Unistalled Safari

I was uninstalling stuff from my computer due to a lack of memory, and I removed Safari without realizing it had to do with iTunes. Now when I plug in my iPod, iTunes does not recognize it, and the iPod does not begin to sync like it normally does.
I think I might need to reinstall Safari? Or maybe even reinstall iTunes, but I'm afraid that I will loose all of my purchased music, tv shows, and movies. How can I fix this? Please help! I'm going on vacation soon and have a ton more stuff to do with my iPod
Thanks!

  • Safari will not load after installing OSX 10.7.5

I recently replaced the hard drive and reinstall MAC OSX 10.7.5 and migrated the the data successfully. Did all the software updates. All software and apps work except Safari. Safari will not open. I did a few of the recommended tips on the discussion boards on here but none of them has worked. I went to ~/library/Preferences and put the com.apple.safai.plist on my desktop and tried relaunching safari. Same issue. I unistalled Safari from my applications folder using appzaper and then reinstalled it. Still same issue. One tip was to restore the system. Unfortunetly this system does not have a time machine backup so that will not work. What other tips do you all suggest i try? I'm currently running Safari version 6.0.2

    First, delete the Safari application.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Reinstall Mountain Lion or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Safari 6 screwing up how webpages display

Is it me or has anyone else noticed that websites like banking are showing up all screw up in Safari 6? I can't use at all the latest Safari for my banking as buttons and windows are not longer visible or they are showing up overlapping with other fields making them not just impossible to click but impossible to navigate. Just frustrating... I haven't installed Mt. Lion yet as I'm very leery what other screw-up surprises awaits for users to get irritated and frustrated with. So, at this point I can't fully say I'm enjoying the new browser experience as I have to go and use competitor browsers to get things I need to get done which this latest 6.0 build does not allow me now to do. I've been looking for a plug-in or something but no luck
Anyone else on the same boat? Were you able to fix it?

So far all my banking websites. I just found out that my refriigerator is not working! So, I went into Safari 6.0 pulled the website of a local repair shop. Filled in their repair service form and when I click submit NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING happened! I pulled the Opera web browser and it worked like a charm! NO PROBLEMS. NO ISSUES. I'm just getting tired of this crap with Apple to be honest. It's so frustrating. And still with Safari 6.0 there is no way to sort automatically your bookmarks or sort them in alpha order manually... and this is supposed to be a state of the art browser? Really??? Can't use for what I'm finding business websites as I had in the past and still basic key features missing... Not happy at all. I'd wish I could unistall Safari 6.0 and go back to my reliable and working previous version.

  • How to install Safari 7

    Hi there,
I unistalled Safari from my macbook (OS X Mavericks) and now I can't find any link to download it back.
    Can you help me please?
    Thanks
    Martin

There is no download for Safari 7 : you need to replace it from a backup, or reinstall OS X from Recovery mode.
Back up first, although your files and applications should not be affected.

  • Safari 6 chewing up RAM!

Some sites I go to and the loading of these sites chews up all of the 16gb of RAM that are on my system. I thought I'd never see the day that my system would have to use swap files for Safari. Ever since the latest update I've noticed some slow-downs. I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem but it is rather annoying.
My system: 2011 MacBook Pro 120gb SSD 16 gb RAM 2.3ghz Sandybridge Running Lion.

  • Safari stuck in 10.7

First up, for reasons of massive stable media software use, I am staying in os 10.7.4.
That said I hit a nasty website on safari 5.1 which launched an unending array of browser windows with security warnings that locked safari making the preferences unavailable. I restart safari and it looks to the history, launching the cycle of insecure browser windows again.
Next step, remove all cookies and safari prefs to avoid the same problem after relaunch.
Problem? No cookies. No plist. Anywhere. I have done due diligence and scoured posts following instructions. I have manually searched all the libraries on my system as well as searched for all "safari" "cookie" and "plist" possibilities through the finder. Nothing. No cookie folder. No cookie file. Furthermore I cannot unistall safari as it will not allow. Nor can I upgrade as the available files seem to work only with snow leopard.
Really stuck on this one. Usually can sort these things out.
    Any help appreciated.
Again, moving out of 10.7 would require a hefty cost of software upgrades as well as the lost time of reinstalling software and troubleshooting, So there I am staying. It is only safari that is troubling me.

Is Safari still in that state, in which you cannot control it?

  • I need to configure Acrobat to display PDF files in Safari, but I have a lot of troubles to do it.I have OX S yosemite, I unistalled adobe acrobat, I closed safary and I installed the new version of adobe acrobat.

