Uninstalling Photoshop Album Starter

I have been using Paint Shop Pro for several years. I installed this complimentary edition of Photoshop to see what it looked like. It immediately defaulted all my photos on the computer to the Photoshop program. Now I can't open them in Paint Shop Pro. I would like to uninstall Photoshop Album Starter and return to PSP but I'm afraid, if I remove the program, I'll also remove my pictures. Please let me know.

Firstly, this was an option you accepted during install. Unfortunately the default has this behaviour.

Don't worry - your pictures will be OK. This won't fix the problem as you still need to reassociate any file types with PSP. Just right-click on a fil ein Windows Explorer, choose Open With, select PSP and check Always Open.

UNINSTALL Photoshop Album Starter COMPLETELY

Hi!
I'd like to remove PSA v3.0 from the computer. There's no uninstall button in the Control Panel's Add/Remove programm, and no separate uninstallation file in the PSA programm's folder.
I'd like to get rid of this software, so how can I uninstall the programm, without resorting to simply deleting the program's files?

Sometimes this happens will applications if the link to the original setup
is broken. I would suggest reinstalling the application and then you should
see it in the control panel again. At that point, obviously, you can remove
it.

Photoshop Album Starter edition 3.2 abnormal program termination

I have just logged onto version 3.0 and I was offered an upgrade to 3.2 via the message centre. I followed all instructions and downloaded the files.
When I now go to open the Album an error message comes up headed:
Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library.
In the window centre the message reads:
Program: ... Starter Edition\3.2\Apps\Photoshop Album Starter Edition.exe
abnormal program termination
(Press retry to debug the application)
When I press retry the program simply shuts down.
Any thoughts?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling it. Something obviously went wrong
with the upgrade.

I have fully patched XP SP2
AOL 10 as default email client
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, registered and unlocked.
When setting pref for email client within Adobe PSE, AOL is not listed as an email option. I have reinstalled Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2, and unlocked, reinstalled AOL 10 (desktop) and reset it as the default email client. The default is working, as mailto: links in browsers open up AOL Desktop, and the email app listed at the top of the <START> button is AOL. How can I set it as an email client in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2? Is there some registry hack? Interference with another app?

Re 3.2 Photoshop. After I had some repair done to my computer, the photos in my album have the restricted little red square at the bottom of each photo. When I try to open the photo to fix or print a message box comes on that nothing can be done because of overide problem. In fact it closes the photoshop immediately because of this error. Is there anything I can do? - if I search the Browse button I get absolutely no connection or a march. This is most frustrating. I tried calling tech assistance, they could not help me infact hung up on me. What sort of helpfull assistance is that? Should there be any helpfull suggestions, other than uninstalling (Have done that) and reinstalling (done that) nothing seems to work. Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition is not a software that stores images but it rather stores their location in a catalog. So you can uninstall the application if you don't want to use it further and your images will remain in the locations they were already in.

Processor: 1300 Mhz, 1.3 GHz, 512 MB of RAM.
Operating system: Windows XP Home Edition.
No printer.
When I start Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 to visit my photos that it holds hostage, I get the following popup message and a frozen cursor:

"Runtime Error!
"Program: ...ter Edition\3.2\Apps\Photoshop Album Starter Edition.exe
"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information."
I have tried repairing Album Starter Edition 3.2(through Add/Remove Programs) and uninstalling Album Starter Edition 3.2 and installing a fresh download; however, the same thing continues to occur.
Any ideas?

After installing the program and running it, installing photos in over 18 collections and transfering photos to PSA from camera chips and third party software programs flawlessly for several months, I now get the above stated error messages (when trying to add photos to a new or exsisting collection from a chip or transferring from another Jpeg file/folder in another program on my computer):

Disable Photoshop Album Started Edition

I want to stop Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition from starting automatically when I plug in a usb cable. I have a new smartphone and Adobe starts when I plug in the phone's USB cable and interferes with the synchronization. I don't want to have to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition. I cannot find a setup menu or any way to change it in preferences, is there anyway I can disable it? Thanks,

Unwanted start up of photoshop album starter

every time I connect my camera to my PC the photoshop album starter opens. I like the program but I want to choose when to use or not to use. If I can't make it stop I'll have to delete it. Can it be done?

