Uninstalling SDK SE v1.4.2

I had two versions (1.3, 1.4.2) of SDKs. I am uninstalling both to do a clean install of 1.4.2 on my Windows XP SP2.
1.4.3 got uninstalled successfully but when uninsalling 1.4.2 installer stops responding after sometime.
The window shows "Preparing to remove... gathering required information". The progress bar is over 90% complete and stays there. After an hour I get message that this program is not responding. I waited 4 hours or so to see if unistallation fininshes, rebooted my machine and tried again, disabled the firewall and Norton Antivirus but nothing seems to work.
Please help!

Thank you! It worked. I installed 1.4.2.8_2 and unstalled it. After that I tried to uninstall the old one (1.4.8) and it uninsalled without any problem. Funny!

I am using RedHat Linux, the program is Java CoG. It seem like version 0.9.12 of CoG cannot work with SDK 1.4.0. Please tell me how to uninstall SDK 1.4.0 and it's runtime environment. Thank you.

    Hi,
    In my opinion, this is probably compatibility problem, however, it would be better to post this question at Windows Phone Development Forum for further assistance.

  • JAI (advanced imaging) cannot get it going!

    Hi,
    I cant seem to get it going!
    I have uninstalled sdk totally and reinstalled sdk and then jai but when i try to run i get
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/media/jai/PlanarImage
    at TestComponents.<init>(TestComponents.java:62)
    at TestComponents.main(TestComponents.java:155)
    It lets me compile the same file but not run it.
    I was told that I need to adjust my classpath variable, this now reads:
    C:\jdk1.3.1_08\jre\lib\ext\jai_codec.jar; C:\jdk1.3.1_08\jre\lib\ext\jai_core.jar; C:\jdk1.3.1_08\jre\lib\ext\mlibwrapper_jai.jar;C:\jdk1.3.1_08\jre\lib\;C:\jdk1.3.1_08\bin;.
    but it still wont work...
    can anyone help...I have an assignment to give in so i need some urgent advice.
    thanx

    Taimor,
    %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System3
    \Wbem;
    C:\jdk1.3.1_08\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\AUTODE~1;
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\
    I am running windows 2000.Hum.... change your path so it will have the jdk path as the first entry (even before the %SystemRoot% entries) and change your classpath to remove entries from the JAI. That should make Java recognize the jars that are on the ext directory.
    hope it helps, let us know

  • Uninstall Windows Phone 8.1 SDK Integration

    Somehow, Windows Phone 8.1 SDK Integration got installed on my Win7 box.  I can't develop anything for Win8 on that box.  How do I uninstall it, or what program do I uninstall to remove it.  It's not obvious
    in the Programs and Features list.  I'm tired of all the update notifications for something I can't use.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
    Welcome to VS general forum. But I am afraid that the issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses
    the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System

    Because your issue is how to uninstall Windows Phone 8.1 SDK which is not visible in

  • Bad installation of Java Platform Micro Edition SDK 3.0 - Can't uninstall

    Hi,
    I tried installing the Java Platform Micro Edition SDK 3.0 tonight and it didn't work (I guess the thing doesn't like it when you're running Win7 x64 with the latest JDK for some reason...). Anyways, it installed fine but on first run it got stuck at the nag screen with IOExceptions, etc. and never finished starting. So I decided to uninstall and guess what? I can't uninstall it because it tells me it can't run the uninstaller program since it can't load a win32 dll on a 64-bit machine...
    So I resorted to deleting the folder and running a registry cleaner :/ However, so I can properly clean things up, I'd like to know where else the SDK put files or dlls and which ones.
    Thanks for your help!
    -LordPhoenix

    I'm having exact the same problem, but I'm using Vista x64.
    I tried to uninstall x64 version of the Java SE SDK and installed the x86 version instead, but it didn't help :/
    So could please anyone post a solution to this.
    EDIT: actually I at least managed to uninstall it using the SE SDK x86.
    But still, is there any way to use Java ME SDK on Vista x64?

