Uninstalling HP Versions

I travel around with my laptop and each time I visit an office I seem to get allocated a different printer for temporary use. I know all about network printing but firms sometimes prefer to let casual users just plug in to an off-line printer.
If I carry on loading printer software and the extensive unwanted software intrusions that seem to be a compulsory part of HP printer / scanner software, I will be overwhelmed. Do anyone know the best way to remove HP versions particularly all in one printer scanner software. Why is there no uninstal opion???
What a waste of time just getting here.

What do you mean "there's no uninstall option"? Almost any software can be removed from the Add/Remove programs option from Control Panel in Windows. If you insert the installation CD, you get the option to uninstall. Have you tried ANY of this before asking the question here?
Also, you could just download the basic drivers for the printer you're using to install it. It usually is about 60mb, and it saves you a lot of time installing and uninstalling it.

  • I cannot uninstall itunes version 10.7.0.21 from my laptop use of that I also cannot install the new update.

I cannot uninstall iTunes version 10.7.0.21 from my laptop (windows 7), therefore I cannot install the new iTunes version....!
Every time I try to do it, a "message" from the windows installer pops up saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable", I try to find the installation package "iTunes.msi" but I can never find it either...!
The funny part is, I can still use this version, but I would like the have the update, which can make my computer much faster than now!
    Can someone help me out??

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • I need to uninstall downloaded version of Elements 12 on a computer, then install Elements 12 on the same computer directly from a disk. Elements 11 was previously used on same computer, and the albums and library had been moved to the first installation

I need to uninstall downloaded version of Elements 12 on a computer, then install Elements 12 on the same computer directly from a disk. Elements 11 was previously used on same computer, and the albums and library had been moved to the first installation of 12, which I am removing. How do I correctly unstall the old Elements 12, and install the new elements 12 from disk, and retain all albums and libraries from the old Elements 12?

You're welcome.  It was not an answer, it was a question, and it could lead to being helpful if you explain why you think you need to uninstall.
As far as uninstalling goes, you will uninstall it like you do for any program, which depends on what kind of operating system you have.  If you wish to retain albums and whatnot, maybe the following link can provide some guidance.

    Akeenleyside,

  • Can't uninstall older version, can't install newer version

I bought The Wiz off iTunes, and it stopped about nidway through it and told me there was an error. So I contacted a tec dude, and he told me to download a newer version of Quicktime. So I tried, and it told me that a newer version as installed and the installation process could not be finished. So then I tried to uninstall the version of Quicktime I had, and it said the same thing, that I could not get it uninstalled until the newer version of Quicktime was uninstalled. I know my way around my computer very well, and there is only one version of Quicktime installed on it, which is 7.5.5. I tried downloading a newer version, 7.6.2, but it still gave me the same message.
Until this is fixed I can't download anything off iTunes and it's driving me crazy. Any ideas?

    It's gotta be in here

  • Do I need to and how to uninstall older version of JDK 7.0

Hi,all I have installed both JDK 1.7 update 21(1.7.0.210) and 51(1.7.0.510), and so I wonder do I need to uninstall the older version which is JDK 1.7 update 21, as they both show up in the list of `Programs and Features` on Windows. Second, I tried Java Uninstall Tool, it only reports `There are no older versions of Java on your computer`. So I wonder can I just use the `Programs and Features` that manually uninstall any version of Java if I need to.
    cheers

As I also set up `JAVA_HOME` to `jdk1.7.0_21` when I tried to install Android Developer Kit, so do I need to update `JAVA_HOME` accordingly? The installation was tricky, and I don't know if it is this setting up `JAVA_HOME` step made the ADT installation work.
If the installation instructions of this product require setting a JAVA_HOME variable then yes, otherwise no.
Trying is certainly a good teacher, but I'd rather read documentation first to at least make it educated tries.

  • Can't install Adobe Flashplayer 11. Uninstalled old version. enabled Java. Allowed cookies. Install button grey.

