold start, select 'last known good configuration' it will boot through just fine; that's how I went ahead with the CS5 install. My big question for today is - how do I save this 'last known good configuration' as THE configuration? Anyone wanna take shot at it?
