Unity Connection 8.x Call Admission Control

Hi,
I am trying to find out if there is a separate CAC mechanism for Cisco Unity Connection.  Or does it depend on Call Manager Locations for CAC?
Thanks
James

CAC has to be configured either on CUCM and/or on GKs, CUC has nothing to do with it.

  • Does Crypto call admission control only apply to dynamic SAs?

    Hi,
In my DMVPN phase 2 implementation, I have implemented crypto call admission control for IKE SAs on my spokes. This limit is set to 20 which is enough for my network.
I have three hubs per region and site-to-site connectivity is only enabled on one of these routers.(hub 3). hub 1 & 2 only provide connectivity to other resources outside the DMVPN.
If the IKE SA limit is reached on a spoke and there are other IKE requests which are being rejected - and let's say my hub1 goes down or the spoke just loses the tunnel.
Before the tunnels to the hub1 is recovered, the spoke accepts the IKE requests which it was previously rejecting and again the IKE SA limit is reached. Now the hub1 are back on line – it will not be able to establish a tunnel ,right?
If over a period of time the same thing happens with my hub2 then my spoke gets a bit isolated, right?
The hubs have static IKE policy (unique PSKs) while the site-to-site tunnels are dynamic.
In other words, does the crypto call admission limit apply only to dynamic crypto sessions or to all crypto sessions?
I think the former. In that case, can a priority be configured for the static IKE SAs over the dynamic ones?
    Kind regards
    Nasir

    Nasir,
There should not be a differentiator for CAC between static and dynamic. It counts overall IKE and IKE in-negotiations SAs. IKE doesn't necessarily need to know whether session is static or dynamic...

You're right this is midleading, I'm going to get in touch with documentation team to make this a bit more explicit.

  • Unity Connection 8.6 call transfer to non-unity extension

I have converted from Unity to Unity Connection and am looking for a solution for transferring an incoming call to a non-unity user extension.
Here is the scenario:  An PSTN caller calls in and is directed to a Unity Connection Call Handler or a Subscriber greeting.  In the greeting they are advised that if they know the extension they want to call, they can dial it at any time.  Here is the rub, if they dial an extension for a user listed in Unity Connection, the call gets transferred to the extension.  However, if the extension dialed is to an extension that is not a Unity Connection User, the attendant comes back and say the extension is not understood.
In Unity before conversion, I would make an internet user that did not have a mailbox but was listed with an extension.  However, with Unity Connection, I am using LDAP integration with Microsoft AD and I don't see a method of doing the same thing.
Is anyone else doing something like this or know of a method to do it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Gene Keel

In the greeting check this box:
Allow Transfers to Numbers Not Associated with Users or Call Handlers
also make sure the number entered by the call is allowed in Default System Transfer restriction table.

  • Unity connection stop take call every 25 minutes

    Hi,
    first sorry for my english.
last week i had cucm version 6.1.5 on mcs 7845 h1 and unity connection on mcs 7845 h2.  all work fine.
last weekend i upgrade my cucm to version 8.5.1 and i backup the publisher to restore on UCS R210-2121605 (on virtual machine).
i keep the unity connection server on the MCS server.
yesterday on load (many call in same time) the system coming very slow to answer every 20-25 minutes for 5 minutes and unity come back correctly after 5 minutes.
last night i changed server.  i toke backup of my mcs to restore on new install of UCS (new installation of unity connection).
during the night all my setup (cucm and unity) work fine.
this morning i have the same trouble.  each 20-25 minutes i can't reach voicemail pilot.
I don't have any rtmt error,  the cpu and memory of unity and cucm are normal (around 10%).
    Alex

    this is the solutoin
my unity was registred on call manager publisher on IP 10.64.1.10/255.255.255.0 gw 10.64.1.1 and my subscriber 10.64.1.140/255.255.255.0 gw 10.64.1.129.
my unity connection have ip adress: 10.64.1.170/255.255.255.0 gw 10.64.1.129.
i have i trunck between the 2 switchs with 3 vlan inside.  the call managers and unity are in the same vlan but my cucm publisher are in a different building.
i don't know why, but i registred unity connection on subscriber and it's stop freeze each 20 minutes.
the theory said my cucm cluster and my uinty are in the same network (it's work fine before my upgrade) suppose to work and the same network and for communicate outside this network  each server toke how gateway.  but not each 20 minutes

  • Cisco Unity Connection 9.1 Call handling

    Dears,
I want to configure the call handling means if some body calls on board line 24500000 the corporate opening greeting should be played and then press 1 for sales, press 2 for technical, press 3 for presales, these all audio (corporate greeting, press 1 for sales ,press2 for technical etc....) can be done by a text to speech in unity connection or i have to enroll a audio recording company.
Also please route me to good doc how to configure call handling.
    Thanks

