Unique load time of shipments in TP/VS. Is it possible?
Hi, friends!
Could anybody tell me one trick about TP/VS? I have got a hard constraint from business not to have two shipments with the same load time at one location, e.g. 09:00 & 09:01 are suitable, 09:00 & 09:00 are not. Is there any ideas or experience how to solve this issue?
Best reqards,
Dmitriy Karpov
Hi Dmitriy,
Use Macro with Tiem counter to supress the value.
There is no as such trick to do it through system.Only possible way what i have used is to use macro.
You can create Macro in Deployment stock transfer or at the time of generating TLB shipments.
Supress the values there.

Santosh

Long Load Times on Graphic Intensive Games
I'm experiencing some absurdly long load times (1-3 hours) with many games (SPORE, Portal, X:3, etc...) that I believe may be related to how graphically intensive they are. Older games with lower graphics quality (WoW, Civ 4, etc...) load up fine.
When I load any newer game the icon appears in the tray and the computer does nothing else for at least an hour, whereupon the program loads and begins playing immediately--often without any further delays or issues.
I also use Boot Camp to run Windows Vista (Ultimate 32) and experience no delays when running SPORE on Windows.
Below are my specs:

Dealing with a lot of images....Thinking about load time
I am designing a web site that has roughly 30 unique images per page. Each page has a photo gallery which swaps images in the main content area. Also, there are some other miscellaneous graphics that are reused on each page.
1) Should I create an images folder for each page or is there downside to having 200+ images in one folder?
2) Is there a way to see the size of a page (in mega bytes) and get a feel for the load time?
Thanks!
GaryIf it were me, I would create a new folder for each of the pages that have your 30+ unique images - that way they are all organised by page,I find that if you ever need to change them they are filed in a logical way and easier to maintain.
I would then have another folder containing all the images that will be used on all pages. Like header, logo, background images etc.,
Nancy has given you a link on how to best get a report on the file sizes used in your site.

Pick/pack time and loading time in route
HI People,
If I make entry in the shipping point that loading time and pick/pack time as route dependent then where do I enter these times in route as I didn't find any feild to enter these in routes. You can control scheduling by sales doc type & shipping point. Logical path - Logistic Execution-shipping-basic shipping function -scheduling-delivery scheduling & Transportation sch.
Trasportation planning will determine below mentioned fields.
Check-in
Loading start
Loading end
Shpmt completion
Shipment start
Shipment end.
Picking, packing will be controlled by delivery scheduling
give me ur email id will forward u the document for it

Java SP's - Initial Load Time!
FYI, We are running Oracle 8.1.7 on HP/UX 11.0 using Java Stored Procedures.
The Java stored procedures work fine (sub-second performance) after being loaded into memory, but the initial load time can be anywhere from 2 to 3 seconds. When you have 30+ Java stored procedures, the initial startup causes table locking and contention that will cause our app to crash.
Rewriting these Java SP's in PL/SQL shows that PL/SQL is immune to this initial load time (to a much lesser degree). Besides rewriting my application to read all of the Java SP's into memory before app startup, is there anything I can do on the Oracle server side to improve (or eliminate) load times for Java Stored Procedures?
Thanks!Hi Sonja,
maybe you can help me:
I want to map a portal role ( pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role) to a user. So I use the SAP Provisioning Framework with the Job "SetJavaRole&GroupForUser". But I get following exception:

In the "destination" tab of the job I entered the following values:
SPMLID SPML.SAPUSER.%MSKEYVALUE%
assignedroles $FUNCTION.sap_getSPMLRoles(%MSKEY%!!%$rep.$NAME%!!pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role)
I have no idea what's wrong in here...
Maybe you or someone else can help me...?! -
Single page application and page load time
I'm trying to instrument a "single page application" with Application Insights but it seems that there is not way to provide manually the performance data (page load time) when invoking the logPageView() method.
The single page application has a "unique page" and all views are displayed using internal routing feature without refreshing the main page once it is loaded. So the logPageView() method is invoked multiple times: one of each displayed view.
It means that the built-in performance counter (netCon, ..., ptotal) based on window.performance.timing.* do not make sense for this type of application, that should be based on manual computation of the time needed to render each view.
Is there any method to provide manually this information using logPageView() or separate method ? If not, is there any idea to fully support in the future the single page application ?
Thanks in advance,
MaurizioHello Maurizio,
Do you still have the same issue with the latest
AI in Azure Portal?
There should be new API layer with the ability to submit custom properties and metrics. This might work well for you scenario. AI nugets are still in preview, please, use "Show Prerelease" in VS when adding those.

