Uninstalling iLife 09

Before few months ago i've have installed illegal version of iLife 09.
Since I had a-lot of problems mainly with iMovie- I bought a legal version.
I installed it immediately over the illegal version and I thought it's OK;
however I see that I still have a problem with iMovie.
My question is how can I uninstall iLife 09, and of-course installing it again.

I had to take your advice. iPhoto 09 was not acting right. It was taking forever to go from Photos to Events to Faces. Each time the beach ball would show up. The last time it did this I had to reboot. The beach ball was up 10 minutes and my mac never acted like that before. After rebooting, iPhoto '09 would not open my iphoto library. At first it wanted to upgrade the library. Sure, I thought, why not, it was not like I had an option. But after a minute or two another dialog box came up saying that I needed to use the latest version of iPhoto as the library had been changed. But I already had the latest version installed!
So after trying different things suggestion on this forum and on the internet, I had no choice but to take your advice and remove iLife '09. I then re-installed iLife '08. Right now the iPhoto Library manager is importing and restoring my photos. It's a third of the way there. I just hope I can get everything back to the way it was. I did spend a lot of time adding keywords to my photos.
Question? How do I go about getting my money back for the failed iLife '09. I have no use for it, nor will I ever trust it. And I don't want to keep it. I want my money back. I paid real, good money and expected a product that worked.

You may want to but as previously provided, it is not required and there is no reason to do so. IMO, better to spend your time and effort on something to be gained.

How do I uninstall iLife '09 to move to new computer

I can't find uninstall instructions anywhere, and there's not an uninstaller on the iLife installation disk. I have to send my laptop to a coworker across the country, and I want to uninstall iLife '09 and move it to the new computer that I'll get eventually.

iLife comes on every new computer so you can leave it on the computer you are giving to your coworker and you will get the current version when you purchase the new computer

I am having problems with the new directory of iPhoto'08, I want iPhoto'06 back.
I tried to install iLife'06, but the iPhoto'06 was skipped.
That means I have to uninstall iLife'08 first.
Can somebody help me with this?

If you also have a backup from the actual iPhoto 6 application (and the old iPhoto library) copy & paste is all you need. I had a full backup from my HD so I just renamed the iPhoto 08 app (), copied the old iPhoto 6 back to applications and the old library to pictures. That did it. Keyword Assistant was my main reason to do so...

no need to uninstall version 5. Installing iLife 6 will upgrade all the iLife 5 products.

How do I uninstall ilife 08

I have recently upgraded to ilife 08 and think the program is great, however my web site now takes up to 5 min to download where as before on the old version it would download straight away. Can I uninstall the iweb only or do I have to unistall the whole 08 package. If so, can someone please tell me how to do this. Thank you

You can just drop your iWeb away... Select, drag and drop to the bin and it's gone... If you want... However I personally don't believe that would big such a big deal...
It's possible that there will be problems with the domain.sites2 file getting back from version 2 to version 1. But I actually don't think so... Anyway be sure to make a Backup of that file before doing anything... You never know... And if there's a problem if you have backup it's easier to revert back to 2.x

The same way you uninstall any other application -- find the various applications in a Finder window, and drag them to the trash. If you're planning to reinstall earlier iLife applications, you'll probably also need to go to the HD >Library >Receipts folder and remove the associated receipt files for the applications you removed. You'll also find some application support files that can go in HD >Library >Application Support.

How can I uninstall ilife 06 and go back to ilife 05?

At least for idvd, it is such a pain. I need to get a project burned to dvd, and even though the sound files are playing in idvd and they are in the file, the sound files do not play when the dvd is burned.
I've wasted too many DVD's and too much time trying to figure out what the problem is.
Tried to install idvd 5 from the ilife 05 disk. It goes through the motions but didn't do anything.

Are you really still running OS 10.3.8 as shown in your profile?
My Panther machine is at 10.3.9.
I'm only trying to run the iLife '06 applications on my Tiger machine with 10.4.4
BTW, the iLife '06 box says "v10.3.9 or v10.4.3 or later. v10.4.4 recommended"
If you really are still at 10.3.8, that might account for your problems.