    Hi Clark,
Just to add a note to the good tips from Chris (+5!)
    I would go through the training tips for this great tool designed to build Call Handlers. It's called AudioText Manager;
    http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/ATM/ATM.html
Then you can use the Greetings Administrator Conversation to do all your recordings

  • Unity Connection 9.1 - Call back feature

    Hello,
Is there a feature that would allow a user to callback the caller from the voice message itself.
For example Calling number 123-123-1234 calls extension 2000 and leaves a voice message.  When user with ext 2000 listens to the message from 123-123-1234, can they press a button that would automatically call 123-123-1234.
If anyone can point me to some documentation that would allow this, that would be great ! !
    Thanks,

  • CUCM: Call Admission Control (CAC) in MPLS environment

    Hello,
could anybody help me in setup location based CAC in CUCM 9.1.
I have read already some ducumentaion, but it's not entirely clear to me.
The statement in these documetaion is: ".. assign the apropriate bandwith to the locations ...".
But as far as I know I can assign the bandwidth only to pairs of locations. I guess it's not the idea to put the bandwidth from each location to all the other locations...
So, should I put the bandwith from each location to the hub_none location?
Which devices do I have to put then into the hub_location?
How does it work when a phone in one location calls another phone in another location?
    What about the HQ devices?
I have a centralized environment: one CUCM cluster (and phones + central gateways) in the HQ and 12 sites (with phones and local gateways) all connected via MPLS cloud.
    Thanks for any comment.

I'd recommend you to read the SRND before further questions, it's all explained in there.
Simpy put, consider hub_none your HQ, you can change the same, then configure a location for each remote site with the BW they can use.
It'll be a hub and spoke, BW will be deducted from the link from X site to hub_none, and from hub_none to site Y to account for the call.
Again, SRND covers this very nicely.

  • Unity Connection 8.5 mailbox quotas

I configured mailbox quotas for user mailbox
    Send/receive quota is 3 Mgb
    Send Quota is 2 Mgb
    Warning Quota is 1 Mgb
User mailbox is already 3.5 Mgb
HOwever, when i  call this user from internal or external number - i still can leave a mesage for this user ( i expected system DOES NOT ALLOW to leave any new mesage for this user because his voicemail box is already exceeds Send/receive quota which is  3 Mgb )
Checkbox for option "Full Mailbox Check for Outside Caller Messages"is already checked in
What is wrong in this config ?

Here is how send/receive quotas impact things:
Quota Handling for Outside Caller Messages
By default, if an outside caller attempts to send a message to a user whose send/receive quota has been exceeded, Cisco Unity Connection allows the caller to record a message for the recipient. This can be changed by checking the Full Mailbox Check for Outside Caller Messages check box on the System Settings > Advanced > Conversation page.
If the recipient mailbox has not yet exceeded the send/receive quota at the time an outside caller records a message, but the quota is exceeded in the act of delivering the message, Connection delivers the message regardless of the quota or the setting of the Full Mailbox Check for Outside Caller Messages check box.
    Quota Handling for User-to-User Messages
If a user whose voice mailbox has exceeded the send quota signs in to Connection and attempts to send a message to another user, Connection indicates that the send quota has been exceeded, and does not allow the sender to record the message. If the user calls another user and is forwarded to a voice mailbox, the user is able to leave a message, but the message is sent as an outside caller message.
If a user attempts to send a message to another user whose mailbox has exceeded the send/receive quota, or if the quota is exceeded in the act of delivering the message, Connection sends a nondelivery receipt to the message sender.
Connection delivers read receipts and nondelivery receipts to users regardless of whether their quotas have been exceeded.

    Chris

  • Call forward to unity connection call handler

    have  the following setup:
    cucm 8.6
    cuc 8.6
a cti route point (DN 1000 )with forward all to unity connection call handler.
phone users who choose to have some quiet time can forward all their calls to the cti rp.
    1. i need to allow only specfic DNs the ability to forward to the cti rp.
    2. at times that  the allowed DNs didnt choose to forward to cti rp then normal behaviour should occur - busy or unanswerd calls should go to DNs personal voice mail.
    thanks

You can assign a specific partition to cti-rp and assign it to a CSS and this CSS should be assigned to those users (at call forward settings in line) only to whom you are trying to give this facility and for other users you can
or you can create a TP for it with specific partition and set the called number as per voice mail.