Loading time - Delivery date question
Hi,
My delivery date is Loading date + 1 day even though I have specified the loading time hours to be zero for my shpping point.
All of the finished products in my company require 15 minutes or less to load so how can I make the Loading date = Delivery date?
Please help.
Sincerely,
PujaPuja,
Lead time in VOV8 only affects the proposed REQUESTED delivery date in the main screen of VA01. It has no impact on the actual scheduling of the shipment and the delivery.
I will assume that you are not using APO for shipment or delivery scheduling.
Your screen print indicates that you have zero days allowed for picking, packing, loading a shipment. You screen print indicates that no route was determined.
Your request to have loading date = delivery date is uncommon. Delivery date is generally accepted to be the date that you deliver the parts to the destination (customer location). I suppose if the customer is next door, it is not much of an issue. In this case you could just turn off Transportation scheduling altogether.
Check out all the configuration under Logistics Execution> Shipping>Scheduling>Delivery Scheduling and Transportation Scheduling. Examine each item in this block for details of how your dates are being determined. Make changes to fit your business requirements.
There are a number of factors that can affect transportation duration (difference between loading time and delivery time). Most of these are pretty well covered in https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/547961.

Loading Time in TPVS for entire MOT
Hi ,
I have an issue in TPVS planning. I have maintained Loading time based on Means of Transport in Condition "LOAD".Say Loading time is 4:00hrs.
After the optimisation run,in the planned shipment System is taking Loading time 4:00hrs for each freight unit rather than for entire Vehicle. For example,if i have 4 freight units in the Shipment,Total Loading time 16hours is being captured by system. It is understandable that since Transportation planning is based on Freight units in TPVS hence it is taking for each item. Is there any way to capture only 4:00 hours for entire Truck(means of transport).
Regards
Ahmed
Edited by: Aktar Ahmed Shaik on Feb 5, 2008 2:01 PMHi Ahmed,
TP/VS calls APO-scheduling per freight unit that is loaded or unloaded, and then the loading and unloading times will be calculated separately.
Although it's possible to influence the individual scheduling result by a BAdI, I don't think it's possible to get the desired result as during the call you never know how many freight units will be loaded onto the truck in total. For this reason it's not possible to distribute the total loading time per truck to the number of freight units that is loaded or unloaded.
For the optimizer it would of course be possible to update the loading/unloading durations in the shipments after they have been created, but as this will change the total duration for loading and unloading you will most likely end up with shipments that can not be posted to LC due to some resource capacity conflicts. I would not recommend to do this...
For me it looks like there's no way to achieve the desired result, especially not in standard.
To get to a solution that's at least close to what you want you could create some stepfunctions based on the capacity of the resource and the freight unit. However, if the resource will not be fully utilized this will lead to too small loading and unloading durations...
Regards,
Sebastian -
I just updated my RAM (replaced the two 2 gig cards with two Corsair 8 gig cards) and I keep getting a crash report. I have a 21.5 Inch mid 2010 imac. I also am experiencing slow load times with Photoshop and when I try to open Final Cut it says that quartz extreme is not compatible and that I have no VRAM even though I do.

The recommendation on here, mostly, is to only buy RAM from macsales.com or crucial.com as they guarantee their modules will work and offer a no quibble lifetime guarantee.
I'd put the original RAM back in, return the Corsair chips for a refund and re-order from one of those two companies.

