Unity Connection 8.5.1ES16.11900-16 upgrade for Single Inbox with Exchange 2007 ?

Hello friends,
I'm currentely running Unity Connection 8.5.1ES16.11900-16.
I would like to use the single inbox feature with Exchange 2007.
It is in the documentation that we need at least Unity Connection 8.5(1) Service Update 1 (UCSInstall_UCOS_8.5.1.11900-21.sgn.iso).
I downloaded, checked MD5 but when searching on the FTP directory it won't accept it (No valid upgrade options were found). Is this a supported upgrade?
Same happens with the localization file in Portuguese that i need to install: uc-locale-pt_PT-8.5.1.1-16.cop.sng ...
Please can you give me some hints about what I may be doing wrong?
Thank you very much and warm regards,
met

Hi Met,
Hope all is well
I think you are hitting this caveat. Although the numbers don't match exactly I'm
pretty sure you will need to wait for an 8.5.1.12xxx.x ES
If the Connection server is running an engineering special with a full Cisco Unified Communications
Operating System version number between 8.5.1.11001-x and 8.5.1.11899-x, do not upgrade the server
to Connection 8.5(1) SU 1 because the upgrade will fail. Instead, upgrade the server with an ES released
after 8.5(1) SU 1 that has a full Unified Communications OS version number of 8.5.1.12xxx.x or later
to get the SU 1 functionality.

  • Cisco Unity Connection Single inbox with Exchange 2010

I have a new installation of Unity Connection 8.6.2 using single inbox with an Exchange 2010 cluster frontended by a Netscaler load balancer.Functionality that does not work is when a new message comes into outlook and the message is read or deleted it does not update the status on the phone- IE turn off the MWI or if the message is deleted it is still a new message in Unity. If you click reset in the user unified message account, the status gets updated.
TAC says its a blocked port on Exchange TCP 7080 but that is open.

      I followed this document :
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/unified_messaging/guide/85xcucumg020.html
but when i try to integrate CUC with exchange 2010 , i didn't find is clear enough
do you have Step by Step more clear than that link becouse my lab very close to your case.

  • Does anyone know how to get apple mail in Lion to connect with Exchange 2007?

Does anyone know how to get apple mail in Lion 10.7.2 to connect with Exchange 2007?  It worked perfectly with Snow Leopard... upgraded to lion and it won't work.  We use Exchange 2007 with SP 3 and Rollup 4.  Won't connect... and I can't get Apple to give me any direction.

We finally got it to work today.  We had to call and pay for the microsoft support service, but the issue was on the server end.  We had to go into the iis manager... went to sites... when to default website...and changed the SSL settings for Auto Discover, EWS Exadmin, echange, exchweb, owa... and the rest..
Change the settings to ignore client certificates.
Problem solved. Can finally send and receive.

  • Connection 8.5 Bulk Edit Enable Unified Messaging (Single Inbox)

    Running Unity Connection 8.5(1)SU1
I setup 1 user for Single Inbox (http to Exchange 2003 via WebDav) he's working great.
Now I want to enable Single Inbox for the remaining 345 subscribers. They are already LDAP integrated. We just moved from Unity Unified 7.0 (with Exchange 2003) to Unity Connection 8.5
How do I use Bulk Edit to enable the remaining subscriber for Unified Messaging/Single Inbox?
Jeff - would be great if COBRAS going from Unity Unfiied Messaging to Unity Connection Unified Messaging would automatically configure everything since it already knows the Exchange alias, etc.
I attached a sample Bulk Edit > Unified Messaging update that failed
    "Failure Reason",subscriberalias,servicedisplayname,optionalserviceaccountid,umemailaddress,emailaddressusecorp,enablecalendar,enablemeeting,enablembxsynch,isprimarymeetingservice,logintype,userid,userprofilenumber

Figured it out.I hope this helps.

