Unit of measure and mb1a issue

Dear Experts,
In our plant we are using Tape BOPP for taping the Boxes. So please tell me if we want to use unit of measurement as EA then what should we mentioned the component qty for one box in EA. At present our company has maintained the component qty as 0.4 EA for 1 box.
And following the conversion factor which are maintained in mm01 through additional data screen.
1 ROL     = 1 ROL
65 meter = 1 ROL
1 EA       = 1 ROL
But while doing mb1a system is taking the qty as 1 EA instead of 0.4 EA. please suggest how to overall this problem.
Regards,
Phalgun patel

The problem is that reservation is always made in the basic unit of measure (EA), which have no decimals in the standard SAP.
You must choose between:
a) using the smaller unit of measure (meters) as suggested by SAP, and EA an altenative UoM
b) define a new UoM called ED or similar (transaction CUNI), which a copy of EA but allowing decimal places.

  • Unit of Measure for Cases issue

    Hello all,
We are working with APO as the source system. In one of extractions we are getting cases information and the unit maintained there is CV. Now when i am trying to load the data into BW it is saying that for CV SID generation problem. When i checked the T006 table there when I give CV in the unit of measurement and display the content it gives me a record with CS. When i check the SPRO setting for unit of measurement, I found there is an entry wherein Unit is CS, Commercial Unit is CV. Now if i want to resolve this issue what is procedure i need to follow.

Try reload units of measure from source system and do correspondin cheks for 0UNIT in RSRV transaction

  • Proposal.:.Multiple Purchase Unit of Measure and pricing

The objective of this message is to start a discussion around procurement unit of measure and pricing.
Currently, some of our clients are facing the following limitation:
    - They stock an item in a specific unit of measure (let say metre)
    - They buy in a different unit of measure (let say unit).
In this scenario, we have a conversion factor of 6 for example so when we order 1 unit, the system will stock 6 metres.
The issue is that the pricing in SAP Business One for procurement is expressed in stocking unit of measure. It means that we do not have any possibility to enter the price by unit. For example, if in my purchase price list I enter $10 for one unit, on the purchase order, SAP will calculate if I buy 1 unit: $10 x 6 = $60. This is obviously wrong.
The second issue is that I can buy the same product from 3 suppliers but in 3 different UoM (one supplier will sell it in unit, another one in metre and another one in pack of 10). The system can not accomodate this business scenario.

    Vincent

quite late, but I faced the same issue with a window-maker company. They buy alumium bars (different lenghts) and keep them and worked them in meters.
What we do was use the Production module, and define a new BoM item (bar_meter), so when they buy 1 bar (6.4 meters) and they want to use it, they create a production order to create 6.4 new bar_meters. Then they used as many meters as needed to make the window.

while executing a session, I get the message 'Please check units of measure and conversion factor', what does it indicate? there are fields like order unit, conversion (purchasing) in creating info records transaction ME11.

in bdc when ever u r working with quantity and price fields it is better to move this fields in to string and do the concatenation kind of stuff..............

  • Alternate unit of measure and its impact on CO module

    Hi
We are in CPG company, our client has decided to use CAR (i.e. Carton) as base unit of measure and TO (tonnage) as alternate unit of measure. CO users and client management wants to run planning, allocation and CO-PA analysis in TO (tonnage).
Some of activities like cost estimates will be run using CAR. We have come to know that we might have to use COPA0005 enhancement.
We need to know how it will impact CO module as TO is not base unit of measure for finished goods?
    Thanks in advance.
    Chris

Thanks Ajay for your reply. My point is that we need to know the impact on CO module because our Client will use CAR (carton) as base unit of measure and CO users have to use TO (tonnage) for planning, allocation,  profitability analysis, etc.
We will define the UoM conversion relationship in material master, say 1 TON = 125 CAR.
We have come to know that cost estimate can only be run using base unit of measure (i.e. CAR) so client will have to run cost estimate using CAR.
What about other functionality like allocations, planning, CO reports, etc. What will be the impact on CO module as TO is not the base unit of measure and our client have to use TO for allocations, reporting, CO-PA, etc.