Can a BIG form be served up one page at a time to avoid long load time?
Tricks I have read for optimizing the load time of large forms are not helping. Linearization causes the first page to render quickly, but you can't interact with the fields until the whole form finishes loading -- no help there. Is there a way to break the form into pages (without creating entirely separate forms) so the user can fill out a page, hit a Next Page button, fill out that page, etc.? Understood that this is an old school idea, but until Reader can download a 1+ MB form in less time than it takes an average user to get ticked off, old school might do the trick.
Alternatively, is there a way to construct a form so you can start interacting with it without having to wait for it all to load? This question comes from the (uninformed) assumption that maybe there are forward references that can't be satisfied until all the bits have come over the wire. If that's right, can a multipage form be architected so as to avoid this problem? No that technology does not exist yet. There are form level events that need to have the entire document there before they can fire. Also you would have to keep track of where you are so that would mean some sort of session information for each user.

Iceland site - load times ok?
Here is a site from our trip to Iceland. Are the image and movie load times ok?

Of course, any design suggestions welcome. Thanks.

TomBud, I know the corners look bad on a few shots. Believe me, I was kicking myself when I looked at the video for not being more careful. I tried putting in a matte in the corners, like little triangle pieces, but I think it detracted from the video more than the blemishes. -
Hello, I own a T420i and have been experiencing very slow load times on startup. The "ThinkPad" BIOS screen stays active for roughly 5-10min before continuing like normal. Once operational the computer works fine other then an occasional freeze up (which becomes extremely annoying with a boot time of 10 min).
Thanks for any suggestions.Hi Epitome, welcome to the forums,
do you have any external devices, especiall USB storage, attached to the system when booting? If so please detach them to see if you experience the same problem.
If the system boots normally please exclude the USB devices from the boot order in BIOS; the system may be scanning them for boot information before moving on to start from the main hard drive.

Improving load times in Linux LabVIEW executable
I'm looking for (simple) ways to improve the loading times in a Linux LabVIEW executable. We're using a low performance, low cost CPU board, and loading times are terrible. The CPU is capable of doing everything after the application is loaded, but takes forever to get there.
One of the problems is the size of the executable, that grows everytime you just look at it. Are there ways to create smaller executables? It runs from a Compact Flash card, which is ofcourse much slower than hard disk.
Another problem is a dynamic vi, that is started for every TCP connection that connects to the application. It takes a long time to load, and connecting too fast can even effectively hang up the system. Starting a handler task takes about half a second, up to a few seconds for the first task.

I'm
not sure about the first part of your question. LabVIEW is highly
binary and does a lot of memory allocations before even one VI is ready
to be started. So maybe the memory manager is a problem. Another issue
is that the Macintosh like resource file format that is used by LabVIEW to store its VIs etc. results in
lots and lots of individual disk accesses with a rther random like
character inside a single file. So if you can configure the read
caching of your disk to use more memory this may significantly increase
the speed of loading LabVIEW VIs or applications.
And finally spawning VIs through VI server is a rather costly operation
especially on low resoruce systems. A VI is more like an executable in
many ways as far as resource consumption is concerned rather than a
thread. A much better way would be to avoid spawning subVIs altogether
and implement a queued TCP/IP server similar to the Date Time Server
example. It is a little extra work to work with this shift register
architecture but it will not have the issues of long load times for
every new TCP/IP connection coming in.

Hi there -
Is there a good way to improve load times for my pages that have Edge animation? I have a very simple slide show set up, and even with the Preloader script, it's taking many seconds to load the page. Any thoughts?
Thanks!Hi Amy,
Did you try the suggestions in this article?

Long load times and poor application performance
We have packaged and deployed Adobe CC using SCCM within my school division. It pushed out fine, but now when we attempt to open Photoshop (or any other CC app) it has unusually long load times. 2-4 minutes. It seems to be hanging at the "Reading preferences" stage. After the application appears to have started, it takes an unusually long time to actually start working in the application (it appears to just hang).
Hello There,
EXE's always bundle additional files because it is a stand-alone entity. And, if the size 9GB then it will surely take time to load all the files. I'll check with the team again on how we can optimize it. BTW, are the videos inserted as slide video or Event video?
Thanks,
Vish