Can anyone help me with this problem of installing Adobe Flashdrive 11, the latest version ? I'm bashing my head against the wall. Started when iPhoto would not load to Facebook and was advised it could be Flashplayer update after troubleshooting other options including deleting extraneous iPhoto files. I uninstalled older version, enabled Java, allowed cookies, downloaded installer but when I try to download it, the install button is grey and won't work. (This is, coindcidentally the same problem that suddenly began today with iPhoto which always worked fine before....grey button for "publish") It is ALWAYS a problem installing Adobe anything, and usually this same problem. All my software updates are current. Now I have NO Flashplayer and can't use YouTube at all, much less iPhoto.

Also, sounds like others are having this problem. Read other posts, didn't find an answer. OBVIOUSLY did not solve my problem. No delete ? First time here, sorry.

  • How To Uninstall Earlier Versions of Flash Player???

    Can anyone help?!
I recently installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
    V. 10, and the instructions said it would be best to uninstall any
earlier versions of the Player. I have 3 installations of Adobe
Flash Player V. 9, and 1 installation of Macromedia Flash 5.0 on
this computer, and haven't the foggiest notion of how to uninstall
them! They are all located in the Windows i.386 folder which I've
been told is dangerous to play around with. The new installation of
    V. 10 went directly to C:\Windows\System32\Macromedia\Flash, which
is right where it should be.
Anyone have a clue as to how to uninstall these earlier
versions and if it's necessary to do so at all?
Also, when running Flash Player V. 10, I've been getting an
error message when on IE 6.0 that says, "it's encountered a problem
with an Add-On' and need to close - The following add-on was
running when this problem occurred: File: Flash10a.ocx - Adobe
Flash Player, Adobe Systems". Does anyone know what could be the
problem with this "add-on", and how to fix it?
    Many thanx,
    Lida :-)

I have a similar problem with version 9c. It has left an
entry in my registry pointing to a file that was appearantly
uninstalled during an upgrade. The result is an incomplete
uninstall. I think that earlier versions of the program had bugs in
the uninstall or upgrade work that left these nasty messes in our
computers. There is an uninstall program available on the website
for version 9(x) that may work for you. Here is how to get to it:
    Go to this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/
Under "Windows 2000/XP/Vista" there is an "Uninstaller"
Click on it and either save it to a download directory and
run the uninstaller from there or,
click the "run" button and run it from the web site (like I
did). In either case this will uninstall the version on your
computer now. In my case it did not clean up the registry issue
though. It did permit me to do a clean installation of the current
    version. I hope this helps!!

  • How can I uninstall old versions of Adobe Illustrator?

How can I uninstall old versions of Adobe Illustrator?