You can import your images in PhotoshopElements6 immaterial of there presence in Photoshop Album Starter Edition.So, let's take your questiona one by one.
1)As far as getting your images out of album starter is concerned, album starter is not a software that stores your images. It just keeps the location of your images in a catalog. So, if you want to get your image out of album starter and into PhotoshopElements.
-Get the location of images in starter edition by right click, select properties and click on the folder icon at the bottom of the properties dialog box.
-Now Launch Photoshop Elements(Organizer) and drag and drop the images to it or go to File menu, select "Get Photos from>Files and Folders", browse to the location of the images and click on Get photos.
-Once you have transferred all your images tp photoshop elements you can uninstall album starter and keep just one application on your system.
2)The email workflow in Photoshop Elements is as follows-
-Launch organizer.
-Select some images
-Go to the Share tab
-Select Email attachments/Photomail
-Then proceed as per the directions.
You might have got stuck due to some network problem. Can you please tell me which mail client are you using and where exactly did you get stuck in the workflow?

Two days ago I introduced photos of my baby into my PC and automatically went into the programm Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Then they were deleted of my photo camera. Then I wanted to access to the photos in the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 but I read that since the end of Juny we need a decodification code and that now it is not availabel. I just find fixed issues where there is not shown my problem and I cannot find the way to write my question about my need of a code for Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. How do I get my videos to all work correctly in Photoshop Album Starter Edition Ver. 3.0?

I have been using version 3.0 for the last 3 years and had no problems with any of my videos playing once they were downloaded from my mobile phone or camera to version 3.0 until August 2007 but now a lot of them say 'The selected file cannot be played'. All the files that don't work are '.AVI' files and the only thing I can see they have in common is that in the file name it says -1x-1 next to the file size and length of the clip, whereas the working files have full numbers i.e. 640*480. I still have a couple of files downloaded after August 2007 that do play but not many. Is there any way I can change the settings or recover these files so they will actually play?

It seems to me that these problematic files may not be .avi files, or are corrupted; it doesn't seem likley that it's a setting in Photoshop Album Starter Edition.
Do any of those files play in Windows Media player? Another possibility could be that these files are sidecar files to your video files; are there similarly-named video files that work fine? If so, then I would suspect that these .avi files are, again, not .avi files, and could be simply text info that goes along with your .avi files, and could be ignored (removed from the catalog).

Can't open a PDF file with acrobat photoshop album starter 3.0

scanned pictures and saved them as a PDF file in another computer. I think the version was 6 (but not sure). I downloaded acrobat reader (version + acrobat Photoshop to my computer.
now I'm trying to open the files in order to make some changes in the photos (cut them and so on), but I cant open them. can open them with the acrobat reader. but not with adobe Photoshop album started 3.0. I am getting a massage saying "the PDF file foes not contain any photos" and it shows the location of the file. the file definitely contains photos. what do I need to do?

Is it Photoshop Starter Edition that is giving your the No Photos message or is it Reader?
If the PDF has photos in it, and you open it with Reader, you should see a toolbar called Picture Tasks. Picture Tasks will let you extract the photos.

PhotoShop Album Starter Ed. Interferes with Flash Drives

I have installed the Adobe PhotoShop Album Starter Edition 3 on a new computer and can no longer use my flash drives for data. The drives no longer appear in Windows Explorer and there is nothing that I can find in the program prefs that will let me turn off the auto launch and import routine that starts every time I insert a flash drive. I have not had this problem on the old computer running the same version of the software and the operating system. I have had to remove the program so that I can regain the use of my flash drives for handling data. Does anyone know the secret to being able to use both PhotoShop album Starter Edition AND flash drives for data? I am running WinXP SP2.

I observed same problem on my machine many times. I have noticed that we remove flash drive/card reader without using "Safely Remove Hardware" of windows then sometimes windows explorer is not able recognize the card reader/flash drive.
For this, I would suggest you to click on device hardware icon in the system tray and select "Safely Remove Hardware" and then click [Stop] in the next window. Then windows will tell you if device is busy or safe to remove.
Using this , I am no longer observing problem of card reader not being recognized. Hope this helps!

How to transfer metadata (tags etc) from Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 to A P Elements 8

I have just bought the Adobe Elements 8. I was told that this product was the upgrade product from the trial version of Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. Can't find a clear solution in this forum of how to transfer the metadata to the Adobe Elements 8 and continue the indexing with the latest product. Hopefully somebody can help.

If you still have your 3.2 psa catalog in your "My Catalogs" folder, try
downloading PSE5 from here:
http://www.johnrellis.com/photoshop_elements_5.0_trial_version.exe.
PSE5 should be able to find your catalog and you can convert it into PSE5.
If that doesn't work, it may be because you weren't able to run "reconnect
all missing files" in PSA3.2 before attempting the conversion. If all your
photos were still connected, this should work. Then you can open PSE8 and
convert PSE5 into PSE8. Do a "reconnect all missing files" in PSE5 before
you do the conversion. Even though all my files were connected when I
converted PSA2 into PSE5, PSE5 had about 30 unconnected photos.
