Units of measure are different

Hi friends,
I am trying to reverse the material document and its giving me erros as below please suggest how to solve this
Units of measure LB / EA are different
Message no. M7182
Diagnosis
The stockkeeping unit contained in the material document to be cancelled is not the same as the stockkeeping unit contained in the material master record. However, a document can only be cancelled if the stockkeeping units are identical.
System Response
In this case, the system will not cancel the material document.
Procedure
To carry out the reversal, re-enter the given transaction using the relevant reversal movement type.
Regards
Vishal

Hi,
Sales Unit is basically Unit of measure in which the material is sold. A value in this field significes that you want to use a unit of measure differing from the base unit of measure.
If the field does not contain an entry, the system will assume that the unit of measure is the base unit of measure.
Whereas, Base Unit of Measure in which stocks of the material are managed. The system converts all the quantities you enter in other units of measure (alternative units of measure) to the base unit of measure.
You define the base unit of measure and also alternative units of measure and their conversion factors in the material master record.
Now, if you change Sales Unit (as you can't Change Base unit of Measurement*), System will prompt the canged Sales Unit as an alternative to BaseUoM at time of Sales Doc. Creation.
IMP: You can't change UoM in Sales Doc, once subsequent processes are carried-out.
Best Regards,
Amit.

    Hi,
when material replication process is happening we came across an error in SMW01.It shows
Alternative units of measure are inconsistent; correct the values
    Message no. COM_PRODUCT_UNIT014
    Consider the below example
we have maintained a material from KG to MM which is not a standard SAP conversion but client requires this conversion as
Tubes (Steel) are mainly ordered in M (Meters) but invoiced by the supplier in KG. Then used in production in KG again. In that case we need a conversion M <-> KG.
This is very common practice even in indirect material (e.g. Oil, you order barrels, tu vendor invoices KG and you handle Liters in your stock
can anyone guide me if there is any BADI or SAP note available for this error.

I have gone through that note it says that the corrections has to be done at BBPCRM component level but i have gone through the system component version i did not find CRM

  • Base unit of measure is different from Idoc to purchase order toSAP System.

    Hi Gurs,
vendor send a purchase order for confirmation through EDI, the base unit of measure in the Idoc is PA( Parcel). For this same material the unit of measure in R/3 system is PC.( Piece). I got a error on this.I checked in CUNI, In Unit of measurement ST (PC) is already assigned to  unit PCE in EDI. But i dont want to change the  Conversion.I need this also and I want to create a new conversion ST(PC) is assign to PA( Parcel).
    Please help in this.
Is it possible to maitainthe ISO-code PA into table Units of Measurement of Dimension?
Edited by: Vadivel Karalam on Nov 1, 2010 1:13 PM

    Hi,
You are getting the error because as part of the std ( For ALE/EDI) the unit of measurement that is maintained is PC whereas if you look at another unit of measure that you have mentioned, the std doesn't define anything under the ALE/EDI setup.
Because of that all the conversions are coming with PC. So pls goto general settings and check unit of measure menu. There for each of your units, there is a section for ALE/EDI, set up the relevant UoM and the issue should get resolved.
    Hope it helps.

    Hi Reiko,

  • Reporting in Different Planning Unit of Measures

    Dear Gurus,
I have a requirement where in the trasnaction happens at EACH and the users want to view the reports at the planning unit of measure. The different conversion factors for planning unit of measure are maintained as part of the product master. The product master contains the planning UOM as an attribute and the conversion factor as a key figure attribute. As of BW 3.5 i know that the alternate unit of measure is the funcationality which can handle this multiple units of measure functionality. But the white paper says that this functionality is available as a standard functionality in BI7. Can any one help me out in handling this scenario.
Please also guide me as what i need to carry out before i start the actual development on this.
    Regards
    Vijay

Upon further review I noticed that the Unit dimension is being correctly populated when the value is a monetary amount. For example $100 CAD, the CAD is populated in the Unit dimension for this key figure. The distance measurements (all KM) don't have anything.
The UOM is present in both key figures in the bex query when run in Bex Analyzer.

    Thanks for the response.
But the Unit is not fixed for D. there are number of transaction takes place and accordingly the units are. That is why I can not hard code it.

