Unity Express: Display name in exchange/outlook

I have enabled voicemail integration with exchange. when I receive a message in outlook. I'm getting it from Cisco Unity Express. I want change it to my company specific name. I would like to know where I can change this settings
Thanks & regards,

Thanks Felipe,
I have already configured the "outgoing-email from-address".
What I am looking for is, the "From" Field. Presently I am receiving e-mails from the address which I'd mentioned in the "outgoing-email from-address".
However the Display Name or in the "From" field of outlook it is showing "Cisco Unity Express", which I would like to change to my company name.
e.g.
From Subject Received ............... etc
Cisco Unity Express Message Notification
Here I want change it! When I open the message in new window it shows like this: Cisco Unity Express [[email protected]]
It correctly shows complete e-mail address which I'd mentioned in the "outgoing-email from-address"
Can we customize the From field / Display Name to company specific name? If Yes Where?
Thanks again!

• No option to change email display name for exchange activesync account

Hi there - I have searched several forums and for some reason haven't been able to find the answer to my question. I have a business email account hosted through google apps, and my email is set up on my iPhone as an active-exchange account. Emails sent from my phone display my official first name instead of the one that I go by and want to display. Emails sent from the gmail interface and outlook display my correct name.
I don't have an option in my account information screen to change this, and I haven't been able to find where this is stored.
Can someone please help? Thanks in advance.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

account is configure with exchange and mail id from corporate office 365 proplus

Hello,
"I have one group mail id. that configure in outlook as user display name is different to user where i have configure that" -- Would you please give a detailed explaination of this
sentence so that we can understand the problem more efficiently?
From the description, I'm assuming that you want Outlook to show the name of the real sender who is sending using the group mail ID, rather than to show the group name, correct?
If this is the case, the only option I can think of is to show somebody "send on behalf of" the group, e.g. Amit On Behalf of Sales. However, based on my research, it's not possible to send on behalf of a group, we can only grant Send On
Behalf permission on a mailbox. So, I don't think what you're looking for is possible.
If I've misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.

• Exchange Online Management cmdlets return Display Name instead of Identity

Hello,
We've got an issue when managing our Exchange Online environment using remote PowerShell.
We use Exchange management cmdlets to manage Exchange Online mailboxes. When we run, for example, the
Get-MailboxPermission or Get-RecipientPermission
cmdlets, it returns Display Names of the users with mailbox rights. Previously, when we initially tested remote PowerShell with Exchange Online, the cmdlets returned the
Identity property, which is unique and worked well for us. However, currently the cmdlets return the
Display Name, which is not unique and causes us issues. For example, in our environment there can exist two or more users with the same Display Name (see highlighted on the screenshot):
In cases when only one of the users is granted a permission, we cannot distinguish programmatically, which of the 2 users this is. Also, we cannot run cmdlets, such as
Get-SecurityPrincipal, to get more info about the principals who are granted the permission.
Is it possible to get the old behavior of the cmdlets back so that they return the unique
Identity instead of the non-unique Display Name? Or how do we workaround this?

Hello,
Can anyone update on this? The issue causes us HUGE problems :(

• Wrong email display name with german umlauts (MS Exchange 2003)

We use 6 iPhones with Exchange 2003 and get wrong email display names with german umlauts (ä,ü,ö) - but the email-body is right.
We get special characters instead of umlauts, so the display name split into pieces. Anwering is not posipble - we get a failure-message.
We changed the standard-internet-mailformat on the exchange-server to unicode utf-8. First it works fine, after a few hours the names displays wrong again.
So we use this hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B916299&x=11&y=13
Same result: First it works fine, after a few hours the names displays wrong again at the iPhone.
Any ideas?

Do you have commas in the display name? We used to have "Müller, Thomas" <[email protected]> and then got the split up and special characters you mention. Tests have shown that when leaving out the comma in the display name, e.g. "Thomas Müller" <[email protected]>, everything worked fine.
Guess it's a question of whether a company wants to change its naming convention for a few iPhone users...

