Uninstalling nokia music

i have been having a problem i cant download any more from nokia music store. it fails and error message database column out of range comes up. i see from a previous post its come up before. technical support have advised me to uninstall nokia music however i find i cant do this. any suggestions. also does this mean i'll lose all the music i've downloaded already?

Hi!
You will not loose your music if you uninstall Nokia Music. All the tracks are stored on your computer, most likely in your "my music" folder.
If you get an error message about "database column out of range", try the following:
1) Uninstall the Nokia Music application
2) After uninstalling set ur folder options to show hidden files and folders
3) Go to c:\documents and settings/<username>/local settings/application data/nokia data store/database
4) Look for MDataStore.db3 and delete it
5) Reboot PC after deleting the MDataStore.db3 file
6) Reinstall the Nokia Music client again and try downloading the songs

  • Nokia Music 2.0 released under Nokia Apps in India...

    Hi,
Today I downloaded Nokia Music 2.0 from Market, buy it's not working on my Lumia 800, showing following message. My phone is unlocked, so I took following screenshot.
    Error:
    https://dl.dropbox.com/s/lmorne5ezf0g8vl/m2.jpg
    Available on Market:
    https://dl.dropbox.com/s/lmorne5ezf0g8vl/m1.jpg
NOTE: If I sideload the application from using xap  for v2.0 which is available for download on the net, It works fine, but official version not working, and not only me, if you check the reviews on market place, all of them are having same problem. Why there is no testing before publishing it on the market?
    Thanks
    Saugata

I found a partial fix, not form Nokia, I tried it, and it works
    HOW TO MAKE IT WORK:
    1. If already Installed, Uninstall Nokia music first.
    2. Now goto settings, and change region to UK, and restart the phone.
    3. After restart, goto market and download the application.
    4. After completing the installation, open Nokia Music.
    5. This time you can open it without any problem.
    6. Now again goto settings, and change region to India, and restart the phone.
    7. Enjoy Nokia Music.
**Few options are not working properly, you will get some error, like My account showing 'Nokia Music Unlimited' but I can't download any songs, it's showing error
**This is only works once, after some time, it's again started showing same error. Nokia can only solve this..

  • Nokia Music (Software) - Can't import files

    Hi
I'm having trouble importing music with Nokia Music (Version 1.2.20226.01). The files are in a folder on my Windows desktop, but for some reason when I try to import them into Nokia Music, it doesn't see them.
Even stranger is the fact that the files play through Nokia Music, but I cant seem to import them into the PC Collection.
Has anyone had a similar problem or can anyone suggest what the problem might be?
    Thanks

I'm experiencing this problem for the 2nd time now. The first time I tried everything I could think of and ended up contacting nokia support... this is the solution I was given:
I would suggest that you kindly uninstall Nokia Music application from your PC by following the steps below:
The Nokia Music installation is shown in:
Add/Remove programs listings within Control Panel of Windows XP (Classic View)
Both of these locations can be navigated to by pressing Windows Key + R > enter: appwiz.cpl
Within the list that shows all of the non-OS (Operating System) installed programs on the PC, there will be entry for Nokia Music. Select this entry, then select "Remove" from the options to the right. After the uninstallation process has succeeded, you may be prompted to restart your PC, please do so. Kindly note that this process will remove the Nokia Music application only. It will not remove any music content downloaded from the service.
Once removed from the PC, delete or rename the MDataStore.db3 file in C:/documents and settings/<username>/local settings/application data/nokia data store/database. Then reinstall the Nokia Music client again and attempt to download the music content.
NOTE: The <username> will be the Windows username used by customer.
    Steps to locate the MDataStore.db3:
    C:/documents and settings/<username>/local settings/application data/nokia data store/database
Please select Tools>folder options>view> show hidden files and folders (from windows explorer). Kindly reboot PC after deleting the MDataStore.db3 file.
Before reinstalling Nokia Music client, please note the following:
    1) If security settings are set too high, the Nokia Music client may not have installed properly.
In Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites, and set the default level to Low.
    2) If you are using internet security or firewall, such as Norton Internet Security, Panda or Zone Alarm, they may block the Active X control from running. Check the program configurations, and lower the overall security settings to medium/low
    3) It is recommended that you add Nokia domain (*.nokia.com) as a trusted site in your firewall.
    4) Kindly ensure that your Internet connection is stable. After the above steps are followed, please try again to download Nokia Music client. You can refer to the link below to download and install Nokia Music client:

    It worked for me - hope you guys have the same result;

  • Issues with Nokia Music - Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

    Hi All,
I just bought my Nokia 5800XM today and I really am enjoying it. However, the issues I'm experiencing with Nokia Music are very frustrating...
    In short:
    1) I already updated all components, my Nokia itself and all the applications that came with it
    2) I already reinstalled Nokia Music after uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs
    3) Main issue is as follows:
-> Downloading Nokia Music itself: No probs
-> Installing it using the Nokia Installer: No probs
-> Starting it up the first time: I do get a welcome screen where I have to fill in a few things (language, if I want to import music right away and such). No errors here.
-> However, when clicking "Next" in this screen, Nokia Music doesn't load at all. I get an error (MS Vista:Application is not responding and MS Vista is searching for a possible solution). A few seconds later MS Vista can't supply a solution, so the only option is to shut Nokia Music down without ever seeing the program.
This is very frustrating. Even more so, since I got 2 vouchers for a total of 125 music clips which I would really like to use besides my future purchases.
I would really appreciate it if someone knows the definite solution for this very irritating issue.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Freekiedee

3b. On Vista, delete C:\users\<<Windows username>>\appdata\local\nokia\Nokia Data Store

  • Nokia Music will not work

Please someone help!  I have installed the new version of Nokia Music on my PC and it will not start - I get the first screen and then a message from Windows telling me that it has stopped working and it shuts down.  The earlier version of Nokia Music Manager worked fine.  I have tried removing the whole of PC Suite, and have used the Nokia PC Suite cleaner and then reinstalled everything, but it still does not work.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Does anyone know how to solve the problem?  Is there another way to transfer music to my phone?  Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,
More information about your PC and Phone will help us to narrow down your issue   If you are using a phone which is not compatible with Nokia Music yet, my suggestion would be uninstall Nokia Music{if you dont need this anymore as your phone is not compatible with this yet}, downgrade your pc suite to earlier version say, 7.1.26.1

  • Nokia music: mix radio disappeared.

The Nokia music on my lumia920 no longer have options like "mix radio". It was there when I started the phone for the first time, but disappeared after a while. Now I only have "my music" and "settings". I reset the phone several times, but always got the same result. How can I get other options back?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well, I have searched the internet and found out why. Nokia actually fixed something in Amber update that makes Nokia Music checks your country via the SIM card and thus if your country isn't listed amongst the few where Nokia Music services are available, the mix radio and other features disappear. It's strictly Nokia that implemented it to prevent people from outside regions/countries access to the services. Just remove your SIM card, uninstall Nokia Music and reinstall via WIFI (without SIM in phone) the services will be available once you set your region/country to any of those listed. But immediately you re insert your SIM, the MiX Radio and other features will disappear. No solution cos Nokia has done this intentionally, it's no bug.

  • Nokia music player won,t load

My nokia music player has stopped working recently and gives the error mesage " Nokia music has encountered a problem and needs to close"  I have tried  downloading the latest software  but still get the same result .  I am using windows Xp and this has worked fine for 10 months. I would be grateful if anyone has a solution to this problem.  Thanks in anticipation.

I'm having a similar problem. Ovi Player reported a new version that transpires to be Nokia Music Player. I downloaded the appropriate software which include Components. Components appeared to install correctly, but the Nokia Music Player installation reports a problem when it is about 20% installed - I cannot use it, and I cannot get back to Ovi Player. I uninstalled Nokia Music Player, removed all the downloads and tried again - I even tried the USA version (I am in UK) and that did the same thing. Not sure how to undo the Components bit and re- install them in case the problem is there. Seems to be a problem in the Nokia Software house at the moment - I could not download two tracks from the Ovi store even though it charged me for them.
Later - I've managed to remove the Nokia Multimedia Common Components and am trying reinstalling them.
Even later - that worked, so I guess there was a problem with the Nokia Multimedia Common Components download and install first time.  I had to remove them both (Components and Music Player) using Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.  I used Search to find all 'Nokia' folders and files, deleted all the ones modified on the day I downloaded them, and started again.  Success.  Except that both Ovi Player and Music Player seem to take forever to sign me in?  Is it relevant that the third download (which was successful) was Louis Armstrong singing "We have all the time in the World"?

