Unity 7.02 maximum message length only 30 secs

Unity 7.02 maximum message length is approx 30 secs regardless of the settings in sys admin.
Has anyone encountered this issue?

Hi Peter,
It sounds like you may be running a Demo License;
Limits on a Cisco Unity Demonstration System
Depending on the type of license file you use-Default License File or Time-Limited License File-the Cisco Unity demonstration system will have the limits listed below.
Default License File
•10 languages
•2 RealSpeak text-to-speech (TTS) sessions
•10 mailboxes for one of the following subscriber types:
-Unified Messaging (UM) subscribers
-Voice Messaging (VM) subscribers
•10 Cisco Unity Inbox subscribers
•2 voice ports
•2 voice-recognition sessions
•30-second limit for messages
•The ability to integrate with any supported phone system
Time-Limited License File
The time-limited license enables either Unified Messaging (UM) or Voice Messaging (VM) with the following limitations:
•UM feature package
-50 UM subscribers with 16 sessions
-2 RealSpeak text-to-speech (TTS) sessions
-2 languages
-AMIS
-16 voice ports
-2 voice-recognition sessions
•VM feature package
-50 VM subscribers with 16 sessions
-2 RealSpeak text-to-speech (TTS) sessions
-2 languages
-25 Cisco Unity Inbox users
-16 voice ports
-2 voice-recognition sessions
The time-limited license includes the following additional limitations:
•Time limit (after which Cisco Unity stops handling calls)
-60 days
-90 days
•Only one license file on the Cisco Unity server is permitted
•Non-renewable
•Locked to the specific MAC address of the network interface card (NIC) on the Cisco Unity server
•The ability to integrate with any supported phone system

• Unity 7.0 Unified Messaging Licensing Problem

We have just purchased an upgrade from Unity 4.0(5) to Unity 7.0(2) and a new server.
On the old server we have 310 ordinary voicemail only subscriber licenses as well as 310 unified messaging subscriber licenses and we are currently using only the 310 voicemail subscriber licenses.
On the new server we have bought upgrade licenses and the new license is showing 310 unified messaging subscriber licenses but 0 voicemail only subscriber licenses.
We are therefore getting an licensing violation message immediately after installing Unity on the new server and importing the new license as the server is saying that it is using 1x voicemail only subscriber license when we have none available.
How do I get the server to use the unified messaging license instead of the voicemail only license as there was no option for Unified during installation?
Is there a way to change the existing user accounts from using voicemail licenses to unified licenses please when I import them using DIRT restore or COBRAS import?
Many thanks!

Hi Rob, sorry for the delayed reply I haven't logged onto here for a few weeks. I don't think we've lost any licenses.
After a nightmare with Cisco licensing we finally managed to get the correct migrated Unity 4.0 licenses for our new server. They sent them in several files for some reason, but I found a combination of 4 of them that gave the correct license count that matched the licenses on our old server.
The licenses we have on the Unity 4 system are as follows:

Now I am trying again to upgrade this system to 7.0, but this time it's an in place upgrade as we're now on the new server hardware already.
As I understand it we just need to add the extra upgrade license to the already installed 4x Unity 4.0 licenses during the upgrade correct?
When I try this, however, it increments the license features as follows:

Is this the correct number of licenses that should be showing? We were only expecting to have 310 UM licenses and 32 voice ports. I also tried just using the upgrade license on it's own but this doesn't work as there are 0 "Cisco Unity Subscriber" licenses in it so we get a licensing violation error.

• Maximum record length in internal table?

Is there a maximum record length in an internal table?  Please note:  My question is NOT related to table space.  I'm referring only to the length of an individual record (A.K.A. row length).
I am using a work area to insert data into an internal table.  Both the work area and internal table are defined by the same structure.
The structure has a total length of 672 bytes.  For the sake of this discussion I'll point out that at the end of the structure, bytes 669, 670, 671, and 672 are four separate fields of 1 character each.
When viewing the work area record in the debugger I'm seeing all the fields and all the values.  When viewing the internal table in the debugger after a record is inserted, the internal table ends with the field defined at Byte 670.  The internal table does not include the two fields defined at Bytes 671 and 672.
Am I to assume from the above explanation that the length of a record ( A.K.A. row) in an internal table cannot exceed 670 bytes?
Thank you.