• On-premise Exchange 2010 SMTP Relay to O365 mailboxes does not resolve Display Name

Dear All,
We have SMTP relay receive connector in our on-premise Exchange 2010 server that accepts emails from anonymous users.
The Externally Secured check box is checked. Display Name of the sender in Emails to mailboxes in on-premise is resolved correctly.
But the display name of the sender in the same email to mailboxes which are migrated to O365 is not getting resolved.
Please let me know if anyone has seen this issue. Some of our mailboxes are in O365 and some are in On-premise server.
Thanks

Backing Up and Restoring Data
Last Updated: May 12, 2010
Cisco Unity Express backup and restore functions use an FTP server to store and retrieve data. The backup function copies the files from the Cisco Unity Express application to the FTP server and the restore function copies the files from the FTP server to the Cisco Unity Express application. The FTP server can reside anywhere in the network if the backup and restore functions can access it with an IP address or hostname.
We recommend that backups be done regularly to preserve voice-mail messages and configuration data.
Backup and restore commands are available in configuration mode and in offline mode.
•In configuration mode, commands are available to set the following parameters:
–Number of backup files to keep (the oldest file is deleted).
–URL of the FTP server where the files will be stored.
•In offline mode, perform the backup or restore procedure. Decide the following:
–Type of files to be backed up: all files (configuration and data), only configuration files, or only data files. Data files consist of voice-mail messages. Configuration files consist of all other system and application parameters.
–URL of the FTP server where the files will be stored.

• Why does the display name in older messages change if I update my address book for that E-mail address?

I have recently installed Thunderbird 24.5.0 after upgrading a WinXP machine to Win7. I have discovered a strange problem with older mail that was imported from Outlook Express 6.
The pastor of my church uses a generic E-mail address <[email protected]>. This address belongs to the position, not to an individual. We recently had a new pastor come to the church, and I updated my entry for this E-mail address to reflect the new person's name. This is fine for new mail sent since the new person arrived, but Thunderbird has also applied the new name to older mail from the previous pastor. This is very confusing, since the current pastor could not have sent mail from that address prior to her start date.
How can I get Thunderbird to stop changing the Display Name in archival messages that were sent by the previous pastor prior to September 01, 2013? I have not encountered this situation before using Netscape 4.x Mail, Outlook Express 6, and Windows Mail (Vista version).

Of course it does. It looks for a match between the sender's email address and a Contact in your address book. You've edited the Display Name for this account so it gets applied to any message with that email address if that's how your Address Book is configured.
In the Contact card for this address, you can tell it whether or not to use the "real" email address within the message, or the Display Name from your Address Book. Telling it to use the name found in the message ''might'' resolve this, but it depends on how the sender has formatted it. If he includes his name then Thunderbird should be able to resolve it, and you just add both configurations to your Address Book as two separate Contacts, rather than modifying the existing entry.
However, in this situation you're using the same email address for two distinct people, so Thunderbird may not be able to know who sent the old messages. If both have sent using "rector@stpeterscobourg.org" without any personalization then Thunderbird won't be able to differentiate between them.
I have to say that I haven't recently tried using different display names with the same email address, so I don't know for sure if TB can use the display name constructively. If there's nothing in the old messages to tell you which sender wrote them, then TB can't do anything about it.

• Unable to change outgoing email display name on 9930. Only displays email address to clients

I have tried to change my outgoing email display name to my name but when I delete the email address on username field and input my name it says "not a valid email address". Tried on the Blackberry website with my profile and on my handheld device. Why is this so difficult? I can't send emails to clients as on their end it just shows my email address in the from field and not my full name. My email account name on my Blackberry shows the full name I want to display, but it keeps defaulting to my username, which is my email address. I have a 9930 that is two years old. Thanks.

Hi Cltclt,
Thanks for the details! When did this issue start? Is your Blackberry on a Blackberry Enterprise server from your company? Is this an outlook Microsoft Exchange email account? This may help with changing your settings:

• IMac email display names

This has been a really annoying thing that has been happening to me with the mail application.
When you make an email in the mail application it asks if you want to give it a description. So for example on my ebay email address I described it as Ebay Mail and under my inboxes it shows up as Ebay Mail. Now lets say I sent someone an an email when it comes up instead of saying my full email address it says the mail is from "Ebay Mail". I don't want it to say that I want it to say its from my full name, but I want to use the nickname of the mail for my personal organziation so I know the difference of what mail it is. I also have problems if someone else with apple mail sends me an email. Like for example one of my friends has labeled one of his boxes as paypal so he can tell what email that is. Everytime I get an email from him it says its from Paypal which is really confusing because I dont know if its him sending me an email or paypal themselves. I tried changing his name in my contacts to his real name, but its sitll showing up as Paypal when he is sending me somehting yet when you open the email the from says his real name. Is there anyway to fix this so the box is just nicknamed and it doesnt show up as the sender name to other people and then on the other way if someone sends me an email with a nicknamed box to not show up as things like paypal?