How can I uninstall ilife 08?

My iweb crashed also when I tried to publish. When I reopened, all my photo pages had erased.
I did a restore of my domain site from my last back up and it opened fine but when I tried to publish, it crashed and erased again.
Can someone tell me how to unistall the whole ilife 08? I will just leave it off my computer then until Apple gets this bug fixed.

If iWeb came with the computer it will be on the install disks that came with it. You can use Pacifist to locate the iWeb install package and install it. Move the current iWeb out of the Applications folder. You probably should delete the iWeb preference file before running the older version again. Don't forget to update V 1 to V 1.1.2.
Did you repair disk permissions after installing iLife 08? If not do so now and give iWeb another go. Since you have a backup copy of your original domain.sites file you can experiment with several fixes.

I think I messed up. How to uninstall iLife disc and keep existing iPhoto.

Ok. I was reading some other answers but didn't see this one. After upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.5, I began having problems with editing in iPhoto.
And upon opening iPhoto, it would take forever. Usually I just minimize it in the dock. So, if I do too much editing to my photos, they come out half overexposed and half normal. No rhyme or reason. No particular photos. Just random. Only if I do a lot of editing. I have to revert the photos and only do a little editing. Annoying. Spoke with Apple support for 2 hours. we tried everything he could think of. Nothing fixed it. He thought it might be a glitch in the software so he sent me a new iLife disc. Now when I bought this iMac in 2009, it already had iPhoto on it. No disc for that particular application. So the disc he sent me was the bundled version iLife '11 for version 10.6 or later. Now here's where I think I messed up. I didn't delete my existing iPhoto before I clicked and installed the new disc. (My icon is the orange palm tree BTW) so after install was complete, I clicked on it and it and the icon got a white circle with a line through it and a pop up that read, " Please run software update to install it now. it offers two buttons to click...."Software Update" and "OK". When I click on the software update, it takes me to the Yosemite upgrade feature (which I don't want). What did I do?? iPhoto won't open at all. Now I just want to forget this disc and go back to my screwed up iPhoto version. Help???

Nevermind. Fixed the issue. Had to go back and install the earlier versions.

How to uninstall ILife?

Hi all, new user here. My machine came with Ilife08 installed, I'm thinking of upgrading to ILife09. A few questions. Do I have to uninstall 08 first, and if so, how do I go about it? I don't see any uninstall files.
And a gripe....why is there no savings available for those using 08 when they purchase the 09 install? You'd think a few bucks for current users would be cool...

You shouldn't need to uninstall anything. The installer should be able to update your existing applications. However, I would recommend backing up all your iPhoto/iMovie/etc libraries prior to upgrading, just in case things don't go as smoothly as expected (as the new applications will likely want to upgrade the existing libraries)...

How to "Uninstall iLife 6"

Is it possible to uninstall iLife6 and revert to iLife4? I really like the way iMovie in particular works with my machine as opposed to version 6. May sound crazy, but is there a way?

Hod do I cleanly uninstall iLife 09?

I just did a clean install of OSx and all of my apps on a new drive. I mistakenly installed iLife 09 before installing 06 HD and now I have 2 problems. First is that iLife09 automatically upgraded QT to the latest version which I didn't want to do so that I could retain my GeeThree plugins, and secondly I now can not install 06.04 by itself.
Can someone detail for me which files I need to trash for all of iLife 09 so I can install 06 and is there a way to roll back QT back to v.7.3.0?

So after playing around, I decided to keep iMovie 09. It seems to be a pretty awesome effort despite the lack of a timeline.
I still wanted to have iMovie 06 on my system though, so I was able to figure out how to re-install iMovie 06 HD by copying it off of my old HDD. The application seemed to open correctly but none of the original iMovie Themes are showing up in the editing panes.
Does anyone know what other files I need to extract to make sure the iMovie works properly with iLife 09 suite.
