Uninstalling java apps.

Hello...
I'm having a bad experience over here cause I cant use or Uninstall ANY java app on My nokia 5530.
"Internal Errorending stop app request to JavaCaptain Failed"
I have been trying all to solve this but I cant.
Please help me!
Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I am presuming you have installed this software on a memory card - this error is mainly caused to removing the memory card when apps etc are on there
first try a soft reset (only resets settings no data deleted) *#7780#
however if that doesn't work you may have to format your memory card

  • Uninstalled Java, but my apps still work??

    I'm wondering if there's something I'm not looking for -- some way Java can start up.
    I uninstalled it and I don't understand why some Java-based apps still work.
    How is that possible?
    The reason I care about this is because I removed Java in response to a virus.
    I haven't found traces of the virus (possibly "Win32/TrojanDownloader.Agent.PDF trojan") anymore.
    I've used all kinds of utils to get rid of it:
    Manually: ProcessExplorer, HiJackThis, Process Scanner
    Automated: NOD32, Malwarebytes, Ad-Aware, Spybot, TrojanHunter, Trojan Remover
    I uninstalled Java with Windows Add/Remove.
    And I don't have any "Java"-titled processes listed as currently running in my Windows Task Manager.
    But now some Java programs work and some say they can't find Java.
    Working: OpenOffice, FileZilla
    Not Working: jEdit, Spark, DirSyncPro
    I just noticed and deleted some "java" titled items in my Prefetch directory.
    I'll restart now.

    Ok, nothing reappeared in the "Prefetch" directory, but OpenOffice and FileZilla both work fine.

    This is needed for work but I get this message. From home it works perfectly. My guess is our proxy is blocking something. I have no control over the proxy so I need to knw what to tell our network engineer so this can be opened if this is indeed the case.
    Thanks for any help!

    Just now I uninstalled the Sun Java Studio Creator and deleted all directories related to it, then re-installed.
    I don't know why, but It is just ok now.

  • Can java app programmer make secure app?

    I am the author of the Interactive Color Wheel. It (in various versions) has been on the web since 1998, and has been very popular. With the recent hysteria about Java security, I have observed hits fall off dramatically. While it is not commercial and I'm not losing money, the drop-off still concerns me.
    So the question is, until such time as Oracle fixes it, what can I as an app programmer do to alleviate the problem?
    It seems quite ironic that the java app "sandbox", which was supposed to ensure security, seems to be the very source of the current problem. As far as I know, my app:
    * uses the screen
    * accesses the mouse and keyboard
    * accesses resources within its own JAR
    It does not:
    * access the web
    * write/read cookies (or do anything else on the file system)
    With these limitations, is my app even dangerous?

    I'm ignorant concerning the plug-in magic that gives a Java applet a sandbox to run in which protects the rest of the computer (and the world!) from devious programmers. How I view it is the Java Run Time (JRT) does not need a browser plug-in, but the plug-in needs the JRT. That would make them two separate things. If the plug-in for Java 6 releases was safe, why cannot it be packaged with the Java 7 JRT?
    Yes it was a rant -- not really at the whole world, but the journalists and supposed experts they interviewed. And certainly not directed at anyone here! I did not even know there was a problem until I allowed the JRT to upgrade last week, and my app would not run normally any more. At first I blew it off as "the installation screwed up". So I de-installed and re-installed the upgrade several times, and the security block did not go away.
    So I was frustrated but not yet angry. Then during the weekend I got serous about tracing down the problem, and discovered there really was a security issue. From my first question, you can see I still did not understand, thinking that devious internet Voodoo could make my app insecure. If that were the case, how would I block the Voodoo?
    Then I learned here that my applet was not in fact insecure. The press and "experts" were just telling people it (Java in general) was. I don't know what you have read, but there are some ridiculous claims being made. Not just disable Java for the time being (which the browsers are doing automatically now), but that it is inherently unsafe. Completely uninstall it and never re-install. Or the problem is so bad, it will take Oracle two years to fix. I know as a programmer those extreme claims are foolish, and I allowed that to affect me emotionally. I apologize.

  • Problems with CR used by a Java app when converting from WebSphere v5 to v6

    Background:  I have been assigned support of an old Java app, currently running just fine in a WebSphere v5 environment.  It uses CR to produce 4 reports.  Running the app in the WebSphere 6 environment, 2 work and 2 don't.  (!?!?)
    I don't know what version of CR the reports were originally designed in - nor do the people who produced them 6 years ago.  I have tried installing (and uninstalling) various versions of CR on my PC (v7, v8, v8.5, v9, v10, v11) to see if I can find one that would work with the .RPT files.  None do.  Either I get a warning that the report file is in an old format and saving it will prevent its use by the older version - whatever that may be...; or it opens the report, but when I click on the Database tab on the menu bar, CR locks up my machine.
    It has been decided by my management that it would be best to just upgrade to CR vXI and continue from there.  The XI 'developers edition' is what I am currently running.  However, when I open the .RPT file (one of the ones that work), it takes about 5 minutes; then when I click on the Database menu item, it locks-up my pc.
    I have other experience using (back-versions of) CR, but have never run into anything like this.  Has anyone had any experience with upgrading reports designed for Java to the vXI?  Can you provide me with any information, hints, suggestions about how I might proceed?
    Thank you, in advance, for any assistance you might be able to render.  Regards,
    Jeff Emslie.