Hi,
I suppose you are using an Exchange account? Have you upgraded the Exchange Server?
I am using Outlook 2013 & Windows 8.1, I cannot reproduce this issue on my side.
If you send the emails on Web(OWA), will the recipients see the display names in the CC field? If yes, try creating a new profile to setup your account, test if this issue persists:

• SharePoint 2013 Site Mailbox Display Name MDEL:SiteMailboxName

I installed the site mailbox (SiteMB) on a project site, and It synchronized with the Outlook of members in this site, but next day it disappeared from the outlook, and when I check (Manage All Site Mailboxes) I see that it is empty. Also I noticed that
the site mailbox display name changed to (MDEL:SiteMB) and no one did any changes to the site mailbox settings. And I still easily can open it from the SharePoint site.
Can anyone help with this?

http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/154/t/182999.aspx
It would appear there's a bug in Outlook when the option for Cached Exchange when the - Download Shared Folders - option is selected. The work around is you deselect the shared folders option.
File-> Account settings -> (select Exchange Account) Change -> [More Settings] button -> {Advanced tab} -> in the "Cached Exchange Mode Settings" deselect the [ ] Download Shared Folder Options. Restart Outlook.
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered
That did not help, The problem that the mailbox is MDEL(Marked for Deletion) as if I deleted the site itself ! But I still can open the mailbox itself through the SharePoint site > Mailbox icon!!!

• AD display name change is wrong

Unity 4.0(2)
When using SAWeb to import a subscriber (exchange) the application puts the exchange alias in the display name field and this cannot be changed, this then updates AD and hence the display name in AD is wrong. I noticed an earlier post talking about bug CSCeb24466 and wondered if this would affect me in this way as I'm not using the Bulk Import Tool?

I have run into this problem today and am about to log a case with the TAC. My situation is a new Cisco Unity 4.0.3 Unified Messaging in an existing AD/Exchange environment. Unity Administration has been set up to import existing users only.
When importing new Unity users from Exchange, the Display Name in the Unity Web Administration page is reading the Calling Name (cn) value from Active Directory when selecting the user to import and then overwriting the Display Name in AD when the user is added.
(I have just read Bug CSCeb54025 and this is exactly the issue, will chase the ES from the TAC)
When we deny write access to the Display Name for the UnityDirSvc account, we are unable to add users to Unity.
Why does this account require access to write any fields on the AD user account except the cisco attributes? The customer does not wish Unity Account Administrators to be able to change non-cisco Active Directory fields (such as First Name, Last Name, Display Name etc.) through the Unity interface unless crucial to the operation of Unified Messaging.
Any suggestions??
Thanks

• Unity express 7.1.4 License Issue

Hi I'm using this new version over an AIM CUE, that comes allready installed in the module
The problem that i recongnize,is that the VM-mailboxes are in Evaluation state, i activate the vm-mailbaxes via this command through aim-cue cli:
license activate voicemail mailboxes 25.
So the VM are going to work for a period of time (Evaluation), so i check for cisco documentation, and it comes that it should be installed if you buy the license for the VM mailboxes, really don´t know if they bought that license, should i have a pack number for it? so i can register and apply the lic file.}

• Email Sender's display name not displaying/resolving on internal emails with POP/IMAP clients

Here's the scenario. I have two 2013 test accounts setup in Outlook as POP/SMTP accounts. I have their name setup as initials in the outlook account (the "Your Name" field). If I send an email (Through SMTP) to a 2013 Exchange(Outlook
Anywhere) client, their names resolve to their actual Display Name in the GAL which is correct. Now if I send an email to another 2013 POP/IMAP user, their name shows what is setup in Outlook which is their initials which is not correct.
Now we are currently in the process of a 2007 to 2013 migration. I do not see this behavior on the Exchange 2007 side with POP/IMAP clients. If I run the same test setup with a 2007 mailbox as the recipient, the sender's name resolves to
their GAL display name and NOT the name configured in the Outlook Account settings. It doesn't matter whether the sender is a 2007 or 2013 account. As long as the recipient is on 2007 it works fine.
This is all tested using authenticated SMTP. The only difference I can tell is that the 2007 servers resolve the name before delivering it to the inbox where the 2013 servers don't.
There aren't any GAL or Address Book related issues on the 2013 side. Full exchange clients or OWA work correctly.

Hi,
It seems to be related to the permission settings on the receive connector. For example, using a Receive Connector for Anonymous Relay. We can refer to this article:

smtpc.Send( mm );

That won't work the way you want it in EWS, like when you send via Outlook or OWA when you send a messages via EWS it's submitted via the Exchange store so the Sender Address will be resolved back to the default Reply address for whatever account your trying
to send as. If you need some sort of custom display name I would suggest you stick to SMTP or possible create a Transport Agent that would rewrite the address before its sent externally.
