You cannot install non-compatible applications on your phone, the only way to remove it may be to do a reset !! Dial *#7370# followed by 12345 and your phone should reset to 'out of the box' condition. Back up your contacts, calendar and notes ONLY before re-setting, you will then have to set up the phone as though it was a new phone, and re-install any apps you want, DO NOT include any Symbian^3 Applications and you should be good to go, but it may take you a couple of hours to set the phone back up again.
If you are not familiar with customising your phone, it may be a good idea to ask about things before you dive in rather than after the problem has occured, there are hundreds of people here always willing to answer queations and give advice, also the search tool at the top of the page can be useful

Hi,
Theres a couple ways to uninstall programs. The launchpad is the rocket icon on the dock. If you open that you should see your apps spread out as icons as if it would be on a iphone or other iOS device. If you just click the icon with your mouse button and continue holding the mouse button the will shake and show the X. If you click that X it will ask if you want to delete the program. This only works for programs downloaded through the APP Store. If a program does not have an X then proceed to the next way of uninstalling

Open finder
- On the left side you will see applications > Click that
- Then you will see all the programs on the right side.
- If you click on the program and drag it to your trash bin it will ask if you would like to make changes and delete.
- Just make sure not to delete anything that was preinstalled with you Mac

I am new to Mac and don't fully understand how to uninstall a program from my Macbook Pro. I've been having some problems with the Sims 3 (Probably some custom content that was bad) and I want to completely uninstall The Sims 3 from my laptop. How do I do this? I have heard that some people say to just delete the folder from my Applications, but being that I come from PC that doesn't seem like it gets rid of everything to me. Anything would be helpful. Here are the steps:
Manually Uninstalling The Sims 3 from a Mac
Delete the /Applications/The Sims 3 folder (or any for a Stuff of Expansion pack).
Delete the /Users/"User"/Library/Preferences/The Sims 3 Preferences folder.
Delete the /Users/"User"/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder.
Note: This file can be saved as a backup to retain save games, simply rename it.

Uninstalling Software
Generally uninstalling an application is as easy as dragging it from the Applications folder to the trash. If software was added by an installer, it is likely that there will be in that same installer, a provision to uninstall, which in that instance would be the best method to get rid if it. Otherwise just dragging it to the trash will remove the working part of the application, and leave only a few defunct preference files.

If they are third p[arty applications, go to the developers web site and look for specific instructions on deleting the application in question.

Hey guys,
I can't find a place to post this...
I used to be able to insert the disk and choose what applications to install or uninstall: yesterday I put in the disk with CS5 and I was trying to uninstall some of the apps I am not using and I did not have that option...then I relized that at some point back in late 2011 I was prompted to upgrade to CS 5.5.....So my question is now how do I uninstall the apps I don't want and free up some space?
I can't find an "uninstaller" in the application folder in their respective folders.

How Do I Uninstall a Program from A iMac G5?

I have just moved over to my first apple computer an iMac G5, and i installed a trial version of Sophos Anti Virus software which does not work well, and so I wish to remove it.
The thing is I dont know how you uninstall programs from the Mac system. I am running OS X 10.4.3
Also, can someone plese tell me what Antivirus program is reliable to install.
I have managed to turn on the built in Firewall that is in 'System Preferences' so I guess i don't need to buy another software version as well?

PS, I have been extreamly impressed how easy it has been to install my printer, graphics tablet and PDA on a Mac system, as this has been very problematic when I used Windows XP Pro.
I think I am now a convert for life!

I have never run anything unessential on my mac's for the past four years
(after crossing over from Generic PC to Mac after being hacked in front of my eyes on the windows ME platform. I saw my desktop gradually deleted and the computer left with only the desktop, no icons, and no where to go ! re-started and there was no system left !)
since changing over to Mac like anti virus and such, I just use built in firewall.
Probably have to get a little more cautious as times change though.
Uninstall is just grab the application and throw it in the bin generaly. Just throw away the main folder if there is one of the application you want to un-install there may be some pref files left over but generaly these do not cause a problem.
Probably run disk utility after emptying your trash and press repair disk permissions and that should do it.
But I am no expert at all it is just what works for me.

I am trying to remove in SpiceWorks device information about uninstalled programs from Software Tab.
I was following advice from SW community and support but still cannot to remove from device details information about uninstalled programs. E.g. all office 2003.
I've used re-scan from Tools, removed device and scan again using Find more devices from Network scanning and deleted from machine (even from registry) but still this program appeared on the list.
Is it really no way to remove this software from device inventory or database manually?

How do you completely uninstall programs from the Mac? OS X 10.4.6. I want every connected file gone as well. I tried to just move the application icon to the trash, but I don't think that does it. I reinstalled the software and it opened right where I had left it the last time before throwing it in the trash. I'm used to the PC uninstaller in the control panel. Any help?

Delete any files related to it from the Library, Library/Application Support/, and Library/Preferences folders of the item in the Finder's sidebar with the house icon. Using a tool such as AppZapper may help.

What app do you want to uninstall? If it's an app that is provided by the installation of OS X, e.g. Safari, Reminders, Notes, Mail, etc. - there are many others - they shouldn't be uninstalled.
If it is an app that was downloaded from the Mac App Store, in Launchpad click and hold its icon until it jiggles. Click on the 'x' in the corner to delete it.
If it's an app that was installed using an installer program it is always best to see if an uninstaller is available from the developer of the app (there is often an uninstaller bundled in with the installer package).
Other third party apps that are simply drag-installed into the Applications folder - like Skype, for example - can be just dragged to the Trash and will be deleted when the Trash is emptied.

I am trying to install the update for WOW but it won't install, On my desktop I had to totally uninstall WOW and do a clean install from the MoP DVD's and figured since the same issue with installing it was the same on desktop and macbookpro uninstalling WOW would be the best way to go. Help?? If I drag the WOW file to the trash will that do it or am I missing something else. I have never uninstalled any program from the Macbook as yet.

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

I am trying to uninstall a program that I downloaded from the internet and do not use anymore. However the drag and drop into the trash bin does not do it because it is still in my applications folder. How do I completely uninstall it from my macbook pro?

Typically there are a couple of ways.
1. What you did followed by emptying the trash, and
2. Use the uninstaller that may have been bundled in the package.
If available, you should run the uninstaller provided by the application.