  • Installing Unity 7 with Exchange 2007

I need to install Unity 7 with Exchange 2007
The DVDs that I have received from Cisco contains Unity 2003 Message store.
How I can Install Unity 7 with Exchange 2007 and I have 2003 on Unity server.
    Any body can advise me?
and is there any documnet contains the requirements for installation( what I should do on Exchange server)

Here are the questions I need you to answer:
    1) If you plan on integrating with Exchange 2007, my assumption is that you are planning on a Unified Messaging deployment and you will be integrating with your CORPORATE (i.e., existing) Active Directory and Exchange 2007 environment.  Is that correct?  If not, and you are installing a standalone Unity messaging environment then my advice is to use Exchange 2003 as this will provide better ease of use in a standalone environment for you (I'll get to this point in more detail as I answer your questions).
    2) Do you need to configure OAB for Outlook 2003 and Earlier Clients even if all of your users have Outlook 2007?  Yes.  I believe the actual setting in E2K7 may not read exactly as it is written here but the premise is the same which is why the statement "regardless of which versions of Outlook you are using" is included in the installation notes.
    3) What is the difference between Unity with Exchange 2003 vs. Exchange 2007?
    - With Exchange 2007, Unity cannot create mailboxes directly in Exchange due to permission restrictions.  All users and mailboxes must exist before you create a Unity subscriber.  Going back to #1, if you are doing a standalone environment then Exchange 2003 integration is easier from an adminstration perspective.  Unity can create AD users and mailboxes for you with Exchange 2003 but not with Exchange 2007.
    - Expanding on your second question, even with Exchange 2007 the Exchange 2003 System Manager is installed on the Cisco Unity server because it includes the Microsoft messaging API (MAPI) that Unity uses to communicate with Exchange for addressing, sending, and retrieving messages. When using Exchange 2007 as the partner Exchange server for Cisco Unity, offline address books for “Outlook 2003 and earlier clients” should be configured regardless of which version of Outlook is being used or Cisco Unity will not function properly.
    - If you are running a mixed environment of 2003 and 2007 Exchange servers, the Unity partner server must be an Exchange 2007 server.
    - When you install Unity with Exchange 2007, you must run a script on the Exchange 2007 server during the installation.  This is a Power Shell script that creates the primary system accounts (3 of them) that Unity needs to operate because again, it cannot create mailboxes in an integration with Exchange 2007.
    That's all the primary points.
    Hailey

  • Unity Connection - Certificate from cucm no more trusted for encrypted calls after upgrade to 10.5(1)

    Hello Support Community,
    i have a strange problem:
after upgrading my cucm and unity connection from 9.1 to 10.5(1) enctrypted calls are no more working.
situation 1: CUCM is down, Subscriber is up: Encrypted call to Unity Connection work correctly
situation 2: CUCM is up: Encrypted Calls to Unity Connection not working.
i get the following Info in the log for the Connection Conversion Manager:
19:35:21.053 |15865,,,MiuGeneral,25,Invalid Certificate: Received Certificate -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
    MIID8zCCAtugAwIBAgIQc/fBdUz1Zdh4CXhcPqGVuDANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQsFADBw

doesn't match with stored Certificate: -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
    MIIC2DCCAkGgAwIBAgIIJWCm4bSdt+kwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEFBQAw
    -----END CERTIFICATE-----
so where does Unity Connection cache this certificate and how can i delete/replace it?
the cert shown in the logs is the one from cucm: ("CallManager"), i recreated it through cucm os administration, now i see the same error message on unity connection for the new recreated certificate.

Actually It doesn't. It says he's on a MacBook. I don't know all the different types of Macs. I was having a ton of problems with iChat. I opened DMZ to my computer, knocked down all firewalls etc and left everything exposed, still with bad results. A few weeks ago my power supply went out on my D-Link. I bought a linksys. Since I'd left all firewalls off I figured it couldn't be the router. I power cycled everything n the netork, still no luck. Today I bought a universal Power supply and started up my D-Link Router. Everything worked perfectly. My wifes computer - a laptop running Tiger worked fine with the Linksys and did my machine before the Leopard upgrade. Now that I've got the D-Link online everythings working.

  • Unity Connection 8.5(1) API SOAP AXL for Voicemail PIN Resets?

I'm trying to locate a URL to read up on the Unity Connection 8.5 APIs , I have a web developer who wants to write a in-house self service web page that allows users to reset a subscirbers own TUI voicemail PIN. He's a programmer, I am not, but I see references to the Unity SOAP AXL APIs that could be used for such.

You're looking for the Cisco Unity Connection Provisioning Interface (CUPI). They have a WADL and XML schema for the API posted which I understand to be useful to those programmers.
Specifically to what this customer wants, the DocWiki has a section on Changing Passwords through the CUPI.

