Unity Bulk Administration Tool update
I just ran the 10/30/06 update of the Cisco Bulk Administration Tool from http://www.cicsounitytools.com. BAT no longer works. The browser comes up with a blank (white) page....It looks like I ran the CUC version of the tool update. Any suggestions that will keep me from tearing apart the Unity box?
Hi Mike,
Have you tried using Bulk Edit (with .csv)?
User with Voicemail > Users referenced in this CSV file > Next
Here's a clip that speaks to how this is run now. You first search and select all
the users you want to change and then choose Bulk Edit;
To Edit User Account Information in Bulk Edit Mode (some editing from original this example
is for Caller Input settings but you'll see the point)
Step 1 In Cisco Unity Connection Administration, on the Search Users page, check the applicable user check boxes, and select Bulk Edit.
If the user accounts that you want to edit in bulk do not all appear on one Search page, check all applicable check boxes on the first page, then go to the next page and check all applicable check boxes, and so on, until you have selected all applicable users. Then select Bulk Edit.
Step 2 On the Edit Caller Input page, change settings as applicable.
Note The Status message at the top of the Edit Caller Input page tells you how many user accounts are being edited. Also note that the page is populated only with the fields that you are allowed to edit in bulk mode, and that the fields available for edit also depend on whether all of the user accounts reside on the local server.
Step 3 If applicable, set the Bulk Edit Task Scheduling Fields to schedule the Bulk Edit operation for a later date and/or time.
Step 4 Select Submit.
Step 5 If applicable, continue to change settings for these user accounts on the related pages available from the Edit menu. As you make changes on each page, select Submit before going on to the next page to make additional changes.

Try a couple of test users first to come up with the exact plan.
Cheers!

Unsubscribe IP service with Bulk Administration Tool
I can subscribe IP service to IP Phone with Bulk Administration Tool, but how to unsubscribe IP service form 1000 IP phones. I cant delete IP service, because IP service is subscribe to User Device Profile. CCM version is 3.3.3.
BAT doesn't have a feature to unsubscribe/delete IP
services. It is not on the roadmap either. -
Bulk Administration Tool for VG224
Is there a way to bulk import VG224's into CallManger 4.1(3). I have about 75 VG224's and must assign a directory number for each. I've tried VGC,and Virtual VGC templates that end up with a VG248 config. Any ideas would be great for the VG224. Thanks.

Changing alias with Bulk Admin Tool - Unity 9
I have a Unity Connection 9 server that had been updated from Unity v5. My users were all created with an arbitrary alias that does not match my active directory usernames.
I would like to complete my AD integration by updating my existing users' alias to match their AD username (600 users)
I've exported my unity users, and I have added a column that has my AD user name matched to their unity alias. It appears that normally the alias is used as the unique ID for any Bulk Admin tool updates, but I would like to do a update that would *change the alias*. The extension could be my unique ID in this case.
Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to use the Bulk Admin tool to update aliases?
Thanks in advance,
KeithThe alias and extension update utility can help here:
http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/AliasAndExtensionUpdate/AliasAndExtensionUpdate.html
there's a help and training video out there to give you and idea of how it works - it's a remapping strategy so it looks up the old alias (and/or extension) as the unique identifier and changes it to a new alias - so there's both a new and old alias and (optionally) a new and old extension in the CSV file for this purpose.
Try it with a few users and make sure the SMTP address format is correct and such when you're done and such. -
Update Windows AD Group Graph not appear in Administration Tool in CMC
Hi,
There are objects in CMC--> Public Folder --> Administration Tools
In administration tool, there are two objects
1) Update Windows AD Group Graph
2) Update Windows AD Group Graph and Aliases
these are not in Adminstration Tool folder. When I try to import from other environments, got the message the object is read only.
I also update the object in CCM-->update objects. It does not work.
Has anyone experience the same problem, and fixed it.
My envriorment is
BOE 3.1 SP3
Windows Server 2008
Sql Server 2008
Your help would be much appreciated to solve this issue.

