Unity Cxn 8 smtp relay - wav file name

Hi,
Just wondering if it possible to change the name of or date/time stamp the wav file sent when relay is used?
i.e. instead of voicemail.wav -> voicemail_15:13_06062012.wav
Regards,
John

Cisco has a document about this and it is a known issue in 8.x.  We asked for a work around and were told none existed.    This causes an errorr in Outlook after a user receives 100 VM's that causes an error and the temp folder needs to be flushed.  I don't have the document link.

  • Changed wav file names – files unrecoverable

    Hi. I was asked to import some important imterviews made on an iPod mini and an ExtremeMac Micromemo onto a Mac, but, as requested, I change the file names first. Since changing the file names the files are completely unplayable, undownloadable and unrecoverable. Please, can anyone help.

    Hi Chris
    What I did was to change the file names of the wav files in the Finder while they were still on the iPod Nano, before downloading them to iTunes. The iPod Nano uses a hybrid file system, and once the file names were changed iTunes refused to recognize the files. The Finder and Mac OS X flags them as wav files but cannot read them. All other software (players, audio apps and file recovery apps) that we have attempted to use, whether on Mac OS X, Windows XP and Vista, and Linux Red Hat has either crashed, failed to read the files or ignored them. Changing the file names back to an arbitrary time, similar to the original, still does not help.
    It's hard to appreciate the problem, but two of us with many years of Mac (and other IT) experience spent three hours yesterday, on a total of 6 computers, trying to get something to read or recover these files, without any luck whatsoever.
    Thanks for your interest.
    I might be able to get my hands on some industrial strength recovery software, today, and then we'll see. The problem, however, is that the data of the files is intact, but absolutely nothing succeeds in reading them as wav files.

  • Change voicemail greeting wav file name

    I know nothing about unity and was wondering the following:
    We have a user that set up her voicemail greeting on a phone that had someone elses name, the greeting file has the previous person's name, but the new persons message.
    Is it possible to keep the greeting, rename it and use if for the new person, or does it have to be redone?
    Also, how do I determine if someone has any voicemail messages that can be saved?

    Just look at the subscriber greeting and download the file via the media bar, if you need to use it for other subscriber using the media bar you can upload the file.

  • Searching for wav files?

    Hello,
    If I placed a number of wav sound files in the same folder as the java files and classes. Would anyone know if it possible to search all the files in this folder and store the wav file names in an array?
    Thank you

    Yes; look up the method listFiles in the documentation of the class java.io.File.

    (1) If you have made a backup of your Mac's hard drive, you can restore your Mac from the latest working backup. Time Machine is particularly simple to use for this sort of thing, but clones or other backup methods can work, too:
      http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/9052.html
    (2) If your iMac is so new that you have not ever backed it up, now would be a good time to get an external drive so you can start a regular backup routine as soon as you get your Mac working again. Your retailer can help you select one that is good for your system and the way you use it.
    (3) Troubleshoot your iSight as suggested in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
    If your Apple apps work when you troubleshoot and your only iSight problem in any user account is with Skype, you only need to reinstall the Skype app.
    However, if your iSight does not work with Apple apps either (examples: QuickTimeX and iMovie) in any user account you test, the easiest thing to do is to reinstalling the software that came with your iMac. After reinstalling your Apple software, iSight should work with the Apple apps. If you need help reinstalling your Apple software, see the User Guide manual that came with your iMac.
    If Skype still does not work after reinstalling the Apple software, you will need to reinstall Skype, too.

  • Manually importing greetings and name id wav files to Unity Connection7.1(3)

    We are going to be doing a fresh install of Unity connection in one of our sites. The current Unity is version 4.0(4) running on a windows 2000 server.  Because the hardware, software and the OS are so out of date and buggy we don't want to attempt any upgrades on the server, we want to rebuild the system on new hardware.  My question is, can we copy and paste wav files from the current unity to the new unity connection 7.1(3) server?  We want to be able to copy the end users greetings and name id's for them in advance.
    Please let me know if you do.
    Thank you.
    Rgds,
    Vicky

    Hi
    I normally use COBRAS for this type of upgrade - basically you can run the export tool on your Unity server to export subscriber data, greetings, and even messages if you want. You then run the import tool for Unity Connection to push the users into the new server and map them to new CoS, schedules etc.
    Unfortunately you do need to be running Unity 4.0.5 in order to get the export to work, but for the sake of a smoother migration it is worth the effort.
    Search for COBRAS on this forum to see mroe info on it, or get the software from this link:
    http://www.ciscounitytools.com/SiteList/AllDownloads/alldownloads.html
    It's also worth reading through the help files to see what it can do, or maybe looking at the vids.

  • Import wav file in Unity 7 for subscriber greeting?

    We are updating info on the voicemail for our general mailboxes on all of our sites. The recording I have to make is long and basically the same for all the sites. Is there any way to import a greeting or copy and paste a wav file in to Unity so I can use one recording and don't have to record a minute long recording 16 times that I will screw up 100 times?