  • Cisco support for Single Inbox Feature in Exchange 2003 for Unity Connection 8.5

    Hi There,
Does Cisco support a Unity Connection 8.5 solution/design with the Single Inbox Feature (for Unified Messaging) configured with Exchange 2003, or does it support the Single Inbox feature on Exchange 2010 only?
    Thanks

Thanks Anthony - I just found an updated doco that confirms that.

  • Intergrating Unity 7.0 with Exchange 2007

I have a customer that is currently on Unity 7.0 and Exchange 2003. They are building a new 2007 Server and want to intergrate it with Unity 7.0.  Does anyone have any documentation or videos on how to do the migration?

    Hello Dushaune,
Basically integrating  means that you are going to change Message Store also known as the partner server (Exchange 2k3) to the new partner with Exchange 2k7. For this there are several steps:
    -OAB and Extending AD schema
    - PW (Permission Wizard)
    - MSCW (Message Store Configuration Wizard)
You need to follow this mandatory steps on the guide:
Configuring Exchange 2007 for Cisco Unity   &    Extending the Active Directory Schema for Cisco Unity
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/installation/guide/umexnofo/5xcuigumenofo060.html#wp1942680
***Even though on the title you see unity 5.x this is still applicable for Unity 7.x, on the documentation guide you will read:
    Note
The following link goes to a Release 5.x version of the guide; all 5.x content applies to version 7.x as well.
On the Exchange side make sure you meet the following system requirements:
    Minimum Service Packs Required—Message Store
    •Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 Update Rollup 4:
–On Exchange 2007 servers that are running Windows Server 2008. Without the update rollup, message waiting indicators will not function properly. See Microsoft KB article 952580.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/7x/requirements/7xcusysreq.html#wp472166
As a side note but still related, i'm not sure what outlook version you have so make sure it is on the compatibility matrix:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/compatibility/matrix/cuclientmtx.html#wp364674
As for the PW (Permission Wizard)  it grants permissions for the Unity Service Accounts (Unity Install, Unity Directory Services and Unity Message Store) and to run it you need to be a domain admin. This tool is found on Tools Depot> Administration Tools>  Permission Wizard. Make sure it is the latest and greatest version (3.0.0.7) For a more detailed understanding with screenshots go to:
Granting Permissions with Cisco Unity 5.0(1)+ Permissions Wizard
    http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/Unity/PermissionsWizard/Unity50/Help/PWHelp_ENU.htm
After you run the PW (Permission Wizard) you will get a pop-up window advising what permissions to apply depending on the Exchange version you choose, in this case:
Version of Exchange in Which Mailboxes Are Homed:  Exchange 2007 only
Active Directory Account:  Cisco Unity installation and Cisco Unity directory services
Permissions to Grant to previous AD (Active Directory) accounts:
Delegate Exchange Organization Administrator administrative control
Delegate Exchange Organization Administrator admininistrative control
The MSCW (Message Store Configuration Wizard) will define the actual partner. Here is a link with a short description:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-23513
This tool is found on Control Panel> Add Remove Programs> Cisco Unity Message Store Configuration Wizard> Click on Change/Remove to execute it, below are the screenshots guiding through the tool.  **The only screenshot missing is where you see a pencil writting a book, this means it's synchronizing, just let it finish.**
In this case my installation account was unityinstall, however sometimes people name then just Unity, or company_unityinstall and so on so chooose the applicable. For the admin account you could use unityadmi, i decided to use unityinstall:
In the screenshot i only have a 2010 Exchange, however this will reflect all Exchange versions in your deployment (2k3 and 2k7) chooose the applicable, also this will require to stop Unity, so no auto attendant and no voicemail during this time:
On this last part pay attention where it says Directory Service account:
    Best Regards,

Depending on what your email admins face to the internet, maybe. Via BIS, a BB can integrate with most all POP, IMAP, and OWA internet-facing systems. But, it will depend on what faces the internet:
KB03119 Requirements for integrating IMAP and POP email accounts with a BlackBerry Internet Service account
KB04478 Integrate POP accounts with the BlackBerry Internet Service
KB10154 How to integrate a POP or IMAP email account through advanced integration
KB03133How to integrate a Microsoft Outlook Web Access email address on BlackBerry smartphone
Depending on what your email system faces to the internet, one of those should get you going.

I know what "WhatsApp" is, but what is "WhatsApp & Co."? In any event, WhatsApp does not require BES (I have heard others report that it does require BIS though).