Manish,
False alarm!  While, technically, you didn't answer my question, your request for code ended up helping me answer my own question.
To provide you with some code I wrote a simple test program using the record layout referred to above, with a DO loop to put some records into the internal table, followed by a LOOP AT, with accompanying WRITE statements to display the contents of the internal table and demonstrate that the last two fields weren't being stored.
However, when I ran the test program, the last two fields were being displayed.
It was at that point, when stepping through the debugger that I noticed the scroll arrows above the last column of my internal table that allowed me to scroll to the right and see my final two fields.
Apparently, because of the large number of fields in my internal table I had reached the default display length of the debugger.  While I was obviously aware of the scroll bar found at the bottom of the display, I had never worked with an internal table of that width in the past and hadn't even noticed the scroll arrows above the last column before.
Thanks for taking the time to respond helping me get to the solution.

Hi Ahdir,
First of all check the URL in your receiver SOAP adapter. The error comes from the web service server. It says that the request message is wrong.
U have to fill field SOAPAction in the receiver soap adapter
U may find the related information here

• Maximum message size for internal users

Hi,
Is it possible to configure a maximum message size for internal users and also create exceptions?
The templates available in Transport Rules only allow for "when size of any attachment is greater or equal". This is not ideal as users can add 50 X 1MB attachaments to an email etc.
Configuring Transport settings or Receive Connectors do not allow for exceptions.
Thank you.

Hi Prakash,
Thanks for the link to the thread. The AD site link configuration is valid but does not account for the required exceptions. E.g User A can send unlimited size message to User B but not to User C.
The thread also mentions the Transport Rule configuration stated in my original post but that configuration has one major flaw. Users can circumvent the control by splitting attachments.

• Maximum request length exceeded

I'm trying to upload a file to mobile services .NET backend, however I'm getting the error "Maximum request length exceeded". I tried increasing the limit in web.config file, but it only worked on the local version and still throws the error when
published to Azure.
As far as I understand the mobile services is ignoring the web.config file. So is there any other way to increase the upload limit?

good news.. found a fix for this.
it's actually the same fix for file uploads that exceed the default 4mb set by IIS. however, the change needs to made to the report manager web.config file and not the report server web.config file. that's why it didn't work for me the first time.
here is an article that talks about it http://support.softartisans.com/kbview_825.aspx
if you have kept the default installation directory, the file you edit is:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Web.config
Just add the maxRequestLength property here and set a size appropriate to you. Not to large to discourage DoS attacks.
The example below is 10mb
<httpRuntime executionTimeout="9000"  maxRequestLength="10240"/>
hope it helps.

• ORA-01450: maximum key length exceeded

Hi I get this error when trying to migrate MS Access 2000 to Oracle. I get this error on foreign key and primary keys saying that the maximum key length has been exceeded.
What does this mean and how can I fix it? Can anyone help?
Thanks
Ray

Maximum key length also depends on tablespace block size. It seems that your value (1942) may be for 2K blocks.
At least for my 10.2.0.1.0 on Windoze it takes
1478 for 2k tablespace
3118 for 4k tablespace
6398 for 8k tablespace
If you have 2K blocks I'd say it is somewhat rather small blocks, I'd normally use 8K blocks.
So if you have possibility (have at least version 9, probably 9.2 don't know exactly) to create tablespaces with non default blocksize then as a temporal solution you can create tablespace with larger blocksize and create index in it.
Of course so you have to allocate also some memory for these blocksizes and so divide your memory in possibly less utilized pieces.
See example for my 8k default blocksize test DB:
SQL> create table v (a varchar2(4000), b varchar2(4000), c varchar2(4000));
Table created.
SQL> insert into v values (lpad('a', 4000, 'a'), null, null);
1 row created.
SQL> create index vidx on v (a, b, c);
create index vidx on v (a, b, c)
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01450: maximum key length (6398) exceeded
SQL> alter system set db_16k_cache_size = 10240;
System altered.
SQL> create tablespace big datafile 'big.dbf' size 10 m blocksize 16k;
Tablespace created.
SQL> create index vidx on v (a, b, c) tablespace big;
Index created.