    Ahh...  You wrote 'unity' and my brain added the 'connection'.  Sorry about that.  From memory, it's a really similar process though.  I did leave out a step though.  In unity connection, after going to the greetings section you have to select the greeting you want to update/review (standard, alternate, etc).  Then scroll down for the "play/record" button.  I don't have a unity server to check but am hoping thatwill be close enough to get you there.

  • Unity Connections - can I save my voicemail message locally as a .wav file?

    Is this possible and if so how?
    I am running Unity Connections v7 on a CMBE system.
    If I have IMAP setup, is the message attached, or is it a link?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven

    Steven,
    Yes, this is most definitely possible. If you have IMAP set up then you are using "Integrated Messaging" and your email client is configured as an IMAP client with Unity Connection as the IMAP server. You may or may not be using the ViewMail plugin for your email client. If you are using ViewMail, the default behavior is that the media control used to play the voicemail message provides the option to "save as" a WAV file. If you don't have the ViewMail control loaded, then the file is simply seen as a WAV file attachment and will be played using a desktop media play that the user has selected to play files with the .WAV attachment.

    Hi John,
    A major drawback with using wav for storage is that it doesn't carry a tag. This means that in the event of a corrupted library the only information remaining is the filename. Other data may be stored in the path but iTunes doesn't know how to get it. I understand that you need this format for your workflow with Diamond Cut, but that makes it all the more important that you backup your iTunes database on a regular basis.
    Provided that you still have the tracks in their artist and album folders and haven't let iTunes "reorganise" them you should be able to restore some useful metadata using my script TagFromFilename. The script reads the path and filename, and provided these are in the normal layout of <Path>\<Artist>\<Album>\## <Name>.<Ext> can restore Artist, Album Artist, Track Name and Track Number. If your files have a different but predicatable layout with the same information, e.g. the data is all in the filename, then I could create a suitable version of the script to get the data into iTunes. I recommend you disable both the Keep... and Copy... options in iTunes advanced preferences before adding files to the iTunes database. Ideally you also want a complete backup of your correctly structured folders in case you need to pull copies back from it.
    As stated earlier, uninstalling iTunes before the upgrade wouldn't have helped. The crucial thing before any upgrade is to backup all user data from the drive that will be wiped. Typically the iTunes database lives in C:\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes on Vista or Windows 7. The crucial file is called iTunes Library.itl. You seem fairly certain that you don't have a backup database that you could restore but an exhaustive search of your hard drive for files of the form *.itl might still be worth doing. If you find any apart from the active library we can discuss how you open them to see if they are useful.

  • On-premise Exchange 2010 SMTP Relay to O365 mailboxes does not resolve Display Name

    Dear All,
    We have SMTP relay receive connector in our on-premise Exchange 2010 server that accepts emails from anonymous users.
    The Externally Secured check box is checked. Display Name of the sender in Emails to mailboxes in on-premise is resolved correctly.
    But the display name of the sender in the same email to mailboxes which are migrated to O365 is not getting resolved.
    Please let me know if anyone has seen this issue. Some of our mailboxes are in O365 and some are in On-premise server.
    Thanks
    Fred

    Do you have a hybrid configuration set up, and if not, is there any particular reason?

  • Smtp relay on osx 10.9.5 and server 3.2.2

    What we have
    We have a mac mini setup using 10.9.5 and server 3.2.2.    The mail server is OFF but we have a Relay Outgoing Mail through ISP checked (and the proper credentials for the outgoing relay (FQDN) and the authorization credentials.
    What we are trying to do
    Our mac mini runs a php script to generate an email that needs to be sent to users.   The mail has to use a smtp relay and we are trying to use the smtp relay provided by our email vendor.

    We set up the relay in Mail on the Server 3.2.2 to use SSL and port 465.  In our particular case the relay is configured as shown below.  Obviously the [email protected] is the proper username for our authorization.
    When we try to send mail (we test this function by sending mail from terminal by using the following command (sending mail to myself from myself)
    printf "Subject: TestnHello" | sendmail -f [email protected] [email protected]
    and then watch the mail logs the smtp server rejects our mail due to authorization issues.  The mail log text is shown below (email addresses replaced with [email protected] and IP addresses modified)

    Can anyone provide some guidance?
    Regards!