  • Multiple units of measure

    Dear all MM experts,
I have one semi finished goods which having two units of measure.I m giving one example as per the client business process.
One artificial cubicle stone is being manufactured of weight 8.00 metric tonnes. In one production order @ 20 stones are
manufactured. When the production gets completed, the weight cannot be same for each stone. It is like 7.9 tonnes,8.1 Tonnes.7.96 tonnes,7.5 Tonnes and so on. means all 20 stones have different weight.
Now in this case if i decide to keep base unti of measure for stone is "each", then  where should i take the "weight" factor? as
for stones, two units of measure are given one is "each" and another is "tonnes" in client excel system.
and moreover the another measurement i.e. length, breadth, and height are also mentioned for the cubic stones after manufacturing , so during GR after production how will i make all these entries like each, tonnes, length, breadth and height  on single SAP screen? what should be my base unit of measure in this case? Client also want the stock report of all these measurement factors.
please guide me how to map this process?

    Hi Ravi,
This is already addressed by SAP .This functionality is called Batch specific unit of materials .kindly go through the following blog which will give you step by step guide to configure the same. Material code will be 1 but each piece will be treated as Batch and each will have different weight.

  • Problem with Unit of measurement

    Hi,
I am having problem with Unit of measurement with different languages.
    Eg:
In SPRO, I am able to see the unit of measure T3 Description: (Trading unit).  in SAP 200 client .the logon language is EN(english).
But if I logon into same client(200) with different language DE(german) version, I am not able to see the description in German, the description field is blank.
Kindly give me a solution for this problem as it is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Shankar

    Hi Aishwarya,
I can think of 2 possibilities:
    1. You need to verify passing the Target UoM with the ISO Code as well as the update flag in the 'X' structures.
    2. The material that you are trying to pass some UoM does not have the conversion maintained in the Material Master. (Base UoM --> Target UoM conversion in Material Master, contact Functional Consultant).
Also, if you can verify by performing the action manually and check if the Sales Order is getting created manually with the Target UoM .

    Pranav.

  • Unit of Measurment

    Hello
Can any one help me to understand the meaning/significance  of diffrenet  Units of Measures  found in the material master
    regards
    Narendra

    Hi,
    Alternative Units of Measure
In addition to the base unit of measure, used by the system in managing stocks and carrying out all its computations, other departments can use their own units of measure.
All units of measure other than the base unit are known as alternative units. The following are examples of alternative units of measure:
    Order unit
Unit of measure in which a material is ordered. It is the default unit in purchasing functions.
    Order price unit
Unit in which the vendor invoices you. The order price unit is defined in the purchase order or in the purchasing info record. If you have defined an order price unit in the PO, the goods receipt will be recorded in both the order unit and the order price unit.
    Sales unit
Unit of measure in which a material is sold. It automatically appears as the default in a sales order and can be changed there.
    Unit of issue
Unit of measure in which a material is issued from the warehouse/stores. You can use this unit of measure in conjunction with goods issues and physical inventory activities.
Any quantities that you specify in a unit of measure other than the base unit are automatically converted into the base unit by the system. To make this possible, you must enter the ratio for conversions between alternative units and the base unit (the conversion factor) in the material master record. You can enter this information when specifying the alternative unit of measure.
    Variable Units of Measure
In the material master record, you can specify that the material can be procured in a unit of measure that differs from the order unit.
If the material can be ordered in more than one unit of measure, enter 1 in the Variable order unit field.
This setting is then adopted in the purchasing info record and allows you to enter an order unit that differs from the one in the purchasing info record when creating or maintaining a purchase order or source list.
If you do not allow a variable order unit in the material master record, you must use the order unit from the material master record.
If you wish to specify a different order unit for a purchase requisition, you must assign a source with a different order unit to the requisition.

