Uninstalling Final Cut Studio completely
I want to uninstall FCS from one computer and install it on another. But, I know if its not uninstalled properly there will be elements of FCS still taking up hard drive space. How can I know I've completely uninstalled FCS?

I recently upgraded to a Mac Pro and need to uninstall Final Cut Studio from my 17" powerbook G4. Does any one have a good method for this? Is there an uninstaller? If not can you provide a list of the files and their locations so I can delete them?
Thanks!

Anyone know how to uninstall Final Cut Studio?
I've attempted 3 installs and at the very end it says there were errors (of course, it doesn't say what errors), and to try again. Well, after 20+ hrs. into this I think it's time to start with a clean slate. But I can't find anything online on how to uninstall Final Cut Studio. I found several links to some mysterious document 93150, but apple's site doesn't have it anymore. Yeah, my luck.
If anyone could help me on this, you're sure to get lots of good karma this weekend, maybe even into the week.
thanks,
-wYeah, the Knowledge Base documents to uninstall FCP 4 or higher no longer exist. (only the doc for FCP 3 exists) That being said, the Troubleshooting Basics for Final Cut Pro 5 document does detail how to trash receipts and reinstall. Haven't needed to try it myself (knocking on wood) but I take it you've have and it still hasn't worked out for you?
What, exactly, is prompting all of these installs? -

I want to uninstall some of Final Cut Studio's apps to make room on my MacBook Pro's hard drive. I just came back to Mac from PC, so I'm a little out of practice on Macs. Can someone help me? Thanks.
AppZapper
It comes with 5 free zaps before you have to purchase, but the price is good.

Uninstall Final Cut Studio Pro 2 (buggy)
Really Frustrated with FCPS2, can any tell me how to remove Studio from my system. I need to go back to 5, but need to clean out the buggy Final Cut Pro Studio 2
You can do a "clean" install of your OS, or you can:
http://proapptips.com/tips/article.php?story=20060927223215377&query=reinstall
the clean install is the most hotly debated topic right now, other than the utility of "Content Creation with Final Cut Studio" forum. you decide. good luck. -
Ok this may have been addressed but I could not seem to find any info. I am looking to update to Final Cut Studio 2. I want to buy the full version. However I have Final Cut Studio installed how can I unstall it and then install the new version without any issues. Thanks in advance
Welcome to the discussions!
Apple agrees with you: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305389
The procedure is to trash the applications, and their respective folders in Library>Application Support. -
Uninstalling Final Cut Studio 1 Extras
I am on a 1st-gen MacBook Pro with a 100 GB hard drive that filled up quite quickly. I am looking to remove some unnecessary features so as to clear up as much space as possible.
I'm running Final Cut Studio 1 (Academic Version) and remember that when I first installed it, I installed a ton of optional material (tutorials/templates, etc.) for the programs included with Final Cut Studio. What is the best way to go about removing this extra junk off my hard drive? I think it will clear up a lot of space.
Thanks!Go to the Library>Application Support>Final Cut Studio folder. Inside you will find the additional content for FCS; Soundtrack Pro loops, Motion & DVDSP content, etc.

How can I UNINSTALL Final Cut STUDIO?
I do not want it anymore! How can I Uninstalled??????????????
Thank you!1) In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder (Shift-Command-G)
2) Enter the location /Library/Receipts/FinalCurPro.pkg/Contents
3) Click Go to open the Contents folder
4) Launch Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal)
5) Enter the command lsbom -s (that's a lower case L, not an upper case i)
lsbom lists each of the files inside the bill of materials. To list only the folders, the command would be lsbom -d.
6) Type a space, then drag the Archive.bom file from the Finder window to the Terminal window.
7) Press Return to view the list
8) Drag to select the list in the Terminal window and choose File > Copy (Command-C)
9) Open a text editor and paste the list into it. Print if you have a printer attached.
10) Guided by the list, delete all the files and folders, being extremely careful to delete from the exact locations shown in the list.
NOTE: This and the instructions in my previous post come from the Peachpit book Optimizing Your Final Cut Pro System.

How To Uninstall Final Cut Studio
Anyone know of a way to do this? I have no desire for it to be taking up the space it takes up when I barely, if at all use it anymore.
Anyone? Looked on Apple's Discussion Forums and found nothing of substance.
Thanks.
Not sure if it matters but the version of FCP it came with was 5. I want to remove the whole Studio thoughThis page tells you how to properly remove receipts and user preferences so upon reinstall the software update works correctly along with the rest of the program.
I am not looking to re-install.
I am leary of apps like AppZapper.
I was curious if maybe someone had a nice clean list like Adobe does here for CS 2: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=331301 -
Helllo, I want to remove FCS 1 from my iMac in order to install FCS 3. How could do that?
If you use LiveType you might want to hang onto it as it's disappeared from FCS (2009).

Final Cut Studio - Perfect Uninstall
I'm trying to completely uninstall Final Cut Studio because Final Cut refuses to launch but everything else works just fine. I've been referred to using Final Cut Rescue 5 but I don't think it's working because every time I go to reinstall Final Cut Pro I have to click on an upgrade button. It doesn't say install nor does it ask for my serial again. There has to be an old file somewhere that it keeps referring to which is probably causing my problems. Any help? Thanks
FCP Rescue simply deletes FCP preferences, which is very handy, but has nothing to do with uninstalling FCP.
Do a search here on "uninstalling" or similar.