• I sporadically can't use certain Google features (Gmail, Documents, Calendar, etc.). The error I always get is "SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long"

SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long
I get the above message often (but not always) when trying to access my Gmail account, Google docs, calendar, etc. There's really no rhyme or reason for when it works vs. when it doesn't, but I've found that typing in something like "www.gmail.com" never works. When I use the history (or the search bar) it occasionally works.

Just cleared out the cache and removed all cookies, but I'm getting the same error when I try to open my Google Calendar.

• 552 Message size exceeds maximum message size

Hello, I have the same problem, 10 emails I sent out bounced with the following same error message:
">>>xxxxxxxxxatxxxxxxxx.co.il(reading confirmation): 552 Message size exceeds maximum message size"
And they also sent the headers....which is all Greek to me.  Being a very beginner computer user, I can't execute the good advice given here.
This is very strange since the emails so bounced only had 5 small pictures I had taken in my small, cheap dig camera, while other messages I had sent out
successfully before were probably 4 times as big.
Also, whose fault is it: my server RCN?  Microsoft?  I wonder...
I hope there's something easier for me to do to fix this problem?
Thanks ever so much for any help!  :)      Adela

It says to me that the message you sent was rejected along the way because it was too big.  Ask the e-mail administrator of the system that's bouncing it.

• Call Handler outgoing message length limit?

I am running Unity 4.0(5)and I have setup a call handler to play a recorded message for all incoming callers (Snow Information). My problem is after about 2 minutes unity cuts off the message as it's being recorded. is there a setting someplace that defines the allowed length of recordings left for incoming callers?

I think you need to do this in interview handler section.

• Exchange 2007 send connector does nor respect Maximum message size (sometimes...)

Hi to all
We have 9 email server, 5 Mailboxes, 2 CAS and 2 HT, We began to have problems to send and receive from internet; so I checked the queues and I discovered that some users are sending messages with a size greater than 16 MB, althought internally can send
until 40MB, if they send externally, only until 16MB.
I revised all the configuration:
Organization Configuration/Hub Transport/Global Settings/ Maximum send size (KB):40960
Server Configuration/Hub Transport/HT01/Receive Connectors/Default HT01/Maximum message size(KB): 40960 (only this server can send outside, the other server is in spare)
Organization Configuration/Hub Transport/Send Connector/SendMailOuside/Maximum message size(KB) 16386
We send by an Smart host that is used only by the HT01 to a Symantec server.
With this, we have this situations:
In the queue, I see some users are sending emails with a size more than 16MB outside the organization, I revised their configuration and the "maximun send size" is clear the checkbox (just like my account), the weir is if I try to send an email
with a size more than 16MB, I got the message: "#550 5.3.4 ROUTING.SizeLimit; message size exceeds fixed maximum size for route ##", this is not sense because their account configuration is the same like mine, so the Exchange must not let
them to put the email in the queue...
If between internal users try to send an email with size more than 16MB, this is allowed and it's send without any problem
So I don't know where is the misconfiguration, is permited to send mails with size less than 40MB internally, but externally only until to 16MB, but I din't know why the Exchange system let some users to send (or at least put in the queue) this kind of messages,
my account is in the same DB like the other users...
I hope to be clear in the description of the situation, maybe a patch or some thing, the HT server has the January patch and in april will be applied the last patchs.
Doc MX

Hi DocMX,
Thank you for your question.
We could run the following command:
Get-TransportConfig | FL max*size
Then, we could check the send connector by the following command:
Get-SendConnector | FL Identity,MaxMessageSize
We could run the following command to check an individual user maximum size.
Get-Mailbox <username> | FL Name,Max*size
In my solution, we could rebuild the user profile that those users could send emails more than 16MB to check if the issue persist.
We could also restart the service of “Microsoft Exchange Transport”.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
Best Regard,