    Hi, Jadie.
    Thanks for the quick response.  It may be the original report definition was designed pointing to SQL/Server v7, then was being overriden by the Java code to SQL v2k - which we are about to convert away from...  I have no experience integrating CR into a Java app.  I don't know how the data source specification works with Java.  That is why the first thing I'm trying to do is to look at the Database connection: to see how its done.
    As for the version it was originally written in; I don't know what it is.  No one here knows.  I have tried every (old) version of CR we have in the shop (list above).  None seem to work correctly with these .RPT files.  Do you know of a way to determine the CR version of an unknown .RPT file?
    Thanks,
    Jeff.

  • Help with uninstalling Java in Mavericks

    Hi All,  I am running OS X 10.9.1 on a Macbook Air.  I cannot seem to figure out how to uninstall Java.  It is running as a process, yet whenver I kill it, it restarts.  I would like to completely delete it but can't seem to figure out how.  There is no Java control panel or preference pane in system utilities.
    Here's what I've tried:
    1. Following the instructions at http://www.java.com/en/download/help/mac_uninstall_java.xml and moving JavaAppletPlugin.plugin to the trash and restarting, Java is still running according to Activity Monitor.
    2. Installing Java 7 again - still no control panel or preference pane in system utilities
    3. Searching library for everything java related and throwing it in the trash, restarting, still no luck.
    I'm pretty much out of ideas.   It's using a fair amount of CPU time and since I'm not running any apps that need it, I want it gone.
    Thanks in advance!

    I had an attempt but had some problems. I decided to use JBuilder's Design function and get to display my open --> file menu bar. The code is implemented but the bar doesn't show up.
    If I do it my way by using the following code it manages to work:
    // Menu Bar
    MenuBar mbar = new MenuBar();
    setMenuBar(mbar);
    Menu file = new Menu("File");
    MenuItem item1, item2, item3;
    file.add(item1 = new MenuItem("New"));
    file.add(item2 = new MenuItem("Open"));
    file.add(item3 = new MenuItem("Close"));
    mbar.add(file);
    Any reason why? Sorry for the n00b questions.

  • Java Apps failing to launch

    Hi,
    I hope I'm posting this in the right place, I'm not quite sure. I'm running Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition. I was (attempting) to install WebLogic 8.1 Platform, but the installer kept failing. What would happen is the 'preperation' window would come up but the installer would never launch, even though javaw.exe showed up in the task manager. (I finally installed using console installation.)
    Once that was installed, I tried launching the workshop - yet again the same thing happened. java.exe or javaw.exe shows up in the task manager but the workshop never launches.
    It seems like any java app simply won't launch. How can I troubleshoot/fix this problem? On my hard drive I have:
    j2sdkee1.3.1
    jdk1.3.1_09
    Note, I really know little about java at all. Let me know if this should be in a different forum.
    Thanks
    Tom

    I have similar problem.
    Had Weblogic 8.1 installed without problem, then installed JDK 1.4.2.05 successfully.
    Now everything stop working and even a simple applet on IE would crash the browser. Any applet would die and I'd see java.exe on the Task Manager sitting there doing nothing.
    I uninstalled the JDK but still Weblogic got messed up, can't even uninstall it.
    Any insight would be appreicated. I'd really hate to reimage the OS, only if that's the last resort.

  • E63 JAVA Apps Problem

    I updated the E63 firmware to the latest version (v410). But after that, the existing some of my previously installed JAVA apps are no longer showing in Installations (although they are shown as installed in App Manager). And the JAVA apps which are shown, cannot be launched. That is, I click on them but nothing happens. Also I cannot uninstall any JAVA apps and also cannot install any JAVA apps. PLEASE HELP!

    Sometime I've had .sis installers hang at the start of installation, but a reboot always fixed the problem.  If rebooting your phone and/or disabling any antivirus/security software you may have installed doesn't help, then I'm afraid your only solution is to back up your data and perform a hard reset (*#7370# , default password 12345).  But before making work for yourself, download that program again or try installing a different Java program, just to make sure.  Good luck!

  • How do I run multiple java apps in one JVM to reduce memory use?

    Hi all,
    I saw an article either on the web or in a magazine not too long ago about how to "detect" if the app is already running, and if so, it hands off the new instance to the already running JVM, which then creates a thread to run the Java app in. As it turns out, my app will be used in an ASP environment, through Citrix. We may have as many as 50 to 100 users running the same app, each with their own unique user ID, but all using the same one server to run it on. Each instance eats up 25MB of memory right now. So the question is if anybody knows of a URL or an app like this that can handle the process of running the same (or even different Java) apps in one JVM as separate threads, instead of requring several instances of the JVM to run? I know this article presented a fully working example, and I believe I know enough to do it but I wanted ot use the article as a reference to make sure it is done right. I know that each app basically would use the same one "launcher" program that would on first launch "listen" to a port, as well as send a message through the port to see if an existing launcher was running. If it does, it hands off the Java app to be run to the existing luancher application and shuts down the 2nd launching app. By using this method, the JVM eats up its normal memory, but each Java app only consumes its necessary memory as well and doesn't use up more JVM instance memory.
    Thanks.