  • Unity Connection 8.5 Single Inbox with Verisign Certificates

    Hi,
I am trying to connect CUC 8.5.1.12900-7 to Exchange 2010 using Basic authentication with SSL.
I am having problems when I get to the test user stage and think the problem may be caused by certificates.
To obtain the certificates that I have installed on CUC I got one of the users to connect to OWA and then exported the certificates associated with the connection and then loaded then onto CUC - is this the right way to do it? - there does not seem to be any documentation that covers this in detail.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or at least let me know how to troubleshoot the problem?
    Thanks

You want to export the root CA certificate from OWA and import it to both the tomcat-trust and connection-trust stores. When I did this last week on 8.6(1)a I did not have to restart Tomcat although that has been required in the past. You can spot the root CA certificate by choosing the Certificate Path tab, selecting the highest certificate in the chain, opening it, select the Details tab, and click Copy to File. When you save it you will want the Base-64 encoded file and need to manually change the file extension from .CRT to .PEM.
Additionally, you can rule SSL out by unchecking the Validate Certificates for Exchange Servers checkbox. This will allow the SSL session even if the certificate fails validation.
    Other issues I have seen:
The permissions granted to the Exchange user did not delegate to that user/mailstore or you accidentally missed a step.
The AutoDiscover folder in IIS is not allowing Basic authentication. The Exchange architect I worked with last week wouldn't enable this so I ended up using NTLM authentication instead since both EWS and AutoDiscover were allowing Integrated WIndows Auth.

  • Unity 3.1(5) prblm retrieving voice mail for single user

I have a customer with one user who cannot retrieve their voice mail new / saved. When she logs into via their extension it prompts for option 1 new 2 saved. Taking option 1 and it loops back to the begining. I have refreshed and sync MWI and also checked the TSP settings and also the Exchange server. Have rebooted Unity and still the issue remains. Any ideas or possible resolves?

Did you check the phone? is it same from any phone? re create the mail box and see another option.

  • I suddenly get this connection is untrusted after being on website for five minutes with it working perfectly I want to turn this off.

I was on the website like five minutes with it working perfectly. My firefox install is new as of two days ago. It suddenly decided the website's certificate is not updated. It wasn't updated five minutes ago, but was working perfectly then. I do not give a ''durn'' what firefox thinks. I want to see this website. There is no ignore this BS and take me to my website button. I want to know how to turn this off permanently. I tried updating firefox and I still have the same issue. Make it stop. My firefox is updated as of five minutes ago to the very newest version. My windows version whatever is also automatically updated so that's not it. I do not use any local antivirus because I am behind a firewall. It can't be the firewall because other computers in my network not using firefox have no problem with the website. Also cannot be my windows because other computers which are just ghosted over copies of the same as this one one my network with same exact default settings also with no changes to them just like this one but using another web browser have no trouble at all with this website. Seriously, nothing is different on the other computers on the network except the use of firefox. They work fine for this website. Firefox brand new update even does not work. Tell me how to fix it. I tried to do the stuff listed in certain other posts here. Apparently this version of firefox is different from the versions talked about when I google because certain parts of the answer don't fit what I see when I try to follow them with this version.

Make sure that the system time and date on your computer are set correctly.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
Note that some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

  • Active Directory: 2003 to 2012 R2 Upgrade across single forest with child domains

I just have a quick questions about something that should be simple. We will be upgrading our current domain from Windows 2003 functionality to Windows 2012 R2.  This forest has domain and two child domains.  I have two questions.  Since we
have to do this in a few steps in order to get up to 2012 functionality I am wondering where is it consider best practice to start?  In the Root (top level) domain of the forest or in one of the child domains?  I want to say the root (top level)
domain is where I would place my first Windows 2012 R2 box and promote it to a domain controller.  Then move to the child domains one the root domain controllers have all be replaced with Server 2012.

Yes.  We are working with the client to migrate any dependencies off these 3 NT legacy domains.  We will be able to decommission 2 of the 3 without any issues.  However, they still have an old NT box running SQL 6.5 databases for a application
still in production.  Yes, they are very aware that NT isn't supported, that that version of SQL isn't supported, and that this will hold up their upgrade.
Our plans for them will be to deploy all new Windows Server 2012 R2 domain controllers but keep the domain and the forest functionality at 2003 in order to support that final NT Legacy domain until they can get that application migrated.
Once that NT domain is decommissioned then we can raise the functionality of the rest of their domains from 2003 to 2012 R2.