    Chinna

  • Alternate Unit of Measure with several Qty KF's

    Case is as follows:
3 different plain KFs related to qty. Sales volume, net weight anddelivery qty.
All need to be dispalyed in the same report. All have different base unit of measure.
I have only one variable [YTAUNIT) for entering required unit.
Now if I enter all KFs using this same YTAUNIT variable for them each separately I get error message on the query that this is not permitted.
How should I change the structure ?
    - add new variable for each KF ? (YTAUNIT1, YTAUNIT2, .....) -> do I need to change any of the ABAP codes? is there a link only picking YTAUNIT ?
Please can You give me an example (detailed) how to proceed ?
    Thanks in advance
    Petri

    Hi,
I have worked on single variable But from the understanding of working I feel you need to create three diff variable (input var) YTAUNIT1, YTAUNIT2 ect Because they are on same base unit of measure with different units of measures. And you will have to take corresponding variable for every key figure in the calculated KF.
    Just try with different variables.
    Assign points if it helps.

  • Error message  "Enter the unit of measure" in WebClient ???

    Hello Experts,
We are working on CRM 5.0 SP 7, IC WebClient and have implemented the BAdi "CRM_SERVICEPROD_BADI" to assign a service product ''INVESTIGATION' whenever user selects service ticket in WebClient.
However, when confirming a Business Partner and accessing the service ticket, an error is getting displayed stating "Enter the unit of measure".
We have already mentioned the unit of measure in Product but it seems it is not picking from there.
Please help me to remove this error.
Reward points assured for useful answers.
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Amit
Gerhard is 100% correct. Please make sure that your unit of measures are maintained on the product master(trans COMMPR01).
Use the code below in CRM_PRODUCT_I_BADI to set uom.
      if cs_product_i_badi-process_qty_unit is initial.
        cs_product_i_badi-process_qty_unit = 'EA'.
        cs_product_i_badi-process_qty_num = 1.
        cs_product_i_badi-process_qty_den = 1.
      endif.
Also, you will find you get error to specify product quantity. This can be done in badi CRM_SCHEDLIN_BADI with code below.
    if is_schedlin_wrk-quantity is initial.
       cs_schedlin_badi-quantity = 1.
    endif.

  • Internal Unit of measurement in J1ILIC01

    Hi,
While creating Deemed Export Licence thru T.Code J1ILIC01, I came across one issue that when I enter the Material Number it only pics the description of material. However, the UoM is not picked automatically.
When I tried to put it manually, it will not accept.
It only accept the Internal Unit of measurement instead of Commercial Unit of measurement.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Marcin,
Just to clarify from my side, even though the error occured only for one UOM,no unit of measurement are available.
    Does your solution still apply?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Unit of measure in the Special purpose ledger .

Unit of measure in the Special purpose ledger .
The sales invoice posted in to the system is having two unit of
    measure fields.
    a. Base unit of measure - which is getting into BESG_MEINS AND
BSEG_MENGE (Example data EA and 120)
    b. Unit of entree - Which is getting into BSEG_ERFME AND BSEG_ERFMGE
    (Example data (CS and 10)
In special purpose ledger we like to see base unit of measure
    consistanty for all the doucments.
but we found that in special purpose ledgers values under base unit
of measure are colleted from unit of entree fields.
I verified the fixed field movement configuration where our special
purpose ledger fields are receiving from fields "MEINS and MENGE" of
sender table which is base unit of measure.
but the figure inside it is from Unit of entree which is from ERFME
    and ERFMGE.
Please advise us how to get Base unit of measure values consistantly
    for all the documents.
    your help is highly appreciated.
    thanks
    Rathanraj

these assignments can only be deleted logically in the corresponding transactions for processing the routings. For the user, they are no longer displayed, but they still exist in the database. The material master can only be changed after the routing has been reorganized.
please read OSS Note 60386 - Deleting the material allocation to routings

  • Unit of measure in External requirement

    Hi experts
When the requisitions are created in R/3 the unit of measure of the product is Base Unit of Measure and not Order unit, so the requisitions are transfered to SRM with the Base Unit of Measure but the material has in Purchassing an unit diferent unit of measure but the system not takes it in account, how can ensure the POs are created in SRM with the unit of measure of the material master Purchasing vision?
    Thanks
    Nilson

Hi. I am not sure if there is a better way, but units of measure are stored in SRM in table COMM_PR_UNIT.
You could use the BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI method BBP_PO_CHANGE to read the alterante unit and carry out the conversion.
    Regards,
    Dave.