    Dear everyone
I need to configure Acrobat to display PDF files in Safari, but I have a lot of troubles to do it.
I read a european commission document explaining that
    http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/support/sep_usermanual.pdf
If Safari does not display pdf forms in the browser window, uninstall all older versions of Adobe Reader and download the most recent one. First close Safari and then install Reader. Launch Safari and you ought to be able to open the pdf files inside the Safari window. If you install Adobe Reader 10.1.x without first closing Safari, Safari will not display the pdf file inside its browser window until it is re-launched. For further help, please see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-safari-plug-acrobat-x.html
I have OX S yosemite, I unistalled adobe acrobat, I closed safary and I installed the new version of adobe acrobat
but when I open a web page that I need to allow me to display and modify PDF files it is not working.
I checked the following web page
    Troubleshoot Safari plug-in | Acrobat X, Reader X
    that is recommending the following:
The AdobePDFViewer plug-in is used to display PDF files in Safari using Acrobat and Reader.
This plug-in is installed as part of the Acrobat X or Reader X installation. The location of this plug-in is:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin
but after the new installation with this folder is completely empty and I am still
    unable to open these pdf.
Does anybody knows anything else I can do?
    Best regards
    Ramon

This forum is for people to discuss issues with other users. Apple aren't here. No one here can give you your money back. So, contact the the App Store support, if that's where you bought it. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store window.

  • Safari wont open at all

I just updated my safari last night and ever since i did it wont work. if i click the exe to open it i get the hourglass telling me its loading but then it just stops and nothing happens not even an error message. I've tried restarting my computer several times and also deleted and reinstalled Safari twice and nothing works. Im running on windows xp.

This morning I was opening different websites using safari, then my computer got frozen.. I had to turn it off and turn it back on. All of the sudden Safari quit working completely... My dear Safari is total DEATH.
When I click the Safari Icon to open the browser, immediately shows me an error message..
SAFARI HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE. WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
then.. the typical options of DEBUG, Send Error Report; and Don't Send Report..
whatever I do.. it just close the error window and thats it.. no safari at all..
I have unistalled, repaired, re-intalled Safari from the Apple website and nada!; used a System Restore to a previous date, niente!; dont know what else to do... and I need my Safari browers because I HATE EXPLORER !!
what can I do to get my Safari running again..
    thanx in advance

  • After installing update itune 10.5 will not open or run on windows 7 pc keeps telling me error 7 126 and that AVFoundationCF.dll failed to load. reinstall.I have done the complete 6part unistall 10 times now and each time I get the same thing anyone have

So I installed the latest update of Itune on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit PC.( the previous versions worked fine never a problem)
It installs, and comes up with error7 126. Reinstall program again.
So I go through all six steps to unistall, and reinstall a frsh downloaded compy of 64 bit Itune from Apple Site. and reinstall again and again, went through this process 10 times still having same problem, including now also comes up with AVFoundationCF.dll missing, try to install that won't install.
So now I can not use anything apple, iteunes, safari, update etc, nothing will work, which means I can no lobger sync or update my Iphone 4S.
Does anyone have an answer for me????

I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform.

  • What's the Successful Way of Taking Out Java Out Of Safari ?

Disabled Java in Safari Preferences .
Heck , Disabled Javascript too .
    Disabled Plugins .
    Disabled Extensions .
    i still get :
Macintosh HD  >  Library  >  Java  >  Extensions  >  ( unable to view , it's only viewable with a System Administrator ( ie root ) that i don't have the username and/or password for )
Macintosh HD  >  Library  >  Java  >  JavaVirtualMachines  >   ( unable to view , it's only viewable with a System Administrator ( ie root ) that i don't have the username and/or password for )
    Macintosh HD  >  Library  >  Internet Plug-Ins  >  JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
I have downloaded and updated OS X 10.8.3 Combo .
Java isn't listed anywhere in Systems Preferences .  But if i click on the .jar 's and other Java .app 's , i can get the consoles to launch .  I haven't tested if i can work it .  I don't want to .  I don't want it .  I didn't download it .  I didn't launch the .app either .
    Apple logo  >  System Preferences...  >  ( No Java icon ) .
In Safari , it doesn't matter if i config the Preferences a hundred times .  Safari after 5 to 10 seconds will load up the Reader in Blue highlight at the top right , which means some type of Adobe Reader is running in the background , which i haven't downloaded and installed and launched , also if i click it , it copies the webpage to a pdf look a like , which is pointless , and then i go back to the Internet Plug-ins and the Extensions in the Safari Preferences and it switches back in front of my eyes to what i set the configuration for .  Like a real-time config edit on the fly .  What is happening ?
As i write this Discussion Question , i am constantly being jumped around to write , as if ( if you have ever tested or used remote login and remote access ) there's a slight delay between you computer entry , and the result of the computer entry on the computer you're logged in to and remote accessing .  Strange .  Weird  .  Whatever you wanna call it  .  I got it  .  Very odd computer device behaviour .
Terminal and Terminal sudo su :
    java -version
    1.6 build
    Java 6
i have already gone thru both scenarios of :
Downloading the Apple Approved Java 2013-002 scenario .  Downloading , installing , launching , and then ultimately once i got it , Disabling it .  It shows up in System Preferences Other with the Java icon .  Also i have downloaded and installed the Java 7 latest Apple Approved Java , and Disabled it .
    Java still persists .
And then if i Delete the Java .app 's and plugin 's , etc , etc , etc , what happens is ultimately i get the infamous Apple Windmill for about 5 seconds , and then asks , you are attempting to make changes , so Enter in your Administrator username and password , and i do , and the System Administrator ( ie root ) user that has this access , i do not know , so i am essentially stuck with a OS X with missing Software that can't be unistalled / reinstalled / repaired , and then i must Clean Install OS X in Recovery since it's inoperable .

    And what's your thoughts on this ?      http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5701        http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5734