  • Open java app and insert text

    Hello All!
    I'm looking for a little help on an exact problem that seems to have been solved here before (but doesn't work for me).
    Here's the original archived thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2631967?start=0&tstart=0
    The question asked is exactly the same....
    I have a java app for a Speco Technologies DVR. After opening the app, you must type in a rather long url and then click connect. If you enter the url, then quit the app, when you relaunch it, it does not remember the url that had been entered the previous time.
    I would like to create a script that will launch the Java app and then input the url (text string). I cannot get this to work.
    I've gotten as far as this:
    on run
    tell application "Finder" to activate open document file "DVRVIEWER(DO_NOT_DELETE).jar" of folder "Applications" of startup disk
    delay 5
    set myString to "192.168.0.118"
    repeat with currentCharacter in every character of myString
    tell application "system events"
    keystroke currentCharacter
    end tell
    delay 0.25
    end repeat
    tell application "system events"
    keystroke return
    end run
    AppleScript has a Syntax Error of "Expected end of line, etc. but found command name."
    Does anyone ( taylor.henderson where are you! ) have a fix, or even a better way to do this? Can I edit the existing .jar to have the info directly in there?
    I would actually love to add another section in there that fills in the username and password after entering in the IP address!
    Just for clarification on how this goes:
    Launch .jar.
    Window Launches and prompts for IP address
    Enter in IP address
    Press RETURN
    Windows disappears and new window appears and prompts for username and password
    Enter Username
    Press TAB
    Enter Password
    Press RETURN
    Thank you guys, I'm sure it's easy, but hey, for me Photoshop and Illustrator are a breeze :-0

    Is it possible to use similar commands to maximize the java window?
    Yes.
    You must enable the checkbox labeled "Enable access for assistive devices" in the Universal Access System Preference pane
    Add these lines after the last line wich contains "keystroke return"
      delay 2
      tell (first process whose frontmost is true) to click button 2 of window 1 -- zoom
    Here's my test script ( the Speco camera demo), that works without problems here, I use the application "DVRJavaView4.1.jar", this script checks the existence of ui element (more reliable) rather than any delay.
    on run
         do shell script "/usr/bin/open '/Applications/DVRJavaView4.1.jar'"
         tell application "System Events" to tell (first process whose frontmost is true)
              repeat until exists window "Please Input DVR address"
                   delay 1
              end repeat
              keystroke "millapt.ddns.specoddns.net"
              keystroke return
              repeat until exists button "OK" of window 1
                   delay 1 -- wait until the login window is frontmost
              end repeat
              keystroke "user"
              keystroke tab
              delay 0.1
              keystroke "4321"
              delay 0.1
              keystroke return
              repeat until name of window 1 starts with "DVRJavaView"
                   delay 1 --wait while the login window is frontmost
              end repeat
              click button 2 of window 1 -- zoom
         end tell
    end run

  • Uninstalled Java 6, installed Java 7, keep getting requests to install Java SE 6 plugin. Why?

    Because of the security issues with Java, I uninstalled Java 6 (using various terminal commands) and installed Java 7 from Oracle's website. Looking at /Library/Internet Plug-Ins, I can see that JavaAppletPlugin.plugin is there, and Get Info tells me that it is part of Java 7 Update 09.
    However, when I use Safari to try out a Java test page, or use one of the Java-based programs that I need to run for work, I get a message that says, "To open “PluginProcess,” you need a Java SE 6 runtime. Would you like to install one now?"  (PluginProcess is replaced by the program name if I am running a Java program.) If I click "Install", the Apple version of Java 6 gets installed.
    This doesn't make sense to me. Why would Java 7 need the Apple Java 6 environment? And why doesn't Safari or other Java based programs recognize that the Java 7 JavaAppletPlugin.plugin is on my computer already?
    Although I'm not really an IT person, I am pretty handy with the Terminal and command line operations, so if fixing this means using the command line, I'm good with that.
    Thanks!

    I think I've found a solution to the problem that Java Applications doesn't use Java 7. This seems to work for me. Try it and please confirm if it works for you.
    1.
    Install Java SE Development Kit 7u9 from Oracle
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7u9-downloads-1859576 .html
    2.
    Execute something that triggers the prompt to install Java SE 6. for example i web site using java applet. And follow through with the installation. (after this you will have three java versions: Java6 32-bit, Java6 64-bit, Java7 64-bit)
    3.
    Open a new terminal window and execute the following commands.
    $ cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions
    $ sudo rm CurrentJDK
    Password: ********
    $ sudo ln -s /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_09.jdk/Contents/ CurrentJDK
    $ sudo ln -s CurrentJDK 1.7
    $ sudo ln -s CurrentJDK 1.7.0
    Note: I don't know if the last two lines are necessary, but I just tried to follow the existing pattern.