This is for uninstalling CS2, but you might find it helpful. EDITED: but watch out, since I don't know if trashing any of these will remove currently needed Illustrator files, if you have a later version.
To uninstall Adobe Creative Suite in Mac OS 1 -- Double-click Activity Monitor.app in Applications/Utilities, select AHCRemind, and click Quit Process.
2 -- If you intend to install the product on a different computer, transfer the activation. (See “To transfer the product activation” on page 1.)
3 -- If you want to uninstall Adobe Acrobat, double-click the uninstaller in Applications/Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional, and follow the on-screen instructions.
4 -- If you want to uninstall Version Cue 2, double-click the uninstaller in Applications/Adobe VersionCue CS2, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: If the Version Cue uninstaller fails, see the alternative procecure, “To remove Version Cue manually” on page 4.
5 -- From the Applications folder, drag the following items, if present, to the trash: Note: After you drag the items to the trash in steps 5-8, you must empty the trash before you can reinstall
Adobe Creative Suite 2 on the same computer. • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional • Adobe VersionCue CS2 • Adobe Bridge
    • Adobe GoLive CS2 • Adobe Illustrator CS2 • Adobe InDesign CS2 • Adobe Photoshop CS2 • AdobeHelpCenter.app
6 -- From the Utilities folder, drag the following items, if present, to the trash: • Adobe Utilities • Adobe Updater.app
7 -- From the Library folder, drag the following items, if present, to the trash: • Application Support/Adobe/AdobeHelpData • Application Support/Adobe/Assistance • Application Support/Adobe/StartupScripts/Workflow Automation Scripts
    • Preferences/Adobe/Workflow • Preferences/com.adobe.ActivationUtility.plist • Preferences/com.adobe.GoLive.plist • Preferences/Adobe Save For Web GL 8.0 Prefs
8 -- From the Users/[user name] folder, drag the following items, if present, to the trash: • Library/Preferences Panes/Opera Preferences
    • Library/Caches/Opera Cache
    • Documents/AdobeStockPhotos
To remove Version Cue manually (Mac OS only, not recommended)
If you’ve accidentally removed parts of the Version Cue installation manually or if the uninstaller fails, you have to remove the remaining installed Version Cue components manually.
1 -- From the Library/PreferencePanes folder, drag the Version Cue CS2.prefPane folder to the trash. 2 -- From the Library/Preferences folder, drag the com.adobe.versioncueCS2.plist file to the trash. 3 -- From the Library/StartupItems folder, drag the AdobeVersionCueCS2 folder to the trash. 4 -- From the Applications folder, drag the Adobe Version Cue CS2 folder to the trash.
5 -- From [user home]/Library/Preferences/Adobe, drag the Workflow folder to the trash. 6 -- (Optional) From the [user home]/Documents folder, drag the Version Cue folder to the trash.

  • Uninstall older versions of Flash Player?

I just installed the latest update for Flash Player...can I now uninstall older versions?

    Yes, you can.
It is best to use the uninstaller from Adobe. It is on this page:
    http://http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
    Follow the instructions.
Because I am having problems with getting Flash Player that works on my pc, I have saved the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller to my desktop. It is helpful not having to go back to the Adobe page to get it when I need it.
After uninstalling old versions of Flash Player, remember to check that the new version you keep is installed correcly and working properly, go to the Adobe "Find Version" page and follow the instructions there.
    Here:

  • How to uninstall previous versions of lightroom?

how do you uninstall previous versions of lightroom?
Do you also need to delete any folders?
I have Updated to the new LR CC version a couple of days ago and need space.

Knowing whether you are using a Mac or a PC would be rather important to answer your question.
Anyhow, there is not need to delete any program folder manually. Simply use the respective method of your OS.
LR CC created a copy of your LR5 catalog and upgraded it. If you remove LR5 you might want to remove the catalog file as well as the preview folder (make sure not to delete the new ones of LR CC ).
Here is how to find everything: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lightroom-41.html

  • Can I safely uninstall previous versions? Move licence to new PC?

I have PS going back to PS5 and all subsequent upgrade versions to CS5. Can I uninstall old versions through add and remove?
Also what is the procedure for moving to a new PC - regarding licencing? Do I have to load every version on the new PC till I get to CS5?
    Thanks
    John

Some people have had problems uninstalling old versions. They tend to take file associations with them, leaving "stuck" registry keys, so that you can no longer associate file types to open in Photoshop.
The way to avoid that is to uninstall everything in inverse version order, then reinstall the latest. Yes, it's a pain.
If you don't plan to use it on the old machine anymore, remember to deactivate. You're allowed two activated installations at the same time, provided you're the only user, but you may need the second activation later.
When you install an upgrade the installer will ask for the serial number of a qualifying version, if it doesn' find one on your HD. Put in the serial for the previous upgrade and go. You don't need them all, the installer is perfectly happy with the last one, even if that is in itself an upgrade.

  • HT1926 When Installing new version error is quicktime cannot uninstall old version

When trying to install new version of Quicktime, I get a error message that quicktime cannot uninstall old version. This also affects Itunes to work. Get Message Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. I think not having quicktime working affects my Itunes from launching.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATION" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").
In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC. Now try another QuickTime install. Does it go through properly this time?