  • Nokia Music Reinstall

    Hi,
I'm in Australia and have just purchased a Lumia 800 from Vodafone locally. The device came with Nokia Music installed, I then had an alert saying an update is available. The update wouldn't install stating "This application is not available for your device"
I then uninstalled Nokia music thinking that would do the trick and let me update properly.
Unfortunately not, now I can't reinstall Nokia music and I don't want to do wipe my phone and start again.
Can someone help? I know Nokia music is available in Australia, so I'm a bit lost??

Hey Strads, Welcome to the Nokia Forum!
Have you tried to reinstall it, If you go to Marketplace > applications and find the Nokia Music application you will be able to re-download it onto your device for free.
If you are not able to install it through marketplace OTA then you will be able to install it via Zune software on your PC is you connect via USB.
    I hope this helps.

  • Nokia Music: Mix Radio, Store, Gigs options disapp...

    Hi,
I have been using Nokia Music on Lumia 710 without an issue until today when I launched it and options for mix radio, store & gigs disappeared. I uninstalled the app and re-downloaded it.
On launching it, all options became available but disappeared again after a few seconds. Any subsequent launch without re-downloading doesn't show the options. Only my Music & Settings appear.
What could be the issue? Am running Nokia Music vs 3.1.0.0 on OS Version 7.10.8773.98; Firmware 1600.3031.8773.12121.
    Any assistance will be appreciated.

You can find release information on the new version of Nokia Music in this post. As of v3.x it is no longer possible to bypass the terms and conditions you agree on when using Nokia Music and use it in a region where the service (either Nokia Music and/or Mix Radio) are not available. See the list of countries where available in the post mentioned above.

  • Nokia E72 Nokia Music issue

Hi.. I purchased a E72 and activated GPRS on it. I also got a 25 track  free download voucher. I was able to download 12-15 tracks from my phone. However when I Got to Media--Music Store. It tries to connect thru GPRS, however instead of getting regular page to search songs etc, it gives a web page with message that this device is not currently supported. It also gives me a website to check what all phones are supported. I called Nokia care line, but they were of no help. Instead they todl me to uninstall and reinstall ovi player on my phone. I tried to do that but there is no such option to do that and Ovi player is not listed as an app to be uninstalled. Please help me to understand why I am unable to download any tracks from Nokia music now where as I was able to do that earlier. I have also tried to select other access points for GPRS but no help. I can browse Ovi store and download apps from there. I can also browse other web sites on my Phone.

  • Nokia Music crash immediately after start-up

Recent attempt to open Nokia Music, the new application which combines Nokia Music Store and music player function much like Apple version of iTune software, has failed with a Windows error message popped up informing that the application will be closed and contact Microsoft for the problem. Upon clicking sending error report, the application will cease operation.
Several attempts to re-open the application resulted in the same situation. Recently, I have tried to use the application by not responding to the popped up message, hiding it beneath the taskbar and continue using Nokia Music application. Surprisingly, there is no problem accessing my library, Music Store, play music and update the meta data of my music collection.
What could have caused Windows to forcibly end the application while previous usage has not prompted any errors and ignoring the error message as I did, does not affect the functionality of the application?

I contacted Nokia Netherlands because I've experienced the Nokia
Music software crashes to, they emailed me a solution to this problem,
this is what the Mustafa from Nokia wrote to me:
    Dear RWSS,
    Thanks for contacting Nokia Care.
Remove Nokia music from your PC first, and go to the down listed path
and remove everything in the  Nokia folder, this could be a hidden location.
    C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia
Check if your system has the minimum system requirements
You need Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Internet Explorer 8 is not supported by
Nokia Music Store. If you have installed Internet Explorer 8 you'll have to
downgrade to Internet Explorer 6 or 7.
You also need Windows Media Player 11 because Nokia Music uses
components of Windows Media Player 11. You also need .NET framework
3.0, if you're computer is up to date you'll have .NET Framework 3.5,
remove it and replace it with version 3.0.
If automatic update is on in Windows you'll get the same problems again
and you should turn automatic update off.
If you need more information, don't hesitate to contact us again.
    Regards,
    Mustafa
    Advanced Technical Care Team

My advice is to wait till they support Internet explorer 8 and .NET framework 3.5, don't uninstall them, don't leave your computer open to security risks, this is why Micro$oft brings updates out.
Nokia should support these because .NET framework 3.5 and IE8 are much safer then previous versions.

