Uninstalling MBAM 1.0 SetDnsHost error

I have a Two Server Setup for MBAM 1.0 currently.  I was in the process of documenting my MBAM 2.0 installation in my lab when I ran into a problem of not being able to successfully uninstall MBAM 1.0 from the SQL Server.  I found http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/mdopmbam/thread/012d5ebd-17d5-42d4-aeea-38b86307c944.
I verified I am a domain admin, and local administrator of the server.  Checked the permissions from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2754138. Rebooted the server. I'm still getting an error shortly after mbamcreategroupsdeferred step runs in the UI and
in the log file is throwing an error SetDnsHost return 1603. From what I can tell my server is able to contact the Domain and DNS just fine.
I am including a snippet of the log file that I feel is causing me the issues.  I'm just not having any luck finding any information on the SetDNSHost error.  If anyone has any information or suggestions I'd be grateful for them.  It is my
test lab, but I'm hesitant to more into production until I can get this figured out.  Thanks!

Well after a few days of checking our Certificate Authority in our lab, verifying certificates and network communication we finally solved the issue.  Again this was a lab environment, but I wanted to know how to fix this should I run into the issue
in production.
In the Registry under HKLM | Software | Microsoft | Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring | Setup, there is a NetCert Value that corresponds to the Certificate Thumbprint or Certificate Hash value.  On my Test Lab Database, this value was
incorrect and did not match the value in my Server Authentication certificate.  Once I changed the value to match and rebooted the servers, I was able to successfully uninstall MBAM 1.0 from the Database/Report Server.
After finding this solution in my lab I was then also able to verify that my production servers registry value and Certificate Thumbprint match as they are supposed to.  Hopefully I will not any issues when I go into production with my upgrade to MBAM
2.0.

Everytime I turn on iTunes it say it wasn't installed properly and can't burn CD's. However all my music is there for me to listen to on my iPod Nano.

  • Can't install or uninstall itunes itunes 64.msi error

Can't install or uninstall itunes itunes 64.msi error - does anyone have a fix?
The itunes64.msi cannot be found in the temp sub-folder it was originally installed in.
I believe the System Mechanic cleaned out the temp files and now I can't install or uninstall itunes.
I tried to manually recreate the folder that the itunes64 setup is looking for and manually copied the 11.0.1 version of all the .msi files included in the installation, but, the installation still cannot find the itunes64.msi.

I was able to solve my problem by following all the directions at the following Apple site - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926?viewlocale=en_US
I was not able to remove the iTunes program using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel; however, that didn't seem to matter. I removed the directories and used the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. I reinstalled iTunes Ver 8.1.1.10 with no problems. I'm sticking with this version for the time being.

Should the advice above not fix things for you...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Uninstalling MBAM 1.0 Administration Server

I am in process to upgrade to MBAM 2.5. When I uninstall MBAM 1.0 from Administration and Monitoring server, the files/folder get removed and entry deleted from Add/Remove programs too. But it leaves behind the IIS website/Registry keys and Security Groups.
Shall I delete all of it before installing 2.5? As per Microsoft, there is no need and the upgrade should work seamless. When I tried to install the new version, it failed last time. Any insights is appreciated.

I have done it many times before, dont touch anything even though the local groups are kind of redundant. If you are failing, look at the installation logs for 2.5 for more insight.

After iTunes update I see this - Runtime error R6034 "application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly".  ThenUninstalled then I also get iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 (Windows error 1114).  I've tried fixes for runtime but computer says there are no errors.  I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and get all the above messages.  Now when I start up my computer the runtime error pops up, but once it is closed computer works fine until I try to open iTunes.  I've even tried a system restore going back to November.  I use iTunes for audiobooks on iPod and I'm going to get desperate soon. • Surface Pro 3 - MBAM/BitLocker/TPM: "An Error Has Occurred" Issue

We are trying to implement full disk encryption using MBAM Server/Client and BitLocker. We have been successful on standard Windows 7 Ent and Windows 8.1 Ent laptops and the MBAM Console reports encrypted/compliant.
The Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8.1 Ent however has been a pain in the you-know-what! It just will not work like our laptops. The Event Viewer error we get is as follows:
"An error occurred while applying MBAM policies.
    Volume ID:\\?\Volume{dfd94fd0-206c-45d1-a19a-6a39019ada1e}\
    Error code:
    0x80310018
    Details:
You must initialize the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) before you can use BitLocker Drive Encryption."
For reference, here is our workflow:
    1. Enable TPM in UEFI.
    2. Install .NET 3.5 since this is apparently a Windows 8.1 requirement for MBAM. Reboot. Install related updates from Microsoft Update. Reboot.
    3. Verify relevant MBAM & BitLocker GPOs are applied by running "gpupdate /force" in an elevated command prompt. Reboot.
    4. Run the following elevated PowerShell commands and then reboot:
    $tpm=get-wmiobject -class Win32_Tpm -namespace root\cimv2\security\microsofttpm
    $tpm.DisableAutoProvisioning()
    $tpm.SetPhysicalPresenceRequest(22)
    5. Install MBAM Client 2.5 and KB2975636 hotfix.
    6. Run MBAMClientUI.exe and set PIN. On our laptops, encryption begins, but on the Surface Pro 3 we get a generic "An error has occurred". Event Viewer shows the above error.
Can anyone help?? There has got to be others that have used MBAM on the Surface Pro 3.

More testing today and I *think* I may have found my issue.
I failed to mention that on step 5 above, I have been rebooting after installing the MBAM Client and hotfix. It appears that this extra reboot breaks the process and does not allow the MBAM Client to initialize the TPM when running MBAMClientUI.exe. If I do
not reboot, then everything seems to work great.