Using Bulk Administration to remove services?
I know I can add phones services using bulk administration and a phone template. How would I go about removing IP phone services using bulk administration? I have tried to remove the services from the template I used to put the services in place, then run the bulk admin tool and the services were still on the IP phones even though the updated template is not subscribed. Can anyone help me with what I am missing here? Any assistance would be great!
Rgds,
VickyIt also seems not possible to modify services with BAT.
So is there an easy way to remove an IP Service from multiple phones ?
I added a service with incorrect parameters and need to delete the service and re-add it. -
Creating views in Physical Layer of OBIEE Administration Tool
Hello,
I am doing a proof of concept of creating an OBIEE repository using the Administration Tool to make a model for an in house sandbox OLTP system. Because this POC isn't using a warehouse that is built nicely with everything I need, I am having to import the OLTP tables into the Physical Layer and then create a few extra views (by creating a new physical table object and selecting "Table Type: Select") to add some new columns I will need.
My problem is that once I have created two views 'ViewA' and 'ViewB', I want to then create a third view 'ViewC' that is the union of 'ViewA' and 'ViewB'. But when I create ViewC from these two views and try to then update row count or view data in newly created ViewC, I get an error message of the effect:
Message 208: Invalid object name 'DBO.ViewA'
Message 208: Invalid object name 'DBO.ViewB'
When I try and create ViewC with DBO.OriginalTableA and DBO.OriginalTableB, however, it works just fine. And I am also able to successfully update row count and view data in ViewA and ViewB independently. So it seems to me like a view initialization problem when trying to have ViewC be created from A and B.
Am I trying to do something that is not allowed in the Physical Layer of the BI Admin Tool? I would think that I should be able to work with views just like actual physical tables from my OLTP. Maybe not.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.Hi Hammett81 ,
I think, I have given configured connection pool correct. (following Oracle guidelines: 'In the Connection Pool dialog box, on the General tab, verify that the call interface is set to Default (OCI 10g) and change the data source name to the appropriate tnsnames.ora entry ( ORCL in this example). Please note that this is the TNS service name, not the ODBC DSN. ' )
I tried to give ODBC DSN (SH) as call interface, which resulted in an Error dialogue, implying, previous configuration was correct.
So, I reverted back.

ThanksSeniorInternet,
I’ve seen this issue in the past and it occurred because the file was corrupted.
It’s possible that something went wrong when downloading it originally on your newly upgraded machine.
Try downloading
KB2693643 again from another machine and install it.
Hope this helps!

Unable to install Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 8 Release Preview on RTM 8 Enterprise
Standalone installer available here
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28972
fails with error code 0x80004005
Is this because my installation has issues, or would the admin pack files be updated for RTM?
Thank you in advance for any insightFound the solution here:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w8itprogeneral/thread/6d8745e0-c4c1-463a-b4bb-09f6c9c22527
Workaround:
Download the RSAT package intended for Windows 8 Release Preview: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28972
Extract the .msu file with a tool such as 7-Zip.
Open an Admin command prompt and change directory to where you extracted the .msu.
Run the following command to install (if x86 you probably have a different .xml filename): pkgmgr /n:Windows6.2-KB2693643-x64.xml
Wait a while. You can look in task manager for pkgmgr. When it disappears, the installation is done.
Use the tools as per usual. -
Bulk Administration - Directory Number Voicemail Profile
I am tryingg to figure out a way to bulk change the voicemail profile for a random sampling of extensions in Cisco Unified Communications Manager version 8.5. I know you can do this if there is some sort of unifiing feature between the extensions like Route Pattern, Line Description, CSS, etc. but I don't have that unifing feature because they are truly random.
I tried doing a phone update from custom file (extensions) and then changing the CSS(Phone) to something unique to the phones that I want to update the lines on. I then went to Phones > Add/Update Lines and queried that CSS(Phone) that I changed those phones to. But, when I do that if some of the phones had multiple extensions on them those extensions show up as well in the query...
Is there a better way to update the voicemail profile on just the extensions that I want to do it on?
Background:
We are moving to a differnent voicemail system but we have to do it in batches. Due to the fact that we are cutting over departments so I will only have the extension available to me to do the update.Thats an interesting approach but I think I accompish the same thing with the method I was using with changing the CSS(Phone) to something unique.
What I am not seeing is a way to update the extensions voicemail profile from a custom file. Which would be way easier. I have been racking my brain to why that feature isn't in Bulk Administration...
Your other method is so tedious, especially due to the fact that each group will be 200-300 phones.. Any other insight? I think the best way might be to just do it the way I was thinking and copy out the full extension list obtained before I run the update line job from the phones obtained through the Update Phones from Custom File query then do a diff on the original file of extensions and the new list then go back and change those phone lines back (there shouldn't be a whole lot of multi-line setups). Still a bit tedious but maybe less so then that other method.
Please let me know if I am missing something though. -