  • Anyone got Nokia Music to work with (recognise) N9...

Several times over the last months I have tried to get Nokia Music to work with my N95 8GB.
Every time I have spent hours and hours installing, upgrading, uninstalling etc etc but never success.
The Nokia Music PC software will not recognize my phone.
No matter what kind of connection i choose when i connect the phone - PCSuite, Mediaplayer etc, none of them makes the Nokia Music recognise the phone.
I am currently running Windows XP SP3, PC-suite 7.1.30.9, Nokia Music 1.3.20716.09, phone firmware is 31.0.015, phone code is 0550372
I am (_again_) dead tired of this, and for the moment (again) I truely hate Nokia PC software.
Has anyone got Nokia Music to work with N95 8GB?
    Regards,
    Njål
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

     Hi Njaale
Yes - it is working fine for me on a n95-
You need to connect your n95 in Media player mode.
You have  1.3.20716.09  but the latest version is - 1.3.2072
    1) You can get the latest version from here - http://musicstore.nokia.com/download.aspx
    2) If you are having licencing issue it could be because of the drm folder . If step one does not work try to delete the drm folder - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\DRM . You need to make sure that hidden files and folders are not hidden and also that protected operating system files are not hidden.
    To see hidden files:
    1.
On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
    2.
    Click the View tab.
    3.
Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
Oh and just to be sure you are using nokia music
Here is a picture of it - http://www.slashphone.com/media/data/766/nokia_music.jpg
You can see in that picture on the left hand side is the phone you drag and drop your music into that phone picture to transfer your music.
Nokia pc suite below does not transfer nokia music
    picutre - http://tltc.shu.edu/mobile/Nokia-PC-Suite_1.png
This is because the software in the first link (nokia music) is designed to recognise "DRM" software. But nokia PC suite in the second link does not currently do that.

    Hi all,
I'm having some trouble with Nokia Music on my windows XP computer.
I looked trough all the other threats but nothing looks the same.
Yesterday everything worked fine but after a reboot things got wrong. When I trie to start the app it sais there was an error in the app.
When I trie to reinstall, also removed the files in documents and settings: ...
The error happens even when I trie to uninstall or install.
What can I do about it except reinstall the whole pc?
    kind regards,

Ok. I read just about everything on in this discussion group and Apple notes.
I then declared all out war on this this evening. I won.
    Here's what I did:
    1. Assumption - you have Norton AV or Norton System Works installed. I suppose it will work if you have NIS installed.
    2. Removed ALL my anti-spyware programs (i.e. Spybot 1.3 and Microsoft's Anti-Spyware).
    3. Rebooted.
    4. Opened up Norton AV settings in Norton System Works and selected Internet Worm Protection.
    5. Under Applications - Added iTunes and iTunes Helper. Set operation to PERMIT ALL.
    6. Under "General Rules", I added a new rule named "iTunes".
    7. Under the "Communications Tab", I added a rule to allow UDP traffic to both local and remote ports 5353.
    8. Rebooted.
    9. This time, when the system started, I got a message indicating that "application iTunes is trying to access the internet." Clicked on "Remember and allowed the operation.
At this point, things started working.
The removal of the Anti-spyware programs MAY or MAY NOT be necessary. I will add them back in to see if they make any difference or not.
Now - Apple, my suggestion to you is to PUBLISH the ports and protocols and network targets. I was only able to gleam the ports used because Sygate indicated that iTunes was using UDP port 5353 to communicate.
Anyway, for those of you with this problem and are running ANY of the programs mentioned here, try my recommended course of action.
    Charles
P.S. Now, I need to figure out what causes the occassional skip/stutter. But, my iTunes is working.