    The Server GUI doesn't provide for this use case.
    Take the following steps to configure Postfix to relay mail to a remote SMTP server with password authentication over SSL. Substitute as required for strings in italics below. Address is the fully-qualified domain name of the relay host. The value of port is usually either 25, 465, or 587. Username and password refer to your credentials on the relay host.
    In the current version of OS X Server (but not necessarily in older versions), Steps 1 and 3 should be done for you when you enable relaying and relay authentication in the Server application.
    1. If necessary, create or update the relayhost directive in
         /Library/Server/Mail/Config/postfix/main.cf
    It should look like this:
         relayhost = [address]:port
    2. Add these lines, above the section at the end that begins with the comment "# Mac OS X Server":
         smtp_sasl_security_options =
         smtp_tls_CAfile = /etc/certificates/relayhost.pem
         smtp_tls_session_cache_database = btree:$data_directory/smtp_tls_session_cache
         smtp_use_tls = yes
    3. If it doesn't already exist, create the password file
         /Library/Server/Mail/Config/postfix/sasl/passwd
    with this content:
         [address]:port
         username:password
    Here address must match $relayhost.
    Then create the password database:
    sudo postmap /Library/Server/Mail/Config/postfix/sasl/passwd
    This action creates the file
         /Library/Server/Mail/Config/postfix/sasl/passwd.db
    The two password files should be readable by root only.
    4. Create the file
         /etc/certificates/relayhost.pem
    with the CA certificate(s) to be trusted for authentication of the remote host. You get those certificates from the service provider. If you can't find a link to download them, try this:
    openssl s_client -connect address:port -showcerts < /dev/null | sed -n '/-BEGIN /,/-END /p' | sudo sh -c 'cat > /etc/certificates/relayhost.pem'
    The command may produce an error message that isn't necessarily significant. For servers that use the older STARTTLS protocol, rather than straight TLS or SSL, this command may need to be modified.
    5. Restart the Mail service.

  • 8k WAV files in UMR Failed folder - way to fix?

    to recipient John Doe could not be delivered and was moved to the failed directory. This can occur for several reasons: the recipient mailbox may be disabled or inaccessible, Cisco Unity may be having trouble connecting with the partner server, or the Cisco Unity messaging component may not be properly configured. If this condition persists, contact Cisco TAC. 0x00000DF0

    This is seen in Cisco Unity 4.0(4) and earlier when integrated with Lotus Domino.This defect is fixed with Unity 4.0(5).The problem is that a registry setting is pointing to a distribution list that doesn't exist for Unity for Domino: HKLM\Software\Active Voice\Notifier\SystemMailboxNDRTarget.The default value for this entry is "unadressedmessages". This value needs to be changed to match a valid Domino distribution list. By default, when Unity is installed it creates a distribution list called "unadressedmessagesXXXXXXXX", where XXXXXXXX (not always 8 characters) is the Unity system ID. Check the Domino directory (Names.nsf) to find the actual name of the distribution list to use. After making the change to the registry, restart the UMR service.

  • Messaging Server 5.2 Multiplexor SMTP Relay

    Hi,
    We are using Messaging 5.2 on a setup consisting of one MTA relay, one Mail Store and one Multiplexor.
    Everything works almost fine, multiplexor works fine for pop and imap, but it doesnt work for smtp. Basically because we cannot found the way to enable proxy support on the smtp.
    "local.service.smtp.proxy = 1" has been enabled, but still there is no way....
    On "SmtpProxyAService.cfg" config file there is a comment about proxy smtp:
    # This is a space-separated list of SMTP relay host names.  These relays
    # MUST support the XPEHLO extension.  MMP will load-balance among these
    # hosts.  This must be non-empty for the SMTP proxy to function.But there isnt any info about how to enable the XPEHLO extension, so the smtp multiplexed connection ends with:
    error in response to XPEHLO command from wolverine.ourdomain.com: 503 5.5.0 Pr
    oxy support is not enabled.Does anyone know how can we enable that extension?
    Also there is a little trouble for defining PROXY_PASSWORD on the mail relay servers, as if we include it into imta.cnf file on tcp_local channel it says isnt a recognized option, if PROXY_PASSWORD is defined into config/tcp_local_option file there is no warning, but we are not sure if the server is reading it.
    Any help is very much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can get this error if the password specified in the tcp_local_option file (assuming that the connection from the MMP's comes in on tcp_local - you may need to check your mail logs) is incorrect (make sure you imsimta rebuild;imsimta restart after making changes).
    Double check that PROXY_PASSWORD=<secret> in tcp_local_option is the same as the SmtpProxyPassword option of SmtpProxyAService.cfg Also ensure that everything is in the same case (uppercase/lowercase.. including the option name such as SmtpProxyPassword).
    Cheers,
    Shane.

  • Nowhere to type file name in save as dialog, is this normal . . .

    Hello;
    here's the problem;
    I'm having some problems with my main worksation and I'm going to probably rebuild it from scratch
    (HDD problem & an AVG Baked registry & network stack)
    so I've started by installing AA 2.0 (Full) onto one of  my backup systems
    & will follow with AA3.0 (Upgrade) if I can verify that the system can do the job for me
    here's the problem;
    I installed AA2.0 which is needed to get AA3.0(upgrade) to install
    but I haven't activated or registered yet because I don't want to waste any activations
    if I can't use the system
    is it normal for the save as dialog to not have a place to type a file name when AA isn't activated?
    System:
    HP/Compaq DC7600

    2GB DDR2 533MHz RAM
    Lots of HDD Space on 5 HDDs

    why is my insertion point moved all over the page while I type this in firefox?

    thanks for the reply:
    don't know if this some sort of a display redraw issue:
    but if I just hit enter I get the file saved as untitled.wav (which is floating in the middle of the screen not in the correct location)
    and the file ends up in "My Music Folder" (which I never use, but can't change folders either)
    -good grief I hate M$ for their My . . . crap folders
    the system is using similar Intel-GMA integrated graphics as my main workstation