  • Dual Unit of Measure and valuation problem in SAP for Diamond module

    1. Handling of Dual Unit of Measure. In case if you take Diamond Jewellery, which is having Gold portion as well Diamond portion, we would like to keep UOM for gold portion as Grams and Carats for Diamond portion. As informed by our implementation team (Wipro), handling dual UOM for the same article seems to be not possible in SAP due to product limitations. As this feature is very basic for jewellery industry, we would like to know how SAP can address this business need in SAP.
    2. We would like to show Gold & Diamond separately in Valuation for the same article, which is again seems to be product limitation.
As the above 2 issues are fundamental elements in our business, please look into the above issues and give us some solution immediately.

    Mr.Rao,
Although I do not much about your business needs and the processes that you are configuring, this is what I understand from your explanations:
    1. You design and make jewellery out of Gold and Diamonds. Here I believe that the designer would be knowing how much of Gold and Diamond will go into the making of a jewellery.
    2. You would like to valuate the stock based on the gold/diamond gone into each. Each piece of jewellery is unique in itself as its contents may minutely vary for the gold content.
In such a situation, I would suggest considering configuring Variant Configuration. With this, you will be able to maintain different values of diamond/gold for each piece of jewellery at the time of Sales Order/Production Order/Prod.Order confirmation etc. Your manufacturing cost will be at actuals based on the consumption posted during the Prod.Order confirmation. Each piece of jewellery will be unique with few Material Masters.
    Hope this helps.

  • Alternate unit of Measure and tolerances

    Hi,
Is it possible to map alternate UoM like 1 EA= 100-110 KG.
I.e. the if weight of my component is between 100 to 110 KGs then the equivalent in UoM EA is 1.
    Prashant

    Hi,
Its not possible to maintain the alternate unit of measure as a range...the conversion has to be done in exact numeric terms...no scales....

  • Illustrator CS4 measurements and alignment issues

When I create any object to a specific dimension (say a square that is 5" x 5") the dimensions in the transform pallet are always smaller than 5" x 5" and never the same each time I create a new object. When I try to correct the size by typing in my dimensions in the transform pallet (width and height) the dimensions change but they do not reflect what I just typed in. If I try to correct the size a second time the dimensions finally reflect what they are supposed to be. I've been using Illustrator since 1988. I just upgraded to CS4 from CS3. I've never had a problem with inaccurate dimensions. This is a waste of my time. Can some one tell me why this is happening? Is this just another bug that has yet to be fixed? Or is there a setting that will fix this issue?
Another problem that I'm having is with "Aligning" two objects that butt again each other. For example... draw two boxes and align one side so that one edge is exactly on top of the other edge. Ok... I can do this by turning on smart guides and dragging one edge on top of the other. However, my problem is with the Align pallet "Distribute Spacing". In Illustrator CS3 you can select two objects, then select your target object to align to. When you click on distribute spacing in the align pallet the two object edges are perfectly aligned. CS4 does not seem to to do this anymore. Can some one explain why?
Just to be clear for those who like to read into things.... 5" x 5" is just an example. So pick a number. The dimensions are never correct.
    I'm using a Mac with OSX 10.5.8.
    Thanks!

Don't think it could be corrupt preferences. I've tried trashing the prefs as well as reinstalling CS4.
I've noticed that it has something to do with an object that has a stroke. If I create a new box without a stroke then then my initial measurements are correct. However if I add a stroke my measures change according to the stroke weight. I've looked for ways to turn this off, but can not seem to find anything. I think this problem has something to do with the over all appearance of things.
Which lead me to another issues I'm having.... What happened to the "Filter" menu? When I try to round corners on a rectangle it applies the round corners as an effect "appearance". I have to expand the appearance in order to the corners to actually be rounded. Why did this change? I want to change the actual object the first time I create it and not take extra steps. This can waste a lot of time. I think this same issue is what is going on with the stroke weight. I don't want my object size to increase when I increase my stroke weight. If I did want this, I would create outlines. Can this be turned off? If not, I will have to continue using CS3 until Adobe fixes this problem.