  • How to uninstall Java SDK 1.5.0_14

    Dear,
    I just installed a brand new Solaris 10 and latest patch cluster.
    Default on my system are the following 2 folders under /usr/jdk:
    j2sdk1.4.2_11 and jdk1.5.0_06
    I installed the Java SDK 1.5.0_14, but in the wrong destination folder.
    When I check my Java version with "Java -version"
    java version "1.5.0_06"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode)
    Why I don't have the latest one, the SDK 1.5.0_14 ?
    My question: I want a proper situation with only the Java SDK 1.5.0_14 installed.
    How do I remove Java SDK 1.5.0_14.
    How do I remove Java SDK 1.5.0_6
    Do I have to remove the 1.4.2_11 ?
    Thx guys...

    Thx for your answer...
    I want to have the installation of Java SDK 1.5.0_14 in a different location ?
    Can I just move the folder ?
    But I guess it's better to do uninstall and re-install it ?
    Right ?
    Thx in advance guys... (I'm not yet worked in in this stuff...)

  • Cannot uninstall Java2 SDK, SE v1.4.2_02 on win2000 SP4

    Hi,
    I cannot uninstall Java2 SDK, SE v1.4.2_02 on win2000 SP4. Follows the details.
    After opening "control panel", "add remove programs", selecting "java2sdk, SE v1.4.2_02" from the list, and clicking the "remove" button, the following happens:
    1) A window appears showing the text "Preparing to remove" ;
    2) A second window appears showing "Please wait while Windows configures java2 SDK, SE v1.4.2_02" and "Gathering required information";
    3) After some seconds, an error window appears: "Installer terminated prematurely";
    4) After clicking an "OK" button a second error windows shows: "Add/Remove program" title and the message "The I/O operation has been aborted, because either a thread exit or an application request".
    Any help, please? Some one knows a workaround or how to manually uninstall the j2sdk 1.4.2_02?
    Thank you in advance,
    Daniel

    OK,
    Fixed. After passing a ScanDisk to fix possible disk errors, the JSK uninstalled.

  • SDK uninstall problem

    Hello,
    I recently installed Java 2 SDK 2 v1.4_01 for Windows XP. I decided to change directories and uninstalled it using the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel. When I now try to reinstall, the extraction process goes fine but then a message appears saying that Java 2 SDK is already installed.
    I think that the uninstall was successful because some web pages give warnings that the Java VM needs to be installed.
    It seems that something is left in the System Registry (or somewhere else) showing that the Java is still installed. I need to reinstall Java but the process seems blocked. Any ideas or advice would be most appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Jeff Ratliff
    [email protected]

    Remove all the old directories that were added by the original install, open the Control Panel - Add/Delete Programs and check that "Java2 Runtime Environment" and "Java Webstart" are also gone- if not, remove them.
    If you did any of the above, do an install.
    If it fails again, search thru the Registry and clean it of "Sun" and "Javasoft" keys.

    If I was INSTALLING the sdk, I'd be patient enough to figure out how to get the 64 bit version if there is one, etc., etc., but I'm only just trying to UNINSTALL it. The fact that Java has made their uninstall executable dependent on things working properly is very irresponsible on their part, imho. After all, people usually uninstall because things are NOT working properly. Anyway, enough with the rant. Could someone please give me some instructions on how to uninstall the SDK without running into an error?
    Edit: I'm on Windows Vista 64 bit, and I have jre and jdk 6, not sure if they are the 32 or 64 bit version.
    Edited by: daarklord on Jul 28, 2010 10:46 AM

    I don't want to remove all registry files that have to do with java, because I have the normal java sdk which I want to keep. If the ME sdk was not meant for vista 64, the installation program should have caught that and prevented it from installing in the first place. the very least that Java support could do now is provide some instructions for manual removal. Anyway, I'm going to e-mail Java support because I'm getting no answers here. But I've checked other topics and I'm not alone in having this problem, so it would be useful if someone could offer a solution here, too.