  • Unity Connection - Certificate from cucm no more trusted for encrypted calls after upgrade to 10.5(1)

    Hello Support Community,
    i have a strange problem:
after upgrading my cucm and unity connection from 9.1 to 10.5(1) enctrypted calls are no more working.
situation 1: CUCM is down, Subscriber is up: Encrypted call to Unity Connection work correctly
situation 2: CUCM is up: Encrypted Calls to Unity Connection not working.
i get the following Info in the log for the Connection Conversion Manager:

doesn't match with stored Certificate: -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
    MIIC2DCCAkGgAwIBAgIIJWCm4bSdt+kwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEFBQAw
    -----END CERTIFICATE-----
so where does Unity Connection cache this certificate and how can i delete/replace it?
the cert shown in the logs is the one from cucm: ("CallManager"), i recreated it through cucm os administration, now i see the same error message on unity connection for the new recreated certificate.

Actually It doesn't. It says he's on a MacBook. I don't know all the different types of Macs. I was having a ton of problems with iChat. I opened DMZ to my computer, knocked down all firewalls etc and left everything exposed, still with bad results. A few weeks ago my power supply went out on my D-Link. I bought a linksys. Since I'd left all firewalls off I figured it couldn't be the router. I power cycled everything n the netork, still no luck. Today I bought a universal Power supply and started up my D-Link Router. Everything worked perfectly. My wifes computer - a laptop running Tiger worked fine with the Linksys and did my machine before the Leopard upgrade. Now that I've got the D-Link online everythings working.

  • Issue with transferring calls to VM for the correct DN Unity Connection 9.1.2

    Hi all
I have been facing an issue with a Unity Connection Server v9.1.2. Every time an internal extension (assigned to VM profile and to Unity as a user) which is configured to be transferred to VM after 20 sec or so NoAN,is called , Unity treats the call as the extension of the calling party and not the called party. Furthermore , I dont know if this has any relation with the problem I am facing but when I check the voicemail port status in RTMT its seems like that regardless it is a direct call to the Unity from an extension (dial the pilot number or press the messages button on the IP phone) or a redirected call from an extension to Unity due to NoAN configuration, the Reason is Direct and the caller party number is always the extension initiated the call and not the one redirected to the Unity (second case).
I have changed the Use Last (Rather than First) Redirecting Number for Routing Incoming Call  Unity parameter in the
System Settings > Advanced >Conversations -> checked   and
Redirecting Diversion Header Delivery - Outbound CUCM parameter ->checked
in the SIP Trunk configuration used for the integraton of the CUCM with Unity but none of those seem to address this issue. Is there any guidelines you can give me to overcome this issue?
The servers I am using are
    CUCM v9.1.2 BE
    CUC    v9.1.2 BE
    Thank You in Advance

    Hello again,
The Voice Mail Box Mask was blank before. However I tried XXXX (I use 4-digit extension for the VM pilot) but this did not seem to fix anything to the system....Same situation as before. Any more suggestions?
    Thank you

  • Unity Connections remote call sign-in issue.

I have some users that when they dial there DID from outside they hit there VM press star and are prompted for their sign-in number and pin. Then I have some users that do the same thing, but the greeting just continues to play. I am sure there is a simple fix to this, but I cannot seem to find it. Hoping someone out here can lead me in the correct direction.
I am running Unity Connection 8.6.2.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Dave,
    I would check the following on a "working" vs "non-working" user;
    User> Edit> Caller Input> * (star)> send to Sign-in

  • Unity Connection 8.5 - No Diversion Header information in transfered call

We are having call failures when calls are transfered to our SIP provider from Unity Connection (AutoAttendent). We have tracked this down to Unity is sending a Refer that does not have any information regarding the number the call was transfered from. Subsequently Callmanager does not create a diversion header in the invite to the SIP provider.
The SIP provider require either a authorized number in the from header or a the same in the diversion header.
We have the rediversion headers enabled on the callmanager side of the trunk.
Does anyone have end to end SIP configuration with UCM 8.5 and Unity Connection 8.5 and can complete transfers back to the provider?
    mike

I don't see any problem, just don't check the option to ignore additional input when configuring caller input on digit 1
By default CUC will give you 1500 ms to dial for any other digits before trying to route the call with whatever you dialed.

  • Unity Connection 8.5 | Prepend Digits to Dialed Extensions overlap with an option in a call handler

    Hi,
One customer has requested to set up a call handler in Unity Connection 8.5. The call handler should be capable of transfering calls to IP phones by dialing the last 4 digits of the IP phone's extension. The last 4 digits of the extension from all IP phones begin with 12. However, the customer is also requesting to have an option on the same call handler, so that if users would dial 1, the call is transfered to an IP phone
As you can see, there is an overlap between the last 4 digits of all IP phone's extensions, and an option in the call handler. Therefore, if I configure both options in the same call handler, when the users would press 1, Unity Connection will immediately send the call to the extension setup for option 1, even if the user wants to dial the last 4 digits of an IP phone extension
One possible solution would be to change the option in the call handler to transfer the call to an IP phone, to something different than 1. However, the customer wants to have this transfer to be performed when he press option 1
Is there any other possible solution for achieving this?
    Thanks in advance