  • Reservation Creation in Issue Unit of Measure

    Hi,
I have a product whose component has Base Unit of Measure as EACH and Issue unit of Measure is  PIECE. ( 5 Piece = 1 Each) .In BOM we maintain as PIECE and in Work Scheduling view of materialMaster issue unit is maintained as PIECE.  Now the issue is, when I create an order reservation is created in EACHs. (Base Unit of Measure) and same appears in Stock requirement list also.
If my Order issue Qty. is 2 PIECEs but still Reservation will be created for 1 EACH ( 5 Pieces) which upsets the requirement figure for the components.
Please suugest me if there are any ways out so that Reservation is created for Issue Unit of Measure so that correct quantity of measure can be seen....
    Thanks in advance

Not sure whether it will help you.
Have you maintained the relationship in MM in Additional uom tab.
Also check t code CUNI if any conversion factor you can mention there.

  • Material Master MATMAS IDOC and base unit of measurement

    Hi
We are using SAP standard material master IDOC type MATMAS05 to trigger IDOC. Our material master is having base unit of measure as "G". We are not using ISO unit of measurement. But Material master IDOC, segment E1MARM is populating base unit of meaurement (MEINS) as "GRM".
Any idea why IDOC is picking ISO unit of measurement instead of material master base unit of measurement.
Any idea how to send base unit of measurememt as "G" instead of "GRM" in DOC segment.
    Thanks
    Nilesh

There are ISO codes for country keys, currency keys, units of measure and shipping instructions. According to SAP design guidelines, you should use ISO codes for an IDoc if they are available. When you set up the IDoc, the SAP codes have to be replaced by ISO codes.

  • Base and alternate unit of measure

    HI,
    can anyone please tell me
    1) what is base unit of measure and alternate unit of measure.
    2) what is the relationship between these two.
i have one program which currently calculates base unit of measure for all the unit costs and now i need to calculate the alternate unit of measure for all the unit cost
I heard that relationship of these two will be found in MARM table but i couldnt find it
Please tell me how do i do achieve it.
    Thanks,
    Ahmed.

    Hi,
BASE UOM is the unit of measure which will be used by business to calculate the weight of the goods or rather the Unit of measure in which stocks of the material are managed.
Say for example I create one bulb. The base UOM is PCE or Piece.
It means that the Bulb will be referred to as 1 Piece irrespective of its weight.
So if in the sales order i put 10 PCE of Bulb it means 10 individual unit of the bulb.
Alternative UOM is the Unit of measure in which quantities can be entered alternatively to the base unit of measure / stockkeeping unit.
Say for example in our cases; we are selling these bulbs in boxes.
    I BOX = 10 PCE .
So BOX becomes your alternate UOM.
The relation is maintained in MARM table via the additional view in the Material Master (MM01/ MM02/ MM03 transaction)
The relation 1 : 10 is managed by the UMREN UMREZ fields in MARM.
I hope this is useful for you.

  • Unit of Measure BOX not defined in language DE

    Hi Experts,
We have a Unit of measure BOX, it is used in a Purchase Requisition.
When converting this PR to PO the vendor entered has the language German(DE) and system throws out an error message mentioned in the subject.
I have checked in SPRO under UOM settings and found that this has been maintained for all the languages the path I have checked is SPRO --> SAP NetWeaver  -->General Settings  -->  Check Units of Measurement -->  ISO Units --> Select the UOM (BOX) and then in Menu options (Goto --> Translation).
Can anyone help me out what can be the other possible reasons.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Regards
    Lucky.

    Dear Lucky,
Normally this issue happens because a missing entry for unit in transaction CUNI.
To maintain this, enter the transaction: CUNI
Click "Unit of Measurement" and maintain the following as below.
    Unit           : XX
    Commercial     : XX
    Technical      : XX
    Meas.unit text : Activ.unit
    Please review SAP Note No.[15430|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/15430]

  • Requirement in alternative unit of measure

    Hi,
A material is maintained with EA as Base unit of measure and alternative unit of measure is maintained as 100m=1 EA. when MRP  is run, the requirement appears in EA and not meteres. The issuing UOM is maintained as M in plant/storage view. Is there a way to have the uom for the requirement in the reservation to be in Meteres.
    thanks

    Dear
Please check in BOM, routing according to the same UOM.
And in Stock reqyuirement list MDO4 click on the Settings there u ll find the general settings under that tab u find the UOM
basuunit of measure and alternate unit of measre in that u ll find the list
    With regards