No row count in the Physical layer of the Administration Tool
Hi,
While creating physical layer, I imported tables and set connection pool.
After this, to verify connectivity, clicked Tools > Update All Row Counts.
Now according to Oracle online guide,
"when update all row counts completes, verify that the row counts are displayed in the Physical layer of the Administration Tool"
I do not see the row counts in the Physical layer of the Administration Tool. No error message gets displayed either.
Am I doing something wrong?
I am new to OBIEE.
Thanks in Advance & Regards,
DeebaHi Hammett81 ,
I think, I have given configured connection pool correct.

Administration tool read only access
I was wondering if there is a read only access to the administration tool.
What i am trying to do is to test the repository Build with best practices since this repository is live and done by a group of developers -
Since i joined recently and wanted to know what resources i need to get to view and test the repository.
I was wondering if there is a read only access to admin tool , not sure about this and also do i need oracle BI installed on my local machine to view the repository.
If not ,is there a way where i can get to see the repository without having the priviledges to do any modification or save changes to the repositoryin online or offline mode
Thanks Deva ...
Edited by: UOOLK on 01-Jun-2012 02:48Hi,
If you want to switch your RPD read only mode to online/Offline mode
try to re start your bi server and then try to access it RPD (online/offline mode)
Setting rpd in read only mode:
users wants to access the RPD in online mode then do below setting in NQSConfig.ini but this will refrain u developers as well to do any change in online mode...
Refer Section: READ_ONLY_MODE
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12096_01/books/AnyInConfig/AnyInConfigNQSConfigFileRef11.html
otherwise you can give it copy of RPD(he can access it via offline mode)
if your using obiee11g,
Read-Only issues on a new install of OBIEE 11g:(always opens it in Read-Only mode)
Login to Oracle Enterprise Manager Goto -> Business Intelligence -> coreapplication
Click - Capicity Managment Tab in Right side -> Performance -> Check Disable Disallow Online RPD Updates
Thanks

Zelgay KunariHi zelgay,
This is my result:
From your error code, it seems this is relate to your windows update, please use following command to fix corrupted files:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
In the meantime, you can delete temporary update files in the SoftwareDistribution folder:
Stop Windows Update service.
Open File Explorer.
Double-click the local hard disk where Windows is installed, typically drive C.
Double-click the Windows folder, and then double-click the
SoftwareDistribution folder.
Double-click the DataStore folder to open it, and then delete all files and folders in the folder.
Note If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Back button. In the SoftwareDistribution folder, double-click the
Download folder to open it, and then delete all files in the folder.
Restart Windows Update service.

BI Administration Tool - No database objects shown
Hello. I am trying to create a new repository using the BI Administration tool. I connect to an Oracle database using OCI, but in the "Select Metadata Objects" screen, I am not able to see any database objects, except the database as a parent node.
So for example, instead of showing:
myOracleDB
-table1
-table2
-table...
-tableN
All I see is:
myOracleDB
Has anyone come across this issue?
Thank you in advance for the help.Make sure you are importing dbo related instead of sys or any other metadata (like DAC rep etc..).. if every thing is correct, try to add a table manually in RPD with few columns and view data.. this is to make sure all in place.
let us know updates
If it is helpful, please mark as correct or helpful
